I know I can disable notifications per app, but that doesn't fix this.....
For example, I am playing a podcast in Pocket Casts in my car via Android Auto. I unplug the phone and Pocket Casts pauses but leaves a Notification from "Media" sitting in my drop down Notifications until I swipe it away. It's not a Pocket Cast notification, but some system process.
Can I disable those Samsung "Media" notifications?
Been around in android since 11. Vanilla android there's an option in control panel/sounds, but can't see it on OneUI. Other option is to goto the apps settings, then notifications and disable the Playback option. Won't register in the android shade then.

I do have Playback already disabled in the app notifications, but these seem to be some sort of system notifications.... I can fully disable all the App notification and I still see them unfortunately....
This is how you do it on a non Samsung phone.... Seems like this option is gone for us?
How To Enable/Disable Quick Settings Media Player In Android 12
Android 12 comes with really neat media player controls in the quick settings area, which is not exactly new, as it was available in Android 11 as well.

Set a sleep timer for your currently playing music, so that your music will turn off after you go to bed!
This app is the only one that will stop ALL music playing from your Windows Phone, including iHeartRadio, Slacker, Zune, or any other third party music app. The others can't do that!
- Set a custom timer (hours, minutes, seconds)
- Runs under lockscreen
- Mango enabled
- Battery saving
Due to the way WP7 works, you MUST be in the app for your music to stop playing. You can of course respond to a text message, but make sure to return to Stop Music before going to sleep! Feel free to turn off the screen.
Stop Music is battery friendly. While the screen is turned off, the timer will only update every 5 seconds instead of every 1 second, saving a lot of battery. Everything is optimized to use as little battery as possible, so you won't wake up with a dead battery!

Background: Carbonite Mobile only allows files saved/downloaded to device to be accessed via their app / saved files option.
Problem: I have saved MP3 audio books to my device.* When I click on one, I am only presented with 2 app choices: Google Music & VLC.
"Smart Audiobook Player" is not an option:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ak.alizandro.smartaudiobookplayer
See attached screen shots.
This is a problem because "Smart Audiobook Player" has features specific to listening to audiobooks (saving playback position within an MP3) that other apps don't have.
I assume that there is something that determines which apps are associated with which file types.
On a rooted device, can this be changed?
Is there some piece of metadata in the MP3 that will identify it as an audiobook vs a music file?
NOTE: I looked in the 'reset default apps' menu in Settings > Apps ..
Pls see attached screen shots.
Thanks!

I have been missing or reading messages way to late because my phone doesnt wake its screen for a notification of messenger. It does wake for other apps like snapchat and others.
Is there a setting that I have missed? Cause I have been digging through all the settings.
My honor 7x is running EMUI 8.0.0.336.

There is an option in either display or notifications part of the settings app where it will allow your phone to turn on for notifications.
In het notification settings for Messenger I have all the bells and whistles enabled, I don't see anything particular in the display part and I also know that Snapchat does wake up the screen.
Here is a screenshot of the notification settings for Messenger, sorry for the dutch language!

Hi, I need advice on two very bad bluetooth sound issues with stock dialer phone app on my Kanor PX5 Android 8 4Gb/32Gb head unit:
1. No sound when people call me. When I call, everything works fine, but when I receive a call - no sound. I can pick up, then tap on double-arrow (switch audio to phone), then tap again to switch audio back, and then it sometimes works! But never by default. When I call out using the same stock dialer - usually it works OK.
2. Ringer volume is crazy high, I want to catapult from my car when it rings. No ringer settings anywhere, no separate volume controls, nothing... Is there any way to disable ringer or change the sound?
Is there alternative phone dialer app that can replace the stock one? Any other ideas how to solve that?

Have you solved this problem yet?
I just noticed this... I'm pretty sure this did not previously happen (though maybe it's new since 11.0.7.0?).
I use the CovidSafe app (contract tracing app for Australia). It has a persistent notification that I have made silent/minimized so that it stays out of the way (yet remains visible if I pull down the notification shade).

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
However, as of yesterday, I noticed that when another notifications are visible, the display of the silent notification is... wrong. I get a white bar where it should say "Silent notifications" and then the notification itself is gone.
The icon for the silent notification remains, it's just this expanded view that is broken.
I don't recall this being an issue until yesterday. I did uninstall Firefox nightly yesterday and it took a very long time and System UI crashed, so maybe that is what caused this?
Has anyone else seen this? Anything I can try to clear/reset to fix it?
I tried clearing cache for System UI and rebooting but that did not help.
I have seen other silent notifications displaying correctly... I'm starting to suspect that the covidsafe app itself is to blame. It had an update 4 days ago.
