Hi,
I posted this on the custom rom post I tried, but I figured it would be more suitable here. The OS I tried is the one from this post:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/development/rom-lineageos-15-1-t3806615
Maybe I missed something in the installation steps and I hope someone can help me out here.
I managed to unlock my LG G4 H812 and installed this rom (I tried another ROM too based on Nougat). However, after I installed this ROm, I can no longer play video files without any lags or artefact in them. The quality is really poor.
My main goal was to use it for Daydream, but it didn't work well and when I tried playing some video files, it didn't work as good as before I unlocked my phone.
So I decided to reinstall the ROM and did not configure it for Daydream as I was thinking it was maybe the reason why the videos didn't play well and I still get issues with videos.
I just tried installing Moonlight to play through my PC and when I tried to launch a game, I got the following message:
"This device or ROM doesn't support hardware accelerated H.264 playback".
So this must be why my videos are not playing well.
So, are the custom ROMs for LG-G4 supposed to play H.264 correctly or it is a known issue? If it is a known issue, what is the workaround?
Thanks!
Nevermind. I tried a different ROM (H815??) by removing the Assert line and following some steps by steps on the forum (can't find the page again as I closed it) and it worked. Moonlight worked without any error and when I tried playing the same video that was causing issues, it was no longer a problem

After I installed this ROM, the video on Youtube videos dont work. The sound will play, but no video. I hit the "back" button and the sound will still be playing but no video, and there is no way to stop it short from rebooting the phone. Additionally, youtube will lock up and force restart when I do this. Any suggestions? My

Android Revolution HD 2.0.13
Anyone have any suggestions?
I followed r34p3rex's video on installing the ROM after I rooted the phone.
Now it is saying "there was a problem while playing. Touch to retry." I "touch to retry" and get that same error.

Hi, i have been using ARHD ever since 2.0.9. I have never had problems playing videos on youtube. In the recent version there is no youtube issue. So it is difficult to say what is causing the problem for you.
Why don't you try clearing cache/data from youtube, reboot your phone and see if that helps. Did you flash any other kernels? Or are you using the default kernel? Which radio have you flashed?
Something else to try is uninstall YouTube and then reinstall from Market.
The old ARHD YouTube bug was something different anyway... you could play videos fine but it crashed when you pressed back or home buttons. Fixed in all new kernals.
It is not going to let me post a URL but I followed r34p3rex's video on rooting. Howver if you do a youtube search for "Unleashing the HTC Inspire 4G", it is the first video.
as long as you have succeeded installing ARHD and booting it, it does not matter which guide you follow. The important thing here is to work on your issue not the guide you followed!
Try what i suggested and what citizenlee suggested and see that helps.

why don't you try different kernel then...it could help!
What ARHD are you running?
If it's latest 2.0.13 then you should have Buzz 1.22GHz 1.2.5 OCUV kernel.
nothing is wrong with mine,
Android Revo HD 2.0.13
Dude, I had the same problem with Android Revolution HD 2.0.12. Couldn't play any videos
I updated to 2.0.13 and the problem was gone. My battery life is heaps better too.
Happened to me in 2.0.13, well actually whenever my browser loaded flash it quit. I rebooted, reclocked my cpu to 1 ghz then overclocked it to 1.2 and it worked
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Things I have done
1. re-rooted the phone
2. Installed Buzz-Ace-0.0.3-OCUV kernal
I verified that youtube videos play fine before I install the ARHD ROM. Youtube videos also do not play from within a browser.
Anything?

What app did you use to do this?
Update: I installed 2.0.14 and Youtube now works.
There is probably a simple resoultion to this but I can't seem to find it. When trying to watch videos in the Android browser app it comes up with a blue lego brick with a white question mark, I have done some reading on this and it seems like its a missing plugin. I could view videos fine before I updated but now I always get the same thing. Thank you in advance for your help
What did you update?
Try installing the Flash plugin from the market.
EDIT:
Actually I tried playing a youtube video through Dolphin Mini browser and got the same thing.
I think it worked fine with froyo (I'm using ARHD 5.x.x now)
I sorry for the late reply. It has happens since the Android revolution 5.1.1 update. I have tried reinstalling the flash plugin with no luck
uninstall using titanium backup, make sure you also remove adobe air..then reboot and reinstall
This might be related to the bug in Adobe Flash 10.2
Somewhere around here is a link to the 10.1 version that works fine (a quick search will reap rewards).
1: go find old version of flash player.apk files
2: install it on your phone (sort of like downgrade the flash player version)
3: now go market upgrade to the latest flash player version
4: restart your browser and try going to the website again, problem shld be solved. works for me. im on ar hd 5.1.3 btw.
hope this solves ur problem.
Hi,
I have been reasonably happy with my Wildfire S, even though it was a little slow and clunky. I thought about rooting it, but never got around to doing it until yesterday. The reason for that is that Wunderlist, the only app I actually use has been updated and now supposedly needs Android 4.0+
That's not a big deal right? Just unlock, root and then flash a CyanogenMod based on an Android version that's high enough. To be honest it wasn's as easy as I imagined and it took me the whole day yesterday to read everything, select a ROM and manage to flash it correctly. The only problem: Wunderlist still doesn't run on it!
I have tried a couple of CM 10.1 versions, with various GAPPs builds, but Google Play still tells that it is not supported by my device. I have also downloaded and installed the apk from the Wunderlist website, but the app doesn't start :crying:
Can anybody help me? What is the problem here? Will an different ROM work? Is it impossible to install Wunderlist on WFS?
I have tried A LOT of To-Do Lists and I'm not willing to switch to anything else. If I can't get my Wunderlist on WFS, I think I'll a new phone.
PS: Sorry for the lack of links, but I can't post external links as a newbie
EDIT: So, I managed to install a CM11 ROM, using a more recent version of the ClockWorkMod recovery. CM11 is based on Android 4.4.4, which did the trick. I couldn't access Wunderlist via the Play Store though, but I could isntall it via the apk. My phone is a little slower than I'd like, but at least I have my Wunderlist
I have tried several AOSP roms and have not gotten Netflix to work on any of them. I have tried liquidsmooth and PacRom but I keep getting Error (-9). Does anyone know of a fix for this? Please help..Thanks.

Using SELinuxModeChanger app, you can set to permissive and give it a go, it sometimes work.
Another method is to delete a lib file within
/system/vendor/lib
Liboemcrypto.so, you can rename or simply delete, then reboot the device.

I personally didn't have luck with the permissive change and couldn't find the liboemcrypto.so file you spoke of. Is that specific to the Galaxy Note 4?
No sir, most ROMs don't have the lib, and what ROM are you using ?
Using liquid smooth on a moto xt926. I've noticed this problem on various cm12 ROMs I've tried. They had Netflix running for a while then it kind of stopped for recently then I think the last one I tried that I worked on was bliss pop 3.2. Jump over to liquid smooth because. Was pretty laggy and causing me a little pain. Back to a loading screen. Never comes up. I will say I thought it was a host file or ad block problem because I could get it going on WiFi. Just not on cellular data.
Think pulling and using the apk from a nexus device would change anything?
Beats me, I think that it probably is not an issue with the apk itself.
My best guess is that it is ROM related. Didn't cm ROMs have some DRM related issues a year or so ago? Wouldn't surprise me if it's something along those lines.
BTW, forgot to mention that you can't even get to netflix.com and browser. just more thoughts as to why I don't think it's actual program related it something in the ROM.
It is ROM/Kernel related for the Note 4 before I think @Mod57 fixed it but all it was is to change a build.prop line. Try and see if this works for you as well.
persist.hwc.mdpcomp.enable=false
If the value is already there and it says True, change it to false.
Did this on a previous build (cm12 5-8-2015 I believe), seems to work although more testing is needed to determine consistency. Failed first time worked second.
Sure hope that's it....!
Has anyone had better luck finding a solution for this? I came from DU's latest and now on CM12.1 6/25 nightly, everything is working great except for Netflix. I was never able to get it to work in DU so I won't be terribly heartbroken if I can't get it fixed, but I do not have Lyboemcrypto.so file or that specific persist line in my build.prop. Any other suggestions? I was getting a -504 error when attempting to install a couple apps, turning flight mode on/off took care of that, so I tried that as well as wifi on and off both for Netflix but cannot get it to initialize, all I get is the constant red spinning circle of the first screen. Thanks
Workaround
Install the module xposed cm10.1 Netflix workaround under xposed framework. Works perfectly on t0lte.
Edit: working on cm12.1

Xiaomi Mi 10T 12.1.1.0.RJDMIXM
I experienced the following issues after recently updating to Android 11. Any help would be much appreciated.
1. I can no longer side load any app.
APK installation fails every time whether it's attempted on the phone or via ADB. I tried everything I could find online short of disabling MIUI optimization, as I'd prefer not to suffer the pain of resetting permissions (again). Has anyone successfully restored side load functionality in Android 11 by disabling MIUI optimization?
It may instead be related to something Google introduced with Android 11 called app integrity, which apparently makes it more difficult (hopefully not impossible) to install apps from sources other than the Play store. If this is the culprit, does anyone know of a workaround that doesn't involve me having to root my phone (too much hassle/risk for my liking), or reverting to Android 10 (assuming that's possible)?
2. MX Player keeps crashing after a few seconds of video playback.
I'm not sure whether this is a fault of MX Player, MIUI or Android 11. It's the latest version and worked just fine before the update.
3. BlackPlayer keeps hanging whenever I open it.
I'm not sure whether this is a fault of BlackPlayer, MIUI or Android 11. It's the latest version and worked just fine before the update.
I updated my Mi10T Pro to Android 11 with that version through OTA. After multiple reboots all sorts of weird things were still happening and I wasn't happy using the phone. The things you describe are the sort of problems I had - though not those things specifically.
I the end I figured I had no choice but to do a Factory Reset. Yes, it was a painful process re-authenticating into most apps, but since then the phone has been completely stable and no issues, including easy sideloading.
Neither of these three issues were solved by performing a factory reset, unfortunately.
Although, it turns out that if you uninstall 'MIUI security components' (com.miui.guardprovider) when debloating – something I believe Xiaomi introduced with this version of MIUI – you lose the ability to side load. Leaving it alone retains the ability to install from unknown sources.
So at least that's fixed!
New problem. Starting with this version of MIUI, if you allow an app to display permanent notifications, they'll be shown on the lock screen even if you've disabled lock screen notifications. I suppose this will get fixed in a future update.
For Mx player issue.. Temporary fix is every time you open it, after opening go to the mx player app info and force stop it then open mx player again. You'll be able to play videos normally.
