Question Samsung One UI - Samsung Galaxy S22

One of the features I like about the latest version of Android 12 is the "Material You". The S22 currently uses One UI v4.1 and I found the following.
None of the Samsung widgets supports colour pallet based colours. Either they have white or black or dark mode support. Also, only Samsung icons support the colour pallet.
For clock, I was able to download Google's Clock and that is supporting the clour pallet. But I couldn't find the Google weather widget and even if I tried getting the weather widget via Google beta it adds only an icon and nothing else. Also I thought the status bar at the top will also change colours and that is also not happening.
I'm wondering if any alternatives are available?
For icons, I can see "Icon Pack Studio" is available but One UI doesn't support it and I have to choose some other launcher which I'm still contemplating.
For widgets, the Kustom widget as of now doesn't support Material You, so as of now only Google Widgets are supported.
For the status bar, I don't have a solution!. I had built a custom status bar using KWGT and used Nova Launcher, but Nova also doesn't support Material You and have to configure the colours manually.
Any solutions anyone?

Use One UI as other launcher are inferior, either in functionality or in battery efficiency or both.
One UI is rock solid stable and a 3rd party launcher is one of the best, sure fired ways to boot loop a stock Samsung
Pick a free Galaxy store theme (the standard high contrast work well), pick a free icon pack, then pick whatever wallpaper you wish. Install the Goodlock family of apps. Modify the status bar as you see fit and the pull down notifications.
Don't forget One handed Operation plus.
Use 3rd party apps like Digi Clock and Energy ring.

Wow thank you.
I didn't realise Goodlock allows this kind of customization.
I'm coming back to Samsung after almost 4 years!

You're welcome.
I know that feeling; went from a S4+ running on Kitkat to the N10+. Samsung changed a lot.

Hey, why you don't update to latest software? Android 12 OneUI 4.1 is pretty good, I am using it on my Galaxy A51

I think you're best bet is to start here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=992402
That should get you the wallpaper and the analog clock.
The digital clock you can get with fancy widget pro (it's one of the skins, if you need help setting it up, let me know).
The icons seem like they would be very easy to build in photoshop if no one has built them already. If you are using ADW EX or Launcher Pro, you can create custom docks and icons and use them.
I also think you can get something similar to that battery percentage with battstatt pro.
It would take some work, but I think making your homescreen look very close to that is doable. If you need help with the icons, I might be able to do it for a donation, but it wouldn't be for a bit. I may be able to do it over the weekend, but I'm going to be out of town for business and not sure what my schedule is going to be like.
Edit: I saw the icons were available in that thread, that's good, hardest part if they didn't exist. I started reading that thread, seems like you should be able to do it with CM7, that theme, the icons he posted, Built in ADW or EX/LP, some of the widgets I mentioned and the Honeycomb boot animation.
He's right, and then search themes and apps [or google] for honeycomb icons, then you can use launcher pro, ect to change the icons to make them honeycomb icons.

I don't see the icons in that thread
From the post above the one you linked:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12151203&postcount=24
Hmmm, those are diff icons than the ones you posted, but I think they are the actual HC icons. The ones in the screenshot would be much easier to make.
Well, The only thing I got sorta right was the dock... But I'd like to find that small HC Digital Clock
Fancy widget pro. You have to get the pay version to be able to change skins. Download Honeycomb skin.
Fancy widgets gives you a bunch of diff widget options. Just choose clock widget and under appearance settings, hide the background and hide date.

[Q/Opinion] Launcher 7

Im not sure if this should be in Q&A or Themes &Apps..
Ive been trying to use launcher 7, I really like it actually.
The problem is it seems very buggy and laggy on my phone. I don't use that many tiles and about four widgets. Usually after a few minutes the widgets move all over the screen and out of the tiles.
I haven't seen any complaints in the comments in the market, only praises on how well and stable it is. I've used it both on a TW and cm7 ROM, locked home in memory trying to get it to function correctly.
Has anybody else have the same experience or is it just me and my phone? Am I doing something wrong or is this launcher still a WIP?
Have you ever considered using an app called Desktop Visualizer to create your own Windows 7 launcher? I mean it's not exactly the same but it does allow you to use your own images:

}
Thanks Im definitely going to check that out.
One word of caution though. When I attempted doing this several years ago, the only launcher that would allow you to place the icons so that they touch each other without leaving a gap was LauncherPro. Every other launcher I tried to use left a gap & didn't make it look so seamless.
You should also be able to find pre-made icon packs & tuts here on XDA.
Here's one to get you started:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=783946
Update: Man what a pain. Using the included icon pack, I'm having trouble getting them to align correctly. Not only that in order to resize the home screen icons using Launcher Pro, you need Launcher Pro Plus which is a paid app. So I tried using ADW Launcher...still can't get them to align correctly.
I guess the icon packs were created for a specific sized screen (hence the problem with alignment). I'll continue to give it a go to see if I can get it to work.
Okay got it finally.
First you need to set your launcher to 5 rows & 4 columns.
Then when creating your icons (.png) from whatever image you find they need to be at the following resolutions/pixels:
1x1 = 110x122px
1x2 = 115x264px
2x1 = 230x124px
3x1 = 355x124px
4x1 = 475x124px
You may also be able to find icons packs/sets on the net but they have to be made specifically for screen resolutions of 800x480 in order to align correctly on our screens.
Hope that helps

[APP] KitKat Launcher+

I'd like to start by saying this isn't my app. I'm just sharing its existence with users here, since I know many of us want to use GEL badly, but it lacks some core features we all have grown to require before considering using a launcher as our daily driver.

Description
This is the new KitKat Launcher compiled straight from AOSP. KitKat Launcher+ focuses on clean and stable features that keep true to the stock KitKat experience. Great customization without having to deal with all the bloat commonly found in other launchers. Guaranteed to be fast and smooth.
Please Note: KitKat Launcher+ is available for devices with Android 4.1.2. and later. However, since AOSP is directed to Android 4.4 you will have the best experience on Android 4.4 and on Google devices (Nexus 4/5). Officially AOSP Launcher3 does not support landscape mode or tablets. Your milage will vary.
Feel free to e-mail me about bugs and crashes but only when you were able to reproduce the bug and/or have an error message. If the launcher crashes from the start it might not be compatible with your device!

Gonna try this one, I just update to 4.4.2 and my GEL is gone, but there are some things I didn't like about it anyways example, the icon size looks awful in nexus 4, tends to be slow sometimes, hope this offer the best of both words, gel transparency and faster access to Google now and better looking icons for my nexus 4 + some Google to turn off some features.
Reporting back after testing.
I can't add forum shortcuts (tapatalk pro)? Others with same problem? Thought it maybe was because I hadn't purchased the pro version, but no luck!

Why does it need to have permission to make phone calls?

[Theme][Icon pack][WIP] Updated the 3/02 - Moonshine ported to EMUI's theme engine

Hi everyone.
THIS PROJECT IS ON HIATUS FOR AN UNDETERMINED TIME SINCE I HAVE TO DEAL WITH SOME STUFF ON BIGGER PROJECTS AND WITH MY OWN LIFE
Updated the 3rd of February - More icons ported!
I currently am working on a massive project. I'm trying to port the well-known, beautiful, colourful, Moonshine icon pack by Valliant Pixels to the EMUI theme engine.
What's done so far?
For now I've only ported the dynamic calendar icons and apps from A to D. Wallpapers aren't done yet. The preview images are ready but are squeezed due to their wide resolution. (They're taken from the Play Store.)
How does it look like so far?
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",

"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
As you can see on the second screenshot, two of the themed icons (These are the only apps I have that are modified by Valliant pixels for the current version.) are modified.
The other apps will have the default EMUI icons.
(I know, my dark status bar battery icon isn't right but I'm too lazy to edit its icons.)
Where can I get it?
Click here. (13.2 MB, Google Drive link.)
How to install:
1) Copy or cut the .hwt file you've downloaded.
2) Put it either in your SD card or in your phone's internal storage in the "HWThemes". If it does not exists, create it.
3) Go into your theme manager (The Theme app) and go in the "Mine" tab.
4) If you don't have any particular theme applied (If you use the default theme), tap on "Moonshine icon pack" (The preview image isn't ready.) and tap on "Apply".
If you only want to change the icons, tap on "Customize", "Icons", and tap on the little "More >" button. Then go and select "Moonshine icon pack" and apply it.
What will be done?
More icons added to the theme, every wallpapers available in it, and updates as Valliant Pixels update their app.
Anyone would be interested into that?
Note: It might not work on devices running EMUI 2 and below. I only tested on EMUI 4.0 through my Huawei P8. (I'm posting this here because there are no P8 forums on XDA. )
Looks good !
Thanks a lot
I use Nova with moonshine so now i have also the same icon on system

Well thank you too for using it and for your feedback!
**Very** happy to find this thread!
Hope you do not quit!
I have attempted to do a similar 'port'... ran into the problem of needing to duplicate icons with different names to cover all the areas that EMUI shows icons.
Keep it up!

For now I'm on a hiatus on it. I got some stuff to deal with in other projects and in my life.
Glad to see it made you happy!
