Huawei Honor Bootloader Unlock Problem "waiting for device" - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hey everyone, I'm new here and sorry if this is a silly question. I've installed custom roms on a few android phones before but this Huawei GR5 (or the Honour 5x everywhere else?!) is giving me issues.
I've followed guides to unlock my bootloader and have my unlock code, but when I try adb reboot bootloader, it boots into a screen I showing the unlock status (locked) and I type the bootloader unlock command with my code it just sits forever saying "waiting for device"
So what could be going on? Is this because I've encrypted the phone? Or am I just missing something.

Mi5s - No Need To Unlock This Device

2 months ago I bought mi5s from china. Till this time almost I have tried everything drivers find mi device unlock permission etc. But afterall i am seeing that message. If anyone have a solution please help me.
Thanks...

I bought the phone in China as well. I found the phone is unlock already. I try to relock it because of using Android Pay. The unlock status will change to "lock" after running "fastboot oem lock". But, after rebooting the phone and run fastboot again, the status of the phone will reverted back to unlock status, ie. unlock status = True.
Anyone know what's wrong?
I know the Galaxy S7 has a 'hardware unlock', so when you unlock it you can never relock it. I'm wondering whether that's the case here aswell.

Accidentally locked bootloader

Alright guys, I was trying to fix my fingerprint (which I ended up doing) by flashing the global dev ROM 7.8.31 via fastboot with the miflash tool but I accidentally locked the bootloader while doing so. My phone came with the bootloader unlocked and now I can no longer unlock the bootloader. in developper options, the OEM unlocking option is enabled but no matter what I do in fastboot, the process simply does not work. I get the remote token verification has failed message. I have tried every freakin guide out there but my phone now refuses to get unlocked. I can't flash anything with miflash tool anymore, it just says failed, even when trying to flash the global dev 7.8.31 ROM. Anyone can help me here? Xiaomi says my device is unsupported for unlocking yet it was unlocked from the start........
What i did was the official unlock guide from xiaomi where you will get the code from them. Sadly you have to wait for 3days to be able to unlock them again.
Well check this thread...

Well I did that but it kept on saying I had too many IP requests of sorts but I used TunnelBear and set my location to Hong Kong and that allowed me to bypass that and the request was passed through. Surprisingly, I got a message 4 hours later that said I was able to unlock it instead of the 2-7 days it took for most people to get theirs
Same happened to me. I re-lock bootloader to install android pay, and bricked my phone.
Have to reboot in EDL mode (after >50 tries) and flash again.
But... Flashed a locked bootloader version, so i have to request for official unlock (phone came unlocked)
Now I have unlocked bootloader, with Magisk and Safety Net module with Android Pay working fine.
PS: i also had the IP problem. Used a Chinese proxy to override restriction.

Nexus 5X bootloader re-lock at every reboot

Hello,
I've got a replacement Nexus 5X from Google after my first was dead. I never tried to unlock then before today.
Today, I've tried to unlock it and use the "flash-all.sh" script for pushing the stock Oreo build from Google.
fastboot flashing unlock seems to work, after using it (and confirm), the bootloader print "state unlocked" in red on the screen.
But when I used the "flash-all.sh" scripts, it re-lock after flashing the first part (and reboot). I've finally flashing it by adding "fastboot flashing unlock" between each flashing command in script.
After that, I've tested "fastboot flashing unlock" after Oreo in installed : it's works, but the phone re-lock itself at the next boot, preventing any rooting or custom ROM usage.
On my first Nexus 5X, one unlock was enough.
Is there a way to definitively unlock my phone ?
Edit : it seems I've this problem "No RPMB" is printed after Secure boot state.

bootloader unlock is not persistent

Hi,
I've tried "fastboot flashing unlock" on my Nexus 5X, and while it shows that the device is unlocked, it will be locked upon a reboot, and I need to run it again. Is this the expected behavior? Doesn't seem to be since the flash-all script doesn't work since it expects the bootloader to remain unlocked upon reboot.
What's wrong?

Unknown error unlocking bootloader!

Hi folks,
I have waited more than 788 hours to unlock my Note 5 Pro bootloader. When I have connected connected the device in fastboot, mi unlock tool has not recognised my device. I had to reinstall adb drivers and reboot the device multiple times. Now it is recognised and started the process of unlocking the bootloader. The tool is struck at 99% and after few minutes it says "-1 unknown error unlocking the bootloader"
Using the same account, sim and device. Please help.
Thanks
Update:
Unlocked the bootloader successfully. Issue was with the fastboot drivers.

I have unlocked the bootloader successfully. The issue is with the fastboot drivers. Try rebooting in fastboot mode and connect to computer. Under device manager check if your device is recognised as adb interface or bootloader interface. If it's adb interface then you are good to go. Else click update driver and select the 2nd option to update from computer. Again choose the second option to choose from a list and in the list select adb and click next and proceed. Now your device should be recognised as adb interface. Now try unlocking.

Can't . You have to wait the whole time
Just turn off USB Debugging in the developer setting if it is on and restart the device to bootloader and use the latest version of the MI Unlock tool. Hope it may work. It worked with me.
