Hello, I have a question. Samsung is a good phone, I'm satisfied but I'm switching from Xiaomi and I miss the Custom ROM options. I've only seen RayOS so far, are there others? Thank you.

Not yet. For people wanting to stay in OneUI but with lots of custom options, RayOS is your best choice. For AOSP ROMs, they should be coming once we start booting Lineage and have stable trees. It's currently in the works, still trying to figure out a few things. Once that happens, lots of custom ROMs can be built on top of that, like Pixel Experience, HavocOS and etc...

OrionOS is preety stabe
Thanks guys, really appreciate it.
And they also with 7.0.x?
Tesla N (looks childish is that the normal theme?)
Tesla N is official and stable but has a few very minor bugs(which are. Also present in all other N ROMs at this stage.
Still Tesla would be your best option. For the theme, you may flash the Pixel Launcher and stuff and you can be more stock.

All AOSP ROMs are CM based so unless you're running OOS, you'll be running some sort of cm based ROM. Also OOS is a lot more stable and has a better camera than CM/AOSP. Pretty much everything else is the same
I'd recommend Tesla N. Camera sucks on this ROM but I use a ported OOS camera app. There's minor issues with the ROM but you can really use it as a daily driver.

Not all AOSP roms are based on cm. There are many non cm based roms available for op3 like slim, pa, orionos, tesla, and more.
Most of them are fast and stable so try to find one that suits your preferences.

Hmm I thought the underlying base was cm and then it the respective devs customize it to their liking... Well at least it was like that on the S6 but probs different since we actually have all the sources for this phone.

Many custom ROMs are based on CM, which is itself based on AOSP but heavily customised. There are a number of other custom ROMs as previously mentioned that are based directly on AOSP code.
We don't really have all sources for this phone. OnePlus has only released the essential sources (kernel, dash charge, etc).
Is Stock the best or is there a better custom Rom?
Completely subjective.

I am just asking
Ye it's completly subjective.
I would say OOS is most stable looking in performance/smoothness/battery and overall, but many people like other stuff more like more customizability that custom rom offers. Just what you think.
if you want customization go for a custom rom like ResurrectionRemix, or OmniRom, if you want stability and better camera quality (in this particular phone), go for stock OxygenOS, in latest version it supports Face Unlock too ...
Hello friends. I am on MIUI 10.2 . I just want to ask if it is better to change to a custom rom? or there are no much differences between stock rom and custom roms?
If you prefer switching to custom roms, just give your reasons, and if you prefer stock rom, mention why stock rom is better
I would also like to know the answer. Currently I'm on Masik 1.5, but its becoming a little bit sluggish. I want to know if custom roms have full screen gestures like in MIUI and if the camera quality is compared to stock.
Are you from the future? There is no MIUI 10.2 ?
So far the best ROM is stock one. Custom have lots of problems and bugs. You wont find any perfect custom rom. There wil bel always some problems.
I've tried Pie ROMs, for now MIUI is enough, pretty stable and with a lot of features, our device is supported from Xiaomi, maybe a custom ROM will be a good idea after 1/2 years (in my opinion)
I see LineageOS and some other AOSP-based ROMs here, but are there any ROMs built off of the original stock firmware?
Well not sure for oneplus 7t, but there are definitely roms built on top of stock ROMs.
An example would be xiaomi.eu roms for xiaomis which is basically debloated stock rom.

Thank you! Coming from the Samsung S7, there is also LightROM and DevBase. I am looking for one that is specific to the 7T.

For clarification, I'm asking this because I want to make sure everything works. Samsung uses a lot of closed-source proprietary stuff, so AOSP ROMs have holes in function. I'm perfectly fine using LineageOS if everything works on OnePlus devices.

Try DotOS. I can recommend is a good alternative if you want a fresh look on your phone. I pretty much was running stock OOS11 but there were some bugs I was tired of, and gave it another opportunity to run a custom ROM.
I'm new to RN8P world, and don't have time to test all roms from this forum.
Actually i'm on stock MIUI 12.5.5, unlocked bootloader, but I heard this device bricks easily, so I don't have time to fix mistakes...
I need help and tips from you guys to choose the more stable AOSP rom for RN8P, I'm counting on you

I want to squeese more RAM and I don't like MIUI too much, I feel spyed...
Then i will suggest some from my experience:
- For customize: AncientOS and Nusantara are good for me
- For camera: If your phone is India one, LineageOS GSI from Timjosten is the best, based on Q-Oss and use Miui Cam with it feature (not ANX)
- For battery/perfomance: Try some custom kernels and find out with are the best for you
- For A11 with A12 exprerience: DotOs A11 is good
- For A12: not stable, but some can use at daily rom (AncientOS), some other A12 roms has some other bugs, Bluetooth issue.... And mostly screen recorder won't work by defauft, need to install other app or do something idk.
- And some other roms with their special you need to flash to find out.
- AOSP has some random bugs. And it's good for me doesn't mean it's good for you. Maybe just flash and find out with one suitable.
- If you dont know where to find these roms and their flash guide, you can try type Redmi note 8 pro Official or Update on Telegram. Idk why they drop many updates and new roms in XDA
