After flashing a new ROM (LeeDrOiD, but I don't think it has anything to do with the ROM itself) and restoring backup, I got a "wrong PIN" message after the first reboot. This was with WidgetLocker installed. So I wiped and did not reinstall WidgetLocker, but it still seems that when I do a restore with Titanium Backup I get a different PIN set after the first reboot. I tried three times yesterday with wipe and less and less settings restored, the last time I haven't dared turning my phone off.
So, does anyone know exactly what setting I should erase from the restore library to avoid getting an unknown PIN set after the first reboot
I am running 4.2.2 (I9195XXUBNB3), rooted.
I enabled device encryption and then SD card encryption. I wanted to reverse that decision. First, I unencrypted the SD card just fine.
But now, I try to go to "Decrypt device", confirm the password, and click "decrypt device". It shows the green robot for a few seconds, and then reboots, and prompts me for my device decryption password.
I have repeated several times. Any suggestions what to do?
I think you need to backup your data, and do a complete factory reset.

Thanks. Short of that last resort, is there some way I can see logs of what the problem is? Maybe I can deduce a solution without having to reset?
I have been flashing custom roms, presently I had a pin set up on the phone. When I went into TWRP it asked for a password, I never set TWRP up with any password. I was going to make another nandroid, so I reboot back into the system to remove the security settings to flash the nandroid. Now it is telling me my 4 digit pin is wrong on the phone and will not set me back into the phone or TWRP. I figure if I can get into TWRP I can flash an already made nandroid I have stored on the internal. Any Suggestions.

Where do I find it and how to properly use it.. I am on his TWRP he released a couple of weeks ago that allows EFS back up.
The issue is I can not get into TWRP, when it boots its requiring a Password that I never created and then tells me it can not mount storage. I would have tried getting into System/Data and deleting the Lock Setting keys to resolve but I can not get storage to mount.
This is the same place I was at with my first Play before I got so frustrated and threw it off a wall and had to buy a replacement.

Formatting /data would have been easier, no
It is the password for encrypted /data partition, just skip the password step with the cancel button and FORMAT the data partition with a fresh ext4 or f2fs file system from the "wipe"->"advanced wipe" menu

Once I hit cancel TWRP informed me no storage was mounted, so I was not able to do so that method.
But trust me there was great satisfaction in throwing against the wall.
I was able to go into adb and format that way.

That is the point, you can't mount the encrypted partition, so you FORMAT it, with a new unencrypted filesystem
If u can get into twrp. You can remove the pin settings. I had same problem. Go to file manager /data/system/ and erase all files that say lock settings. But I'm not sure how to get into twrp if that is locked? Maybe reflash it???? Don't quote me on that though

What you say is true if you need to reset the Lockscreen PIN of the booted system, but OP means the encryption password for /data that TWRP is asking for before starting
:good: Gotcha!!!! Thanks for clarifying. If you get a solution I'd be curious to see tyevsolution
Hey guys,
i wanted to flash something, so i rebooted into recovery and i was asked for a password. I skipped this and made a normal reboot, but I have to enter a password. I've set a lockscreen password a few days ago only for a few hours, after that i disabled it and since then i have no pin, fingerprint or something else. Some people say that we can delete in twrp filemanager *.key files, but if I go to /data, it shows nothing (on /system I see all folders and files). My phone is also not recognized by PC (https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/help/solution-fix-unlock-phone-restore-twrp-t3508173).
Any suggestions? Just made a reboot and now i can't access my files. I know that format data will solve that, but I really want to avoid that.
Edit: Storage was corrupted, so i had to full wipe...
No USB debug enabled
no custom recovery installed
no google account
I have personal photos, videos etc are stored in the phone internal memory and i'm looking for pattern unlock without losing the data. are there any ways to get around this pattern lock and get my data? or only the wipe data/factory reset is the only option? Would i be able to recovery data after factory reset using any of the tools?
