Hi,
I was flashing the handset without backup the NVRAM, and now the phone part is dead. He says "No Service". Can someone help me by sending the NVRAM backup of KS20 in the LGMDP backup format (.nv2) or in NVEditor format. I can restore the original IMEI of my phone.
Thanks in advance!

People already said that it was your fault if you can't use your bricked phone... The instructions to flash say many many many times to BACKUP YOUR NV2 before flashing!!! Couldn't you read that f*****g instructions??? Nobody will solve your problem...and please STOP opening new threads about the same issue!
so, try flash your handset with KS20-00-V10b-CIS-xx-FEB-14-2008 and then try to backup NVRAM. Regards

I've already done a backup of my nv2 file and restored correctly with each ROM I've tried since now. nv2 fiel by other users can't be helpful and , again, nobody can help you if you couldn't read simple steps to flash your phone.
an backup of NVRAM from any LG KS20 handset can help me 100%, be sure. A and you can't backup your NVRAM, if the KS20-00-V10b-CIS-xx-FEB-14-2008 flash presents in your handset 100%, be sure too. The phone is not detected by LGDMP in normal mode(only emergency mode), and nor copiing windiag.dll to windows directory, nor correcting the rgeistry do'nt solve this problem!!!

Are you making fun of me ? Do you know what the nv2 file is for??? Why should I give you my nv2 which contains MY IMEI, MY Bluetooth and Wi-fi addrees, MY brand infos ??? IF there's no service maybe you only need to unlock your phone (see the Thread about it).
You listened about NVEditor? then you can remove any sensitive data. I need only calibration data for radio!
All rom can communicate with LGDMP, with some rom you just need some more steps but nothing very difficult ...

Is there that steps a big secret, or you can tell us about that?
it is 100% our fault that we killed our devices.but we are desperate.and we know that if the guys in this forum have not the answer, there is no answer.
The first step is done.
what do you mean?
did u find a solution?
Can u find any nv2 file? Give me it and i give you solution for your handset.
i don't that file.i have the same problem with you.did you repair the signal?
To everyone,
If u need .nv2 file, pm me with ur imei no. and email address, i can generate one for you, but the last digit, which is calculated by your phone, would likely to be different and also i can only generate branded .nv2 since i only got branded .nv2 file. It could be work in unbranded phone but just u need to flash a branded rom or hybrid rom to use with it.
a big big big big big big big big big big big big big big big thanks to raykisi.my phone after 20 days is back to life again.many many thanks man you are the best.

Since IMEI spoofing is illegal in most country, the IMEI is most likely encrypted. I don't know how it is input on the Optimus G, but I had an issue back with my Galaxy S, and let me tell you, just hope you have a backup!!

JTAG is a tool, made by RIFF, not just a software.Any respectable gsm service has one.Rewriting software with JTAG costs between 10 and 20 euros, depending on the phone. At least here in Romania it costs this much.Don't know other countries.
Bottom line, writing the IMEI it's not a DIY job.it can be done only with proper tools,on a specialised center.
I think there would be another way,but i'm not sure, you need to talk to shelnutt or autoprime to confirm or not.
If the EFS backup from other phone can be decompiled, and the IMEI section is find, change the existing imei on that backup with yours, recompile and restore it with freegeee.i repeat, this is just a theory.
Another question, what method did you use to unlock bootloader?

Even with a samsung, if you'd screwed the partitions real good, you'd lose everything, even the backup.

You can try it, but most likely not.
You would need to decrypt the file, replace with your IMEI and encrypt it. copy it and it "would" work, theorically.
OR, you could call your provider and ask them if they can do it. Might not be worth the hassle!

Yes I can resolve sending the phone in service...But my wife told me "don't to do that""
For me will a victory if I rewrite my Imei because in the future i will change new rom... and want learn how to...
how I can enter in Diag Mode?
you're not sending it for waranty, the "waranty" was void when you changed the rom. If your provider gets to know that they will void it "officialy".
You may contact the service to know if they can rewrite an EMEI, and ask them how much they charge for it.
The FIRST thing you should do before installing a custom rom is a backup of the EFS partition:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2161611
or, if you have installed freeGee, you might already have a backup in the FreeGee folder in img format
If not, then you will need to open thoses .img, edit them with your IMEI and reflash them
Not that easy.i didn't find any tool to decompile those images into workable stuff.like i said, maybe you will find more help on irc channel.asking will not hurt

2) Change the Imei with my Imei number in Backup Folder .
I have to find a tool for change the number in the image...
thanks at all for the help... we will win..
Lost the imei tinkering.. Have no clue how but it is now missing from the settings and will not connect to the network. This is on my tmo g3. Please help
Dial *#06#
Nothing
What have you done to the phone?
Most of the time there is a sticker under the battery.
Yeah but what do i use to get the imei back inside the phone instead of just the sticker
Will donate if somebody can help me figure this out..
Isn't this that efs backup stuff talked about in the PurpleDrake thread?

As Skizzy034 noted you'll need to have performed an EFS backup. You can either flash the zips you made or use ADB to restore the partition.
Or call t mobile and tell em your phone does not work right and get replacement. You still never said what happened? What did you do right before issue happened?
I believe I saw a efs recovery method in the lg g2 forum but it looked like a long process and it might not even work for our phone. If I was you I would try to find it quick because normally anything that can potentially spoof imei numbers gets deleted when a moderator notices it.

That's of no help unless somebody comes out with a method for restoring without a backup (I've seen it done with a couple devices). Until that happens, unfortunately there's not a lot you can do with the device.
Do a search for a member by the name Odia, I messed mine up before on another phone and He helped me restore withbout any backup. This was before I ever heard of efs

What about if your phone has the WRONG imei number after flashing a ROM? Does that matter? The phone still works.
I don't have any info on being able to help but this is a prime example of why you take the few extra steps and back up. Most of the time I'll admit, in fact I have never needed mine but on those rare occasions its literally a phone saver.

Same happened to me! Did you fixed it or send it back for repair?
Editing the IMEI in any way is illegal and against our rules. The only allowed way is to have a backup. Anything else is not allowed here.
Also do not Suggest people send the device in to be repaired under warranty. This is Fraud and also not allowed.

that is why every thread about rooting suggest to backup your efs partition.

Which method did you use to root?
Stumproot
If you had to pay for motherboard replacement, that means you wasnt able to turn the phone on? If its that, they couldnt prove your phone was rooted. If you were able to turn it on, you should simply flash stock and send it to repair center. So they wouldnt notice that phone was rooted. It is not for sure, that root your device made it to be imei NULL.

I have the similar problem as well, my phone couldn't switch on, and only stays at LG logo screen, and only can access fastboot mode.....
I didn't do the EFS back, so I'm planning to send it back to LG to change the motherboard.....
Or, is there any other way to fix it??
I really can't tell, sorry. About EFS, even if you could somehow establish communication between PC and G3 via adb you have to move those two files from SD in order to have them available after going back to stock.
My D850 has been rooted for 2 months my F400S was rooted until I dropped it and my F460S is also rooted. I've never had an issue with imei null error on any of my G3's. Did you do anything that could have caused this?
efs doesn't wipe by itself, if you have IMEI nul that means efs has been corrupted or deleted which is usually due to you doing a mod incorrectly. None of the current root methods will touch efs.

So as I though and I wrote before. Root is not failure for IMEI Null. So, he should just flash kdz to stock and turn it back. In that way he could say it happen by itself, thats it. No paying for new motherboard.
Hi, I've been trying to find a solution for the problem of null IMEI I'm having after wiping EFS partition on the Chinese TWRP, maybe it's not that and it is because I've erased modemst1, modemst2 and flashed modem+fsg.
I'm pretty sure it had to do with one of those procedures, when I wiped the EFS I've got some error saying it couldn't be done but something went missing.
I've got a more direct question now, my brother just bought a Moto Z Play yesterday, if I backup his EFS on my phone (he already asked if I want to do that) will both of us would be able to use our phone normally?

No way, like you already now, each phone has an individual IMEI. Your phone is unfortunately unusable.
What did you attempt to do? Flash another firmware package ?

Lenovo could generate it. But they probably instead replace the main board. You may ask them how much the repair is.
I think I'll just take it there and see if they can do anything about.

Hey you can use sigma box to restore imei which will cost you around 800 rs,same thing happened for me but still not fixed just using with wifi
If partition can be wiped, then is not read only. If is not read only, should be possible to write backup back. Otherwise, what's the point of the backup?!
Each phone should/must have different IMEI, depending of the network. In theory, should be possible to take partition from one phone and write to another. However, Moto maybe prevents that checking some hash, serial number... If it's possible to write partition from another phone, again question is can those two phones be on the same network in the same time. I also saw a way to change IMEI, I think even on this sub forum.
If someone solve this problem I definitive pay to that sir, he would be rich In the first day..
