Question Cant verify update from any source - Xiaomi Poco F3 / Xiaomi Mi 11X / Redmi K40

I've been trying to update to miui 13 without unlocking my bootloader to no avail. Every method yields a message similar to "Cannot verify download, cannot verify download source, etc".
This has occurred trying to update via USB update tool, via MIUI downloader app with install via "choose update file", and even via the built-in update downloader and installer under "About Phone". All give the same result.
I don't understand how it isn't able to verify an update that was downloaded directly through the MIUI settings.
The phone is stock and brand new, currently running global 12.5.6 stable
Any ideas?

trying to perform security update ota. issues.

I am on custom recovery ( initially ). I got a notification that security update is available , so I downloaded the 6.0.1 image, extracted recovery from it, and flashed it via Rashr. But the moment I try to install the ota ( it boots into the recovery, I see the little android working - "Installing system update" ), it gives me "Error" at the end.
what exactly am I doing wrong ? Do I need to flash something else besides recovery to get the ota update ? Something is missing and I am not sure what.
Any help ?
are you rooted? if so what method? if your system partition isn't 100% i believe that will cause you to fail OTA. Why not just flash the update using fastboot/adb? you can download the image from google developer site.

Questions about firmware updates with Leedroid

Hi all. I flashed LeeDroid on my new bootloader-unlocked and S-off'd HTC 10 that I received last weekend. It's the US unlocked version. I did make a Nandroid backup in read-only mode, but for some stupid reason, I did not update the stock firmware to the latest version before flashing. After reading the OP of the LeeDroid thread more carefully, I see that it recommends updating to the latest firmware before flashing.
My questions are:
1) Was it really important to take the latest OTA before flashing? Aside from being unable to get SafetyNet to pass and some bootloop-like issues that are described in the LeeDroid thread already, I don't notice any major problems with my current system.
2) If I really should have taken the OTA, how can I update my firmware while still keeping LeeDroid, TWRP, etc? There's a lot of confusing info here, and this is my first HTC device (after Motorola and Sony), so it's hard to sift through it all and figure out how it works.
Thanks in advance for your help.
You can manually update firmware via fastboot.

OK, thanks! That thread has me a little confused...also, I see it's for the M9, but the analogous HTC 10 thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/how-to/2016-05-27-fastboot-flashing-firmware-t3387520
Looks like I just get into download mode and use fastboot to flash a "no wipe" zip (keeping in mind that updates are incremental so I shouldn't just flash the latest one). And apparently it won't affect my ROM or TWRP if I use the "no wipe" version. Correct? Mildly annoying that we have to use a PC because my computer never recognizes my phone as an ADB device and tries to reinstall the wrong drivers every time I connect. But better than nothing!
Sorry I provided you a wrong link.
Yes it won't affect ROM or TWRP if you use the "no wipe" version.
Just to clarify, you need fastboot driver and not adb in download mode.
Try downloading HTC sync here.. Remove any mobile device drivers. Install HTC sync and then uninstall it. It will remove the software but retain adb/fastboot driver.
make sure USB debugging is enabled in developer options.

This is incorrect, at least with firmware.zips from @Sneakyghost.
He makes his zips so that you don't have to flash them incrementally. It's mentioned on his thread in the OP.
You can go ahead and just flash the latest one.

Question 11.2.7.7

Hi guys
I'm really confused.
I have EU Op9pro le2123
I'm rooted and when I'm trying to get OTA the device telling me that Im already updated
My current version is 11.2.6.6
I have 2 questions. Is there any update for my device or it's only for the global version .
The other question is how can I OTA ?
I don't have bootloader omg backup so I can't unroot .
Please advise
Updates are always staged updates. Some markets/regions get them via the official way before others.
Install Oxygen Updater app. If there is an update, it will tell you.
There are some threads on how to update if you are rooted.
Best you read them or search for them.
You are not the first with this question/issue....
Use Oxygen Updater to download the rom (11.2.7.7BA is available now).
If you are rooted then it will download the full rom, this is normal, if you're not rooted then it should download the OTA version.
The file will be stored in your main sdcard folder.
You can update from Settings>System>System Updates. Tap the cog on the top right and choose local upgrade, then choose the file downloaded, it will then be installed, then restart.

Question TMO 9Pro flashed with EU version ROM - How to take updates?

Hi all,
I moved my TMO 9pro to the EU rom about six weeks ago. I cannot recall for sure when I first did this if I took the update via the oxygen updater method, or via local system update (which is what I am leaning towards I did).
Has the 11.2.9.9 version been released for the LE15BA models? If so, how did you all get this? I tried to download and install via the Oxygen updater, but just get System Update installation failed error.
I have no problem waiting for the actual version to arrive via OTA, but I wanted to check.
Thanks.
The new build is released for the eu model
and can be downloaded via oxygen updater.
sometimes the local updater reports an error, which usually helps after you have downloaded the build (and moved / copied it to the root directory of the internal memory) restart the mobile phone and then install the build using the local updater

Do not take the update without flashing the modem.bin afterwards, otherwise you will lose cell service. Don't update if you're not near a PC or don't have root or a custom recovery to flash the bin.

Are you downloading and installing the full version, or the incremental? I tried the incremental, and I get the error of system update installation failed.
I will flash the modem afterwards. I did not want to download and try and install the full version, the incremental keeps failing for me.

Which are you downloading and installing? The incremental or the full version? I am not rooted, not on a custom kernel.
It's safer just to wait and upgrade, since the incremental and full upgrade may require you to flash the modem partition again.
As in normal I mean if I bought a Chinese version with a global rom will it function the same as a global version? I think the bands are all the same. Like will it get updates, Google pay ect. Any down sides? Thanks in advanced.

Question Where to get Stock Firmware?

Got the Mi 11 5G NE recently and I'm wanting to install LineageOS on it as per the installation guide: https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/lisa/install
However it says I must be on Android 12 and unfortunately I've already updated the phone to the latest Android 13 MIUI.
Just wondering if there's a reliable place to find the Android 12 stock firmware

MIUI Downloader will point you to the official ROMs
MIUI Downloader - Apps on Google Play
MIUI upgrade app for Mi users.
play.google.com
However, you would need to avoid downgrade protection (it can be done, you will have to download the Fastboot type ROM, unpack tgz, find a bat script inside that does not relock BL, edit the script to remove downgrade protection and use it then to flash manually via Fastboot - not by using MIFlash)
Btw, for any flashing you must first unlock the Bootloader (either for downgrading MIUI and/or for installing the custom ROM)

Ah nvm it went through.
Can/should I re-lock the bootloader after either rooting or installing LineageOS? might just stick with rooted stock, haven't decided yet
