Battery problems - Xiaomi Redmi 5A Questions & Answers

So no one answered me what the problem is! I put any firmware except off, and I write 0% of the battery ... I looked at the current, charging 0.5A goes on, turn it off and it goes fine ... I put a new battery and everything is the same

*HELP* SX-66 main battery invisible to device

When I tried to turn the device on, it only displays the version information before rebooting itself again and again ... and again. I finally put it in the cradle and it booted all the way up to the setup screen and was running properly (sans all the data and the applications I've installed, of course). The backup battery was down to 20% at the time.
Now, the battery screen shows Main battery at 0%, AC Only, and the backup battery at 100%. It doesn't show any charging activity to the main battery.
The battery on it right now was fully charged through the aux battery charger, and the backup battery is also fully charged. I've tried another fully charged battery with no luck.
I slapped in a freshly charged battery last night before going to bed. Everything was working just fine then. The phone was sitting inside a leather case all night and never moved.

I'm running the original Cingular ROM unlocked for use with a T-Mobile SIM.
Thanks for any help.
I updated the ROM to 1.40.00 and Radio to 1.13.00. But since EXT ROM update takes too many reboots and after each reboot, the directory would be hidden again, so it's still at 1.33.110 for Cingular.
Any thoughts? Please help. I'm aboslutely losing my mind. Do I have to call Siemens for warantee?
Not even speculations?
I have somewhat a similar problem, I have an XDA IIs, and I bought a 2400 mAh battery, and when I place it into the phone and plug in the USB Charger the light doesn't come on, so I turn on the phone and I goto power and it shows AC Only, and backup battery is full. I can't find a way to charge the battery since I bought it I need help =/.

[Q] Battery worn out?

Hello,
My desire, after:
an inability to restore nandroid backup
a possible corrupted sd card
a usb brick and inability to mount some nand partitions
and finally succeeding in fixing it, now using/running:
2.29.405.5 stock rooted rom
a new sd card (samsung 16GB class 6)
clockworkmod 2.5.0.7
s-off
seems that has battery issues. When it reaches below 30%, it drains a lot faster. In example few minutes ago, the battery was below 30% level and after sending a couple of sms messages the phone, without the "Connect the charger" indication shut down. Not even the battery icon was red.
What should I do?
After flashing the above ROM I ran an app called battery calibration (could this be the culprit?).
I haven't experienced such problems before the whole mess mentioned above.
Thank you for your time.
Well, it seems to me like a "classic" battery meter calibration issue.

In order to calibrate the battery meter - FYI the battery itself cannot be calibrated, as Li-Ion batteries have a very low memory compared to old Ni-Cd etc. batteries - you have to go through the following procedure:
1) charge the battery to 100%;
2) let the battery discharge until the phone shuts itself down;
3) plug the wall charger into the phone, boot the phone up then charge the battery to 100% without interruptions.
If the above procedure does not yield the expected results, you can try fully charging the phone (LED showing green) with it completely turned off (after completely draining it). Again, the charging procedure should not be interrupted.
Source: personal experience - had to do this twice after installing new ROMs, as the phone was shutting down at ~14% (working like a charm now).
Regarding the matter of battery wear because of complete discharges, Li-Ion batteries do indeed have a lower cycle count than old-school batteries, but the standard charge/discharge number a Li-Ion battery can take is ~350, so you can't damage the battery pack by doing a full cycle per month (required to keep the battery meter accurate).
Good luck!

Did this work you mate? I have the same issue with my year old batter now... the phone shuts down @ 40% without any warning... and when I charge it, it starts from 0% and as soon as it hits the 58% mark, it jumps to 100% by itself... and i cant seem to figure out what the hell could I do to fix it... I tried calibrating the battery using the awesome method described here http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/11823-battery-calibration-thread 3 times and nothing changed...
bump bump.. i really need help on this guys... :/

Weird that after calibration you still get that kind of issues, does this only happen on your current ROM? I have the latest CM in my desire and everything works just fine... Maybe try another ROM if calibration doesn't work to see if it's a hardware or software issue
i actually had issues with MIUI first.. the phone randomly shut down by itself but when i turned it back on, it was perfect... then i switched back to Oxygen and while everything was fine, suddenly one day the phone died at 40% :S and from that day on the phone charges to 58% and then instantly jumps to 100%... and as soon as it gets to 40% it shuts down itself... i guess i need a new battery but i wanted to see wether i can fix this one somehow so i can use it till the new one arrives...

phone turning off at 20% is fine mate because thats the battery guards against any damage
most of the phones ( smart phones) switch off at 20% as going lower can damage the System .
It shouldnt normally..It's supposed to work fine upto 5%
Have a look at this, it worked for me (but you need a compatible kernel, most AOSP are so)

Battery Monitor reporting battery flat even tho fully charged

Hey All,
Already did a search, but nothing came up... so here goes:
I recently switched over to Andida 1800Mah battery, and when i restarted my DHD with the battery already inside, the phone detects it as a flat battery and shuts itself down a while after boot up.
So far the only way to overcome this is to boot the phone while it is charging, then the battery level will be correct..
Also, it happens randomly, as and when it wants to. I know I cant complain when using a non-OEM battery, but from another forum it is also happening to stock batteries.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=518890
Attached is the screenshot from BMW, in it u can see that the lvl goes down to 0% while i attempt to boot it while it's not on charge, then jumps back to 100% when i find a charger and boot it up..
Anyone in the same boat with me? Or knows how to solve this?

[Q] Getting Error code when I plug charger in, short battery life

My battery lasts about 30-45 minutes under heavy use (internet search, screen on auto), tried to follow some instructions, so I charge my battery full, wiped battery stats, switched off and put on charge again, then I've noticed this code: when device is off and I plug the charger in, it vibrates once shortly and indicator starts blinking green and orange for few seconds (10-15), then it turns back to normal orange till it believes the battery is 100%. By the time phone booting is done, it's only about 70-80% left!
I am rooted and tried lots of different ROMs. The problem started when I was using JellyTime R28-30 and gradually increased. Not sure but it might start after I flashed 26.17.14.11_M radio firmware. In attempt to solve it I flashed 26.14.04.28_M on Android Revolution 7.1, which is my battery life etalon! To be honest, noticed improvement, but for some reason tried to flash also relevant RIL, and the battery life shortened significantly!
Now can't get back even the previous battery life! Any Ideas where to find the code explanation?
Thanks, Dmitry
