Question New to Poco F3 and flashing LineageOS microg - Xiaomi Poco F3 / Xiaomi Mi 11X / Redmi K40

I just bought a Poco F3 to replace my Pixel 2XL (lineageOS 18.1 microg)
Anyhow, while I wait for the 7days counter, I wanted to see if tI should wait until Android12 MIUI 13 is officially released. This way I can get any firmware updates, etc... before upgrading to a custom rom.
Is waitting worth it to flash and upgrade everything before the change? Normally I wouldn't bother, but when I was testing the phone, I wasn't able to get data to work until I forced it to 3G only.... I was reading this is because of some weird voLTE issue and it needs to be turned off...
Is it likely that a firmware update bundled into the Android12 MIUI13 update will fix this?
Thanks!
Link to Issue and Resolution
ok, for anyone having the same issue, was able to replicate and verify the suggested fix.
The issue seems to happen when there is a mismatch between VoLTE support of the line and the phone.
If you don't have VoLTE enabled on your line but have it enabled on the phone settings, it seems some VoLTE specific queries happens during tower handover which then fails resulting in a kernel panic (F3 bug) which causes the modem to just reboot (losing internet for 10~15 seconds) or for the whole phone to reboot (depending on the firmware on the phone).
The fix is, to either call your carrier and make sure VoLTE is enabled, or just disable VoLTE on your phone (for lineage it's under "Settings" -> "Network & Internet" -> "Mobile Network"). I have confirmed that disabling VoLTE on lineage works and I no longer get the location-specific reboots I got when I enabled it a few weeks ago.

Weird Issue with MI MAX - Constant Network disconnects. Please help!

Hello
I will try to be simpler as i can
I have a MI MAX Prime (4GB/128)
Everything was ok and working right until MIUI 8.2.3.0 OTA arrived.
After update my phone started to experience Network disconnects and reconnects, "NO SIM Card, NO NETWORK, VIRGIN 4G", This happens at random periods but more often when i wake up phone from idle.
Nobody on Xiaomi Forums helped me, not even developers, Phone carrier told me to change sim card but problem persisted.
3 sympthoms.
1. After upgrading to 8.2.3.0 i can't search for networks manually. (http://attach.en.miui.com/forum/201705/09/033557amdkj2j33bkmyybm.jpg)
2. I use a MVNO which says i must use Roaming even locally, but this NEVER worked even if activated (http://attach.en.miui.com/forum/201705/09/233925hg9b3p55hm3pcpk9.png.thumb.jpg)
3. I noticed this weird pattern while charging (http://i.imgur.com/SPtvuqY.png)
I have done a factory reset and a rom flash via EDL, but problem remains.
I really don't know what to do now
Thanks in advance for your assistance
Well I am on the 8.2.5 Mi Max (not prime) & you can choose network manually by:
Settings - Sim card and mobile networks - tap on the preferred sim card - mobile networks & switch off the chose automatically and select preferred one.
You have to describe beter what is happening with your network connection. Does it gets blocked or disconnects completely (aka ril restarts) also does switch on/of air-plane mode resolves it?

Yeah, thing is i can't choose a network manually everytime it gives this
http://i.imgur.com/7yw4a6w.jpg
In half a second Network disconnects and reconnects,
first "NO SIM Card"
Then "NO NETWORK"
Then "VIRGIN 4G",
It disconnects and reconnects every time.
Specially when unlocking the phone
Notice there is not airplane mode activated

It works hire.
Try rolling back to older versions, 8.1.9.0 is enlisted on official page.

Obviously somehow RIL is getting stuck & re-initializing (restarting). Can you direct me to a MiUI forum url where you failed complain/bug report.

Definitely a software one, simply something didn't fit in (either a RIL or related cellular radio libs) good when you updated so you need to revert to previous one with other RIL and libs. Then you can try again with 8.2.3.0...
Flashed to 8.2.1.0 with miflash via EDL mode.
Problem remains... Seriously WtH?

Assuming that your bootloader is unlocked I suggest you flash exactly the version with which the phone came, I flash ever with any issue via adb-fastboot placing decompress rom files in the same folder in c: with option "flash all".

You are doing something wrong. I pointed you out to the 8.1.9.0. For Mi Max Prime Global stable. I don't know where you found 8.2.1.0. at all it's not enlisted on the site not even for a China Stable (that goes up to 8.2.2.0.)...

But those you mention are only update packages, iirc MIUI said that fastboot flashable roms has to be in tgz format.

Please wipe all data in Recovery mode if you want to update to a discontinuous ROM version, or downgrade to an older ROM version using MIUI full ROM pack.
I don't have access to recovery mode since i don't have TWRP and my phone is bootloader locked
After downgrading to 8.2.1.0 and rebooting twice the problem has been fixed, it's been 48 hours and there is no more issue
it's really sad that NOBODY at Xiaomi forums/Help desk/ customer support gave a single S#it about it.
If you are going to purchase a Xiaomi phone, think it twice, there is 0 support. Besides XDA.

You should check your IMEI *#06#
If IMEI is missing:
Open the file imei.qcn using hex editor and looking for value:
Code:
08 8A 96 72 01 42 99 81 05 - Sim 1
08 8A 96 72 01 42 99 81 86 - Sim 2

WIFI Not enabling

Hi Guys,
Noticed today that my WIFI won't turn on. You can try, it attempts it - but ultimately, it goes to the off motion again.
I've tried going to the following and backing up the WPA Supplicant file, but still the same. data/misc/wifi/
I'm using the ROM MIUI 9 from Xiaomi.eu v. 7.10.26 - Rooted.
It's worth pointing out WIFI has been running fine on this since I installed it (5-6 weeks ago).
EDIT: Just checked, and the WIFI Mac is 02:00:00:00.00.00 Will look into this, not sure how its happened as I didn't change a thing!
Thanks!
EDIT:
So I restored from To October 15th, wifi works. Go figure... What settings do I need to take from that to the current version? Or just easier to update to a different ROM?
Just to add to this, I done the OTA and that fixed the issue. No idea what caused it...
I just get the same bug with WIFI MAC address 02:00:00:00.00.00

Updating to 7.12.21 did not fix the bug. I had to factory reset the phone to have wifi working.
Good job it's fixed! Interestingly, did your phone battery go in low power saving mode prior to it occurring? I seem to remember that being so. Can't say for certain.
try :

global stable 8.5.1.0
or
eu rom 8.5.7.0
I have a wifi issue.
my wifi works excellent on miui 8.
non of the miui 9 roms either stable or beta and official or pro/eu/epic connects internet via wifi.
wifi opens but connected networks stay saved only and after a few minutes my network disapperas.

Mix 2 wifi and IMEI problem
Hello, hello I need your help in a matter. I have 2 devices in my hand. Imei had to be discarded. After installing twrp and magisk, I deleted modemst1 modemst2 fsg partitions from pc while in twrp to remove IMEI from qpst. Whatever happened after that, wifi does not turn on when partitions are deleted match address was 000000. I did not take backup. I open the device with rooted diag but says qpst no phone connected. He sees the port but does not recognize the device. I can't write in Qcn. Fastboot rom, I installed custom rom did not recover. What should we do?

Phone getting soft reboot automatically !

I use my phone ONEPLUS3 as Hotspot / USB Tethering and when I keep it on for a long time like an hour or two it just gets itself a soft reboot and it hangs for that period till it softreboot happens this thing does not happen with other phones which have lying around like Samsung.
What I am supposed to do any help ?.
The Phone is running on Oxygen OS 9.0.6 Android 9 stock ROM
As there won't be any updates to OxygenOS, your only possible solution is to switch to LineageOS or derivated ROM and hope tethering over USB works better.

Question No Network Service after latest software update

Hello! I updated my phone to MIUI Global 13.0.7 Stable (SKHINXM) and suddenly my phone has no service. The sim card is fine and working on other phones like it was before the update. Really unable to fix this issue. If it helps, in the testing window the 'Mobile Radio Power' is toggled off and however many times I try to switch it on, it automatically switches off. Please help! Thanks

Okay thank you! Will try it in a few days time once I am able to give it the time needed.
It is happening to me too, I'm on stock 13.0.4 SKHMIXM, bootloader locked, it happened in 13.0.3 too. Sometimes, I see I have no services, no data, no GPS. But WiFi works great, so if I'm in house I don't always see it, but it means I cannot receive call!!!
I tried to enable/disable sim/data/location/airplane/etc nothing works.
Only way to re-make it works is to reboot the phone, and after 2 or 3 weeks it will happen again, this is the price to pay to have cheap chinese phone...
Try booting into Android with Safe Mode. (and disable Airplane Mode if enabled)
Power + Volume Up > Safe Mode
Or try this:
Settings > Updater > Tap on the "13" several times, this will enable additional Updater-features. Download the latest package and install it.
My guess is that your update may have been corrupt.
Other than that.. Factory Reset or connecting phone to PC and flashing ROM using Fastboot & Mi Flash or Terminal.
I've 13.0.7 and everything's flawless.
So the Xiaomi service center told me that it is possibly a motherboard issue. How can a software update suddenly awaken a hardware issue?
So I had not unlocked my bootloader via my Mi account and it needs mobile data for the same and hence I am unable to flash it since my network is still unavailable even after a factory reset. Any other way I can flash my phone with an older version of MIUI or I will have to submit my phone to the service center?

Could you elaborate the whole process? I do not know how to do this. Thanks
Same issue i am facing after MIUI updation for 13.0.3.0 SJCINXM ... suddenly all networks are vanished ... if i do manual search for networks then i get a message 'Couldn't search for mobile networks' . Voice call is only possible if wifi is enabled.. This is really a horrible experience and i am unable to find out a way to get rid of this situation.. I am using Redmi 9 Prime handset .. Before this update everything was surperb and flawless.
It is still happening with the latest Android 13 and MIUI14, it's frustrating... sometimes when the phone switch wifi/lte/wifi/lte/etc when you go outside, the modem crashes, it internally bootloop and the phone becomes warm and can lose 25% battery in like 15 minutes. Only way is to reboot the phone.
I had a similar problem. Were you able to solve it?

Question Not able to call and not receiving calls

My POCO F3 8GB/256GB suddenly not letting me call anyone (Says mobile network not available) or pick up any calls but mobile network and texting is working completely fine. I've rebooted the phone multiple times, disabled volte, reinstalled google carrier services and still nothing so I had no choice but to factory reset the phone but that didn't work too. I'll try doing the MIUI Flash method. I hope it's not a hardware problem because everything was working fine and I only realised few days ago it started to not work
Check with other sim. If problem remains check different network modes 2G/3G/LTE.

So I've tried using 2 different sim cards (One of them being the same carrier as the sim that's not letting me make or receive calls on the F3) and so far those sims are working fine with the phone . Also tried putting the not "working" sim on other devices and it seems to work fine so I'm not really sure what's the problem here. As soon as I put the sim card back on the F3 it works for a moment then completely stops letting me call and receive calls.
Try changing network modes.

did you try downgrading to 13.0.8.0 fw? could be a defective modem driver
