Hello guys,
I have a problem encrypting my mobile phone. I've just installed Lineage and Gapps and now I wanted to start encryption because it was supposed to be unencrypted (as can be seen in the attachment).
My phone is fully charged and plugged in. I started the process and it also shuts down. Then the Android logo appears, but only for 2 seconds and the phone reboots into Lineage.
I've already tried to find solutions, but unfortunately without success.
I hope someone can help me.
I should mention that I'm not a developer or programmer. But I understand the simplest things and step-by-step instructions are no problem either. So I would be very grateful if you would explain things to me as simply as possible.
Regards,
reynex

Sorry if the post has already been mentioned in another forum before.
I have an O2 XDA Orbit and i'm looking to put Fracoons Artermis rom on it http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...o♦.
I'm pretty new to flashing phones and PDA's but i'm quite experienced with a PC so shouldnt need to much help!
I was wondering what steps I should ensure to take to make sure that I dont turn it into a brick, I could do with a complete guide! I've also been told that i'll need to run the Artermus USPL program after connecting the phone. But any help and advice would be a great help. Is there anyway to backup the phone in the state it is at present if or if it doesnt go wrong?
Thankyou for the help and sorry again i've this has already been asked by someone else! Will really appreciated it!
There is no assurance that the process will not make your device a brick. But it happens only on a rare case. Many 1000s of users have upgraded without problems however a few has got their devices a brick.
There is no point taking a backup as the new ROM will give you different files. Anyway, to make sure you don't end up with a bricked device:
-Charge your device fully
-Run USPL
-The process should complete successfully!
-Upgrade ROM.
-Never disconnect your Pocket PC or turn of your PC when the upgrade is going on.
-If your stuck anywhere, don't try to do anything stupid but come here and post.
-Your device should be fine
-Even if some devices get bricked during one of the upgrade process, there is still a high chance of bringing your device back to good working condition with the help of a Factory ROM and so don't worry and go ahead.

Carty..
that's my biggest concern so far... my XDA II SHOULD be able to run WM5 but i'm very concerned that i could turn it into a brick... the reason for this is: the XDA is the only phone i have at the moment.
If it bricks, then i'm literally screwed... i have the HimaUpgrade File that does not need an ID, and as i'm pretty fluent with English, i see no problem in using an English ROM.
The Wiki is a good place to start... but i still don't know if i REALLY need active sync to be running or not, since i cannot understand what good that would do if the device is in Bootloader Mode anyway.
Reason for this is that sometimes i read "Active Sync should be on" and sometimes i read the complete opposite... it's freaking me out.
Device should be Synchronized always for the best choice. All un-official ROMs will require this. However, factory ROMs can be flashed directly from Bootloader mode.
That is why I said when you think you screwed the process of upgrading, mostly your device will be stuck at bootloader or you can access bootloader screen and only a factory rom can go from here.
PS: I wont guarantee if the above will be true on all conditions.
Regards,
Carty..
I flash all my ROMs in bootloader mode, including my own, so it's not restricted to the official ROMs. But you need a working ROM to get it back alive.
I'd recommend using a laptop for flashing or use a USV. If some guys cut your power your computer would crash right in the middle of the flashing process - won't happen on a laptop with a working battery.
This is what I want to know. How do I flash in bootloader mode?
okay, i did it this way: first of all you need a rom to flash your device with, but i guess that should be clear
To put your device into Bootloader Mode you have to press the On/Off Button, the Directional Pad AND the reset button (mostly at the lower left corner) simultaneously.
Release the Reset Button first after about a second, and then the other two Buttons.
Your Device should say "Serial" on its Screen... by that time you can put your Device in the Cradle or connect it via a USB Datacable to your PC.
Also: connect the Cable/Cradle directly to your PC, not to a hub as that could cause Problems during the Flashing Process.
Now you can start the Flash-Program, wait approximately 30 Minutes (if you are just flashing the ROM and nothing else) and follow the Instructions that came with your ROM WORD FOR WORD as these instructions are working for most people.
I'm not saying that flashing is without Problems though... when i flashed my XDA II with WM2005 yesterday, i was not able to send/receive Textmessages (SMS), so i had to reflash the device again with the last ROM released by O2, which sucks.
Hi All -
I know this issue has been covered a million times but I am just completely overwhelmed with all the readings and videos I've watched over the last couple of days. I really tried to understand everything but with the lack of any trouble shooting experience with Android phones, I am completely lost.
Background:
-- like I said I have no knowledge in fixing these phones so all the research I've done so far has been really confusing. A lot of the technical
words I dont even understand.
-- I can navigate myself around my computer (windows 7)
-- My phone is HTC one X completely stock. It was working fine 2 days ago and all of sudden it rebooted itself and its been stuck on the
"HTC quietly brilliant" screen.........i will eventually shut down and back to the same screen again.
-- I tried the "Factory reset" option but it does not do anything when I press the power button.............. stays in the same screen
-- I tried "recovery" and "fastboot" options but it just goes back to the same loop.
Can someone please provide a link or a "guide for dummies" that is a "one stop shop" where I can get all the software I need to unbrick this phone? Maybe it already exist, I just did not recognize it.
My impression on the guides I've read are for experienced folks or at least for people who have done this once or twice in the past. Alot of this stuff is way over my head. I need a simple step by step procedure without the assumption that I know what I'm doing.''
I apologize for my ignorance but I just need your help. Thank you in advance.
My tablet is the WiFi only version. I had it unlocked and rooted previously.
So I downloaded the new 5.1.1 images, intending to finally switch to Lollipop, and I kept getting the "missing system.img" error when trying use the batch scripts.
So I found this guide:
http://www.talkandroid.com/guides/b...-lollipop-factory-image-on-your-nexus-device/
And tried to follow it to the letter.
Sadly, once I flashed the boot.img, the device wouldn't boot anymore and it won't show up in fastboot and adb.
I also can't seem to boot it into recovery mode. My volume down button is finicky so perhaps I'm not trying hard enough?
Is there anything that can be done?
Edit: Okay, I was being an easily-panicky moron. Stupid key. Must have tried it like 10+ times till it acknowledged my press.
All is fine... I think. Once it finishes optimizing a crap-load of apps.
So, after optimizing everything works fine?
Indeed it does. Marvellously.
Rooted, enjoying the latest of Android and even helped pinpoint the source of a long-standing problem I had with brightness.
It may even help battery life.
Same Problem still exists for me
I have the wifi only version and I seem to be at a loss now.
I cannot get into recovery no matter how many times I try
PC recognises device but as APX
Screen appears to be stuck on an image of Andy stood upright with a sort of hexagonal wire frame rotating in his belly with "erasing" underneath. Stays this way for hours/days and does not change. Have looked through all sorts of forums for help or do you guys think I should just give up??
ANY Help at all would be greatly appreciated
It seems that your device is toast Maybe your NAND storage is faulty and you will need to purchase a new mainboard

I had a booting problem as well but i was able to fix it with nexus root toolkit
Hello
Ok so here we are, I've explored the forum deeply to search for a solution for this, but it's always the same thing for every topic: Nothing works, the author apparently just gives up and let his topic go away, and in the better case get his phone replaced, but I travel and for some reason there is no LG support around my current city. So I told myself: "Why don't I create my own topic ? Maybe this one will be the one ?"
I bought my phone about 4-5 months ago
My phone is stuck in a boot loop, the logo would just appear 2 seconds, disappear 2 secs, reappear and so on before eventually running out of battery and shutdown. At first it started with some random annoying shutdowns when I use it, but now it has got worse. I can only use it when it's plugged. I've tried every single solution found on the web, nothing works. All of this happened since the last firmware update I did from the settings, it is now on lollipop 5.0 20h-ESA-XXX
I came here so maybe I can downgrade or install a custom ROM, because I haven't tried that yet. But there is more:
My PC won't recognize my phone, it just says that the device is not working properly, but I can charge and use it while it is plugged
Tried other computers, it would just disconnect and reconnect again and again. i tried different cables, same thing. Can't use it. Instead would just shutdown and start charging. That problem may come from the drivers that won't install properly because it is said that the MTP USB Device: Failed
Finally, I tried rooting from the phone and without a computer. Kingroot doesn't work, Stumproot doesn't work and anything else won't work either
Sometimes I feel like I am about to throw my LG against a wall.
Please, can anybody help me fixing this ?

Hi, today when i was trying to unroot my smt110 and something wierd happened. I couldnt find anything on the forums similar to my story. So this is what happened.
I was installing the stock rom through odin. Half way it said failed and my tablet changed from download mode to Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. The thing is that every forum said to restart it. My story is that my tablet want start without it being connected to power or usb. And if it is, it autoboots and loads this message but after 2-5 seconds the screen flickers and turns off. By this, I cant connect my device to my pc to install custom recovery and a custom rom to fix it.
Has anyone had a problem like this? Can someone help me?

Hi
I also have the T110 and am trying to get booting into Android again with a custom-rom for the device.
Your problem is very odd (strange) but i believe it is the way you are saying. If you can´t boot into download-mode that really sucks. Something is wrong with the firmware i think. Might be hard to fix.
Why did you want to unroot the Tab? Usually it is a good thing to have root-access. In my case i wanted to have a clean device without google-apps. Maybe you can take a look at my Thread and you can find an idea for a solution for your problem.
I hope there will be one.
Keep it up mate :good:

First i wanted to install some other rom. It didnt work so i tried going back to Criskelo. But the problem is that I couldnt find any good link to it (link on original thread is broken). So I decided to go and install the original firmware. And then this happened. As described, the tablet DOESN'T boot unless plugged into some power source. When i plug it, after 2 sec it boots STRAIGHT in the connect to kies or something like this screen. After 5 secs in this screen, it switches off and the whole process repeats. Can't connect it to the pc in any way.
