Question Does F936U only support 1 physical SIM - Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4

I need dual physical SIM, which version should I buy? Thanks!

the US models are all 1 physical sim, and 1 ESIM.

I was ****ed from it. Forced me to use tmo instead of atnt as my secondary.
One guys got Verizon on the esim but I can't get it to work any way I try lol I'm done trying for now
Esim is a **** show right now

Mine works great and love the Esim, but both lines are TMO

Don't blame the phone or esim, blame the carriers for their lack of support. If anything, thank Apple as now they have no choice but to get their shoit together! ;-)

Esim on the att lte variant

The 4g variant is supposed to have esim yet I do not see anything in the settings to allow adding a new service.. Any clue about esim functionality?
I do not believe the U.S. version of the Galaxy Fold supports dual-sim; it only has one sim and it uses a nano-sim. Have you called AT&T to find out if there is in fact eSim support?
It definitely has an esim, you can see it imei in about phone.
Edit* That said i don't know how to use it.

To activate it you would need to call your carrier and provide the eSim IMEI number to them. The phone may support eSim but AT&T itself might not. I'd like to know though if they do coz' that's the only reason why I haven't purchased that phone yet. Other specs I read mentions both eSim and Nano Sim and calls it "Dual Sim" but for some reason for the Folds Best Buy and AT&T only labels it as "Single Sim". Samsungs USA website does the same thing but their international sites identifies the phone as eSim and Nano sim capable.
I believe all Fold LTE versions has the same hardware and only difference are carrier supported features.

I know they don't plan on releasing the 5G version in the U.S. and only the LTE version but you are probably correct with your statement. The U.S. LTE version could be the same as the ones they are releasing across the world and supports dual sim but AT&T might not just support it. I guess will know for sure when someone calls AT&T's support and attempts to enable the eSim feature. I personally got mixed answers from reps at the stores as they are not too familiar with the Fold's feature yet. If it was a cheap phone I'd probably still try and take my chances but for a $2,000 phone I'd like to know for sure first that I can use the eSim and Nano sim on it and have two lines running before buying one.
We got our answer! Published just hours ago at PCMag: https://sea.pcmag.com/smartphones/34287/samsung-galaxy-fold
"The Samsung Galaxy Fold is available unlocked directly from Samsung Experience stores and some Best Buy locations, as well as locked to AT&T from some carrier stores. It works on all US networks and supports LTE bands 2/4/5/7/12/13/14/25/26/30/38/41/66/71. There's a nano SIM slot as well as an eSIM, though Samsung states the eSIM is only compatible with European carriers at this time"
There has to be a way to activate it, I wonder if we can find the info somewhere

It won't hurt nor will it mess up your phone to try. T-mobile supports eSim for both postpaid and prepaid customers, Verizon supports it for postpaid, and AT&T (I believe) supports it for both prepaid and postpaid too. But since AT&T carries the Fold there may be a chance that it won't work with them. All they need is the IMEI of the eSim chip anyway, and all you need to do is provide it to them. If their systems accepts it then good but if not then you simply just continue using your nano sim.

Looks like you didn't understand the thread or didn't read the PCMag article. The quote was accurate because it was referring to the U.S. version of the phone. You bought the U.K. version and that indeed is a dual-sim phone.
I actually personally verified that at a Best Buy store in the U.S. When I checked the network settings the eSim feature is grayed out. It is showing an IMEI but is grayed out and cannot be activate. I also got to touch the Singapore version which is a dual sim version like yours and that didn't have the eSim grayed out.

Still wrongnIt's being software blocked on the att variant if you Odin flash a different firmware it works and many ppl have it running like att on reg sim and TMobile on esim there's even a whole tutorial on how to do it which I posted in a thread I created. Also if the phones didn't have esim there wouldn't be a esim IMEI in the about phone . American carriers are just greedy money hungry leeches.

Well the article doesn't market to techies but normal people that would be buying the phone so it referred to the facts and facts are never wrong.
But I agree with you, the hardware is there and they are just greedy to not allow the eSim to be used. Where is that thread you said you created because I've been researching that method for quite sometime now and didn't find any? I don't even know a single person that has successfully flashed it and even went to Asian cellphone stores that does phone repairs and they couldn't flash the fold. I would love to read that thread if what you're saying is true.

LoL! Just what I thought. That thread you said that you started with full instructions on how to do it was started just yesterday after we asked for it. Furthermore, the link you said didn't show any flashing instructions, and worse, I couldn't find the "many people" you claimed have done it on that Reddit post. In fact, "many people" have claimed what I said that the AT&T versions/U.S. Fold versions does not support eSim functionality.

I didn't say the many people were in that thread. The instructions I was referring to were the actually activating the esim once you have the options available. And I said off jump out the box att doesn't (although 2 ppl did say it was active out the box for them) but if you flash it should open it up. And I didn't time frame when I made the post. I did make it before I seen this thread. But in either way the time it was made is irrelevant. All I was saying was that I had made one.

Do you know if there is any change in the eSIM information for the F900U units in the US? Some conflicting information. Not sure, if flashing unlocked firmware enables it.
hello, anyone flashed the international firmware & got the e-SIM option rolling?

eSim support

Hey, I didn't find any direct answer for it so I'll ask here
Does the 4g exynos 990 galaxy s20 version will suppprt eSim?
Thanks!

Nope. That's what I have. When trying to use the camera to take a pic of the QR code for esim it says mobile plans. When selecting it it takes me to the wearables app for a watch esim
Also under IMEI it only has one which tells me there's no esim for the S20.

Hey, I managed to make my eSim (G980F) working on the phone by factory resetting when a greek sim is inserted, apparently esim is not supported in my country (probably due to interests of the operators) so it was blocked by software.
note to the people who have multi-csc rom -> if you want to enable features that appear in other countries all you need is to factory reset while your phone have a sim from this country, after rebooting it will ask you if you want to change the country of the phone and it'll change the CSC. no root/ flashing required
note that inserting a sim from a overseas operator WITHOUT formatting will not make the same effect - and your CSC will still remain the original one.
in order to know what features are enabled in each csc of the multi CSC mode you can see the file: /optics/configs/carriers/<your CSC>/conf/cscfeature.xml
those files have readonly access (without root permission), but I assume that if you do have root you will be able to enable/disable features by editing the file
good luck

Question Will we ever see dual-SIM enabled on the NA model?

We can finally order dual-SIM trays via eBay as of today. What are the odds of being able to enable that second slot?
It might need some time. I read from other post that oneplus 8 pro took a year before a low that feature. now oneplus 9 pro only have one sim tray so it might talk even a longer time for them to release that feature. I am more depending on the people who know how to customize the rom and add feature . So just stay tune at different forums.
OP9Pro normally comes with a dual SIM. Just flip over your sim tray and insert the second sim. Voila!

Oh no. Does OnePlus publish those components, or are we out of luck until someone figures out a way to get them? The EU variant I have on order doesn't support one AT&T LTE band, so would much rather use an NA variant with dual SIM enabled.
If the EU variant shows up at my door before someone figures out how to make dual SIM work on the NA variant, then I will just use it even with the missing LTE band.

I saw one guy on Reddit complaining of the same situation we're in- ordered the phone when it said dual-SIM and trying to return it afterward.
He claims OP customer service said dual-SIM would be enabled via update in the future. While I hope that's true, it's the first and only time I saw that said anywhere. Could've just been said to try and avoid return. Even if it does happen, it'd probably be a ways off.

i have a bnib stellar black chinese version dual sim 8/256 oneplus 9 pro for sale. I am in SF bay area.
Will it work if i have a Dual Sim Oneplus 9 from Malaysia, install NA rom to open more BANDS ? The malaysia OnePlus 9 has the same 5G bands as in UK, but lack of some US 5G bands like n71. All CN variant do not have B13 band, therefore, not supporting Verizon LTE nicely. All ebay sellers who claimed dual sim with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage are mostly CN variant. I'm better off with EU/UK or MY. Hong Kong spec is the same as USA with dual sim. If anyone wants a dual sim and want mostly all US bands supported, Hong Kong Oneplus seems to be the right fit. Do you have the US version?
I was very disappointed that the US version didn't come with a dual sim. I ordered mine at launch, when their website said that it had it.. Anyway, I finally figured out an acceptable replacement option for mine. I did have 1 sim for my personal number and a second sim for my work number (worked great on my OP 6T for a couple of years now). After playing around with things, I finally ended up porting my work number over to Google Voice (1 x $20 fee) and installed the Google Voice app on my phone. Now I essentially have 2 #'s on one phone, just like having a second SIM, but no cost to my carrier. I can receive calls and txt's for the # I ported to GV. Wasn't quite the solution I was hoping for, but now I no longer pay for that line.

I don't think is a US variant. As far as US Variant is concern, is single SIM. Anyone that is using Dual sim could be CN or EU/UK Variant. If it is indeed a US variant, then I'm interested to know where the source to get it then . Those variants have fewer 5G sub-bands compared to the US except HK. I just hope that Oneplus has the hardware embedded and is just a matter of software activation. Samsung Note20 new firmware patch also opens up their eSIM support.

eSIM offers a new way to load carrier information onto your phone without using an external physical chip, enabling you to switch carriers on the spot.

Samsung Store - Sunrise, FL
17 reviews of Samsung Store "I love Samsung products and I was looking forward to visit this brand new Samsung Store. Maybe I been to Apple Store too much and I was envisioning that it will be similar to that. But sadly it was really small with just one sample of each model for demonstration...

Yup, and no eSIM support at all!

Question OnePlus 11 esim

So that means it comes with esim?
EDIT: correction: 11 global variant has eSim. My apologies.
Afaik OP hasn't yet ventured into eSim. iPhone so far ahead of everyone else...

Nope...bunch of android phone support esim including Oneplus 11(global version), Pixel, Galaxy etc.
Esim is ok..but if you get a new phone.. that dont offer esim , it kinda sucks. Now you have to go to cell company and transfer esim to a sim card . I had esim on pixel 6 pro
That's not what I posted.
Other brands have but not to the extent of iPhone - where you can juggle many eSim profiles simultaneously, it's why I still use it in addition to Android.
As far as OnePlus 11 I haven't found a single confirmation. Even OnePlus forums state no.

I like the way iPhone handles it. Simultaneously I had capped base plan and added free monthly trials from T-Mobile and Verizon. In settings you can designate which carrier is primary for call&text, which one for Data.
You can store over dozen e-Sim profiles, enable or disable at will...

eSIM in OP11 is.
even the help in the smartphone mentions it and informs you that if you activate the eSIM, the second SIM slot is no longer active.
Simply eSIM replaces SIM2.
Edit:
I added screenshots showing that eSIM in OP11 is and is doing well
BTW - I don't have my traditional SIM card inserted yet, because after the initial "play" with OP11, I will probably reset it to factory settings and root it.

Really?!
With a physical SIM card I can swap it between any phones however and when I like. With a eSIM card you are a slave to your cellular provider. And good luck restoring your eSIM number if you left your country.

Dziękuję
So OnePlus Store doesn't present it based on Location.
I stand corrected, and very grateful for your detailed reply!
I hoping that their will be alot of development for OnePlus 11 and I want to see for myself how esim works and how easy it is switch companys

There won't be. OppoPlus has again locked the MSM Tool behind a technician login so the risk of having a brick is unacceptably high. It will be just like all phones since the 9 Pro - little, if any development. Developers are moving away from OnePlus en masse.
I'm going to be moving to the OP11 from OP7T - even though it has eSIM/SIM - does it allow you specify a ringtone for each of the SIMs? This is the reason I moved back to my OP7T from the Pixel 7 Pro, now I have (1) expensive paper-weight sitting on my desk and hoping the OnePlus 11 will have this option like my OnePlus 7T.
This is from the OnePlus 11 Specs Page
eSIM - Yes
Dual SIM - Yes (Dual nano-SIM slot)
I'm about to set up a new OP11 but I don't want to use eSIM. I'd rather have two physical SIMs. When you start setup I don't see an option to disable eSIM. I don't want to insert my SIM to learn, that I won't be able to go back or cancel this operation. What do I do?
