How to allow simultaneous finger and S-Pen touch input? - Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Questions & Answers

I want to use both my finger and my S-Pen at the same time to touch the screen with for games and emulators. Main example being Drastic, a DS emulator, so I can use the on-screen D-Pad at the same time as using the emulated touchscreen with the S-Pen. This way I can still see what is happening on the bottom screen without my index finger in the way.
How do I do this? Is there a hidden setting that can be changed with ADB? Or is this something that I would need root for?

Omnia Optical Joystick Challenge!!

All:
Does anyone know a way to convert the optical joystick into a fully-functional d-pad. The current software allows a rudimentary d-pad where a swipe creates the equivalent of a tap in a certain direction. It would be so much nicer if you could hold the final position of your finger to create a "hold down" event in that direction. Lifting your finger would be the same as a "button release" event.
With this fixed, you could scroll, play games, etc without a hundred finger swipes.
Any thoughts?

i asked my self this question many times when i first bought my i780, why there is no software or driver available for the optical pad to function like D-pad which allows the direction to be pressed and hold, i think it is possible but no body done it yet
wish if i can do it, it will really makes the device easier to use

The capacitive buttons extend the capacitive screen on the Dinc2?

Hi,
So, I have been tinkering with AOKP ROM on my Dinc2. I noticed this behavior sometime back, and I have finally decided to make a post about it.
On the Holo lockscreen on AOKP (and possibly CM9), the capacitive buttons at the bottom seem to extend the touch screen real estate. For example, touch the lock in the circle. Then, pull that lock icon to the bottom of the screen. Now, pull the lock further down by moving your fingers over the capacitive buttons. Miraculously, the icon continues to follow your finger. Now, your finger is clearly off the screen and on the capacitive buttons. Still, the icon is following your finger. Move your finger left/right on the capacitive buttons, and the icon continues to track your finger moving on the capacitive buttons. The icon is only partially visible as its center is off screen (at the place where the capacitive buttons exist!)
This seems to be a great way to extend screen touch zone... A very interesting feature don't ya think? Am I realizing this very late? Have people noticed this odd behavior before?
Here is a video demonstrating what I am talking about:
I've noticed it before as well. It was pretty fun to play with, but it's not very applicable in day to day use unless you're moving your finger very slow.

One cool way to utilize this is to somehow enable swipe controls on that area. So home is swipe down and back swipe left etc

S Pen right click

It appears that S pen is functioning like a mouse in android - for example in dosbox hovering will move mouse around and tapping will click it. And as far as I saw (screenshots only, so excuse me if I'm wrong) CM will also recognize S pen as mouse pointer.
However, there is a small problem: there is no right click. And since I don't use gestures really: Is there a way to remap button on S-pen to function as right click?

I'm looking for the same thing and I've tried many apps with no results, but these apps might point you to the right direction:
CM S Pen Add-on Can detect the S Pen button actions.
Xposed Addition Can remap hardware buttons.
So the thing to get the S Pen button actions be recognized as buttons. Then it would be easy to remap it with Xposed Additions.
Good luck!

App: All in one Gestures (without Root)

A large tablet comes with the price of greater hand/arm travel distance when working with the screen. I am by no means complaining any sore elbows here. But it does take some getting used to, especially for those coming from smaller (7" - 8") tablets. Over and over again when my hand moves up and down between the screen and the (home and capacitive) buttons, I can't help but wish I had multi-touch gestures like on an iPad.
If my GNP were rooted, GMD Gestures would have solved my problem. But I am not ready to trip that stupid Knox counter yet. So here we are.
I came across this app called All in one Gesture. It doesn't have multi-touch, but at least some simple 'swiping from edges' functions.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.phoenixstudios.aiogestures
Let me share with you my experience on working with this app. First, after installation, you need to enable the app under Accessibility in Settings before you can activate/use the gestures. But soon, Android will warn you of disabling a whole bunch of functions as a result, including Multi window. See attachment.
The good news is, some of those functions can be re-enabled to work with All-in-one-Gesture without issues. I tested Multi window, Air view and Direct pen input and they all seemed to be working fine after re-enabling. (I don't use the others, but I suspect some other ones would work too). But you should exercise cautious when doing so. For example, Multi window requires swiping from right edge to activate; and so I should not use the swiping from right edge gesture. Currently, I only use swiping from left for the 'back' function, and swiping from bottom for the 'home' function.
The Back and Home functions are universal in all apps; e.g., they will work in Chrome browser, where I can swipe from left edge to go back to previous page, and swipe from bottom to exit app.
I also changed some settings in All in one Gestures. For example, I made the 'Edge Width' longer under 'Edge Preference', and also made the touch area transparent under 'Transparency and Color'. There are also settings for tweaking the swipe area and sensitivity. I haven't played with them to much, but they may become useful for certain games to avoid accidentally triggering the actions.

Use touch interface with a mouse

is there any way of using the mouse to simulate touch across windows 8.1?
i find the touch behavior to be way more fluid than the mouse behavior of windows and would like to be able to make widows think my clicks and drags are touch events.
(possibly even having right click as a single touch pinch to zoom).
all full screen apps and the start screen just screams "drag scroll me!" and it never works when i try ^^
when you connect a mouse to an android device you can touch with clicks and i'd like that to work in windows too.
besides i'm pretty sure some devs would love to use it for debugging^^
