Question Google Play Services Not Working (CN Origin x80 Pro) - Vivo X80 Pro

I'm hoping someone can help me with this issue. I have an x80 Pro the CN version. I unlocked the bootloader and rooted it with Magisk. After a few days my Google Play Services stopped working. I reset my phone and again it works a few days then stops. I finally found a video where it shows how to setup everything on Magisk so that your SafetyNet doesn't detect the unlocked bootloader. I did all that, passed all the tests, it worked a few days then the same thing. When I run a SafetyNet checker it just says can't access Google Play Services. Anything that uses Google Play Services doesn't work or is delayed. Here's the weird part.. If I connect my phone through USB to my car or my computer, the play services work well but the minute I unplug it, back to not working again. So something is making this happen and I am not sure what.. If anyone has any experience with this and could help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Go to settings/Account and sync.
Open Google Service and deactivate this. Wait a Moment and activate. Working.

I just tried. Same thing unfortunately. I have no idea why it's doing this.

Have you turned on "Google Basic Services" in settings? Most resellers turn this on for you and install the Google Play store before shipping the device, but it is turned off by default. If you have done a factory reset then it would be off. Turning it on is essential to maintaining permanent Google Play services.

Yeah. I turned it off then back on to make sure. But same thing would happen. What I did now is I downgraded it to a previous firmware version and then did the whole safety net process again. It seems to be okay now. Honestly I think it started happening after I would go into the clear cache mode where it wipes the phone cache but not the data on your phone. I haven't done that since I did this and it seems to be okay now. I don't know why clearing the cache would cause this to happen since I like doing that every once in a while. It was very weird because I would connect my phone to USB and the services would come back. Unplug it, they would be gone. Something was triggering it to do that and I have no idea what.

If you have removed com.vivo.pem every firmware update is a problem with google authentication.
Restore com.vivo.pem and you get rid of the issue.

Well, not only after the update the Google services turn off. In my case every third day they just turn off. There exist more frustration issues, because they can be turned on again easily. But still... It's annoying.

Everything was fine, now Playstore won't load

A few months back, I had side-loaded Google apps onto my stock device.
(I'm on 4.6.6.1 now - not sure if this upgrade happened recently...)
I am using it with a Project Fi data-only sim and letting the kid use it for Pokemon Go.
All of a sudden, PoGo won't start (GPS signal not found), and I can't load the Play Store (it just says at a blank white screen). Anyone else have something like this happen, and is there a simple fix?
Me too, today Nov 11 my google maps and play store dont work
same for me since 4 days....
I'm not on stock atm but in the past that exact thing would happen to my Google play if Google sent an update for it's services that somehow broke it on the firephone. Google has made about 3 updates this month so try reinstalling an older version or something and see if it works.
I don't need this when the whole world is falling apart.

All my fire phones were working fine with side loaded framework, google services, play store etc. as explained in the xda forum. They would automatically update and nothing broke except for a brief period a year or so ago which got fixed automatically after a few days. I know Google broke it with an update at that time, but not sure who fixed it -- Amazon or Google.
But now, the same things has happened. With Google Services update a couple of days ago things have come off their moorings.
Youtube, Maps, and the Play store itself are on the blink. Other things which require Play services also are gone, of course.
I am afraid, this time around, Amazon seems to have really given up on the fire phone. So the chances are quite bleak that they would take any trouble to fix this. eg. They don't even support Amazon Music Unlimited, and Audible on their own Fire Phone! Both are Amazon's own products!!
Check out this thread, last couple pages. Got me going again (for now, anyways).

Same here - good to see it was neither me, nor I'm alone, yet let's see how to solve this!

Thanks. That got me going for 36 hours. Then it automatically started updating, and back to square one... Google Play Services has stopped working blah blah blah..
The deicsion to freeze and branch off from a version of Android was a very short-sighted selfish, customers-be-damned decision.
Amazon seems to be a really bad version of Apple without the technical wherewithal to sustain itself.
What a pity. The fire phone itself is a great one.
Is there any chance that a non-Google non-Amazon fix can work at all?

Since we're here, I'm assuming we have our phones rooted. That said, is there some way to just block the updater with a firewall or something similar?
The new google play services update broke all amazon google services in stock fire OS
We have to block the update process or wait for fix in next play services update
Anyone find a way to fix it

I had this exact same problem and it started last night as well, I tried reinstalling but then I got the "Google Play Services has stopped" message repeatedly, i'll keep looking as I need this fix asap for work

"Wrong!!"
Sorry, the would is still fresh..
No.. none of my phones is rooted. The beauty of this Xda-forum solution of side loading the four files (Account framework, Account Manager, play services, & play store) was that they don't have to be rooted.
Just update framework and Login Component to Version 4.4.4 and delete the data from store and Services and everything should be fine.

Updating all manually to the newest kitkat version does seem to do it (though, I only just did it). Didn't even check the versions as I assumed they auto-updated as well. Should last a bit longer now till that version is too old.
Good catch. Thanks.

Not sure if people are still following this thread but I thought to share. I was able to sideload Amazon music unlimited. It disables native music app but doesn't launch using the same app link. I need to use ES Explorer's App library function to select and launch. Otherwise it works well. Not sure if the audible app would work the same.

Apps Not Automatically Updating

I'm not sure if this is an issue with the Pixel 2 XL or an Android OS bug but it's happening on my Pixel 2 XL so I'm adding here.
I have the Google Play Store app set to automatically update apps when connected to WiFi but apps are not updating. I've been connected to my home wifi for several hours and there are still apps waiting to update.
Anyone else having this issue?

I feel like it automatically downloads when on WiFi and connected to power even though there's no setting for power connected.

I'm having this issue too....mine doesn't auto update...even when connected to power and wifi.
I have the same problem. I've literally tried everything I could think of.
Yes! Bump! I've actually been having this problem as far back as February (at least that's around when I noticed) and had been meaning to make a thread, but hadn't gotten to it 'til now; and XDA showed this thread when I was creating so, I'll be pleading here...
I, too, FOR THE LIFE of me can't correct this...!
My setup: running Oreo 8.1 May update, rooted, Flash kernel, TWRP 3.2.1-2 custom recovery, a few Magisk modules (see sig).
Troubleshooting: rebooted, plugged phone in, allowed all permissions and ability to modify system settings, I've changed it to auto-update apps "at any time" (both mobile data & wi-fi), when updating to May patch I wiped the System partition and flashed the May Full Factory image, cleared Play Store app cache, cleared Play Store app data, uninstalled Play Store updates, Disabled Play Store - then Enabled, uninstalled Google Play Services updates / reset to factory version, and finally manually updated Google Play Services.
Anyone, any thoughts/ideas/advice?! I had hoped the last 3 months' security patch updates might fix this, but since it hasn't, my last hope is here...! :begging:
P.S. I am hoping that flashing a full factory image with the -w intact/included is not the last and only option...

I've said it before that, for me at least, I've noticed it only auto updates when plugged in even if I have plenty of battery like greater than 50%. I'm set to auto update on WiFi only. I'll go into the app store and see I have a handful of update, plug in, and see them to start downloading.

I eventually noticed as well that it only updates when plugged in. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with how charged the battery is but I haven't looked too closely at that.
....yea...I've also plugged in as well, i'll edit to reflect that...
...BUT I think I'm onto something...does anyone/everyone that has this problem have Titanium Backup installed and running btw???
Same, only auto updates when plugged in...
I always have Titanium which is running normally... Awesome app!
Yea...I get that apps are really only automatically updating when plugged in. But assuming even that isn't allowing apps to automatically update....
i'm more wondering if @upperbladez and @smokeythebear3 have Titanium Backup installed; as that's what was stopping the updating the apps automatically....

Yeah...I had really high hopes earlier as well, but found that it wasn't TB. Because there is a setting in the preferences that deals with auto-updating and it seems that, by default, it sets it to Disabled, but even after Enabling it, it hasn't gotten auto-update to work.
I had inadvertently thought it worked because, at the same time as the TB discovery, I reset to factory settings both Google Play Store and Google Play Services (as I have many times before). This seems to have the auto-update work once, but I can't get it to replicate or do it again after this first initial time. Also, it's hard to debug, troubleshoot, and test because I have to wait some time for a number of apps to need updating before I can see if it truly works or not.
I hope someone has an idea or thought that might explain why or help reach an explanation...

Yeah it's so agitating?
I think I figured it out....[GUIDE] included!
I think I figured it out (at least in my case) -- but I think it's probably applicable to most any other(s) who are having the same issue...
First of all, if you have Titanium Backup, make sure to set Default auto-update app to Enabled
Go to Menu
Preferences
Go to Restoration Settings
You will find Default auto-update mode in the section; 4th on the list within that section
Go to Google Play Store App Info
Clear Cache (inside Storage)
Clear Data (also inside Storage)
Disable the app
Click OK when warned that it will "replace this app with the factory version..."
Go to Settings, Apps & Notifications, See all ### apps
At the top right, select the 3 verticle dots and select "Show system"
Find and select Google Play Services
Clear Cache
Go back to App Info (back arrow; arrow pointing left), at the top right, select the 3 vertical dots and select "Uninstall updates"
Click OK when warned that it will "replace with the factory version..."
Reboot
Download the latest Google Play Services
HERE'S one place you can find it and/or you can Google search to find other copies yourself...
Pick the newest latest version (beta if you wish to be on bleeding edge but stability not ensured)
Choose the Android 8.0+ variant
Download the "arm64 + arm" & "nodpi" one
Install the latest Google Play Services using the file you downloaded
Reboot
Go back to Google Play Services App Info (show all ### apps, show system, etc.)
Clear Cache (of Google Play Services)
Go back to "show all ### apps"
Select the drop-down menu and select Disabled
Select Google Play Store
Clear Cache and Data (of Google Play Store inside Storage)
Plug Phone to charger
Launch Google Play Store
Select the 3 stacked horizontal lines on the top left and go to Settings
Select and configure how you wish to auto-update apps
Click on Play Store version (all the way on the bottom)
After pressing OK (it'll most likely say Play Store will update soon), it may or may not begin downloading components for the Play Store. After a bit, it may or may not actually begin auto-updating...
In the few instances I've done this and on the 2 pixel 2's I have access to, the auto-updating may begin soon after (within 2 minutes), or eventually (sorry for vague description, but I had thought these steps didn't work and wasn't paying attention and after a while, I saw it auto-updating!).
Also, it still seems that it'll auto-update only while plugged in charging. That particular bug/requirement hasn't been resolved, but as this is specifically an auto-update troubleshooting thread.......
Hope this helps any/all who is having the same issue. I hope (but am doubtful) that this will work for everyone; but if it doesn't, I'd have to say that it might be something with your ROM (stock or custom), settings (system or another app interfering [As I found out TB actually might/does]), or some very unique bug because this is probably the most comprehensive app reset for Google Play. It's kind of overkill, but you might have some luck going the "last resort" route and flashing the Full Factory image in hopes it'll fix the system and app comparability issues (if that is indeed the reason...).
In the end, I hope this helps any who might be having this issue....:victory::highfive:
I have this same issue. I tried wiping Google Play cache/data and had a hell of a time getting it to show my installed apps after that. I don't have TB installed so I'm not really sure what's going on. It's a PITA having to manually update apps all the time.

Yeah....but maybe uninstalling Google Play store (not just cache and data and actually reverting to an older version) and doing the same (sorta) towards Google Play Services is the critical difference (as shown in my guide)... Hopefully that sorts ya out...!:good:
Good luck to ya!
I'm set to auto update over WiFi, and I've never actually paid attention.. but my apps are always updated and I get the notification stating that 13 apps were updated... So it must be working on my end?

Yes, that's "the dream" . For us/me, that wasn't happening -- for whatever reason; whether it was set to do it over WiFi or both mobile & WiFi.
I used to not pay attention either, until I went and checked and kept finding a list of 50+ apps needing to update and/or all these apps were outdated every 3 or so days! Then I realized I hadn't been getting that which you are experiencing... And, as @corywf as stated, it can get quite tedious and annoying having to manually "Update all" every few days just to keep all the apps up-to-date! (Curious note: I never realized how many times in a small number of days certain apps actually update; it's like every 2 days! Which is nice and good to say towards the app as the devs are continuously working on it -- Instagram, Nextdoor, and Chrome come to mind -- but certainly rather annoying when manually "keeping up") Especially when we've all experienced these things happening automatically and in the background...
I had this issue since the Feb or March update I think but since flashing the May update, apps are back to updating automatically

That's good! I believe it was around the same time I noticed the issue as well (although as said in my last post, this is usually something that is in the background and done automatically so I can only say it was around this point). I'm glad flashing the latest update worked -- I'm wondering, did you flash a Full Factory or an OTA? -- and hopefully it works for others. But, unfortunately, I had Full Factory flashed to the May update with no such luck. It took my guide (a little up above) to fix it on me and my gf's Pixel 2 (non-XL)...
Cheers! :highfive::victory::good:

Android Auto

It was suggested I come over here and see what's going on. I've got a 5t with Oxygen.
I've never been able to get Android Auto to load, once. It always says "Something went wrong - Google Play services doesn't' seem to be working right now."
I can't Force Stop the Google Play services, or deactivate it. I've cleared my cache. I don't have a Android Device Management App installed either.
I enrolled and updated to the Google Play services Beta, but haven't still can't force stop it either.
Where do I go from here?
I don't know about this issue.
But I can say I use Android auto daily in my car and have no issues.
I have a Volkswagen caddy 2017 and use ob3
I sideloaded the app because it is not officially released in my country. I use version 3.0.
@dashbarron,
I have the exact same problem . I've also gone the play services beta route with no joy. I've tried literally every possible solution I've come across on the web, still no joy. I can't get past this.
Did you ever get AA to work? How?

I don't know if you have used Android auto before, so maybe you really like it and my advise maybe of no use to you. But while it is good to use, I soon reverted back to using split screen, top half for nav and bottom half to easily switch between music or radio or whatever else you want, even set up a YouTube video before you get going if it's something that doesn't require your focus on it, with gestures it's safer than messing around with the complicated controls in my car! And I have the plug in version of Android auto built into the car, I literally only plug it in when I have my daughter's on board so they can call out ok Google for whatever tune they want on. Anyway that's how I roll when driving and I'm driving all day everyday, hope maybe I saved u some time getting it working

Play store issue and Netflix on Android 10

Seems the phone with 10 it's "uncertified device", I checked magisk hide, wiped play store storage, rebooted and... still no Netflix, but most importantly certified device is ****ing gone! No more section under play store settings! Any ideas?
The Netflix issue has existed for months and is unrelated to 10. Do a search, and you will see my name all over the posts. As for the device not certified issue, hide Play Store with Magisk clear cache and data and then uninstall updates so it reverts to factory Play Store which will update and certify..

I did everything again, also uninstalled the updates like u say (I didn't try it before) and nothing changed, the strange thing is this, look the screenshot, the certified section under settings in the store is completely gone!
EDIT: I've installed an old apk and now when I've open the play store link of the app it's says "the application it's not compatible anymore"
I did some testing on this in another thread and it seems the issue is the unlocked bootloader. Has little or nothing to do with the Playstore being certified which mine is.. and still can't install Netflix from the store. I sideloaded on the final version of 10 and Netflix does work.. But it's still a hassle.

DvLAx3l - From what I have seen, when it shows neither certified or not it is actually certified and just waiting for the next play store update to trigger it. Not certified is an issue. It may be that when you installed 10 the play store version was already at that one. Tap on the version number, and that will check to see if what you have is the latest and if not queue it up for change. When it does change, you might have to go through the steps again of hide, clear cache and data and remove updates to get it to trigger. I have been through this a bunch of times including finally getting it to work the other day when the update finally pushed.
jbarcus81 - Unfortunately it is something beyond the BL unlock since that is masked my every custom kernel and it remains an issue. It appears to be related to the device, the OS and the BL state at least. I have wondered out loud if Google tracks the BL status by individual device and records the status based on lock and unlock changes. Bottom line is that certified doesn't mean jack anymore. It is basically low hanging fruit while things like GPay and Netflix are looking well past that.
Just wait a few days and play store will update the app.
Like u guys said, everything is work now! Thanks ?

Question Google Assistant: Cannot reach Google at the moment.

My Google Assistant suddenly stopped working. Whenever I tried to issue a command, it returns "Cannot reach Google at the moment.".
Tried in my old phone, there are no problems.
Tried restarting but the problem still persists.
Anyone experienced this? Any solution?
HI YOU HAVE MANY WAYS TO FIX THAT
1-TRY FORCE CLOSE GOOGLE ASSISTANCE AND CLEAR ALL DATA AND CACHE .
2-IF YOU ARE USING A DATA PACKAGE ,USE A VPN
IF THOSE METHODS DON'T WORK UNINSTALL APP AND REINSTALL IT

Tried, didn't work.
Same here, brand new Pixel 6. Go into Assistant settings, scroll all the way down to "Your Apps (manage how Assistant works with installed apps)." Click on the Chrome browser and make sure "let your assistant choose this browser" is checked on. THEN, in the same settings, go to whatever other browsers you have installed and UNCHECK those.
Apparently Assistant got confused by too many options. (it might work if you check another browser and uncheck Chrome, but I quit playing with it once it was working again.)

Did this one but didn't work. Also, I only have Chrome as browser so I guess this isn't the problem.

Tried uninstalling, rebooting and re-updating the Google app. The Assistant is working again but Continued Conversations doesn't work. There were also times after I did this, the problem returned.
I had the same problem yesterday and fixed it by doing the following:
Google app->settings->Google Assistant->Assistant Voice-> and switch Phone to full.
I also purchased universal safetynet fix 2.2 and now pass Safetynet. Did both in conjunction with each other so that combo should work if you are rooted with the correct Magisk Canary.

ok i forgot to off capital letteres
I have struggled with this recently. Here's what worked for me. I noticed that on cellular it worked, but on my WiFi it did not although it had in the past. The trick was to go into WiFi settings and tell it not to randomly change the Mac address (use Device MAC). I suppose that -- maybe only with some routers -- the changing MAC is upsetting the NAT translation and your phone is making an outbound connection but that's just a theory.
I had the same problem, had used adaway and blocked some dns requests, cleared these and Hey Google worked again. Cheers.
Usually, the only times I have trouble with the Assistant this way are when I get in my car, hook it up for Android Auto, and in my driveway, I'm kinda in range of my Wi-Fi but not very well. It doesn't usually take very long for my phone to switch to mobile data on its own in this situation (and it took my Samsung way longer), but once it establishes a reliable connection via mobile data, then it's fine.
Necro'd thread to post POSSIBLE FIX:
Go into Developer options and disable 'App Wi-Fi Multi/Broadcasting Filter'. I'd turned it on randomly and forgotten, and have been suffering ever since. Turning it back off allows the app to connect to the internet, despite your phone being locked until standby.
Going off to cross-post this elsewhere because I've searched SO many pages trying to find a fix, and nobody mentioned trying this.
