I tried the latest Android 12 PixelOs/Pixel Experiance/ Pixel Experiance Plus . its seems my phone Freezes more than once. The only solution is that it needs a force reboot. I am sick of rebooting my phone 2-4times per day.
My initial thought is that my 3gb ram can not handle android 12 enough. because i see 2.4gb ram used and available ram memory is approximately 400-600mb. maybe thats the reason my phone freezes.

Is that normal? How much free RAM do you guys have?
doesn't look like it, but mine is the same. I believe it is the lollipop memory leak issue...so as usual we just have to wait it out
Sucks that just as we are finally seeing 3 Gig of RAM we end up in the same situation as when we had 2Gig ?
I have not upgraded to to 2015 Flagship Standard yet but ...
I was hoping to START at the beginning of Boot Up with about
1.7 -2 GIGs of free RAM for Tasking etc.
I think " upgrading" to Lollipop on many Devices could create more problems than it solves - right ?
And the supposed Wifi Calling and VoLTE are not going to work
because they are Carrier Specific Software which must come directly from your Service Provider.
Free RAM is UNUSED/WASTED RAM! Understand? The more software/applications that are pushed into RAM the better because it is available to do whatever it needs to do without having to go and search for it and place into RAM! If and when you need more RAM for something new, say like opening another application...then Android will move out of RAM whatever is not being used and replace it with the new software. If your phone had 10GB of RAM it would still look nearly full. This is a GOOD thing. It's all still available for use when needed. Remember that RAM is always the fastest part of your phone. Of course the more RAM you have the more applications you can have open at any one time without any lag/stutter. But for now 3GB of RAM is quite good for a cell phone on Android.

Is that a built-in app showing you that?

Come on... I have Galaxy S4 now (going for S6 today). The S4 comes with 1.8GB usable memory but when it reaches arount 1.5 GB it starts lagging, and by lagging I mean a lot! The fact is that when the device has less RAM it gets laggy and it works better when it has more free memory.
Anyway the higher memory usage is probably of how Lollipop works - it preloads the entire app in the RAM instead of loading it from the flash. It is meant to speed up loading but it takes more memory and I can argue for the effect.
once there are some custom roms, this "issue" will be addressed.
until then, you just have to deal with it
I just noticed that in the Running Services, System takes more than 800 MB of RAM and if I open the camera app, it could take up to 1GB of RAM. I tried to boot into safe mode, unfortunately it doesn't make things any better. System still takes more than 600 MB of RAM. And after 1-2 days on without a reboot, it takes more than 700 MB of RAM again.
However, everything's fine on my Nexus 5(6.0) and Z3C(5.1), system always uses at most 600 MB of RAM. I don't need to reboot these phones every 2 days which I have to do with my 5X otherwise it will become intolerable slow. People always say the reason your phone is lagging and stuttering must be related to those 3rd-party apps you've installed, but those apps I installed are exactly the same with my other phones.
I also found some people don't have any performance issue at all... But I don't think it's something with the hardware. Maybe system on nexus 5x need to use that much RAM because of the camera and fingerprint scanner? But one thing I'm pretty sure is that my phone gets very laggy after 2 or 3 days... App redraws are killing me...
I noticed the same thing. When I reboot my phone after 2-3 days I notice the speed different a LOT.
Even though the same usage is the same.
Is your phone encrypted / encrypted?
im running uber rom unencrypted and have similar system usage (790-810 MB).
Checked system usage an hour later and was back down to 600 MB.
5X is a 64bit phone, so the system and apps may use more memory.
Looks like 5x buyers run into the same **** like Nexus 9...? There is something going wrong in the OS and Google not able to fix it, or they have been fatally wrong when they decided that 2 GB is enough ram.

Encrypted. Will unencrypt my phone improve the performance?

I'm not sure but I'm testing it now. I decrypted my phone yesterday and waiting to see if there any performance/memory advantages.
If not I might as-well encrypt it again for more security.
The NEXUS 9 was 64 bit and had 2 gb ram, likewise for the NEXUS 5x, however I found the memory management is much better, 3gb should have been used for 5x and 9 and 4gb for 6p.
Guys, after how many apps redmi 1s is slowing down rebooting and acting weirdly? I'm trying to way to use our device smoothly to its capacity. Whats ur average free ram space and still ur device running without lags/slow down. And what rom/kernel/mods you are using to achieve same.
And which android version is better for our 3 year old device. KK/LP/MM/N?
I don't know if this happens only on me but I get 7-9 hrs SOT on my Xiaomi EU based custom ROM while I only get 3-4 on AOSP 10 based ROMs and the phone gets warm!
Also the brightness is very dim I have to always have it on 100% and still is barely visible.
When I do that the motherboard area of the phone gets very warm and the battery drains much faster.
I have the China AI version with 6gb of RAM and 64gb of storage
I am on the xFire rom which is based on the stock oneui and it's the most stable, fast and usable because everything it's working. But many times my applications get closed because there is not enough RAM and so I can't open many apps in the same time.
So I need a ROM which is light, with a lot of available RAM and with a good camera because I don't want renounce to stock camera quality.
You have 6gb of ram, correct?
What's using all the ram?
With Pie on my stock N10+ the OS is using 3.1gb, total nominal usage is about 5.2gb.

Hello, late answer, but S9 only 4 GB. The best solution would be to buy next models but I don't want spend now.
So I just see 3,1+ GB RAM average used without loading apps. When I execute some of them I get freezes and force close. So I just want know if with an Aosp rom I can get more free RAM compared to OneUi.
