[Guide] Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 MIUI12/13 ROOT Step-by-step - Pass SafetyNet, Widevine L1
Everything you do, you do at your own risk. I'm not responsible for all damages, this can also lead to loss of warranty. Hi, Probably many of you know how to do a Magisk install without TWRP, but this guide is for people who don't know and...

I would like to ask if anyone had the opportunity to successfully unlock the Bootloader of his pad 5 with the Xiamitool V2 application under Mac OS X or Linux.
And of course root his device with Magisk.
Thank you in advance for your answers.

Hello,
I tried Xiaomitool V2 in Mac OS X without success (impossible to compile GRADLE). On the other hand, under Linux I was able to go to the end of the procedure but with the message error 20036. Wait 168 hours before starting again.
What could be the cause ?
Thank you
I tried under Linux, the device is too new, you need latest unlock tool for windows, you can use a virtual machine like i did, i was successfully unlocked the pad 5 (nabu) on windows in a virtualbox under ubuntu.
In regards to waiting time imposed by Xiaomi i had to wait first time 168 hours, then when tried again they increased the time to another 190 hours....
You need to complete the setup on the device and daily use the device over the internet if you want to successfully unlock the device from first try.....

Hello,
I have used vmware fusion on Mac and vnware on Linux before. They recognize the tablet but not debugging with xiaomi programs.
I will try with virtualbox. Otherwise, I'll borrow a Windows PC. It's a pity that xiaomi does not provide official software for Mac or linux
Thank you
Have a nice day.
I´m a Mac user since years. I unlocked my bootloader with xiaomi mi unlock tool in Windows 10 using VMWare Fusion. No problems at all. You have to take care that the tablet is assigned to the VM.
Hello,
With vmware fusion pad 5 is recognized (Windows 7). The problem is that it indicates as a driver problem for pad 5 not recognized. I tried different drivers. I will try with Windows 10.
Thank you
Good day.

Dear friend I hace the same cellphone, can you give how do doy root your phone, what exactly files did you use?
Regards
I tried unsuccessfully to install TWRP on a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro.
These are the steps I took:
Unlock the bootloader with MiUnlock.
Downloaded Fastboot.
Copied this CFW TWRP inside the Fastboot folder.
Downloaded these two files and copied inside the Fastboot folder.
fastboot flash preloader preloader_begonia.bin
fastboot flash lk lk.img
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.3.1-0-begonia_UNOFFICIAL.img
fastboot reboot
And the result is that it no longer turns on. It also fails neither to enter the Fastboot screen, nor in that of recovery.
Windows no longer sees the device, so I can't interact in any way even with the folders inside the phone memory. Finally it is not even seen by Xiaomi Flash Tool (wanting to try to reinstall the official ROM).
The phone, immediately after unlocking it with the Xiaomi tool, had MIUI 12. I don't know which Android mounted (my fault), but I proceeded the same, without doing a downgrade, since in a discussion here on the forum it seemed that it could work same, even without downgrading to Android 9.
Is there any way to fix?
Maybe using Linux, you might be able to interact with the phone memory even if it is turned off / bricked?
Solution
Without hoping in the least, I solved it by following this video step-by-step.
I thank the author of this video a million times.
For anyone who was reading and needed it, there is no need to open the phone, remove the battery, connect various wires... You can do everything from software with a couple of clicks, even if the phone does not seem to want to connect absolutely to the PC.
Follow the linked video, it's very simple and you will save a lot of money!
Only if you have flashed it with a CFW

Good for CFW, but if you are on a official MIUI and you've hardbricked it then you have to through an authorised Xiaomi account, in other words, it is a "payable flash" that you have to perform.
I had the same problem
Months ago I tried to install a stock ROM prior to the latest version installed, I got a brick exactly like the one you have, I didn't know who to go with until days ago, in a group on Telegram.
There is a group where a boy from Spain helped me with his authorized account for € 30, if you want to contact him I will leave you the link of the group.

I am not quite clear what you mean exactly, but I, before proceeding with trying to flash a custom ROM, I had connected my original Xiaomi account to the device in question and also had requested the unlocking of the bootloader through the appropriate Xiaomi software (and I finally waited the time indicated by them, before proceeding). So on my Note 8 Pro there was actually the original / official MIUI updated to the latest version and I didn't need to proceed with a payment of any kind following that tutorial.

Dose anyone know of any way I can unlock and root my phone with only a chromebook. I cannot download the mi unlock app on it. Please if anyone knows anything help me out
As far as I know, without replacing ChromeOS with Windows and running the Mi Unlock app from there, I don't think that there is any way to run a Windows program within ChromeOS (yet). Unless you can find a way to unlock the phone other than with Mi Unlock, I'm afraid you're stuck.
Keep in mind that I am not entirely experienced with Xiaomi and Redmi devices, so I might be wrong. My answer is just with the knowledge that I have about these devices needing proprietary software in order to unlock them.

If you're looking to run Windows on your Chromebook, try to see if your device is compatible with the Full ROM firmware here: https://mrchromebox.tech/#devices If so, follow the instructions provided on the site for using the Firmware Utility Script.

Hi guys,
I need your help because i have nothing found what worked in my case.
I am searching for the right drivers for fastboot to unlock my bootloader.
Windows 10 Update doesn´t find any drivers for the Poco F3 as i´m in the fastboot mode.
Data coping is no problem an it found my poco for the first time i connected to PC but not in fastboot mode.
Also in the device manager on Windows 10 it only shows as Android device with a exclamation mark.
I installed also the Google USB drivers but it still doesn´t work for me.
Can someone help please?

I don't know that's why I use Fedora for all my ADB and fastboot stuff (obviously I had to use Windows for bootloader unlocking)

It's a Linux distro (distribution). If you're new to Linux, Ubuntu is the recommended one
Bootloader/ fastboot driver of all xiaomi phone is already include in mi flash tool, so when you've installed/ running first time of mi flash tool they will automatically installing xiaomi bootloader driver, or you can manually install it by browsing from devices manager then pick driver from mi flash tool folder that you have.
well it simply wouldnt detect drivers even when pointed at them but if you force the driver install against reccomendations.. It worked.
