Hey guys so I switched from Samsung to the OnePlus 5T and I want to get new emojis, these stock android ones are not nice at all. I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice or tell me how I can get some new emojis please. Thank you

If rooted it's quite simple (replace Notocoloremoji font) but if not rooted than no idea, don't think it'll work :good:
Does anyone know what roms support Verizon WIFI Calling? I tried Pixel Dust and i guess it does not.
Thanks

Stock Rom does... I know you are probably looking for custom ROMS though...but couldn't resist.

Yes, I'm looking for custom ROMs. Thanks for clarifying. I'm on pixel dust right now and WiFi calling doesn't work.
Deleted, didn't realize I was in the xl forum.
Anyone?

Honestly you should run stock flash magisk and a kernel. I'm also using substratum. You would never know I am running stock. I have a custom lockscreen and center clock root etc...

Thanks I'll look into that. It's been almost 2 years since I had an unlocked phone that I don't know much about magisk.
Magisk is great it's like super user but it hides root automatically from things like Android pay and other apps that block root. Flashing a kernel is important when you flash magisk because most contain the patch to hide the fact that your bootloader is unlocked. Without that you can't hide root.
Hey guys i recently got a xiaomi mi a2lite, and i saw what gcam can do with it and i want to get it, but i read that if i unlock the bootload i will lose my current data, theres any way to do it without unlocking the bootload?

You can't root it without unlocking bootloader. There is a method to avoid data erasing when unlocking bootloader. Look into the Guides section. Gcam on android Pie doesn't work well, I gotta say. It can't focus and images come out blurry. So if this is your first time with this kind of stuff, I'd suggest you to keep the phone stock.

On Android Oreo the Gcam worked great and it took amazing pictures but on Pie the difference isn't visible because of the focus issue. I've tried other camera apps on Play Store but none of them are much different than the stock. You can try the ones on Play Store and see for yourself, I can't recommend anything else than sticking to stock. :good:

Last phone I rooted was my mi 9. So far i Havent yet, should I? what do you guys think
Don't root. Not worth the risk and effort. GCam does not work no matter you root or not.

lol i wanted opinions, specifically people who rooted their a50.
I dont see many roms tho :/
I always root my mobile phones. For example to use macrodroid and soms apps that use root.
Can anyone recommend what rom I should get?
So is it true, that you lose root after rebooting? I dont want to root if thats the case
Hey guys,
I currently have a OP5 and I always root my devices to get flawless Adblocking, theming, and google feed on OP launcher. Are these already possible on the OP7T or do we have to wait for an official TWRP? if It's possible is it safe to do?
Yeah, it is safe to do. I just got mine yesterday and fully rooted it. The best and safest tutorial is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=81277507&postcount=613
If you just use any patched boot.img you'll find, it could be the wrong version (there is Europe, Global and Indian) or maybe a wrong OOS version. The safest way is to extract the boot.img yourself and let Magisk Manager patch it. These steps are very easy and took me not even 10 minutes. Also you can keep root if you're doing an OTA update. Just be sure to not reboot once it prompts you and to tell the Magisk Manager to install Magisk on the inactive slot.
Blokada does great adblocking without the need of root, as for theming and what not, I suppose you would wanna root, which isnt too hard to do

I shifted from OP5T to OP7T 4 months back, the rooting seems little different here coz of no TWRP. But there are no issues. Everything works flawless and easy like OP5.
Dont buy it you will regret your decision if you are custom rom lover
For Adblocking you do not need root. Using private DNS is enought

To add more information to my previous post,
Adways works, adblock through xposed also works, google feed through magisk works, through xposed also works. Substratum theming also works flawless.
Few Screenshots are attached.
Guys, on a side note on rooting. Are you all able to use your banking sites? I'm told they don't work well on a rooted phone
Thanks

Thank you Aswin and thank you all.
So to sum it up, everything I can do with my OP5, already works perfectly as long as I am good with tinkering my device and follow good tutorials. Except for installing ROMs which still requires TWRP to be fully compatible.
I guess I'll get it as soon as the prices go down in my country.

You can install ROMS now too, but not simple to switch between ROMs often. Since data including internal is completely erased everytime u switch ROM

That is not device specific. So far no issues with banking apps.
But according Root developer, Google is implementing new changes where it maybe possible for issues with few banking apps, some can be still spoofed to work properly. But that is not device specific.

I too have a 7T using it in the states on Verizon. I know its been asked a million times. What would I gain from being rooted?
Thanks

If you don't know, then rooting probably isn't for you. Now a days, root is becoming less and less required for certain tasks and used to be required in the days of old. When you start finding things that you're wanting to fix on the device (For me it was a proper AOD) then root might start to come up for you. But you're right, if you don't have a good reason for root, I wouldn't. I would at least leave the door open should you need/want it later.

"Back in the day" (PDA phones), I use to flash everything that came along. Same with my first few android phones, but now, I don't even bother. Stock roms are "good enough", and my phone is just a work tool. End of the day, I'm too tired to bother using it unless someone actually calls me LOL.
I'm not a total novice to rooting. When I had my Samsung Note 4, probably the last Samsung able to root easily, I was rooted. After the Note 4 I got the Note 5, then Pixel 2xl. I never felt the need with the 2xl, so I guess with the 7T I may stay stock. It's quite a phone. I do miss the pictures from the Pixel but besides that nothing else. I'm entertaining looking at the 8 pro.

also on Verizon, received my 7T, from OnePlus, on Friday, activated/unlocked/rooted on Saturday.
You gain Titanium, AdAway, AFWall+, All-in-one Toolbox, and Root Browser to access system files.

Whoa, pretty fast.
Now that you have root, what are "things" that your doing to make the phone "better. I'm purely into performance. What will it do for me?

I'm satisfied with Oxygen OS and not really interested in ROMs for now. My concern is with pre-installed apps, ad blocking, apps “phoning home”, and what's running in the background.
Titanium to freeze 7 Google apps & two others that came with the phone and can't be uninstalled, as well as 3 apps that I very rarely use but don't want to download/reinstall/set up when I do need them. In addition to sending scheduled backups to One Drive
AdAway needs root to replace the hosts file and blocks apps & browsers from reaching pretty much every ad server
App Ops to prevent apps from running at startup
Servicely to disable unnecessary background services
AFWall as a firewall to prevent apps from accessing the internet
Root Browser simply because I dislike having anything on my phone that I can't access
Since you're “purely into performance” you'll need to root in order to install tweakable custom kernels when they become available
