What about security updates? - Samsung Galaxy S9 Questions & Answers

Is it true that the march security updates were the last for S9 phones? So would it be wise to move on now?

Why? You triple vaxed and believe everything you're told?
If you're running Android 9 or higher the device is relatively secure unless you do something stupid.
No saving dumb bunnies.
You are what you install and download. Know the vulnerabilities of the firmware and take steps to mitigate them like disabling wifi, using a firewall and keeping trashware like WhatsApp, FB, etc off the phone. Keep all adware off the phone.
This stock N10+ is running on Pie, current load will be 2 yo this June. Still fast, stable with minimal maintenance. Security has not been an issue.

Safetynet failing with Android N

Havent had the opportunity to try Android pay yet. Anyone else getting similar results? Android pay and Safetynet worked before updating via beta test ota.

Came across a Reddit thread (https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/49pfgk/android_n_developer_preview_megathread/d0tnsjf) as well as an XDA thread (http://www.xda-developers.com/xda-e...oid-pay-will-not-work-on-android-n/?nocache=1) and note that Android pay will not work at the moment due to any services that rely on passing Google’s Compatibility Test Suite (CTS) will fail

Cpu usage of one core at 100%

Hi, I've got some problems with my 5x lately, and the problem is that one core of the cpu runs at 100% and the only solution is reboot. It's pretty annoying, because it slows down the device and the battery is draining quicker. I don't have root or unlocked bootloader and I'm running on stock 7.0 with november security patch. Does anyone have/had problem like this and found some solution?

try a factory reset
Most likely a rogue app. Think to when this problem started happening and try to remember if you installed any new apps or if any apps were updated around then. Then disable or uninstall those apps and see if the problem ceases.
I agree most likely one of your apps.
Next time it happens use Settings > Developer Options > Running Services and catch it in the act.

Running on Pie you don't need to use a screen lock. You are the most likely person to get locked out... I use double tap on/off.
Android 10 may break it, Android 11 certainly will.

Question When the August update arrives?

When the August update arrives? I am still in April .. I live in Latin America.
I get updates every month in EU, rocking August right now.
What's the rush with updates from Samsung ? Is very known Samsung treats very serious updates to all their phones . Personally I've received August update since 11 Aug.
I have also an OnePlus 2021(EU var.) and I'm still 0n Android 11....
May I ask what benefits this update carry?
I imagine security updates but, apart from that, are there other real benefits or are they just minor, unimportant things?
Thanks

Disable Playstore auto updates as well. They can screw you up... Once I get a device optimized I don't upgrade/update firmware. I rarely update apps. Result is a very long lived, stable platform with minimal issues.
Samsung Wearables updates and Buds+ firmware upgrades have broken stuff for me. I also block these especially the firmware upgrades. Samsung is hit or miss... goofballs
