I've noticed this for a while and it's driving me nuts. For whatever reason the audio comes out about 80/20 with 80% of the sound on the right side. I've tested with multiple headphones and LG Tone+ Bluetooth headphones. I've also used multiple audio apps including a youtube video that's made to test sound from right/left speakers. Any ideas? I'm running Viper as my daily driver but also have installed Fluent's Lollipop rom via MultiROM and it's the exact same. If it was just headphones I'd think it was something with the connection but it's also an issue with bluetooth. I thought maybe I could just find an app to adjust the balance but I can't find any app that adjusts left/right balance either.
Thanks for any input!

Care to elaborate? A mod to do what? Is this a known issue? If so I haven't found a single relevant post/article when searching via xda or google...

Than why post ? Really.....Post the link or don't post at all !
What kind of attitude is that, like all other posts where you seem to offer help but actually post nothing but random text. Making up things that the OP "might" want to do to his phone.
It comes to my conclusion that you have a very strange way of thinking/posting.
I hope you will at least consider to offer true help and post what you actually know.
Have a nice day.

Agreed!
I updated my kernel to one that works with fauxsound and was able to bump up the left side when using headphones so it sounds better via headphones but no change via bluetooth. Can't seem to find an app that edits bluetooth left/right gain... Still doesn't make sense to me why my phone would have this issue with both bluetooth and regular headphones. Very odd!

And no some devices do not have it. It's either a software or a hardware problem of any kind and should not be there. When it can be changed via audio enhancing software it's fine if the user likes that solution too.
A device that comes with this price "should" be flawless.

Thanks for the responses. I'm not sure when this issue started but it hasn't always been that way. Viper4Android seems to be the best solution I can find currently as you can change the left/right values via Channel Panning for bluetooth and headphones (0.9:0.1 seems best).
I doubt it's software since I've tried multiple kernels/roms and even reflashed firmware this morning. If it really is hardware though I'm not familiar with the process to get a replacement under warranty. Might need to look into that I guess.
I think maybe when Sprint releases lollipop I'll look into running a RUU and see if that fixes the issue. I'm s-off so shouldn't be a problem doing a RUU I don't think.

Agree, since your version has an RUU, run it. If that doesn't fix it, might be a hardware issue.
Hello,
3 days ago I received CHUWI vi10 plus tablet with REMIX 2.0. OS. The problem is that the system is freezing like every 5-10 if I´m doing anything (its necessary to reset it with long pressing the power button). In developer options I changed GPU rendering to enable and it seems that it a helped a bit but freezes still persists.. Does somebody here have similar experience or some tip to repair it? I have noticed that Chris in his review mentioned a similar problem… but according to his words it dissapeared. Its extremely annoying.
Factory reset is not helping.
I have the same problem. Trying to get in touch with someone from Jide or Chuwi but not having much luck. think I have a $180 paperweight.
Any chance both of you have microSD card inserted in? If yes, remove the card and see if this helps with alleviating the freezing problem (I know it sounds weird).

Hi,
A guy from the Chuwi Forum found out that enabling GFX in the Bios solves the freezing issue. This works well for me, too.

Hi! Did you figure out how to connect a keyboard to boot into BIOS?
You can connect a USB keyboard via an OTG adapter. I have the keyboard cover so there was no need to attach an external one.

Got mine yesterday. Wondering if there's a way to root it and flash Viper. After just 1 day of use I didn't face any freeze yet. But I did a F.R before starting to use it.

I got the same issues as well. Freezing
This freezing issue is really really irritating. Tried enabling gfx but doesn't help either. Even when installing an app from the play store. Hope guys at Chuwi are conscious about this because this tablet got a real potential.
I am having the same issues, even with the suggestion in this thread. Yellowflash is correct, has real potential. But if it is freezing non stop its really a huge waste of time and money...

Thanks Tony, that is something I did try as well. It seems to be crashing/freezing the same with our without a Micro SD card present.
Chuwi need to address at least patches to fix these freezing asap. Because imo Remix only should be a pleasant experience on this tablet and not horrible!
This tablet is and will be the last Chinese tablet I'll ever buy.
Try this:
Settings --> Experimental Features--> Enable Launcher file mode.
This was the fix for me. On the down side you'll get kind of a Windows Desktop.

First time shooting a video like this, I can post an update but I'll throw all my findings here.
Some if my initial issues;
With the MTCD PX3 5.1.1 RK3188 You could change the ACC timeout so that the unit would stay on for a specified time, that is no longer in the menu. (Car was off for 3hours and it still fast started so drawing current constantly)
Radio constantly resets after turning the key off even though the Headunit only goes into sleep it's still resetting all radio stations.
Some applications in the Google play store report they are not compatible with this unit ie: iGO Navigation. I had to side load it but that's causing issues with the sys.txt file.
The launcher is damn ugly...
Always says failed to download license when coming out of sleep even with WIFI & 4G connectivity.
(Will update as I use it more)
Positives;
Unable to make it slowdown with Spotify & iGO Navigation running at the same time like it used to.
Audio quality is a LOT better and having subwoofer control on the EQ is great.
No longer have engine whine/hiss either.
(Will update as I use it more)

You should measure the power draw when it has been off for an hour or more. The Intel head units basically goes to a deep hibernation, drawing next to nothing (no more than a normal head unit) while the system is sleeping, and then it comes instantly back on and is ready to use within a second or two from turning on the ignition. It may be that the new PX5 has a similar or the same feature, which is why you don't set the ACC timeout anymore. On the Joying Intel units you can change it between what they call "dormancy" or "shut off" in the special settings app they have, allowing you to turn it all the way off when ACC is removed if you wish to do so.

Thanks for the idea, I have a DC clamp meter I'll use tomorrow to double check.
Just tried the ignition again after getting home from being out with friends. So the car was off for 6 1/2hours this time, hit the key & it instantly started.
Still not happy about it resetting the radio stations every time however.

On Intel MTCD devices, they removed the option to set ACC off timer.... due to the power consumption during deep sleep is negligible. I think some ROM update is neccessary to fix that small errors
It is strange that lots of apps were not compatible with the device as it is a RK3368 (two years old chip). Perhaps is sending a wrong device information to Google play ?
good review. Sound like a fellow kiwi? note that other resellers offer MCU and ROM upgrade on rk3188 to enable sub control. e.g. jy1.90

Ok did some clamp DC current tests,
Headunit unplugged. vehicle left for an hour. 37-55mA current draw tested 3 times in 15minute period.
Headunit plugged in, sleeping 3hours then clamped. 97-130mA. That's a noticeable drain increase, that's enough to make a vehicle not start if it hasn't been driven in a week.
An ACC timeout adjustment would be great again. Lets say the unit locks up? My older unit would lockup every now and then and just be the wallpaper on screen (launcher crash) and I'd have to turn ignition off the ACC timeout time to reboot the headunit properly.
What happens now? Do I have to go pulling fuses.
And for the device information all it does is report as PX5, Where as the PX3 reports at RK3188. So I have a feeling that's an issue?
Hopefully updates get dropped soon through various vendors as at the end of the day they're all the same generic core board.
Cheers
Mat

have you managed to gain root access on the unit

PX5 aside, the upgraded memory to 2gb is a major factor and provides an out of the box experience without feature limiting mods that may be difficult for some.
Note that I have upgraded my rk3188 to 2gb which improves the unit from boot to opening multiple apps and do not see the cpu as a bottleneck at all.
Seems to me the PX5 isn't ready for prime time as of yet, I'll stick to recommending the Intel for the time being. The power usage when sleeping is disconcerting, the Intel units draw something like 12-13 mA when in sleep mode, which is really great! That is actually a major feature for me, as I'd be annoyed waiting a minute or so for the thing to boot up in the morning.
Bit of an update, Had a few scenarios where radio has not reset now. I can't figure out what aspect causes it to reset but it does happen occasionally between a key cycle.
Apart from the launcher look which I hate I've warmed up to the unit. App switching, Spotify buttons are already linked to << >> > || etc. Haven't been able to lag the volume control, or GPS/Spotify/Pandora switching etc.
Appears With my usage It hovers around 900Mb Ram usage, so there is a chance the biggest change I'm noticing is the memory being 2GB now vs 1GB.
But does anyone have info about the DSP on these units? It sounds a lot clearer and less muddy now which is odd, I wasn't sure that was a change. But It's a welcomed one.
Any questions feel free to ask.
Cheers
Mat
Thanks for all the info
Is there any reference to the voltage on the RCA outputs on the unit? Is it too much to hope that with an improved DSP they can put out a bit more than the old 2V?
Sound quality wise does the unit seem more inline with more established aftermarket units now like Alpine etc (if you have any experience with them), Whats the main difference here?
Okay, I have some info on the MTCD 6.X.X MCU/Software Updates etc.
I also have the update.img & dmcu.img for 12th Jan 2017 for the PX5 unit. (According to Xtrons support, I haven't used yet.)

I have not previously responded to your "review" between these 2 hu because I felt it unfair to compare them both like the way you already did.. is not an honestly comparing -and maybe you knew it?- mate!!
Prove it.. you gonna or I hear you say.. right?
Ok here we go..
How it is possible in the Xtrons name that you compare both hu while you did not even have updated your old 5.1 hu at all?
Your 5.1 hu with an very old fw and mcu version while the newer 6.1 hu one is with the most newer fw and mcu come? now is that comparing you called fair
I don't know why you did it that? But maybe.. I may have my own thought of kind of conspiracy but I will keep it for myself and I don't tell it ofcourse
If you are really wanted to comparing both of them honestly then you should first of all update your old hu one first and then compare it with the newer one.. right?

Not sure i can ask this here. Mods pls take appropriate action, if needed.

This is fixed in the Dec 2021 Security Patch update.
Able to use Android Auto without any problem now.
I picked up a OnePlus 9 Pro, nice phone, and I wanted to run SDR on it but couldn't find a ROM to fit my needs. So, I modified a Lineage 19.1 build to support NetHunter and figured I would share it here in case anyone else was also wanting to do the same.
OnePlus 9 Pro Lineage 19.1 NetHunter Enabled
If you wish to extract the kernel alone, please keep in mind that the VintF compatibility checks were left intact. The compatibility matrices are stored on the System image and you may need that to accompany the kernel.

Sorry for the late reply, thanks for the compliment. I thought that the topic might be ambiguous, but its a lot to mention in a title.
Did you try the build? If so, is it working ok?
When I modified the kernel, I checked to make sure that the required dependencies were also selected, so it should be good to go. NetHunter kept crashing before I made the modifications, but it works on my device now.

When I modified the kernel, I checked to make sure that the required dependencies were also selected, so it should be good to go. NetHunter kept crashing before I made the modifications, but it works on my device now.

No, I haven't. Maybe when I get another 9P I'll give it a shot. My daily OS is parrot so I don't think I'd ever need NH on the go but it's still cool. It has been asked about a bunch of times on here, reddit and github for other devices.
And I just meant the "flair" on the post is set to Green "Question". Most people glance over those if they don't think they have the answer. If you can't change it any longer, I'm sure a mod would be happy to change it for you. And then you can get the proper feedback from multiple people on it also.
Is the 9P included wifi card capable of monitor mode or injection, or are you using an external card for those? I remember installing some stuff in one of my Nexus phones to get my Alfas recognized but I never did finish the job on that device.
Also, do you know if it's possible to take advantage of the Adreno gpu for hashcat? Or if there's a mobile equivalent? I'm not sure if there's an API available for the depth needed for something like that. It would be neat to have the onboard gpu increasing hashcat rates tho . Or for someone to make a pcie adapter and I can just carry a spare battery and a 1080ti around with me when I need cracking on the go

Even if you had a PCIE adapter... getting any video card, 1080ti or otherwise, working on an ARM chip is not realistic as there are no drivers. And even if you could use the GPU for hashcat it would still be very slow.
Why not just spin up a cloud server with an RTX 4090 or few? You can rent them by the hour. For a full day is only around $30. No need to do it locally... you can just use the phone to capture the handshake, crack it in the cloud via the phone and have the cracked password sent back to your phone. Achieves the same thing you're after but much much faster and without the need to crack it locally on very under powered hardware.

Carrying around a 1080 otg was a joke. I thought I made that clear when I said carry around a battery, sorry for the confusion or missed sarcasm.
I have been using pooled resources for cracking for ages. We set up hashtopolis and had a bunch of 1080s. I have a different resource now but that wasn't the question anyway. The question was whether someone had a way to use the onboard Adreno gpu to speed up any calculations on mobile. Something similar to hashcat for mobile.
A full day of 4090 for $30 is super interesting tho, I may look into that and compare some speeds of that vs my current pooled resource.

Ok sorry. Sometimes I take things a bit too literally.
Was almost going to mention hashtopolis but was trying to keep it short. That's cool though.
To at least half answer the actual question... it would seem 3d hardware acceleration is possible on a rooted device in a linux chroot. See mesa 3d library / Turnip + Zink https://github.com/Grima04/mesa-turnip-kgsl
Discussion about it here:

That doesn't answer if it works with hashcat, but probably it will.
Awesome work! I was hoping this would come out soon. Anyone try out any of the features and see what’s working yet? Injection, monitor mode, internal Bluetooth, etc? I’m debating upgrading to an 8 Pro or 9 Pro, but I wanted to see if the stuff from the unofficial 8 Pro kernel was working here yet.
Thank you for building this ROM and kernel. I have tried many times to get the wireless adapters to work with this. Monitor mode works natively if you find the right version of nethunter or install the nethunter lite zip. But it stops working after update && upgrade. I haven't tested the desktop version yet to see if packet injection works in that mode. But testing injection mode by typing sudo aireplay-ng -9 wlan0 doesn't find any APs and injection doesn't work. If someone has gotten it to work can you help me out.
I got the wireless adapters to work after using the firmware module for magisk. Injection works also. Thank you for making this build

Nice! Way to go, dude. By chance did you test HID interfaces? Are you still able to use everything after update && upgrade since you installed the Magisk module?

I didn't test the hid interfaces or the bluetooth. I did test the packet injection using an Alfa AWUS036NHA. The adapter also still worked after running update and upgrade. After installing the firmware module and restarting. I plugged the adapter in but it didn't light up. So I went to custom commands in the nethunter app and chose start monitor mode on wlan1 and the blue light came right on.

Aha! Thanks for the update. So this is strictly on external Wifi adapters or was both internal and external working? Sorry, I’d test this stuff myself but I haven’t decided whether I’m gonna get a 9 Pro or just get an 8 Pro and use the official release.
Both worked for monitor mode but I don't know if the internal is capable of packet injection. I tried aireplay-ng's injection test and it didn't say injection mode was working, but it did work with the adapter. Are you certain that the internal can inject on the 8 pro? I've been told that the 7 pro was the last that it worked with. But I could be wrong.

Can't you install the Nethunter mod on any device w/Magisk?
I ask bc I've installed it and got chroot installed successfully with different devices as I'm interested in learning to use Kali (been lacking on it tho) but have had problems with newer ROMs on 1+7pro, haven't tried the 9 pro yet but have the device. I like custom heavy OS like crDroid and stuff (certain features I gotta have), so I'm wondering if there is anything specific about this ROM and Nethunter compatibility?
You need the nethunter kernel for packet injection to work properly. This ROM has the kernel built into lineage 19 and everything seems to work fine. The internal WiFi doesn't do injection. But it can be put into monitor mode.
I've got a question:
Is the USB arsenal present on the nethunter app drawer? I'm on Nameless AOSP with nethunter chroot installed and yet I can't access it...
