Hello,
i have freshly installed Lineage Os 19.1 (on Poco F3) and the most recent MindTheGapps package. Everything works fine so far, except it is not possible to register to push notifications (google cloud messaging). This drains my battery really fast and some apps do not work at all.
Are there any additional steps that i have to do, do make this work. Should this work out of the box? How can I check what application must be installed or what service must run?
I know there is a microg way for this, but this is sadly no option for me.
Thanks in advance,
Danny
where did you find the link for mindthegapps 12.1?

Hello,
I am in the process of degoogling myself, unfortunately this process seems very painful as I can't get location to work. I run LineageOS without gapps and I don't want to run MicroG, Xposed or deodex the ROM.
I cannot get UnifiedNlp to bind to the system, therfore OSMand or any other Google Maps alternative is useless and it's driving me crazy. It's literally the only thing I need to work.
Thanks.
Phone: Sasmung S9
ROM: LineageOS 15.1-20180911-NIGHTLY-starlte
Edit: GPS (only phone) as a whole seems to not work on the S9 in Oreo
Hi,
To begin, please excuse me for my English, and as I'm a novice, please excuse me too if this post isn't in the category that it has to.
So I recently reset my phone (Honor 5X) and I flashed Lineage OS, without OpenGApps. But I noticed that all applications that require Google Services (Bank Apps, or Snapchat) do not works. So, I installed MicroG on my device, but it still doesn't work.
I heard about LineageOS for microG, and I flashed this OS yesterday. Each cross of self-verifying is complete in MicroG, but SafetyNet Test fails.
I heard about Droid Guard and a modification about it but I don't understand what.
Thanks to answer me!

I don't use apps that need safety net. But i watch this drama quite a while now. If I ever was forced to use those apps, i probably would run them on a second phone with stock ROM and locked bootloader. Btw.: with two phones you can do a real 2FA for banking.
even some rom advertise about supporting "signature spoofing"... I've same issue, so I found the "Smali Patcher" that explicitly patch system to support "signature spoofing" as real.

Hey,
I'm currently running on an unofficial lineageOS 18.1 ROM but I had the same problem with the official one.
I have a Redmi Note 7 without GAPPS (With Microg and OsmAnd (both from nanodroid ZiP)) and my GPS just does not work.
I can't get my position from the browser, from Satstats (F-DROID) or OSMAND (unknown position). I have enabled Déjà vu, Mozilla Location Service and Nominatim in MicroG (locations modules) and I also modified my /vendor/etc/gps.conf (I uncommented XTRA_ server, changed xtra_version_check to 3 (don't sure what it is and enable the throttle and I set INTERMEDIATE_POS to 1). Then I copied /vendor/etc/gps.conf to /system/etc.
However, it does not work.
PS : The GPS works perfectly with Gapps.
I'm sorry if my English is bad and please ask if you need to know anything.
Thanks !
Have a good day !

Hello and thanks for your info.
I also running unofficial lineageOS 18.1 on a Samsung SM-T820 with OSMAND 4.1.11 an GPS does not running.
After i switched to fdroid version, GPS works again.
I have been running Lineage Is 17.1 with MicroG for a week and its amazing
I don't have GAPPS, but strava needs Google maps, so I have installed that...
The App starts up on the log in page, and after I enter my details it just loops never logging in ?
I have given the app every permission available.
Any advice appreciated
Hi, exact same problem for me. It would be great to read some solutions.
I am experiencing this as well. Hope we can find a fix for this.
Things I've tried...
Downloaded multiple older versions of both google maps and strava, I get to the point where I get a message saying to update microg, which I attempt and get an error saying 'conflicting packages'...
I've bit the bullet and logged in an old google account and still nothing...
It's as if the app hangs at the recaptcha stage of the log in process...
I got it working now.
My Device is a Galaxy S10 (beyond1lte) with Lineageos 18.1 for microg installed.
On microg I enabled "Cloud Messaging" for Strava.
That's it!
(..no Google Maps, nothing)

Good news...
Do you have signature spoofing enabled? I haven't worked that out on lineage 18.1...
I still use 17.1 with signature spoofing and this still doesn't work with cloud messaging
The following link helped me. https://plexus.techlore.tech/applications/strava/
So I activated SafetyNet in the microg settings and although the certification fails, "Test ReCAPTCHA" works and so does the login to Strava.
ROM is freshly installed https://download.lineage.microg.org/sunfish/lineage-18.1-20220321-microG-sunfish.zip
Hope it helps.
Hi,
Since there is an official LineageOS 20 ROM for S9(+) I wonder if there are other gapps replacements known to work in combination with LineageOS 20 on the S9+.
MindTheGapps is the default LOS recommendation which is working fine, but it doesn't upgrade some default legacy apps like gallery, phone, contacts (are all prehistory apps) and some are known to cause problems with other (newer) apps. I have examples, but this is not relevant to the question now.
Are there some good alternative gapps providers, which are known to work with LOS20 and is worth installing on S9(+)? Like flamegapps, nikgapps... Let's discuss.
Regards,
Lajos
OpenGapps but AFAIK they only go up to A11.
