Good day everybody,
I'm running into a very strange problem, and it's my first time to see something like this!!!
From time to time, I'm used to flash my Desire with new ROMs to test them.
What happened this time is strange, after I flash my desire to StarBurst ROM using the normal procedures
(Wipe every thing, then flash from sdCard through recevory)
As uesual, the flash ends deleting all apps and games, so I have to download them agin from the market.
The strange thing is that when I enter the market, I can't see most of the apps and games that were installed on my phone before flashing to new ROM!!
I thought that the ROM is not ok, so I flash again the same ROM my phone used to work with which is the LeeDroid (Froyo 2.2), but the same problem in the market!!!
Right now, I can't find;
Angry birds (all 3 games)
Advance Task Manager
arcMedia Player
eFile (File manager)
.
.
.
.
etc
(allmost most of the apps and games that were installed in my phone before flashing new ROM)
I decided to enter the market website through the browser and try downloading directly from there, and I found under my market account all the apps and games I downloaded!
I noticed that all of them has the download button in blue color instead of green and it shows downloaded! and even if I click on it, nothing starts to download!!!
I'm looking for your help regarding this problem.
Thanks in advance
wrong section. this should be posted in q&a not in developement
Maybe contact Google and ask them to divert some of the Billions of $'s they throw down the drain subsidizing people who want to upload "dancing dog" videos to fixing their notoriously flaky Android market
Try flashing google apps seperately it might be corrupted

I can heartily recommend you just try flashing again and then setting up again. Worked fine for me on the 3rd try.
So i am at a bit of a problem here and i cant figure it out.
I have installed both CM11 from 04/24/14, and tried the 4/08/14 Experimental build, both with the latest GApps zip file for CM11 from
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps
The install seems to go fine, CM11 works, i can get wifi, connect to google account, gmail, internet, hangouts everything works..
Except Play Store...it crashes every time. Ive tried everything i can think of, those things include
Run the installed one from Gapps, it starts and i can see the initial disclaimer i have to accept then it crashes.
Download Google Play store apk and push it via ADB install, doesnt load.
Use GAppManager, the instant i select a version of GApps to install it crashes.
Try flashing an earlier version of GApps(For ICS) from KFFAide, doesnt work..
Go into Apps, find Google Play store that comes from the flashed GApps and clear its cache...
Ive tried flashing just CM11, booting it, then going back into TWRP and flashing GApps
Tried clearing dalvik/system and every other TWRP wipe except internal
Im really out of ideas...any help would be great nothing i do seems to do it...
I also tried flashing back to a version of 10.2 Experimental for KF HD but it just fails immediately when i try.

Try the GAPPS from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942 find which ones you want to use and then choose goo as the download place. Then get a slightly older Gapps. I'm using a set from 1-23-2014 and have had zero issues. They will update anyway so having today's 0 day Gapps is not a huge deal. If you want mini Gapps, here is the link http://goo.im/devs/paranoidandroid/roms/gapps-mini/older versions

I've been using the latest GApps ("stock" experience) from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942 and it works great. It will error out some apps the first time with a notification that you must update Google Play Services to continue. Sign in and update Google Play Services through the store and everything works like a champ.
A bonus of using the PA GApps package (if you want all those apps at all) is that they install to /system and don't use up as much /data space. Maybe not an issue for many, but every little bit helps right?
Keep in mind that the "stock" (i.e. Nexus-esque) package will remove the AOSP Browser, Messaging, and Keyboard. As long as you're good with Chrome, Hangouts, and Google Keyboard, this (again) saves you storage. If you prefer the AOSP apps, read the thread for how to keep them or install one of the other packages from the thread.
It turns out the issue is unrelated to Google apps, ANY application i use and try to download with will crash.
Try to grab an attachment from Gmail, crash
Try to download a file via Chrome, crash
Try to download via Play store, crash
I have no idea what the hell is causing this ive checked my Download and Downloader apps they are both running, ive tried restarting them, disabling them, and many other things...
At this point how do i return my Kindle to a "Stock" Kindle Fire HD as if i bought it from the store?
I may need to return it, im wondering if this is a hardware issue? Doesnt make sense though because everything else seems to work, i can go view internet stuff so the wifi isnt bad, and i can copy files to it via USB so the storage isnt bad...

Try flashing a slightly older KitKat Gapps http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2579123 If you want to go stock then use the system restore tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2011126 Use the stock USB cord.
Edit: Edited for link to 8.9 restore tool and further corrections.

I decided to update my phone from CM13 to CM14.1 the other day without having read anything about CM14 and not realising how new it was (yes I know, stupid thing to do!).
So after the update I've had nothing but problems with google services not working properly, so I uninstalled google services from the apps menu within the phone, downloaded the Android 7.1, ARM, Stock version of GAPPS from opengapps.org and booted my phone into TWRP and flashed the newest version of gapps.
This fixed the issue with google services not responding, however now none of my apps work.
Anytime I try to load an app such as facebook, email, browser. My phone will freeze for several minutes and then the app will just tell me its stopped responding.
Does anybody have any advice on what to do? (I dont care if the result is that I have to wipe the phone and lose everything on it, just want my phone to work again!)
Edit: an additional piece of info, any time I try to do something that requires root access (for example moving an app to my SD card) my phone will tell me that I don't have root access, even though I must because I'm using cyanogenmod...

Try doing a clean flash of the rom along with the respective gapps package. You have to flash the rom and gapps together. And for the root issue, you have to first turn ON root from the developer options in settings.

Scrap this, solved the additional problem I was having.
Thank you for your assistance, all is working well now
Hi guys, is there a way to change the carrier name? The correct name for my carrier is "telecom Italia spa", not "... Italiz spa". Thanks in advance.
Hi,
I posted this on the custom rom post I tried, but I figured it would be more suitable here. The OS I tried is the one from this post:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/development/rom-lineageos-15-1-t3806615
Maybe I missed something in the installation steps and I hope someone can help me out here.
I managed to unlock my LG G4 H812 and installed this rom (I tried another ROM too based on Nougat). However, after I installed this ROm, I can no longer play video files without any lags or artefact in them. The quality is really poor.
My main goal was to use it for Daydream, but it didn't work well and when I tried playing some video files, it didn't work as good as before I unlocked my phone.
So I decided to reinstall the ROM and did not configure it for Daydream as I was thinking it was maybe the reason why the videos didn't play well and I still get issues with videos.
I just tried installing Moonlight to play through my PC and when I tried to launch a game, I got the following message:
"This device or ROM doesn't support hardware accelerated H.264 playback".
So this must be why my videos are not playing well.
So, are the custom ROMs for LG-G4 supposed to play H.264 correctly or it is a known issue? If it is a known issue, what is the workaround?
Thanks!
Nevermind. I tried a different ROM (H815??) by removing the Assert line and following some steps by steps on the forum (can't find the page again as I closed it) and it worked. Moonlight worked without any error and when I tried playing the same video that was causing issues, it was no longer a problem
Xiaomi Mi 10T 12.1.1.0.RJDMIXM
I experienced the following issues after recently updating to Android 11. Any help would be much appreciated.
1. I can no longer side load any app.
APK installation fails every time whether it's attempted on the phone or via ADB. I tried everything I could find online short of disabling MIUI optimization, as I'd prefer not to suffer the pain of resetting permissions (again). Has anyone successfully restored side load functionality in Android 11 by disabling MIUI optimization?
It may instead be related to something Google introduced with Android 11 called app integrity, which apparently makes it more difficult (hopefully not impossible) to install apps from sources other than the Play store. If this is the culprit, does anyone know of a workaround that doesn't involve me having to root my phone (too much hassle/risk for my liking), or reverting to Android 10 (assuming that's possible)?
2. MX Player keeps crashing after a few seconds of video playback.
I'm not sure whether this is a fault of MX Player, MIUI or Android 11. It's the latest version and worked just fine before the update.
3. BlackPlayer keeps hanging whenever I open it.
I'm not sure whether this is a fault of BlackPlayer, MIUI or Android 11. It's the latest version and worked just fine before the update.
I updated my Mi10T Pro to Android 11 with that version through OTA. After multiple reboots all sorts of weird things were still happening and I wasn't happy using the phone. The things you describe are the sort of problems I had - though not those things specifically.
I the end I figured I had no choice but to do a Factory Reset. Yes, it was a painful process re-authenticating into most apps, but since then the phone has been completely stable and no issues, including easy sideloading.
Neither of these three issues were solved by performing a factory reset, unfortunately.
Although, it turns out that if you uninstall 'MIUI security components' (com.miui.guardprovider) when debloating – something I believe Xiaomi introduced with this version of MIUI – you lose the ability to side load. Leaving it alone retains the ability to install from unknown sources.
So at least that's fixed!
New problem. Starting with this version of MIUI, if you allow an app to display permanent notifications, they'll be shown on the lock screen even if you've disabled lock screen notifications. I suppose this will get fixed in a future update.
For Mx player issue.. Temporary fix is every time you open it, after opening go to the mx player app info and force stop it then open mx player again. You'll be able to play videos normally.
