I got a T-Mobile on pre paid and somehow they put me on post pay and charged me a ton more . They won't unlock it and I need my phone. Im not paying for their mistakes and I grabbed a straight talk service that was going to b ported phone and all. I got service and no unlock. Anyway to unlock the tmobile revvl+5? Not in the useless unlock app that won't work ?

While I appreciate your dilemma, XDA is not the place to ask for carrier circumvention as per XDA Rule #9:
9. Don't get us into trouble.
Don't post copyrighted materials or do other things which will obviously lead to legal trouble. If you wouldn't do it on your own homepage, you probably shouldn't do it here either. This does not mean that we agree with everything that the software piracy lobby try to impose on us. It simply means that you cannot break any laws here, since we'll end up dealing with the legal hassle caused by you. Please use common sense: respect the forum, its users and those that write great code.

Anyone know how to unlock these devices. I have a line on a TMobile version but I am moving to Cingular and will need to unlock it.
Thanks in advance.
you can request the unlock code from t-mobile.
yea i'm in the same boat...the only thing is you have to be with tmobile for 3 months plus before you can request an unlock code
Hopefully, after the phone is out for a couple of weeks people will start coming up with customizations.
This phone has a lot of potential
This is unlike any T-Mo device that I have unlocked in the past (and I have unlocked several in my 6+ years with them).
I put in a request for a SIM unlock on 10/26 and they sent me an email yesterday saying that the unlock code must be requested directly from the manufacturer (HTC) and can take up to TWO weeks. And they said they cannot guarantee that it will be received at ALL!
This is weird. Right now I am abroad and the Dash is useless to me. Here's to hoping that HTC comes through and I can unlock this. If not, it's time to donate some more money to Buzz
the folk over at imei check have just released and unlock for the dash. Try it out and let us know how it works...good luck
a link

No way in heck am I paying for an unlock. If I wanted an unlocked device I would have gotten a S620. This is an issue for T-Mo to sort out and they will.
Barring that, I would rather give my money in a donation to either xda-dev or Buzz. That's just me though. Not everyone has my patience...or thinking.
Just spoke to tmobile customer rep...they said 72hrs approx to find the code based on imei to unlock...however if the time period extends 72hrs its because they have to contact the manufacture to request the code...something tells me it will be the latter instead of the former...errrr

This comment makes absolutly no sense. Your willing to pay an extra $200 to have a device that is just SIM unlocked. The S620 isn't even CID unlocked yet. But you are unwilling to pay $40.00 to get a T-Mobile version both CID and SIM unlocked. Are you crazy? The T-Mobile code isn't going to CID unlock the phone for you.
one more thing. tmo told me that if you buy the phone from the tmo store, you have to wait 14 days for the return period to expire, before they can even address your unlock request.
maybe the rep was misinformed, but she looked into it.

This is true, I've done a search on t-mobile's support website for SIM Unlock. And the restrictions and policy says you have to at a minimum wait 14 days, It also mentions that your account must be active for longer than a 90 day period. And you have to wait a minimum of 90 between each unlock request.

It makes sense to me, dude
Dan, it's not about the money at all. I was referring to spending money on an unlocked phone in general, whether it was through imei-check or through HTC. Granted, it's less money to get it CID-unlocked but for me it's a matter of principle. I would rather spend my hard earned money on a community effort that helps all Excalibur users. I would gladly give $100 or more to Buzz if he can come up with a solution to help the entire Excal community. I don't even own a Universal, yet I donated to Buzz's cause in that effort.
You probably don't understand, but you don't have to. Like I said, it just needs to make sense to me.

I understand what you are talking about. I misunderstood you before....my bad.
I too would pony up money to have someone come up with an unlocker for Excalibur. The more popular the device is the more likely an unlocker will be developed.

I checked out the Universal Unlock from Buzz but it required you to Reflash the phone. I'm not sure I feel comfortable to reflash a brand new phone with out a garantee that it would work or that it wouldn't screw up the phone.
For that reason alone I think that the cost to have it unlocked is worth the 40.00 bucks. I too am a developer and respect the need to figure stuff like this out and support the efforts of others who are paving the way for others.

Hi guys,
T-Mo sent me the unlock code today. It's an 8 digit numeric code. So, my quest is over for the time being (until I need the CID unlock). I haven't tried unlocking the Dash since I am in Dubai at the moment and don't have it with me.
Incidentally, this place is a RIP OFF. The room in the Grand Hyatt is half a grand a night! And on top of that, the 'net access is not free (and costs $40). Stay away from this place if you love to save your hard-earned money.
CID vs. SIM
What is the difference between CID unlocking and SIM unlocking? Which of these apply to the Dash (as opposed to the s620)?
Thanks!

Thanks so much.
So what do the guys at imei-unlock know that we don't?
THIS forum is the place for all the WM geeks out there, this is where solutions are born! No-one has a homebrew process to retrieve/generate unlock codes?
Hello. I have recently bought the device and found out about the rediculous locked bootloader issues. In order to do a bootloader unlock, you have to network unlock first. Here is my question. I found an unlocking website (https://unlocklocks.com/) and it supports the OP 7T, from tmobile usa. Would this be a realistic method? Anyone ever used/heard of these guys? I could care less if it was over $100, it would be well worth it to me. The question is "would it work?" Thanks

Hi
my method is free
install the app called VTS Android vulnerability suite. The oneplus 7T has two known vulnerabilities that have already been patched by google. dial 611 on your phone let them know the CRITICAL vulnerabilities have been patched by google the the service ie. Tmobile with its locked bootloader is keeping you from applying the update. Tell them on the record if they refuse to oem unlock then if your identity is ever stolen then they would be the responsible party. your ammo is the CVE and making the service liable... My phone is not paid off nor has the phone been on the network for 40 days. tell your tier 3 rep its above top secret. Cristy called me back in three days as she promised and unlocked my phone. This IS the only sure way to do it.

Hey thanks for the info. I got my network unlock per xda user mobbdeep. Just waiting on the stupid unlock token.
just bought a phone from a friend that he has not finshed paying off to Sprint . is there 1 a way to remove the sprint software and either leave the samsung software or to load the tmobile stuff in its place and 2 how can i unlock it to use on tmobile.
No. I am on sprint. Until financial obligations are met, its sim locked to imei.
no method can circumvent it.

Sorry, but nothing can be done to help. Also XDA forums doesn't allow these kinds of discussions.
Return the phone to your friend and get your money back... If he/she is a real friend this shouldn't be an issue.
dang i will check a local phone shop that said they could do it . if it dont work that was my next plan . its a close friend so have no issue returning it to him . i just couldnt pass up when he offered it to me 200

I'm sure eventually it might even be restricted since it doesnt sound like hes going to pay it off with Sprint.. not worth the troubles imo.. even if u could find people to circumvent Sprints policies (can be considered fraud) they might charge an arm and a leg as well as Sprint could lock it again down the road due to unpaid balance on it.

We discourage members from posting about things like this. Yes there may be situations where someone gets screwed and bought a device that was either financed and sold, or reported stolen, or the person stole it and is asking for help to unlock it, etc. We have no way of knowing what is or isn't true so we just don't allow these types of discussions. That being said you have been given some options by some people here so there is no need to keep this thread going at all. Best of luck, thread closed.
Hello I want to buy for France a galaxy note 10 plus n975u blacklisted in the USA and locked sim verizon. I know it can work despite the blacklist in France, but for the simlock verizon this is annoying! Can I still unlock sim carrier it if it is blacklisted? If yes where? Thank you
So this is a topic that we don't provide support for. Although in many circumstances it may be a case of a buyer being taken advantage of, and while we sympathize, modifying an imei is not considered to be a practice we condone. It can lead to a lot of issues on our end if we allow these type of discussions to take place.
As per rule 9:

I new it was to good to be true, the reason my phone keeps saying cannot use voice or connot use sim 1, is due to someone selling me a phone that was previously on a contract! And of course there is no trace of this guy, I contacted Google, they need proof of perchase! Yeah that's not going to be simple to get, it's there any way of unlocking this device? I haven't tried any other sim, apparently it's a Three network phone but iv been using my EE sim this hole time for a long time to, can I root to fix this or?
I do not want to lose this phone because of some scammer
Contact the carrier and negotiate a pay off price to unlock it... if it isn't stolen.

Actually illegal in most of the world, not simply the US.
How does that pay work? I though the reason to blacklist IMEI's was because they were reported stolen. Not much point if you can just pay a small ammount to own a stolen phone?
