Watch 3 pro is not receiving harmonyos 2.1 update - Huawei Watch

Hello,
my watch 3 pro is stuck at version 2.0.0.216 and does not receive the 2.1 update.
No update is shown on the watch (also with wifi on and Bluetooth off) or the health app.
I have the latest health (12.1.8.310) and hms core (6.7.0.302) from the appgallery on a realme smartphone. I already tried different configurations: uninstalling the apps, without hms core (login out and back in), resetting the watch, using a different device (xiaomi) but the update won't show.
My device is HUAWEI WATCH 3 Pro-C45 model GLL-AL01 on build 2.0.0.216(SP2C432E216R1P216) and I am in the French region.
Do you ave any suggestion?

Same here.
Also in France.

The Huawei support service replied:
Thank you for reaching out. Kindly be advised that system update for Huawei Watch 3 Pro in Europe region will be released today (09/20/2022), however, please know that system update will be released in batches hence, not every device will receive the update in one go.
To ensure that you are able to receive the system update for your device, kindly ensure that your watch is connected to your phone and connected to the internet. Thank you for choosing Huawei. Have a great day.

@candas68 please let me know if and when you receive the update

oh great news, thank for sharing
I'll let you know if I receive it

Hi,
I have exactly the same problem with my Huawei Watch 3 Pro. Also the same version (2.0.0.216). I have understood that Huawei have already released multiple firmware updates during this year but I guess that haven't included Europe. I'm in Finland btw.

@candas68 any news?
No update on my side, I sent another message to Huawei support to see how to proceed, let's see...

No, nothing from my side.
Event tried to trick Huawei Health by using a chinese Huawei ID, using a fake gps location in china, nothing worked.

Probably the Watch is tagged as EU in its firmware and is not health application dependant

But still looks like some other people in EU get the update.

I bought another watch 3 pro from Amazon warehouse and it updated right away up to harmonyos 2.1.0.239. The watch is also from the French region and nothing changed on the smartphone (same health and HMS core apps I was using with the other watch).
I am always more convinced that there is some sort of bug (probably server side) which prevents our watch to receive the updates from Huawei...

I had huawei support on the chat, they tell me I should just wait...
I was thinking they might have a way to whitelist my IMEI on the server or something but no...

Im having the same problem i got stuck in version 2.0.0.216 in Belgium.. Is there any solution available to this?

It seems that most of the people having problems with updating are on the version 2.0.0.216. There could be a bug on the server preventing the update from that version. Hopefully Huawei will fix it soon.
I also contacted Huawei support. They told me to wait for the latest update which might take a while since it will be rolled out country by country.

I also contacted them in the live chat they told me that 2.0.0.216 was the last version but of course thats not the case. I also realize that the last update i had was on december last year so its almost a year with any updates... So i start to lose hope. The only solution i find is to go to a huawei repair center I read some people need to change the motherboard... I hope thats not the case.

Also stuck at 2.0.0.216. I contacted them via chat, and got confirmation that 2.1.6 should be latest in my region (Finland). My phone is Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 and somehow I have a feeling that using Huawei phone for the update might do the trick. Customer service advised me to send the watch to repair service (For free. They even send the package material at my addres.) 'cos there isn't one in the city I live in. This kind of bug is really annoying, but their customer service is suprisingly good so it kind of balances my slight angre lol.

No, I am using a Huawei Mate 20 Pro, and still no update for me.

Alright, thought that I should give a little update here. So, I actually contacted the official Huawei maintenance service in Helsinki, which is a third party btw, and gave my watch for them for an investigation. Got it back the next day with a note that it already has the latest firmware and nothing appears to be wrong with it. Have to say that I am a bit confused now since some users are already on version 2.1 and some are still stuck on 2.0. Oh well, I guess I have to keep waiting.

Oiii

I also ended up sending my Watch 3 to this third party service in Helsinki because of GPS connection was bad as hell and it was stuck to 2.0.0. Just got my watch back and they changed the motherboard (new model Galileo-L11E which is the latest!) and now it updates to 2.1.0.239 and the GPS connection is much more stable!

For those who were in the version 2.0.0.216, any update?
My Watch is still in that version

Some news about EMUI 3.0 Official International update (Europe)

Hello guys,
A few weeks ago I've asked the admin of the page huaweinews.com about when are Huawei planning to release the official EMUI 3.0 for the rest of the world (International Frimware).
He told me this:
A representative from Huawei Serbia told me that the official update for Europe will start rolling out in March, It is also possible that the Android 5.0 update for P7 will come then.

So I just wanted to share these news with you. Hopefully they are true... I just get pissed-off of waiting for this update.
So another thing is immediately after he responded me, I've asked him are Huawei planning to release a Android 5.0 update for our phone. And that I am asking, because our phone is more than capable of running Android 5. And since it is the most selled Huawei phone in the world, I think they should update it to Lollipop too!
Now we are waiting for further response to my second question, but meanwhile we can discuss the upcoming release.
Cheers!

We will get the EMUI 3.0 update sooner or later... It is only a mater of time, but the point is that waiting is killing me.

Yes, that is what I said to him. P7 is not so better then our phones. And so we must get some 5.0 update also! The only problem is, that our phone is just an older model. But I am an optimist and I think that there is very good chance of use getting the 5.0! Besides from Huawei never denied anything connected with P6 Lollipop upgrade, so that leave us some hopes about it.

Regarding EMUI 3.0 - Chineese B709 (with removed Chineese apps) works just fine here in Croatia.. As I'm concerning, Huawei don't need to rush with int. version.
But certanly, I would like to see lolipop on my phone, and hopefuly we will get it sooner or later. The priority of Huawei is to bring 5.0 on P7 first, and I think after that, they just need to addopt it to work on our P6. But the sad thing is, if this will happen, it will be as soon as end of this yerar, not before!
Thanks.
The wait for international emui3.0 had been too long.
Far too long.

Common Huawei!!! We are waiting for far too long, guys!!!
Yesterday I've update my friends Huawei G6 to EMUI 3.0 official ROM. So even the G6 have the EMUI 3.0 already and this phone is a lower class than ours!!! What is happening? Huawei P7 is on EMUI 3.0 already too!!! G6 before P6??? Common... This is not serious...
Looks like huawei doesn't care to P6 anymore.
We have been wating far too long for EMUI 3.0 Europe for P6.
Our patience is running out. Huawei doesn't care to costumers.
At least you guys in Europe get OTA updates, so you'll most likely get EMUI3.0 sometime soon.
I haven't received one OTA update since getting my device almost 2 years ago. We're also "stuck" on B510 (from the Huawei ZA website), so we don't get any bug fixes either.
Huawei South Africa seems to not care about us. Oh, and another thing, we don't have any carrier settings either, so we basically just have a general firmware without any optimization for our carriers, so no boot animation either.

Yep, but the branding can easily be removed with root. I'd rather have an OTA update with bug fixes, than have to keep downloading an update that is 1gb big.
I just want to be able to update my phone with a firmware that is suitable for my region.
Have contacted Huawei uk, they said that there won't be any further updates to the p6 in the uk, however EMUI 3.0 may come to other countries in Europe!

I will inform you guys if they tell me anything. But if there is not gonna be any update for Europe this will the most stupid thing ever.
But from other side I can understand them - why to update old phone, when you can update the new ones and by this to force the consumers to buy them instead of staying with their old phones. This guys must cell phones...
I Hope someone from huawei reads this.
If there is no lollipop update for the P6, I promise you this will be my last Huawei device, We paid a lot of money for this phone, it has all the hardware requirements for lollipop and has a huge user base. But i will not buy a phone again that has this poor and pathetic after sale service and poor attitude from huawei, we supported you and bought your device, the least you can do is update the phone every once in a while and when a new OS comes out which is compatible with the hardware, give us the option to upgrade.
So i say again, and i believe im not alone on this, if there is no longer updates on this device, this will be my last Huawei and i will always recommend other devices to clients.

This is true. It will also be my first but last Huawei device. Huge disappointment for me from the support of the phone. As you said - most of the same yeared phones already have Lollipop. I hope just when huawei release some Lillipop ROM for some other device, developers will port it to P6.
I will rellay only on custom roms for Lillipop...

It's such a pity that there haven't even been any updates to the Chinese version of EMUI 3.0 since December.

Oreo update starts rolling out today!

Good news guys Looks like Google is giving us treats for the holiday season.
https://www.gsmarena.com/android_wear_devices_to_get_oreo_update_starting_today-news-28614.php
I'm guessing that every watch that is supported by AW2.0 will also be getting Oreo update. Yes, original Huawei watch is already beyond the 2 year support period but i don't think that the same rules goes for watches like it's usually the case with phones. Do you think original HW will be getting Oreo? I mean, we got new security update some days ago so it's still supported
I hope so,waiting for the update in a month.
In comments on articles about this, people have been reporting even the original Moto 360 is already getting this. I'm not sure the relationship between android version and android wear code but maybe it's pretty easy to merge the Oreo updates with the manufacturer's code now that they are on AW 2.0.

The fact that we got a security update doesn't mean much. There were some pretty high profile vulnerabilities that needed patching (KRACK, etc.).

That sucks :/ I kinda knew this would happen eventhough i was optimistic and hopeful that Huawei Watch still gets it. So, it's finally the end of software support for our beloved original HW **** you, you ugly ass HW2!
Can someone explain this End Of Life situation though...? The Huawei Watch is STILL on sale via Huawei's direct website! Surely they shouldn't be selling a watch without providing the software support seriously!? I thought the deal was 2 years after the device goes on sale or 18 months after it stops being on sale (whichever is longer).
I think this statement needs to be reiterated to Huawei and Google.
Also I bought the watch thinking the support life would be alot longer than a phone... People don't buy +£200 watches for only 2 years usage.
This "policy" may have just made me decide that I'm not interested in Android Wear anymore... Even my Pixel 2 will have a longer shelf life!
EOL is not here yet, just no Oreo. This is near the bottom of the article.
Some of the watches dropped from support include the ASUS ZenWatch 2 and 3, the original Fossil Q Founder, the LG G Watch R/Urbane/Urbane LTE, the second-gen Moto 360 and 360 Sport, and the original Huawei Watch. Those watches will continue to get Android Wear updates (like the recent v2.6 update) through the Play Store, but the underlying Android version will be stuck on Nougat.

The only one for the HW1 is discontinued. The dev's watch died and Huawei gave him a watch 2. If another dev steps up, yes, but since there was only one and that dev does not plan to continue.
The thing is I only love the look of HV1 watch. Most stylish. There is no other V2 watch out there that comes close.
I have a Huawei Mate 10 running Oreo so it's a shame my watch won't match my phone.

Well actually, just staying on wear 2 isn't a bad option, it still works wonderfully.
I agree. The more that Huawei Watch (1) is still officially on sale and is more expensive in stores than Huawei Watch 2.
I've made a post on their Swedish FB-site, here in Sweden it is still actively sold by two of Huawei's recommended resellers advertised at Huawei's site.
Can we figure out if the 18 months after sale claim is valid for Wear as well as regular Android? And was this formulated before or after the launch of the Watch?
I spoke to Huawei Technical Service. They do not have anywhere indicated that they provide support for 18 months from purchase / production. They claim that it depends on Google - not from them. They do not guarantee anything
It's a pity, because I have their P9 Plus smartphone and Watch 1 smartwatch and I think it makes the highest-class flagship.

Honor 8 Pro (C432), still no Oreo...

Hey guys,
I've been using my Honor 8 Pro for a year now, I really like it.
But there's a side to Honor/Huawei that I really dislike and that is the lack of software support/updates. I've been waiting for the Oreo update for months now and still nothing. Even worse, I'm still on B185 and check for updates every day and never an update available. We're almost in April and this seems like just lazy company policy. "Screw those 1 year old phones" or something like that.
However, I have been reading on a lot of forums that a lot of people in Europe (C432) have already received the update... What's the holdup? I don't really understand this rollout in phases and how they select IMEIs for receiveing the updates...
Anyone able to tell me what's going on with this? It feels like I'm in a Monty Python's joke or something!
Thanks in advance!
Same here. Looks like nobody in Spain had received the OTA either.
Same here, I'm in Malaysia(C636), still oreo update, although just received B189 update.
Has anyone in Sweden got Oreo ?

It doesn't work because the firmware is IMEI linked, so once downloaded you can't install it if your IMEI is not in the list. And if it was in the list, you had had received the OTA. It makes no sense, I know.
Thanks everyone for the responses.
I've tried getting in touch with Huawei/Honor customer support and they're useless... No info whatsoever.
I probably will sell the phone and buy something else, which leaves me a bit sad because I really like this phone... No more Honor or Huawei for me. They're very bad when it comes to software/security updates.
Again thank you everyone for your input!

The update pretty good from me. Bought since july last year, received july, august, september, november, january up until february security patch along with oreo emui 8.0. Yeah i just receive oreo 2 days ago... its pretty late but never mind as its pretty much the same... The only best thing for me is the Game Suite app and can change screen resolution to FHD... Better games frame rate. I'm from Malaysia.

Samsung abandoning Galaxy Watch LTE (SM-R8x5F) support?

NOTE: Either it has been a f***ing big time coincidence, or it was triggered on Samsung servers somehow (?) by trying to download the firmware to my notebook using SAMFIRM (it was identified, R805FXXU1ESI1, but failed to download), or Samsung reacted real quick to this post, but anyway in a matter of hours after posting this I'm getting the September update through the official channel (Galaxy Wearable app). The updates below were posted before this very note. Just installed. Loving the new look and all features and corrections I mentioned are there! At the time of this writing the online documentation (https://doc.samsungmobile.com/SM-R805F/ZTA/doc.html) still points to the February update (R805FXXU1DSB3, posted in May). EDIT: the update introduced a known bug, one that makes the watch disconnect while updating bundled apps and the update stalls. I guess this may be why Samsung was holding back the updates. OMG. A patch that solves a problem but introduces another. Like Microsoft with "Windwoes" 10.
UPDATE: now it doesn't even serve as a watch. It entered Daylight Savings Time, which has been abolished in the country, and the time settings option is grayed out. Well done, "Sam-Jong"!
UPDATE 2: it looks like there are builds for all regions up to September, but Sam-Jong is lazy enough not to publish them. Just change the region code (ZTA) in the link below and check it.
http://fota-cloud-dn.ospserver.net/firmware/ZTA/SM-R805F/version.test.xml
UPDATE 3: there is even an October update for region TGY:
http://fota-cloud-dn.ospserver.net/firmware/TGY/SM-R805F/version.test.xml
Samsung is holding off these releases for some obscure reason. One of them could be sabotaging Galaxy Watch to favor the Active lineup, like they did to the Note 9 to favor the Note 10.
***
I have an expensive Galaxy Watch LTE, a high-end product, bought at Claro/Brazil this week, national/legal, model SM-R805F.
I've read that it received an update that allows it to monitor outdoor swim training (at the sea), so I bought the model.
The problem is that, even after the firmware update, it does not offer this function, nor several others that have been announced. The lag in step count in walks goes uncorrected.
I did some research and found out that this same model (SM-R805F) received an update abroad in May, which is already outdated, but here there's no update since February, even more outdated.
What's the reason behind this disrespect towards Brazil, and especially towards the LTE variant, top of the line? The BT variant (model SM-R800, without LTE) was updated here in September. So LTE here is at least 7 months behind BT.
LTE for me is a requirement.
Here follows Samsung's own update documentation.
Germany (DBT Region, carrier-free):
https://doc.samsungmobile.com/SM-R805F/DBT/doc.html (May firmware)
Brazil (ZTA [Claro] and ZVV [Vivo]):
https://doc.samsungmobile.com/SM-R805F/ZTA/doc.html (February firmware)
https://doc.samsungmobile.com/SM-R805F/ZVV/doc.html (February firmware)
The ZTO region (Brazil, carrie-free) does not exist for this model, the following page does not exist:
https://doc.samsungmobile.com/SM-R805F/ZTO/doc.html
although the model is reported on sale by the Samsung Brazil page. It never existed, was never available for sale. Samsung says on its page that it is available in its own stores, but that has not left the papers. I went to several stores and the answer is always the same: "only available at the carriers".
The ZTO region only exists for the BT variant:
https://doc.samsungmobile.com/SM-R800/ZTO/doc.html (September firmware).
I've tried all the way to contact Samsung, chat, Samsung Members app and etc, I tried the number 0800-942-9060, a number that a store dealer gave me, but when I call during office hours a recorded voice informs you that at the moment they cannot answer, and at other times it informs you to call during office hours. A real booby trap.
All the answers I received by the other means were "we can do nothing". They don't even give a justification for what is happening.
I have a laptop, a TV, wired and wireless chargers, a dock, a tablet and a Note, all recent, all Samsung tops, but apparently the king has laid in splendid cradle and thinks he can abandon the user that bets in the company's products.
I am responsible for IT in a growing business, I recently recommended buying more than a dozen Samsung Expert X30 laptops for employees, but I am reviewing this recommendation.
As I said in the note topping the post, the watch finally got a firmware update. But it introduced a known bug, one that makes the watch disconnect while updating bundled apps and the update stalls. I guess this may be why Samsung was holding back the updates. OMG. A patch that solves a problem but introduces another. Like Microsoft with "Windwoes" 10.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones, Northeastern USA, Verizon 4G, watch (LTE) is SM-805U. Tizen 4.0.0.4, no issue, runs like a top....

So do I.
Did any of you report the problem to Samsung? If yes, what is the best channel? Samsung Members?

The problem is localized. Brazil this time. It surfaced on other countries previously and was corrected.
But it seems Samsung didn't resist keeping its bad reputation with this watch and included the bug on the September update released this early November (2 months late). Gosh.
It's been 20 days since the cursed update and still no word from Samsung other than covering up for all the holes I depicted in this post.
A device that can't update its most meaningful app is something between lameness and insult.

welcome to the club. except on my 805w, the app update issue has been going on since june or july's update or something.
also posting and expecting any resolution on xda will not yeild any support on the issue. samsung members and forums would be the most productive way of going about this.
Mine hasnt even pulled the update from earlier in the year. I always said I would never buy Samsung again.

Raise a problem via Samsung members, with logs/ screenshot.
As far as I know, Gear side is still working on Tizen 3/4 on R8x5, so it maybe a problem from localization.

Thanks for trying to help, but I've already raised the whole problem via Samsung Members, XDA, Reddit, the whole lot.
Since it's a long-dwelling, well-known and widespread bug, with thousand of complaints worldwide since it started appearing (and being corrected region-wise/variant-wise for a few random regions/variants), I wasn't supposed to *need* to report anything.
But in this post I reported the DNA of the bug *and* of the lack of support for the LTE variant, and also denounced an evident, just-in-time cover-up by Samsung for the latter.
So there's a plethora of detail here *and* from thousands of baffled users, so what's the point in posting pictures/logs? Had Samsung just picked a SM-R805FZSAZTA unit (in my case), upgraded the OS, factory reset it and tried to update the apps, and *fail* at that, it would have a *live* case to work on, with much more detail than a user could ever provide.
BTW Samsung's standard procedure through Samsung Members in publicly well-known cases is more psychological than technical: ask for pictures and logs to make the user believe the matter is being dealt with when it's actually just buying time. Samsung Members in most cases is *useless*. But Samsung just can't say "Sorry, it's a well-know problem, but due to the lack of standardization and centralization in dealing with our products' issues we're lost and haven't done much since the problem appeared. Some random, lucky regions/variants of the product have been contemplated with a solution, but because it's a mess here we've just introduced the bug again, this time in your region/variant, and it will take some awful time until your product's region/variant catches up".
Some issues can only be resolved when a few big heads roll.

Any one can tell me why Samsung Singapore Update verry slow?

I have Galaxy Note 10+. Software provider is SIN/XSC Singapore. I still not received Android 10 update. Also Galaxy S10 Series user still not get Android 10. 2 weeks now. Any one can tell me why Singapore update verry slow? Please tell me they send us Android 10?
Be patient. Malaysia just got the update
Yes i know malayasia already got the Android 10. But Singapore still not. Also S10 series users not get the update 3 weeks now ?
There are many, many countries not receiving the update untill now, I dont see why singapore should be among the first receiving it, or whatever

It takes as long as it takes... If you don't have the unlocked (the model that pulls it's updates straight from Samsung) variant for your region/country then your carrier has to approve the update before you get it.
Just be patient, lol.. I know it can be hard to do, but your not the only person who hasn't gotten the update. Spectrum Mobile hasn't given it's approval yet, so we still haven't gotten it. In fact we are still on the November security patch.
Honestly, after getting Android 10, there is not much excitements. I don't like the new gesture and I prefer to use One Hand Operation +. And I can't use with Nova launcher.
Force dark mode makes Facebook really weird and doesn't work on WhatsApp.
Other updates are just minor updates.
The only good thing for me is it fixes google messages rcs function
Ok thanks for your comments. Im from sri lanka my friends i mean note10+ users ( Not SIN/XSP ) they got update yesterday. Im the only one not get the update. Very late updates from samsung Singapore ?

I've talked to Singapore support and they said we will receive it in Feb. Unbelievable!!!!!
Unbelievable indeed. Most all other countries have it. I'm tempted to install 1 of the Android 10 ROM's that are already out "if" I can do so without having the base firmware installed 1st.
Well, dont be so anxious... Android 10 has some really annoying unresolved issues, it is already available in my country, but I blocked the updates, I am waiting for when all issues reported by many users are ironed out, so, in the end maybe it is a blessing for you that in your country is not available yet...
100% agree! I heard good lock is not working on android 10.

Android 10 just released in Australia this afternoon. Im on Vodafone with a Samsung direct supply device and just got the update by checking manually.
Version is N975FXXU1BSLA
https://doc.samsungmobile.com/SM-N975F/XSA/doc.html
Im glad i root it. I bought note 10+ coz of starhub promotions. And was disappointed not only official release is lack behind and trust me in near future too. But lack of third party roms kernels. Aosp havoc os etc. * U could use other countries csc or official release as long as same model.
