P2 OEM Unlock in dev settings

Hi, recently I switched from Nexus 5 to Lenovo P2 but the phone I got has bloatware from T-Mobile and they don't seem to hurry with releasing Nougat to my phone
I noticed that in dev setting there's an option to OEM unlock the device, does it unlock the bootloader or just permits me to unlock it manually?
If so, after unlocking all I'll need to do will be just to flash TWRP and that's it?

This option only allows you to unlock it, it doesn't actually unlocks the bootloader
I asked a bootloader unlocking from my device. If after the 14 days period I don't unlock it with fastboot, do you think my warranty is still valid ?
I am thinking oft buying this Phone but rooting is very important to me. What I have found out so far is that you have to unlock your bootloader to install TWRP. Your warranty will officially be void.
Now my question: has sb send his phone to repair in Germany? Does Lenovo really check their database for your phone? And what about this 14 days wait?
Thanks in advance

Huawei Honor Bootloader Unlock Problem "waiting for device"

Hey everyone, I'm new here and sorry if this is a silly question. I've installed custom roms on a few android phones before but this Huawei GR5 (or the Honour 5x everywhere else?!) is giving me issues.
I've followed guides to unlock my bootloader and have my unlock code, but when I try adb reboot bootloader, it boots into a screen I showing the unlock status (locked) and I type the bootloader unlock command with my code it just sits forever saying "waiting for device"
So what could be going on? Is this because I've encrypted the phone? Or am I just missing something.

Accidentally locked bootloader

Alright guys, I was trying to fix my fingerprint (which I ended up doing) by flashing the global dev ROM 7.8.31 via fastboot with the miflash tool but I accidentally locked the bootloader while doing so. My phone came with the bootloader unlocked and now I can no longer unlock the bootloader. in developper options, the OEM unlocking option is enabled but no matter what I do in fastboot, the process simply does not work. I get the remote token verification has failed message. I have tried every freakin guide out there but my phone now refuses to get unlocked. I can't flash anything with miflash tool anymore, it just says failed, even when trying to flash the global dev 7.8.31 ROM. Anyone can help me here? Xiaomi says my device is unsupported for unlocking yet it was unlocked from the start........
What i did was the official unlock guide from xiaomi where you will get the code from them. Sadly you have to wait for 3days to be able to unlock them again.
Well check this thread...

You can reapply if you got rejected

Well I did that but it kept on saying I had too many IP requests of sorts but I used TunnelBear and set my location to Hong Kong and that allowed me to bypass that and the request was passed through. Surprisingly, I got a message 4 hours later that said I was able to unlock it instead of the 2-7 days it took for most people to get theirs
Same happened to me. I re-lock bootloader to install android pay, and bricked my phone.
Have to reboot in EDL mode (after >50 tries) and flash again.
But... Flashed a locked bootloader version, so i have to request for official unlock (phone came unlocked)
Now I have unlocked bootloader, with Magisk and Safety Net module with Android Pay working fine.
PS: i also had the IP problem. Used a Chinese proxy to override restriction.

Unlocking Bootloader

So lately, I tried to unlock bootloader of my Samsung Galaxy M30 with One UI Core 2.0. As I had read in many guides that after successful unlock, the option of unlocking OEM will be grayed out. But when I enabled it, it asked for my device PIN, then Samsung account password and switched off automatically. After factory reset, it booted up but the OEM unlock option was still blue and togglable. It read Bootloader already unlocked!
I'm confused because there was no 'device lock' mode in download mode, no need to 'long press power up to unlock Bootloader in download mode' or 'no gray toggles'.
On Download Mode I could see "OEM lock: OFF" . Does it mean that my Bootloader is unlock.

You are bootloader unlocked. Check the guides on this forum, and also the TWRP thread.

Only Official binaries are allowed to be flashed

hello everyone
i have device SM-G960F Indonesia
with latest modem and bootloader which is G960FXXUHFVB4
security patch 1 march 2022
developer option is = ON
OEM UNLOCKING = ON (Bootloader already unlocked)
USB DEBUGGING = ON
*in Download mode
RMM STATE = PRENORMAL
KG STATE = CHECKING....
FRP LOCK = OFF
OEM LOCK = OFF
the question is , i can't install twrp. how ?
error : "Only Official binaries are allowed to be flashed".
i've been looking to google page 2 but no solution
1. from changing the date trick,
2. using miracle box to baypass the rmm
none of them works,
i still can't install twrp, error : "Only Official binaries are allowed to be flashed"
if there's anyone who can solve my problem, i owe you my thanks.
I don't know if it applied to the S9, but most recent Samsung phones have a very particular way of fully unlocking the bootloader as such
How to unlock bootloader:
- Backup all your media, this process will delete your internal media including music and photos
- Go to developer settings and enable [OEM Unlock]
- Reboot to download mode
- When prompted, press and hold VOL + to enter bootloader unlock mode
- Press VOL + to confirm you want to unlock bootloader, this will wipe your data
- If you think the bootloader is fully unlocked, it is actually not! Samsung introduced VaultKeeper, meaning the bootloader will still reject any unofficial partitions before VaultKeeper explicitly allows it.
- Go through the initial setup. Skip through all the steps since data will be wiped again later when we flash TWRP and magisk
- Enable developer options, and confirm that the OEM unlocking option exists and is grayed out. This means the VaultKeeper service has unleashed the bootloader. This step is MANDATORY
- Your bootloader now accepts unofficial images in download mode.

Yeah it looks like the guide really covered their bases. Check download mode and check unlock mode to see if it asks you to unlock (and not lock) the device.
I've had Samsung devices in the past that required this step more than once since the first time it still gave me the option to unlock instead of locking, which means that it didn't really unlock in the first place.
Has anybody solved this issue?
