Hi my mipad 5 pro has a system application call airoha.hardware.anld which has a high battery usage. I googled online but only able to find airoha the brand and could not find this exact application. Anyone have ideas?
Could be Bluetooth related.

Seems like it is an application to manage the bluetooth/wifi chip. I'm not sure
tried turning off Bluetooth but still consuming battery

Hi,
Anyone used PowerTutor to measure what's been using the battery?
You can find the app here:
http://www.appbrain.com/app/edu.umich.PowerTutor
Post your top battery drainers, and if you're using Eclair/Froyo please.
I tried it but deleted it after 1 day. Over a night my battery dropped from 80% to zero because of the app.
There is a battery monitor in android if no app appears it might be because their consumption is too low (I had only one that appeared it was an app to do RPD connections)
the android battery monitor doesn't seem as thorough I guess.

It may be possible that PowerTutor played a part in using your battery. Depending on your type of phone the PowerTutor profiling service takes between 3-15% of your phone's CPU, though we're always trying to reduce this.
Now as far as PowerTutor draining your battery from 80% to zero goes, perhaps what you should really be asking yourself is what is keeping your phone from sleeping during this time? PowerTutor won't (and indeed doesn't have permission to) do this.

So the built in app monitor is a bit simplistic. The source code is publicly available and I encourage you to take a look android.git.kernel.org/?p=platform/packages/apps/Settings.git;a=blob_plain;f=src/com/android/settings/fuelgauge/PowerUsageSummary.java;hb=HEAD. The built in monitor is only useful to calculate very rough relative power consumption between apps. PowerTutor uses accurate models of the phone's hardware, offers absolute power figures, displays recent power history charts, and offers a log for later inspection.
As for me, I run PowerTutor all the time and never have any problem with it draining the battery. To answer the original poster's question my greatest consumers come from a crossword app, google's music player (in a future release it will be possible to see what apps are using audio with some tinkering), solitaire, and then the browser. However most of the energy for these apps (except the music player) comes from the OLED screen.
I have been working on a website where some of the data collected through PowerTutor may be made available. This would display some basic power profile information for popular apps and perhaps some other usage characteristics. I've been a little busy recently but hopefully we can get this out sometime in the next couple weeks.
I havent used PowerTutor for some time, so I may be missing recent improvements. But from my experience I agree that it is a a serious batery drainer...
I don't use my mobile phone when at work. And normally it drains from full to 98~97% from 7H30, when I leave home and unplug it from charger, to 13H00 when I leave my work place to lunch. With BateryTutor the battery drained to +/- 80% in the same period. Tested it 2 or 3 times, always the same result.
I am giving it a try. It looks very informative and functional. I don't think it is to be constantly used, instead it would be more useful to have it running for a couple of days and see what is draining battery and tweak your phone accordingly.
Something that got my attention is that there is a android process called "download manager" that constantly drains 400mW. What is this? Can I somehow stop it? I am not downloading anything.

Is anybody aware of any similar programs like Powertutor which gives similar detailed information?
I suspect Powertutor doesn't give correct information for the Samsung Galaxy S (it was developped for HTC G1/G2 and Google Nexus One).
According to Powertutor these 2 processes eat a lot of juice:
50% => Android Download Manager which translates to android.media process (from Powertutor logfile) <= I suspect this is incorrectly reported by Powertutor
10 - 15% => Samsung Power Monitor widget which translates to com.sec.android.app.controlpanel (from Powertutor logfile)
A program like Powertutor is clearly not meant to be running all the time but is very usefull in identifying processes which take above average power.
More information on Powertutor's working and energy-models can be found here:
http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...sg=AFQjCNGwU_2TaxWE8TcwqHQLbfmU9A67AA&cad=rja
I strongly suspect incorrect readings for our Galaxy S...
Again I raise my question: anybody aware of a similar tool?
Please, info about an application like PowerTutor for our Galaxy S!!
Latest version of Powertutor (1.3.1) works a lot better now with my Galaxy S. The fact I upgraded to Froyo may be of influence.
It least Powertutor doesn't report 1 process (Android download manager) to consume all energy anymore!

The closest thing I have come across is BetterBatteryStats http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809. It lets you know about wakelock drains and gives fairly accurate reading of processes and alarms using battery since the device is unplugged. I still want another Power tutor -like app though.
I noticed that bluetooth is always on top (along with mobile standby) on my Defy's battery usage stats both with stock roms and with jboogies3.
Before the Defy, I was using a HTC Magic which had the same high battery usage w/ bluetooth with <2.2 roms but with 2.2 (cyanogenmod) bluetooth battery usage falled back to about 25% of the original. I thought it was improved in android 2.2.. or could it be cyanogen fixing something?
Any thoughts on this? Others also have similarly high battery use with bluetooth?

Yes, Mobile standby and Bluetooth both account for 30% of my battery use. Perhaps it's because it's 'chatting' and scanning for other Bluetooth peers all the time, I have been amazed at how many other phones you see when you scan for pairing for example.
that's okay.. but I still wonder how bluetooth usage could get restricted on cyanogen's mod on the magic with a pure software solution (as it was the same high before as well) and what we could do to achieve similar results on the defy..
ofc one viable approach is to turn on/off BT whenever entering/exiting the car, but it still sounds a bit lame for me. An application doing nothing else but turning on bluetooth in the morning and in the afternoon at a specific time for an hour could be a bit better
So I am on CM 7 and I used the battery fix others are reporting single digit numbers on current widget while mine shows only two 4s in one page and others vary between 100-250 so then I head to spare parts and it shows that the culprit is Google services, Android system and Dialer... They are always the ones that is draining my battery but I dont know how to fix them help me

Have you been actually using the device a lot while the mA measures are taken? The fix effects only idle/standby consumption. Those spare parts battery stats you mentioned don't really tell that much, as the percentage there is always 100% divided amongst the processes working. Check your partial wake usage and other usage, if there is something that has been using a lot, I mean really a lot then it could be the reason. Get watchdog or similar to check if you've got apps going crazy, could be one reason.
Btw what version of the battery fix you are using, have you remembered to do the voice search, sound record etc. to activate the fix, if you are on a version that requires it?

No that is on idle. I am using the PNK ocasional build now its abt 1% per hour. Its good but it sacrifices performance now. Those 3 culprit are from partial wake usage. V7 so i need to use voice search in order to activate it?
Btw how many kernelals can we have at once?

you must do voice search after making the first phone call every reboot.

When did this start happening with the whole 10277 app?
I don't' understand what you mean about the GPS and the timer????

Don't know exactly when, it happens randomly, if you check apps in battery usage page you can see what behavior use battery, The app 10277 used whole battery for GPS and it's timer show the app continue using battery until I set location on and then off.
Same thing here, but instead its 10105, gps is draining the battery. gps is always on even though i have it turned off
I have this as well recently, it was labeled -5
Very strange indeed. Pixel 2 XL android 10

hi. did you solve this problem? i have same problem after update my nokia 7 plus from sd card to android 10.
Hi, whenever I'm on a call on WhatsApp, Messenger, or any other social media, I can't use any internet related apps or my call starts dropping, and the other app also stop connecting to the server or whatsoever. As an example, I can't check FB, or use Chrome while on a call. Sometimes WiFi connection just disconnect and reconnect after a little while of trying to use two apps together while on a call. It also happened back in MiUi 11 android 10, I don't remember if it was on Android 9, but most likely. Am I the only one with this issue? I can surf internet on my pc even watch videos on YouTube without affecting the call quality on the phone, so my internet speed has nothing to do with it. Locked bootloader, MiUi 12, formatted after installing the new OS to make it trouble free, but nothing helped. Can anyone please tell me if I can downgrade this to an earlier version without getting this bricked? I know I have to unlock the bootloader, but I'm confused with that anti-rollback index or whatever it is called. Also Battery usage was 2 days before MiUi 12 with 8-10 hours display on time and now it's just one day. Appreciate your help. This is my first Xiaomi device and will be the last
1. There is a known issue with Wifi interference when Bluetooth is on. Are you using BT when talking on whatsapp? Unfortunately based on my research this is a hardware problem involving the wifi 2.4 Ghz and BT radios which interfere with each other and cannot be fixed via a software update. Downgrading will not help, and is a pain in the a** anyway because of Xiaomi's restrictions. A workaround is to use 5 Ghz (which is a different frequency than BT) or turn BT off when you need good wifi bandwidth.
2. For most people including myself battery usage is about the same with MIUI 12 as with 11 so if you are seeing a significant difference, your best option is to install Acubattery and try to determine which one of your apps is draining the battery. This is almost always the cause. There should not be more than a slight decrease compared to MIUI 11. Should be about 40 hrs including about 10 hrs SOT.
1. Thanks for the info.
2. It's weird, I never had the same battery usage on MiUi 12 even before I format the mobile. Also I've used Accu Battery app more than a week and each day after 80%-90% charge session, it started to drop battery health by 1% for last 3 days I used and I simply deleted the app finding it useless or it's my lack of knowledge ?
With Accubattery were you able to see which service or app was draining? Was the phone going into idle/sleep mode?
