Hello, am new to pixel device... My previous device was Xiaomi Mi 11 , my device carne with A13 !my question is there any way to downgrade to A12 I want to flash derfest A12 my fav ROM .. thx in advance
Hello, welcome to Pixel land.
First, in order to flash a factory image, you'd have to unlock your bootloader. If you don't know already, click the yellow How To Guide quick filter at the top of the list of threads in this section and you'll find 3-4 threads that tell how. I also have a link in my signature below - you can use the link for the Pixel 7 Pro - the instructions to unlock the bootloader are the same, and the OP of my Pixel 7 Pro thread is much better organized than my one for the Pixel 6 Pro, in my opinion.
After that, the only way you can downgrade (and have everything working, and not brick your phone is to use one of the two Android 12 Developer Support images for Pixel. There's an Android 12.0 build from February and an Android 12.1 build from July. They will never receive updates, however.
You can always manually flash a Pixel 6 Pro stable Factory Image to re-upgrade at a later date, or use the Official Google Android Flash Tool (OEM Unlocking needs to be toggled on - you may not have to manually unlock the bootloader - the "site" will do that on its own) to re-upgrade.
Any of the stable Android 12 builds at that factory image link should not be flashed because the Android 13 bootloader cannot be downgraded to an Android 12 bootloader, and if you flash everything from 12 Stable but the bootloader, it'll appear to work at first, but it truly won't work correctly - it will not be useable.
If you unlock the bootloader, you should also make sure the Android 13 bootloader is flashed to your inactive slot as well, to avoid the possibility of accidentally bricking your new phone.
Thanks for the fast reply sir much appreciated .. I got the idea ... My device stock unlocked and rooted .. now my question is if I flashed the July A12.1 developer ... Can I flash custom ROM based on A12.1 like derpfest etc ... Sorry I mixed up things here little harder than xiaomi

You're welcome. I don't fool around with custom ROMs except on my 6-year-old or more phones, so I can't answer that question. Part of the best things about having Pixels is the software features Google starts off exclusively on the Pixel stock ROMs.

Hi, I bought Mi Max 3 with this Fake ROM V9.6.6.0.(OEDMIFD) and unlocked bootloader.
Is there any tutorial to flash chinese and then xiaomi.eu ROMS?
Is there a procedure to relock and unlock bootloader safely? it worth the effort and the wait of 720 hours?
I am thinking on flashing LineageOS when avaliable so i need the partitions and all things ok.
Thanks.

Something odd just happened
Ok, strange story to tell. Not expecting it on my phone.I'm running an unlocked 9.6.4.0 ..theoretical dodgy rom on my Chinese 128mb machine. It runs fine , i've had no problems with it...All of a sudden , just now, i got an official OTA update to 9.6.6.0. - the quote Xiaomi " Updates to improve speed and stability." Downloaded it ,fearing the worst and questioning my sanity in doing this.Anyways, I applied it , closed my Eyes and waiting for the reboot , visions of locking the device and going into a interminable boot loop , bricking the phone. Now pleasantly surprised as it's rebooted fine, seems to work correctly and more to the point.....it remains unlocked ! Just thought i'd let everybody know.
Does this mean the 9.6.4.0 was indeed not a dodgy rom in the first place ?
That's exactly what it means and some so called "experts" here still don't get it...
Your experience shows an important detail we wasn't sure about - no we know global rom is not restricted to global device version!
This week is a week of surprises.Spent just 24 hrs on 9.6.6.0 (see the Previous Post)...last night I got another OTA update from Xiaomi. It was the Official Miui 10 Global Rom (10.0.1.0 - OEDMIFH - Security patch 1/9/2018) .Again its working fine on my Chinese 128GB model....and again it remains unlocked.

Maybe because this is still in Beta stage.
The official stable version is still not released they sent out OTA update of the stable version to some devices for testing and after the feedback it will be officially sent out to all devices, so be careful that with the official release it might lock the bootloader.

Hey, all! I am very new here, although I always use this forum as reference, including for my previous smartphones: Xpera Z3 Dual and Galaxy S3.
But now I have a Pixel 2 XL (taimen) with the latest stock ROM (February 9, 2019 Android 9 Pie). I want a Custom ROM with no Google apps included whatsoever, could somebody help me out and give some directions? I have spent hours trying to flash a CarbonROM with no success. I don't want root, I just don't want Google Apps. A few questions:
- Is unlocking the bootloader mandatory to flash any Custom ROM?
- If I am on Android 9 Pie and the custom ROM is based on 8 Oreo, is it mandatory to flash the Oreo factory image from Google? If so, can I do it by simply using the OTA sideloading? I couldn't flash with the fastboot script.
- Is TWRP mandatory in this case? Is root mandatory?
I am really thankful for this community and appreciate any help you can give me.

- Yes
- Yes; No
- Yes, for flashing custom rom. Root is not mandatory.
Hello guys,
let's start off, several month's ago i bought Nokia 7 plus just cause for a new contract with the telecom,
due to lack of community custom roms and also able to unlock the bootloader i was a bit done with this phone.
Now my question is what's a smooth, battery friendly and user friendly custom rom to flash on ?
The phone it self feels a bit slow on the stock rom but otherwise it's a great phone.
EDIT : i tried to flash LOS and the device just restart in the boot somehow..

I have seen that happening after having a non-stock ROM installed and/or rooting it using Magisk. That seems to change the boot image and that confuses Lineage OS (I think).
I solved that by re-flashing the factory image from Google, booting the phone to TWRP recovery and flashing LOS.
Oh, and my daily driver is just Google's latest stock ROM for bullhead, so Android 8.1 rooted with Magisk and with Franco's Kernel. I like to have Xposed available which isn't available for Android Pie yet.
I am using a go11c global Pixel XL are there any guides that people can link within the thread that are relevant today I'm using the latest build for android 10 on stock rom build QP1A.19.1005.007.A1.
If possible i'd like to load a android 10 custom rom that way I can use modded gcam that is specifically made for android 10 only
The older methods still work the layout/exact labelling/orgaization of various options is just in slightly different places. The 9.0 guide is 95% accurate for android 10
Please need help with Verizon locked bootloader on Android 10
Can you please tell me how to unlock this bootloader when keep this phone going till the 4A comes out?
the info is very confusing and im looking for january 2022 patch, currently on android 12 wanting to go down to 11. my model is LE 2125-11
every guide shows another model and im worried about bricking for installing the wrong model version. msm is also unclear to me because tutorials show me it amrks the phone as indian, which i think isnt the case.
there is a lot of info which doesnt show how to downgrade and i am really confused, please i would appreciate an explanation of how you are supposed to downgrade A12 last patch (january 2022) to A11. thanks
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/oneplus-9-pro-rom-ota-oxygen-os-repo-of-oxygen-os -builds.4254587/
Its stickied on every Oneplus XDA section and will help yu.
They even release it with batch files / scripts to perform the whole wipe on both slots for you. It will go back to factory state. All data will be gone and any root will be undone.
There's also MSMtoolkit but I'm bit sure its still A11, so the link above if your safest bet

Just install the downgrade package for your desired region irrespective of what version of OP9 pro you have. Once restarted after downgrade, the system will show OTA for 11.2.10.10. If it shows C44, manually update to 11.2.10.10..... You are done.
Downgrade will wipe your internal storage.
MSM is a second option to downgrade.
MSM tool is the easiest and safest way
