(Q) Rooted , boot loader unlocked now what ?

I have had a good look around the forums but still feel like a small fish in a big pond
I would like my play to be lean without all the bloat do I need to flash a new rom / kernel for this ? would like it to run faster , I am into games had a stack of emulators before I rooted and unlocked what benefits can I expect now and what programs / mods should I be doing in general ?
I apologise I know this has probably all been asked before but this is the first time I have messed with a phone and every thread I look at confuses me more .
i found that the stock rom works for me the best in terms of gaming and even normal use. i have .58 rom + Samsung Galaxy SII theme on it and it works smooth for me for now i also using Rom Toolbox to uninstall bloatware and block ads in programs. whenever i installed some custom roms, they were great, have awsome functionality, but i always back to a stock one where i had no problems with compatibility in hardware or software...
Ok, thats what many are asking right now!
If you are a hardcore pro gamer and you only use your play solely for play games using the PS certified pads then don't bother coming here. Cause I can tell you you are gonna have a bad time trying to find a decent hack, Custom ROM and ICS firmware with a stable and optimised Game pad compatibility. True i can say some are better and some are worse. Many ROMs fully suppor emulators. However No Custom ROM has a proper working driver where all those HD games by gamloft can run on.
So now i said all the disadvantages then here are some pf the pros
Rooting, unlocking your phone opens many capabilities. You can flash ICS which is the latets android operating system on the market and not available throguh offical update on Xperia play. You can learn more about how the phone works and everyday you get the chance to try out cool features that the devs around here make or implement. ICS is fast and smooth. Not so nice with the gamepads. But fast! Performance on it is excelllent. Battery life sometime an issue though. Unlocking bootloader and rooting would mean you can flash complex kernals that can allow you to Over Clock your CPU safely to 1.8ghz which is almost double the speed you would get on stock firmware. Some say it's useless when you can't use that speed to play hardcore games but thats not true. The OC speed has given me personally faster video playback and most points and All the normall games on the pla market generally load much faster,
I hope this gave you what you were looking for.
Good luck and happy rooting
Cheers I am not concerned about the HD games the only marketplace one I play is GTA 3 I am more concerned about emulators , so can you point me in the direction of a good kernel and rom to accomplish this and give me a few pointers of how to change them , i have flash toll but I am kind of lost at this point .
Try Gin2Ics, emulators work, it's stable and unarguably the best Gingerbread rom there is, in my opinion

Well i am going to give it a go , wish me luck
Which files do i need from the repository the rom and what else ?
So I am rom and Kernel successful but now my wifi does not turn on
I've tried many of the ROMs and kernel combinations but so far gin2ics with stock seems the most enjoyable. You don't need an unlocked bootloader for this.

[Q] Low-Res Rom

Hi everybody,
So I have been using my HTC-One V for almost a year now and I've tried out several ROM's including stock / CM9 / CM10 and MIUI. 2 weeks ago I decided to give CM10 (set on performance) another try, after a few hours, with just basic gapps + apps (WhatsApp/Facebook/Swiftkey, some browsing, games) the OS started to get sluggerish again. Now I don't complain easily, I just want to have fluid experience with my phone without me having to manually close x-amount of apps each time I use my phone. But so far I have not been able to find any ROM that was able to give that to me.
My best experience so far is with CM9 and max's kernel.
My question is: are there any ROM's based on performance (low ram usage?) that are really minimalistic, and if so, could you give me some names/links?
Thanks in advance!
Try RC 3.0 less battery consumption. Smooth enough. I used this ROM for a month & still works like a charm with little oc to 1.4 with TK kernel.
For link check in androind development.

I have no problems with latest CM10 and latest Hellboy...
First of all, after install, "Freeze" unnecessary apps with Titanium Backup, specially DRM...
Then, try (it's working for me) that app: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1947559
Hope it helps... :fingers-crossed:

your issue really is not with a specific rom but with a specific game, what i can advise you is to try different set ups, different governors, try with andreno boosters, or maybe try with gaming mode with boost my xperia app, its really hard to advise a rom for you my friend since i think your main goal is to optimized a game which is NFS. but hopefully trying out my suggestions could help you
I'm using AuroraPlay and feeling satisfied with it. It's fast, lightweight and the performance is great. However, don't expect to run heavy games without lags. You can't force a 2-year old android phone to play modern heavy graphical games

Coachella G3 Setup

Hey Guys,
I am going to coachella (camping) this year and want to maximize my battery life to last as long as possible. I will still have an external battery pack for charging but still want to know if you guys have any tips or tricks to maximize battery life.
Right now I am thinking of flashing a custom rom with a minimal Gapps package. Seems like an ideal setup would be a clean rom without any apps besides phone, text, and hangouts for my group messaging needs. Any suggestions on the best rom, kernel, governors, etc that would work best? Any tips would be greatly appreciated! (last year I used no wallpaper for my amoled note 2)
Currently using blisspop on my d850 with the kernel it comes with.

Question Current issues with custom Roms

Hi everyone,
I've been looking into custom roms because the vanilla oxygen OS experience gets worse every day.
Used OOS since the OnePlus One and its really frustrating.
Thats why I would like to flash a new rom.
Are there still any major disadvantages going custom?
- Afaik the OOS Camera isnt working (but can be replaced with the right gcam?)
- Does 90-120hz work?
- Is the general overall performance worse?
Currently I am using my phone for social media apps, reading manhwa and playing emulators (like citra or vDS) but the occasional hickups really annoy the heck out of me.
