Question Galaxy Gear S3 + Gear Fit 2 - Allow Notification Access? - Google Pixel 6 Pro

I wear a Gear Fit 2 at night and/or any time I'm active and I wear a Galaxy Gear S3 during the day. This combo has worked well for me for a few years, across several other phones but for some reason this Pixel has a hard time handing off the exchange from one to the other. Whichever watch I'm not wearing stays on the charger. Every phone (including the Pixel) pretty much seamlessly disconnects from the other watch and connects to the new one each time.
The issue with the Pixel is that I must enable notification access for the new watch EVERY SINGLE time I switch. The new watch can't receive any notifications until I enable it in settings each time. As soon as I enable it for one watch, the other watch someone becomes disabled.
I went through every setting that I can think of and granted Galaxy Wearable, Gear Fit Plugin, and Gear S Plugin every permission that can be granted (unless I've missed something). The phone is rooted and I've tried to convert the apps to system apps in hopes that it would help but I've not been successful with Titanium or Root Explorer in converting them.
Anyone have any ideas that I can try?

[Q] Moto 360 & Google Fit - Activities History

I can't work out what the problem is here and it's frustrating the hell outta me!
Basically, it seemed to be working fine. On the 360 and within the Google Fit app my daily history could be seen.
Unrelated, I reset my HTC One M8 to factory. I did the same with the 360 and started over again.
Since then, Google Fit just doesn't seem interested in keeping my history. It has no problems counting steps and taking heart rate on the day. If on Monday I did 5,000 steps, come Tuesday when I look at my history on the 360 and on the phone, it will tell me how many steps I've done Tuesday (today) but in the history part it displays nothing. The graph on the watch will display only today. Yesterdays, day before, day before that etc. - nothing. On the watch it will have a 0 next to the day. In the app it will simply say 'your activities will appear here' - but they never do.
I've tried clearing Fit data from within the app and from the Android apps menu, resyncing apps, resetting watch, repairing watch with phone, uninstalling everything to do with Fit and the 360. To no avail. Irritatingly my father in law has a 360 but paired with a Note II and he has no problem recording and viewing his history.
I'm not sure where the fault lies, whether it's with the 360, Google Fit or my HTC One M8.
Anyone else experiencing the same?

[Q] Recovering Watch Faces after Watch reset

I have had to reset my Moto 360 and repair it with my Samsung Galaxy S6. When I go into the Android Wear app, I am noticing several of my watch faces are missing. Some of them do eventually reappear. I know the watch faces are still on my phone because when I try to reinstall them, they show already installed. Is there a way to get the Android Wear application to refresh the watch faces that are on the phone? This seems like a stupid bug since it seems the watch needs to be reset every so often and I always seem to have this problem. I can't believe I have to remove and reinstall all the faces especially since I do not remember all the ones I bought without going through a long history of my app purchases.
I've had this happen a few times and this time I was digging around in the settings of the Android Wear app.
Tap the cog in the top right corner>Select your watch name>Tap Resync Apps.
See if that works for you. My watch synced everything except the faces and that fixed it for me.
Not working for me with Quick pic. Nexus 6.
Same message as photos stopped.
Give it time after a reset or new/replacement watch. If it's on your phone it will eventually appear on the watch. Last time I reset it, it took approximately 2 hours to get back to normal.

Moto 360 & ios & Aerlink and many questions

I have an android tablet, and an iphone. And for a few days a moto 360.
In order to use custom faces, i have first synced the watch with tablet, installed faces, then turned off bluetooh on tablet. So here comes the strange part. By the way i have read the suggestion from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3199656
Then i had to install this strange Aerlink on iphone. Very strange tool. Has just two buttons/options: start camera( which we %99 do not need), and "selected lists", which anyhow has 2 items: amazon, reminder. No idea what it is for.. Most strange app i have ever seen, and unbelievably costs 2€. Anyway.. but it anyway synced the watch a bit with the phone.
After this story here are my questions:
1- is there any other more reliable/convenient Aerlink alternative out there? i get notifications on watch, but other apps like maps, contacts etc. Do not work. Why? Is this normal behaviour by coupling this watch with ios? Also sometimes i do not get any notifications and i have to go to aerlink on watch and turn off the ios service off and on again. Although i did not restart the phone or watch. So it is really frustrating. Unreliable.
2- When i want to use some other faces, i have to enable bluetooth of my android tablet and send some files. After that i turn bluetooth off again and then try to reconnect to iphone. This is very frustrating. I turn the ios service in the aerlink of watch off and on.. i try to enable bluetooth connection of watch to aerlink from the watch settings, i close the aerlink app and open again on ios.. after 5min try somehow it works again.. sometimes it just keeps the iphone connection at the same time and i dont have to do anything. does someone know a clean way of doing this?
3-when i get notification, icons of some apps are not displayed on the watch. How can i fix this? When i get notifications from tablet though, even some pictures will be seen on the background. Can i have the same display with iphone?
4- how can i disable this cloud icon on my watch (wlan icon i think)? Since my tablet is also on the same wlan/network, when i enable wlan on watch, the icon disappers since a valid connection is set, but i start to get all notifications of the tablet, so i want to keep it disabled. But this cloud icon is on my screen always.
5- is there any way of using custom faces on my watch, by syncing the iphone with the default/clean/reliable app android wear?
I appreciate for your help in advance.

Google Fit

Howdy everyone,
I just purchased a Huawei watch that I'd like to use to replace my FitBit plus lots more that you can do with Android Wear.
Odd thing that I'm dealing with is that the watch and phone are reporting wildly different steps - it appears that Google Fit on the watch and Google Fit on the phone are not communicating.
I have looked at the Google Fit Connects Apps -> Google Fit apps & devices, but do not see the Huawei watch listed - if the watch is connected properly, should it show up here? If it is supposed to be listed to connected Google Fit properly, how do I make that happen?
Thanks.
Which app is set to count your steps in the actions menu?
Android Wear App -> scroll to the bottom -> More Actions -> Show me my steps -> Fit
Good question. Ive been thinking about this. Given that Fit is on the device and the Huawei fit app is also there, which app gives the better stats, as they show different step counts. Also, if you are using the Google Fit app, is that only counting steps when you have your phone on you, or does it count steps when you leave your phone on your desk?
Edit:
Just tested it and it appears as though Google Fit uses the watch to calculate step data as I left my phone on my desk and went for a walk, and the step count increased.
I have the same problem i was expecting the watch would be connected to the phone app but it doesn't look like it. So what happens when i start one of the predefined activities on the phone such as stationary bike the watch is not doing anything. I can only start tracking from the native wear app which has very few predefined tracking types. Is there any solution to this?
Not sure if this is a common bug or not - if I do NOT have Fit installed on my phone, fit tracks steps on my watch fine, but if I install Fit on my phone, it just reads zeros for current activity on the phone and the watch.. but if I uninstall Fit on the phone, it seems to work fine on the watch. Trying to figure out if it's a phone or watch issue. I did give it permissions to read sensors on both phone and watch on install
Same issues
Google fit did not record steps on my gen 1 Moto 360. I just bought the Huawei Watch as a replacement and fit still does not record steps. The Huawei app works great. I am at a loss on how to get this working. I can't believe it does not work at all. There has to be a setting issue but I have yet to find it.
Update: I have Fit working pretty well now. (have to go back and change my rating of fit from 1 star to maybe 3 ) Here is what I did:
- Deactivated Fit on my phone and deleted all the data. Then I reactivated it.
- I went into the Wuawei fitness app and connected it to Fit. There was not an option to do it the other way. But after I connected it it shows up in connected apps in Fit.
- Everything pretty much started working after this. One thing to note: Everything does not sync automatically. I have to open my Wuawei fitness app on my phone and update it before those steps seem to show up in Fit. So, it is not perfect but it is close.
Old thread but if you guys are still having the same issues with Huawei Watch and Google Fit, please join this thread and submit a bug report. https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/77606997

Samsung Galaxy watch active with pixel 3 xl

I got my wife the Samsung Galaxy active watch and it paired just fine with her Pixel 3 XL. The watch is missing a messaging app. She is able to get messaging notifications and reply to messages, but can't access previous messages because the little blue messaging app is nowhere on her watch. I tried to got to app store on the watch but couldn't find anything to download. All reviews on YouTube show that app right from the start. Am I missing something? Is this an option only for Galaxy phones? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You won't be able to see the messages unless you you a Samsung phone (which has the messages app), but when you get a text message, it will show on the watch, you can reply back to it and see previous messages. Make sure you have "messages" notifications enabled from the wear app. I am using the galaxy watch with the pixel 3 xl.

Hey dude, I don't have one but am considering switching to it from my Fossil Sport because the Sport battery sucks. I have a couple questions for you since you're the only person who said they have one that I found! If you don't mind:
1. What's your battery life like?
2. I use the Nike Run app... if you open it on your phone will you geet any view of it on the Samsung watch?? That is why I originally got the Fossil
3. Do you think the Active is just as good with your Pixel as it would be with a Samsung? I have an S10+ now but I change phones like most people change underwear lol.
4. Anything else you can tell me to help me make my final decision..
PLEASE!!!! lol. thanks man.

Hey there,
1.Battery life in my case is like around 15% usage a day which is great given, the idea of the tizen is very different than wear os. sarcastically, I got the fossil sport as well, and I have been using that over the galaxy watch. The galaxy sport would probably have a great battery as well, maybe a little less than the galaxy watch.
2. I have not seen the nike app on the galaxy watch, however, I have used s-health. I was able to get decent tracking but without a map gps, you'd be limited to mapmyrun a few other ones, I honestly only used shealth since I found third party apps to drain the battery much much much quicker.
3. Yes, going with the active would be a solid choice, again, then only thing you won't get is the ability to recall text messages at any time, but you'd be able to view them and reply back to them as notifications or as they come in + you can compose a new one. Keep in mind that it doesn't have the real bixby, it is s-voice, which is extreme trash.
I also change phones like underwear "JOD"... It even works on the iphone but that's different "you won't be able to reply to notifications or messages, just view them"
3.a -- there is an app called pulse sms I believe or something like that that would allow you to sync text messages on the watch, view them, do anything you'd want with them, just will drain your phone's battery and watch like crazy.
4. Anything to help you. Well, if you will hold onto your android wear, it is nice to have both. I went back to android wear "with the faults of it and the bad battery life over the galaxy wear stuff", for me:
Pros of the galaxy wear:
-Great battery life.
-Consistent performance "once in a while it would lag but not that much"
Cons:
-Using it as a smart device is just not great.
-It is s-voice branded bixby which is just bad, like really frustrating to use, to the point that you'd find yourself typing on the t9 keyboard they provide rather than talking to that piece of S.
-App support sucks. Forexample, I am grocery shopping and I made a list in google keep, and I don't want to have my phone out, you can't pull google keep on the watch like android wear. Also, other apps like spotify is more frustrating to use than good.
-No google assistant. I use smart home stuff, and unless you have the samsung hub, you cannot control your stuff, wink, wemo ifftt, etc. That ecosystem is still very very very poor compared to android wear.
Overall: If you are looking for a watch with great battery life, and the ability to see and minimally reply back to text messages while using stock-ish apps like s-health and you're okay with a very limited app and community support, go for it.
If you're looking to have more apps, watch-faces, voice assistant, more fitness apps, you're in the google eco-system, stay with wear OS because it can be a very unpleasant experience after the honey-moon period.
Hope this helps, let me know if you have anymore questions.
Thanks that exactly what I needed. Today my Fossil battery life was way better so maybe it just had to bake in after the recent update. I went with Android WearOS originally because of the app support and potential. I'm hoping the battery continues to get better. I was struggling to make a day without a bit of a charge, however I'm on my final walk with the dog today and it's still around 30% after a 7am wake up. I couldn't justify both watches but I'm jealous you have em lol
