Yes, you can root on A13. There are several guides in the forum with instructions. Just click on the "How to Guides" tab in the Quick Filters at the top of the main Pixel 6 Pro forum page.

No one can predict if you will have any problems, but to ensure you don't, after you unlock the bootloader then next do this:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash bootloader --slot all bootloader.img
Substitute the name of your bootloader file (NOT boot.img) instead of "bootloader.img". Get the bootloader.img from inside the inner zip file that's in the latest Android 13 Stable (full) Factory Image from:
Factory Images for Nexus and Pixel Devices | Google Play services | Google for Developers
developers.google.com
Once you do that you'll be as safe as we should be. You only have to do that once, not every time you update your phone. You can do it every time if you choose to, but there's no reason to.
Latest SDK Platform Tools and Google USB Driver required.
Thanks! I'll try...
I also bought a phone from Japan while I live in Indo. Google lock indo 5G. I mean can we unlock that bro?

There is no difference in rooting A12 and A13. Just make sure you have, at the minimum, the A13 bootloader flashed to both slots. Information is in the guides on how to do that if you don't know.

All the how to original posts are updated frequently and give the best options for root. However, you seem nervous to follow them, part of the responsibility of having a rooted phone is being able to follow what are straight forward (if assuming of non novice status of the reader) steps.
An additional new topic would be redundant
I would recommend to anyone who wants a pain free experience rooting android 13 to use flashtool and download the factory image. Fastboot boot the patched boot image, direct install.

5G and VoLTE you will need to look at the very long and dedicated threads for this subject, I can't help because I don't have an issue with this,a nd haven't contributed to that thread for many months

I recently brought Rmn8p with miui 11.0.6 (global) , wait to unlock bootloader. After that flash preloader & lk then trwp and root.
I was wondering what's the difference between android 9 and android 10? Is it almost the same like I read at some post? Someone has updated to android 10 may share some viewpoints with us, thanks!
Already unlocked bootloader , root and xposed , phone recorder installed. Thanks to those pioneers.

Hey. I think this is widely discussed elsewhere. Just search for "MIUI Android 9 vs MIUI Android 10" in Google or YouTube. You'll find way more information there than you would ever find here regarding such generic topics. Have fun ?
Hi,
I have read many people moving regions or installing different regions ROM. I have a 9 pro with latest IND update. I would like to try the Android 12 based OxygenOS 12 US version.
I bought the phone when I visited
India but I live in US.
Is there a step by step guide to do this? If this is too Risky I am happy to switch to OxygenOS 11 US version.
I am a newbie in this space. I will much appreciate if you could pls be elaborate with your response.

Just download Open Beta zip to root of storage, then select it in local update (press three dots on update page)
You don't need unlock or third party tool.
Actually, I think you don't need to use US since bands are not affected by firmware.
Also IN is the best variant, only IN has theme store and update is rolled out sooner than US.
Thank you. What about battery. My battery drains like crazy. All standard apps drain battery on this phone Outlook, Google photos, Whatsapp etc. I go from 100% to 70% in 3 hours and I have battery saver on and all optimizations on.
I was hoping the regional update my clear anything that might be wrong with this phone. Any suggestions 9?
any luck someone passing safetynet?

Anyone else have trouble updating to this newest version of canary? after I updated the app I tried a direct install and it never stuck, tried a few times. Ended up having to patch my boot img with the newest app then flash it in bootloader. Just curious
We have several dedicated threads to discuss root specific questions, like the most recent non-official canary build that is being used to root this phone and is shared mainly in the Pixel 6 Telefram group. Not sure if you will find here what you are looking for.

It's a group for developers/root and there's mainly only tech slang/jargon speech, not sure if you want that. The people there also don't like offT that much.

Hello, am new to pixel device... My previous device was Xiaomi Mi 11 , my device carne with A13 !my question is there any way to downgrade to A12 I want to flash derfest A12 my fav ROM .. thx in advance
Hello, welcome to Pixel land.
First, in order to flash a factory image, you'd have to unlock your bootloader. If you don't know already, click the yellow How To Guide quick filter at the top of the list of threads in this section and you'll find 3-4 threads that tell how. I also have a link in my signature below - you can use the link for the Pixel 7 Pro - the instructions to unlock the bootloader are the same, and the OP of my Pixel 7 Pro thread is much better organized than my one for the Pixel 6 Pro, in my opinion.
After that, the only way you can downgrade (and have everything working, and not brick your phone is to use one of the two Android 12 Developer Support images for Pixel. There's an Android 12.0 build from February and an Android 12.1 build from July. They will never receive updates, however.
You can always manually flash a Pixel 6 Pro stable Factory Image to re-upgrade at a later date, or use the Official Google Android Flash Tool (OEM Unlocking needs to be toggled on - you may not have to manually unlock the bootloader - the "site" will do that on its own) to re-upgrade.
Any of the stable Android 12 builds at that factory image link should not be flashed because the Android 13 bootloader cannot be downgraded to an Android 12 bootloader, and if you flash everything from 12 Stable but the bootloader, it'll appear to work at first, but it truly won't work correctly - it will not be useable.
If you unlock the bootloader, you should also make sure the Android 13 bootloader is flashed to your inactive slot as well, to avoid the possibility of accidentally bricking your new phone.
Thanks for the fast reply sir much appreciated .. I got the idea ... My device stock unlocked and rooted .. now my question is if I flashed the July A12.1 developer ... Can I flash custom ROM based on A12.1 like derpfest etc ... Sorry I mixed up things here little harder than xiaomi

You're welcome. I don't fool around with custom ROMs except on my 6-year-old or more phones, so I can't answer that question. Part of the best things about having Pixels is the software features Google starts off exclusively on the Pixel stock ROMs.
