Question No touch function - Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 4G

My Mi 11 lite starts up but has no touch function so, having reset all data, I can't go any further than starting screen of setup procedure. I tried restarting the device in safe mode but nothing happened. Same problem. I opened it up and the motherboard clearly overheats, other than having a broken signal cable and nfc pad (bought it second hand). No signs of repair on the motherboard itself other than a capacitor/resistor loosely connected. I doubt it is only that capacitor that is making all of this. Is there any schematic I could potentially look up to?

Phone syas its charging when not plugged in

Phone recently keeps saying it's charging even though it's not plugged into anything. When the phone enters the charging state the LCD turns on.
This intermittent problem, when bad can keep the LCD screen on for hours.
Anyone else experiencing this?

I tried doing a factory reset, I'm running stock ROM and haven't even unlocked the boot loader.
Sounds like maybe it's a hardware problem. To make sure, flash a stock rom using the GNex Toolkit and see if it improves. If not, re-lock the bootloader and send it in for warrantee.
Any other ideas?
i had this happen to a focus s. no matter what i did, i couldn't get rid of it. i think it's a short in the usb slot on the device. i had to rma my focus s and replace it.
Sounds like a damaged or dirty USB connector. Had this happen on a couple of phones. Clean the phone's USB input connector with either compressed air and or a soft tooth brush dabbed (not soaked) with some electrical contact cleaner or 99% alcohol and let it dry. Power off and remove the battery before trying either method. Is the phone water damaged or has it been in subjected to a damp area (sweaty pocket) for any length of time?
Hopefully it's just dirty and not damaged.
My phone has started doing this recently too. I haven't tried electrical cleaner, but I have attempted to blow it out with compressed air and clean it out with a pin. I can't seem to fix the issue, but I have found a good workaround...
After charging the phone (or having a USB cable attached for syncing) and removing the cable, if the the phone still thinks that it's charging, I simply power it off and remove the battery for a second. Re-insert the battery and power the phone back on... that's it... my phone will no longer be stuck in charging mode. Simply power cycling the phone doesn't work, I have to physically remove the battery for a second.
I had this issue with mine too, also when plugged in it would show charging, buy battery starts said "not charging." Sent it to Samsung for warranty repair, they claimed it was overheating and had to replace a part. Free repair though!

[Q] Charging prob -> replace USB -> phone dead

Hi, I have a 7 months old galaxy nexus (international) which has just turned into a paper weight. I was wondering if anyone here any help.
1) Charging problem:
The problem started when, all of a sudden, the phone restarted while being connected to a computer. I smelled burning and the microUSB connector was burning hot when unplugged. The phone still worked at the time but I couldnt charge the battery. After going through 3 different cables with the same problem, I then discovered online that this has been a common issue with the phone and the only fix seemed to be to replace the microUSB port.
I noticed that the battery might have gone dead also since I was not able to charge it. I went to a T-mobile store and tried on a new battery but the phone wouldn't start!
2) Replace USB:
I bought a new microUSB port connected to a mini circuit board (identical to what's in the phone) and replaced it myself. The only thing I might have missed was that this particular (Samsung galaxy nexus instead of verizon) version has the volume rocker connector soldered onto the motherboard and I had to sort of yank it out. Well, I thought, so I'll be without volume adjustments, so what? And since the connector was still in place, I might still have electrical connection after replacing the motherboard.
Tested another time at the T-mobile store, still nothing.
3) Dead phone:
I followed the online instructions and attempted all kinds of sequences involving charging without battery, waiting for 10 seconds, pressing volume buttons while powering on ... you name it. Still nothing.
Going through Samsung wasnt helpful since I dont have a receipt (the phone is 7 months ago based on its serial number) since I bought it second-hand.
Any idea will be greatly appreciated!!!

additional info
The samsung GNex seems to have some unique quirkiness. When I plugged it in now, the screen, for ~10-15 seconds, will show the battery being charged, before going blank again. And this shows up only sporadically. Another quirk is that if I remove the battery and connect that directly to a PC, the computer will make a sound, indicating the connection, then quickly makes another sound indicating disconnection, before making the sound of connection again and it just cycles continuously until I unplug it. During the entire time, the phone never appeared on the computer screen. If I have the battery in, then the PC wouldn't even make a sound.
I also tried adding some slow-curing conductive epoxy at the solder joints that I had to detach when replacing the microUSB circuit board and that didn't do a thing.

Changing the microUSB port isn't hard at all. There's a good guide over on ifixit.com
Also, the screen turning on for 10-15 seconds is normal for when the phone is off and charging.

Thanks for your reply. I too got information from ifixit.com and replaced the microUSB port successfully (with the exception on the tiny circuit board connected to the volume toggle, which was soldered onto the motherboard and I had to detach it). But the problem is that the phone remained dead afterwards. The only other reason I can think of is that my repeated attempts to charge it while the microUSB port was burnt might have burned something else on the motherboard maybe?
Thanks again!

OMAP flash didn't work?
Just tried using the famous OMAP flash method. I first plugged in the phone, without battery, to a computer. As discussed before, the PC would beep intermittently, indicating a device is connected, disconnected, then connected .... Device manager was flipping constantly as well, as if I am plugging the device in and out. I had to act really fast and double click on the device (during that split second when it's showing that the device is connected) named OMAP 4460. Once the separate window is open, I then click "change driver" and point to the downloaded file.
While I managed to get that part completed, I was unable to proceed from that point. Nothing else seems to have changed. What doesnt make sense is me still is how that should even matter since the problem started with a hardware failure, and why a software change would make any difference.
Any input will be greatly appreciated!

[Q] Nexus 7 will not turn on after repair

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone with experience repairing a Nexus 7 2013 could help with my issue. The charging port had loosened to the point of being useless, so I bought a replacement board (straight from Asus). I replaced the board, turned it on and it worked 100%. I left it charging, and a few hours later turned it back on, and now the touchscreen wasn't working. I believe that one of the flex cables which plug into this board connects the touchscreen, so in theory I could get that working. But when I went to tackle it a few days later, the tablet won't turn on. It appears to he completely dead - there's no response from my laptop when I try to connect it via USB (ie no device is detected). I haven't touched anything beyond the bottom board (although I did reseat the display cable at one point thinking it could be a display issue). I have tried bending the charging port back into shape on the original board and using that - no change to my issue. I am at a loss, and I don't want to disassemble the rest of the tablet for no reason - any ideas?

It could be something as simple as a discharged battery. Let's take one step at a time. When you use the Qi to charge it, does anything show on the screen? Some people have reported the tab to be stuck at the Google logo after letting it discharge completely. Being totally dead is different. The tab uses current from the battery only, so if it's at 0%, you might need to wait for 1/2 hour or so before you can boot it up.

Dead Phone. How many have had this issue?

Dead phone -It would be good to know if this is a widespread issue with Oneplus 3. Symptoms are the phone does not show any signs of activity when it is powered-down and it is put on charge. No screen display or LED. The phone then does not respond when trying to power-up again. It appears dead.
I have had this happen three times. The first time Oneplus replaced the phone. The second time Oneplus support said to connect the phone to a PC USB port with the charger lead, and hold down the power button and volume control together. After 90 seconds or so, the phone did restart.
So when it happened a third time, I knew what to do to restart the phone. But Oneplus seem uninterested in what is causing this problem. I asked them, and their only suggestion is to reset the phone or send it back for repair. Since it has now happened on two Oneplus 3 phones, it is unlikely to be something only to do with my current phone.
If others have had this problem or a any issue with a seemingly dead phone please reply. Then perhaps then Oneplus will take it seriously.
@nottheusualtoday
This is the first post where this issue is reported, AFAIK. So if both your original phone and the replacement are having the identical issue, I think that the problem may be with your setup or the apps that you have.
You can factory reset the phone and run it without installing any other apps or changing any settings and see whether the issue recurs.
Could it be to do with charging & powering down?
I don't want to do a complete reset again. When I got the replacement phone I started afresh and still have had the problem twice. I have seen one other mention of this problem
on XDA. I have looked through all the apps I have installed and
most are very common and unlikely to be the cause. Many other Oneplus 3 users must be using the same apps.
I sometimes have connected the charger while
the phone is in the middle of powering down, and
wonder if this could cause the problem.

I have done this on other phones without any issues but not tried it on OP3.
Charger? Still the same that came with the device?
Trying to replicate
I will try and replicate my hunch about connecting powering
down phone to charger being the cause of the problem.

Damaged mainboard?

Hi,
a couple of days ago my ASUS ZenFone 2 (Z00AD, ZE551ML, 4 GB RAM, 8 GB ROM, 1.8 GHz) started behaving very erratically on its own. It's not been rooted nor has been the bootloader/recovery modified.
OS version was the latest: WW-4.21.40.352.
Before it all happened, I cracked my screen and replaced it.
The phone worked perfecty (aside from the screen not being original (occasional flicker)) for a week, after which I started to lose signal in the SIM1 slot. It took me 6 weeks to realize, it might've been the antenna cable. I disassembled the phone again and inserted the cable again. It then worked perfectly for a couple of days.
Then it looked like it was damaged by water, which of course was not the case.
It started with continuous vibration and black screen, and only a forced shutdown (by holding the power button for a couple of seconds) helped. Then, it started to restart on its own and lose signal. Then the speaker stopped working, until poking its area. And at last, the phone thouht I have View Flip Cover on and all I could do was to force shutdown.
Then the phone didn't wan't to turn on at all. It didn't even charge and was not being detected by the computer.
I then read, one has to pull the battery cable twice and it did help.
The phone worked fine for a day, until it started going into black screen/constant vibration state, in which only a forced shutdown helped.
I followed a guide to redo hard brick and it's helped for a while, but now the phone constantly goes into black screen/constant vibration state at random, the same hapenning sometimes when charging while turned off or when choosing any option in the stock bootloader. It also doesn't boot completely (the ASUS logo shows up much later) and the WLAN doesn't work.
I followed the unbrick guide correctly. I read up, the mainboard might be corrupt.
What do you suggest? I of course, lost my guarantee the moment I cracked my screen.
Many thanks in advance.
Check the connection of the flex cable on the daughter board. Pretty sure there is loose connection.
