Hi!
I've just rooted my s20 5g Snapdragon version (SM-G981N), with vbmeta_disable.tar and Magisk installed.
Everything is fine. After that I installed all my data and apps...
Now I would like to intall TWRP...
is there a way to do it without loosing all data?
THX
Mike
Any help?

Hi,
I dont know what I am doing wrong, really.
I managed to unlock bootloader and install custom ROM, everything works fine then.
I install TWRP without an issue. I can decrypt partition by wiping all. Once I flash SuperSU 2.82 or Magis 18.1. I get a bootloop when trying to reboot. I waited like 15 Minutes. Also tried KingRoot.apk methid, didnt work.
So no way to get root access works for me?
Any idea? Thanks!
Best
UPDATE: It worked now.
How? Download TWRP from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-max-3/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-3-1-nitrogen-t3866084
Install latest Magisk 18.1.
Done
Hello,
I was running a S9 (SM-G640F with latest Pie Update) and flashed Lineage OS 15.1.
For flashing Lineage OS I has installed a Vendor Image for 8.1 (so the Installer told me).
I already made a Backup before flashed Lineage with TWRP and I have checked all boxes for backup up all partitions.
Now I want to go back to stock ROM and I tried to to recover and all I can recover is the system partiton.
I have tried this and then I get a Bootloop.
What can i do to get Stock Rom Working again?
Thank you!

Not tried with the S9 but when I did play about with TWRP you had to wipe system/data partitions, then restore the backup
Or just flash stock with odin and start fresh

Samsung Health not Working anymore with Stock ROM
Hi, is there a Way to get KNOX working again?
My Samsung Health App is not working anymore after installing Stock App.
Maybe to send the Phone to Samsung Support?
Thank you

Recently on my rooted with magisk android 9 without twrp s10+ i did update of edxposed to newest version yahfa.
After update phone is not restarting with root and hangs with black screen. Can only restart it and use without root with turned off magisk
Is this possible to somehow uninstall edxposed without loosing all data as i don't have backup
I have patched with magisk rom as tar file.
Can i simply flash it with odin and recover it without loosing of data or this is not possible?
thx for any advises as i don't want to spend a day on setting all up again...
I rooted my S20 Ultra (Hong Kong version) last year with Magisk. I was recently trying to install an OTA update, when I realized that I had not created a backup of my original system, so I could not use Magisk to restore the original image and then install updates, so I decided that I would just uninstall Magisk and root it again after updating. Unfortunately, when I pressed the "uninstall Magisk completely" button, the device ended up in a boot loop. I can access the recovery menu, but neither clearing the cache nor a factory data reset resolved the issue.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
It did installed on the root stock ROM?
If so, you can't do OTA update, unroot won't be the solution
If you have TWRP installed, you can install a custom rom without deleting your data.
After updating to this firmware I lost root. So I tried as usual to flash via fastboot twrp-3.6.0_11-0-I001D.img and then in recovery magisk 23.0 (24.1 makes twrp crash). When I reeboot into system (after clearing dalvik/cache) magisk is not installed, although the flashing of the zip in recovery was flawless. i even reflashed the stock rom+magisk (losing the twrp recovery) but no way magisk was there.
With the previous rom versions nevere had this problem. Is it a trick og the new rom to prevent from rooting? Any idea? Suggestions?

so...basically, you are unable to root using either the TWRP or simply Magisk?
What version of Magisk were you using?
I am thinking of updating but I need root access so the situation you are facing is worrisome to me.

I updated to the latest version and as always installed magisk to the inactive slot before reboot. Update was fine and root intact.
I was on magisk 24.1
