If you still have the box it came in: You should find the IMEI on a sticker
ADB? I don't believe it works on a dead phone, but here is a discussion pointing out android-svc

i need to unroot my phone and flash the stock rom back because i am sending my phone back to tmobile for warranty so i was wondering how do unroot and flash the stock rom back to it.
1) Search
2) read the sticky in the Development forum. There is a step-by-step guide for unrooting.
3) ask questions here if you have a specific question about unrooting.
On a personal note, I used the method found HERE to unroot my device and send in for warranty repair. Worked like a champ.
i have tried to unroot but i get main version is older what do i do now?
Can anyone help me out
What is wrong with the phone? Do you have the $5.99/month extended warranty?

Not sure what the warranty has anything to do with it. Whether you have the extended warranty or not you need to unroot to send in for repair. If they find that you've tampered with it they'll charge u full price for a replacement/repair, and if you have handset insurance you'll be charged the deductable. Charges you can sometimes avoid by unrooting.
But yes, OP, exactly which method did you try, and where are you held up? gotta be more specific man...
im using the method that you said worked for u. When the zip file runs after i put the phone in bootloader it get the s-on but it says main version is older! update failed
did you properly edit the line with the hex editor and make the miscnew.img to put on your SDcard?
yes i did the correctly
ok i got it the problem was that i have the original misc.img and miscnew.img on the memory card i deleted misc.img and a left miscnew.img on the there and it worked. Thanks for your help martonikaj

Yep I figured it was something to that effect. I think it tells you to remove the old one, because if the phone uses that instead of the one you edited, the unroot process doesn't work.
glad i could help.

Have you tried flashing a different modem?
I would think I'd just need to flash my backup nv file that a backed up. But I've heard that the old imei may come back after a while.

You didn't answer my question. Flashing a modem might save you all this trouble.
As for playing with IMEI, it's never a good idea and guides are being removed everywhere due to being illegal in some places.
Flash you mean with a jtag or flash like installing a rom with a program. Ive flashed roms through usb and I would know how to flash my nv file on another board
well if I cant change the imei forget it than

By flash, I mean in recovery mode. I suggest you start reading on how to do it.
Changing the IMEI is possible but will be hard to find a good guide on how to do it.

I had done that lol and didn't work. I did solve my problem though. I read nv file from another board with nv-reader-writer and replaced imei with mine and works. I guess the nv file was corrupt.

in the same post he have mentioned how to recover lost imei/efs please read
How to recover lost IMEI that happens with downgrading ROM
If you have lost IMEI just by downgrading (as said by above by flashing older ROM), still you can recover IMEI without having EFS backup.
-Again upgrade ROM will restore IMEI OR
-Flash latest Modem. You can find it here.. You can download MG1 modem and flash using PC Odin with 'Phone' tab instead of PDA.
Remember above said works only if IMEI is corrupted by downgrading ROM only, if it was corrupted by other things, this won't be helpful.
Also Read This, if you have issue restoring EFS OR device stuck to factory mod.
Hope this will find helpful to all newbies regarding question about EFS and IMEI problem. I have posted this to general section so newbie can post to it if they have any queries.

I need a backup from a rooter phone. The file itself. XDA has stated a method to get it but it's already lost for me so no way to get it. There's the way.
-Now when you lose IMEI first try this method. Now take the MPDB_001 file which you took backup at the first step and navigate through
Root explorer to this location ->ROOT->DATA->NVRAM->MD->NVRAM->NVD_IMEI.
I'm really begging you to make that backup and send it to me so i can use it to restore my imei address..
Bro don't worry P8K is a MediaTek device and you can easily restore your IMEI from MTK engineer mode even if you have lost it. I have myself lost it x number of times but was always able to restore it either by flashing stock ROM or via MTK engineer mode. Google it and you will get the process.
I have problem with boot after the failed flashing to bada 2.0, when i turn on the phone it says that file is not found, cant go into download mode and my pc dont recognie it at all. Do you have any suggestions what to do now?

And how to restore bootloader?
See the Internet " repair bootloader"
There are contacts in the phone under the battery compartment sticker.
solder contacts, and using the programmator to restore the firmware.

I know that bootloader must be restored, but could you explain how to do it? Also the programmator is so needful to restore the firmware? Solder? I understand that the soldering iron will be needed?
I do not know. Need to find a service to repair phones and do there.
