Hello,
I have a Pixel 5a with lineage-18.1-20220315-microG-barbet (the latest version as of today).
When my phone is inactive (screen is off) for at least a couple of minutes, and a text is sent to me, my phone will not "wake up" and receive the message immediately. The delay can be anywhere from 10-60 minutes. This only happens with text messages and not with other notifications (that go through wifi or firebase).
However, if the phone screen is on, I get the text message immediately. Similarly, when I check my phone (turn on the screen), I will immediately receive all of the delayed texts that I should have received 10-60 minutes ago.
In addition, texts that I send work as expected - they go out and get received by others immediately.
I have tried rebooting the phone, deleting network settings, clearing the storage and cache on the Messaging app, updating LineageOS, calling the carrier provider and installing a new sim card.
Any ideas on what to try next?
Thank you.
Using the preinstalled "Messaging" app was the problem. Using a different SMS app solved the problem.

Help. I am completely frustrated.
My tmobile touch pro 2 all of a sudden can not receive any text messages. When I switch out my sim card to another phone it gets texts immediately so there is nothing wrong there.
I've already tried resetting the phone many times and even left the battery out before doing so. When I send a text message to my own phone number from the phone I get a text back from the system administrator stating that the message was not delivered and that I should check the address and try again.
I've used other phones and texting services to try to send myself texts but nothing comes through. Is there anything else I can do?
Glad to see I was not the only one having this problem. I had to call customer service and they sent me a new phone.

Did you recently install any new apps? I had that problem at one time, and realized that it was the app that i downloaded that caused my text messages not to work. the app that casued the error for me was True Caller. Once i uninstalled the app and soft reseted my phone, the text messages worked perfectly again.
I hope this helps.
Hi all,
I have an HTC Dual-Sim (China version) running Lollipop 5.02 4.25.1401.6, rooted and TWRP; and have been using it quite flawlessly since I brought it.
Since the 28th, I have not been able to receive any text messages on both sims, though sender's phone for the text message will show as delivered and read. I can send text messages no problem though.
So I did a few tests, a full reset or changing to a different rom will resolve the issue, but after I restore data the issue will come back.
I looked at the permission manager and everytime a message is sent (from my one sim to the next), three apps will show up: messages, phone and google play services
and the phone app shows it has the permission to read, write and delete messages, cant set it as denied either.
3rd party sms apps like handcent doesnt receive anything either, the same with Hangouts.
Checked for blocked contacts but the lists are empty...it feels as if the phone gets the message but a specific app is receiving and deleting all the received messages.
Now the question is, any way of getting my phone working without having to build up my data from scratch?
It the same whether its a 4.4.4 rom, stock, 5.02. Once data is restored, I cant receive sqwat.
Not being lazy or anything but I rather not install everything from scratch, I forgot some of my credentials for some apps and some are registered on old phone numbers which I dont have anymore.
Any feedback is much appreciated.
Ok so for whoever that may run into this problem also, the issue was greenify 2.6 beta 3...
It somehow disabled the text broadcast and I dont even receive the text in the message app.
Uninstalling it doesnt remedy the issue, had to install 2.6 final, install xposed for lollipop and enable all the options I did before the issue occurred and now I can receive text messages again.
Ever since I have had this LG G3, it seems for no reason at all, at times, it will sit there and spin saying "sending" when I send a text. Happens sometimes when sending email as well using LG's built-in email. Tried rebooting, turning on or off wifi, have a good LTE connection at the time, but no dice. Just sits and spins saying sending. And usually eventually fails sending. Other times it sends immediately. I never know if I hit send if the SMS is going to be sent or not. It's quite frustrating. My wife and I are on the same provider (Rogers) and when this happens with my phone, I grab her Note 4, try sending out a text and boom, instantly sent.
I'm running stock 5.0.1. Two mods, CTT and Trickster. I have checked APN's and they are identical to my wife's Note 4.
Does anyone have any idea what else I could try to make the SMS and email sending more reliable?
Another strange thing. The stock messaging app doesn't show any messages. I have deleted them all. I installed Textra to see if sending messages was any better and there are about 10 voice mail message texts sitting in there. These are the notification I get when I get a voice mail. I had called Rogers before and asked if I could turn these redundant text messages off and they said I didn't have that option set on my account?? Not sure where they are coming from then. I do get the voice mail icon notification as well when I get a voice mail.
I deleted all of the messages, closed Textra and reopened, only to find all the texts had returned. WTF? I deleted them again, same thing. Tried cleaning cache and data for both the stock messaging app as well as Textra, same problem. Perhaps these messages are interfering some how with sending/receiving texts? I changed my phone number on this phone recently as I was getting a bunch of non-wanted calls and thus all these voice mails. Could these be left over from the previous number? Not sure why I can't delete them permanently. Man, what a pain.
Hi there.
I've installed LineageOS 18.1 (official repo) on my Moto G5. The phone seems to be working fine.
However, it looks like the phone tries to send some voice messages without my permission. It happens every minute from the first start of the phone (there were no contacts in the contact book). I am not informed, where/to whom it tries to send the messages. The only reason I know it tries, it is because my network operator (O2 UK) doesn't support such a messages and they inform me, that sending was unsuccessful (attached screen).
Do you know, what is going on?

This is an O2 issue
Make sure your phone is on the latest retail oero firmware
If it is then go to phone app - settings - find voice mail. Make sure voice mailbox number is correct. Turn off visual voicemail if there's an option to do so.
As a last resort you can always block the number that's sending you the message
Works fine, thank you.
For those, who will be facing the same issue (LineageOS + O2 UK).
Go to Phone (handset) -> Settings (top right corner) -> Voicemail
and turn it off
Hi
For about a week now I am facing network problems for sending or receiving sms or phone calls since the last update of LOS 18.1 (june 18th).
I'm on Miatoll since about 2 months, tried to reset network, change preferences, etc... Sometimes *#06# gives me no IMEI so I searched this way, but sometimes I still have an IMEI but the network doesn't work anymore.
It works back when I reboot the phone for about 1 or 2 hours, sometimes less, then it stops working. Either I don't receive sms or I receive them one or two days later. I tried to change the default sms app but it didn't change, also tried to force the SMSC with my operators number without more results... I tried to change the SIM card from sim1 to sim2 with the same result. On another phone (Blackview on android) it works fine. Something weird is that mobile datas work fine most of the time even when I can't send/receive sms or phone calls, but sometimes are also bugged.
Also when the network doesn't work anymore, accessing networks settings just freeze and quit the settings app.
EDIT : When I try to call myself from another phone, it rings normally and goes to voicemail. Nothing happens on my LOS phone. Also, when network is bugged, when I try to call someone it doesn't ring, stays on the call screen. When I hang up its stuck on "hang up", the microphone stays activated and I can't stop it even by forcing the phone app to close. It finally stop after 30 seconds to 1 minute.
I searched through XDA and other forums, none of the solutions I found worked.
I guess I'll wait for the next update or, if it doesn't change anything I'll probably flash a previous rom.
Does someone knows what to do with it ?
Many thanks in advance
I hope it's understandable, I'm not native english. I'll edit the post or give more infos if needed.
