Recently on my rooted with magisk android 9 without twrp s10+ i did update of edxposed to newest version yahfa.
After update phone is not restarting with root and hangs with black screen. Can only restart it and use without root with turned off magisk
Is this possible to somehow uninstall edxposed without loosing all data as i don't have backup
I have patched with magisk rom as tar file.
Can i simply flash it with odin and recover it without loosing of data or this is not possible?
thx for any advises as i don't want to spend a day on setting all up again...

As the title says, I have uninstalled magisk root access on my SM-N975F and I now would like to know how to recover it. I have tried to flash the magisk zip through TWRP, which I still have. The installer did not return any error, but when rebooting magisk manager says that I don't have root access. I have tried holding Vol.UP+Power Button for the 2 boot screens and then releasing to make sure I don't boot into TWRP, but instead of booting into the system with magisk it just boots into TWRP. Is there any way to gain back root access without having to go through the intial procedure or rooting considering I have TWRP?
Hi All 1st new here and just joined.
What I need is some help and advice, looked through but cant really find anything to help me.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S20 which was rooted by a well known online rooting place.
What I need is, I want to update the software but this has been disabled and it is not even showing in the settings. When I search its there but cant do anything with it. The root is oem firmware not custom it has mgdsk on not sure about twrp. Root checker pro and is all green confirming root.
What I want to be able to do is update the software as still on 10 and some of my apps are saying i need to update. I cant do this as the Software Update is Disabled and not actually in the list. Any advice on how and what I can do to update the phone? Or put back on the Software Update as I have looked all day and found nothing to help me.
Rooted Galaxy S20, wanting to update firmware, mgdsk, not sure how to get Software Update back.
TY
I have seen multiple post about people loosing root access after the OTA.. I have jotted down the below the instructions on how to retain root access after OTA updates.
Follow this steps... 1.Magisk Manager → Uninstall → Restore Images). Do not reboot or you will have Magisk uninstalled.
2. Now Update the system and let it install completely. Do not press the reboot button.
3. Now install TWRP A/B Retention Script from Magisk Manger. This module is available on Magisk (if you have twrp as custom recovery) Skip this if you do not have TWRP installed
4. Go to (Magisk Manager → Install → Install to Inactive Slot) and install Magisk.
5.Once Magisk installation is done, press the reboot button in Magisk Manager.
Your phone may get into bootloop once, if that happens just restart the phone again.
Voila now you have your OnePlus updated and You also have Magisk installed with root access
WILL THIS WORK PLEASE? EVEN TOUGH I HAVE SOFTWARE UPDATE DISABLED?

Does the S20 have a/b partitions?
Found the answer - https://www.androidpolice.com/2020/...ung-phones-support-androids-seamless-updates/
No it doesn't
If so then yes it would work if you could download and install updates.
If the phone was rooted with a patched Odin install then you most likely have to wait for the newer version patched and update the same way as last time.

Hi guys i rooted my m30 using magisk for few months ago and i realized i cant use any bank application in my phone and that is really uncovenient. so i decided i want to unroot my phone, i tried to uninstalled the magisk from the application, after the system reboot my phone stuck in bootloop. the only way to escape the bootloop is to install magisk again. can someone help me to unroot my phone without any problem from bootloop? Any replies is appreciated
Bootloop after uninstallingExperiencing a bootloop after uninstalling Magisk, either through the app or with the apk renamed to uninstall.zip and flashed through recovery, might mean that the boot image hasn't been restored correctly or that dm-verity otherwise triggers.
Try one of the following:
Restore your stock boot image (there's a copy of it stored in /data, named stock_boot_<sha1>.img.gz).
Flash a no-verity zip directly after uninstalling Magisk/restoring your stock boot image.
Dirty flash your ROM/factory image/firmware package.
Clean flash your ROM/factory image/firmware package.

Have u rooted ur device running on latest April 2021 patch? I also want to root but stuck....
Btw you can install latest firmware using odin it will solve all prblms
After updating to this firmware I lost root. So I tried as usual to flash via fastboot twrp-3.6.0_11-0-I001D.img and then in recovery magisk 23.0 (24.1 makes twrp crash). When I reeboot into system (after clearing dalvik/cache) magisk is not installed, although the flashing of the zip in recovery was flawless. i even reflashed the stock rom+magisk (losing the twrp recovery) but no way magisk was there.
With the previous rom versions nevere had this problem. Is it a trick og the new rom to prevent from rooting? Any idea? Suggestions?

so...basically, you are unable to root using either the TWRP or simply Magisk?
What version of Magisk were you using?
I am thinking of updating but I need root access so the situation you are facing is worrisome to me.

I updated to the latest version and as always installed magisk to the inactive slot before reboot. Update was fine and root intact.
I was on magisk 24.1

*issue resolved*
sorry if this post may seem stupid and boring for advanced users ,tonight I updated Magisk to version 24.1 from 23 and I had a very hard time (phone did not boot ).
my setup is poco F3 international twrp +lineage OS .
here what I did :
downloaded Magisk 24.1.apk renamed to .zip reboot to twrp and flashed Magisk 24.1.zip,after successfully finishing I rebooted and lineage logo was not displaying ,also twrp vanished !
so luckily I had the intuition to rflash twrp from pc which was successfully .
once in twrp I went to advanced option and used flash current twrp wich successfully permantly installed twrp (once again )but it told me I lost root, so I reflashed Magisk.zip and although twrp was telling me no os was installed rebooting to slot b finally bring phone to life without loosing data luckily .
sorry for the long and boring post did I do everything right ?(I guess not )is this painful and scaring process required each time I update Magisk ?
You no longer need to rename Magisk to flash, TWRP detects it, and it seems it was a problem with the Kernel rather than.magisk
The best way to update magisk from the magisk app itself.
