Hey, guys!
I'm using a Galaxy S20 Ultra G988B running an UNOFFICIAL OneUI 4 (Android S) but I can ONLY receive the NSA network.
But recently the NSA network in my city have been OUT OF SERVICE so I can ONLY use LTE even though it is a 5G device.
Why can't I use SA network? How can I use SA network? As far as I know, the modem of Exynos 990, Exynos Modem 5123, supports double NSA and SA networks.
Please help me! Thank you!

Hi All,
i want to ask if anyone know if sm-976n (Korean version) note 10+ 5g will work on any 5g network around world. i live in UAE and i have option to get SM-976N . we do have 5g network here but not sure if phone wil support or not.
thanks
i did my own researh awhile ago..
TL;DR:
N976N will work with current 5G in UAE, but around the world support is kinda fine in GCC and most of Europe, otherwise no go.
Long Answer:
N976N supports 5GNR band n78 only.
5G Bands around the world so far:
....
UAE:
n78 (also all GCC uses this 5G band)
n258 planned (NOT SUPPORTED BY N976N)
Europe:
n78 (plus some random n20,n38's)
mmWave bands details are still too early
China:
N976N will NOT work with current Chinese 5G networks
n38
n78 being built
n79
USA:
N976N will NOT work with ALL US 5G networks.
n41: Sprint
n71: Upcoming for T-Mobile
n257: T-Mobile
n260: T-Mobile, AT&T
n261: Verizon
Japan:
N976N will NOT work with ALL JP 5G networks.
n77
n79
n257
Also no phone currently supports 5G SA (Stand Alone) standard.
....
kinda shows how early 5G is at the moment...

Does all the S20 series devices support 5G or anyone device will have the 5G support??
The Galaxy S20 Ultra is reported to be a 5G device. No mention yet if the lower priced models will offer 5G.

I don't think that every S20 series device will support 5G but any one or two models may have the 5G support.
Patent filings indicate that there will be 4G and 5G models of all three devices. 4G models will be sold only in countries with no immediate 5G infrastructure plans, however.

you just need to pay more for the 5G model
I hope there is a software switch that will allow us to turn 5G off for those of us who do not live in a 5G coverage area. Not all of us live in major metropolitan areas.

Samsung galaxy S20 ultra and S20+ has a separate version of 5G right?
I'm trying to use an S20 (G981U1) outside of US, but can't seem to do CA for LTE band 3 1800MHz (B3+B3). I'm currently stuck with LTE on that band, it seems that this version isn't capable of CA_1C for band 3. Does anyone knows if this can be activated somehow? I've seen that for the S8+ was a method to add new combos , but I'm not sure this will work for S20 and I really don't want to mess with the EFS at this moment.
Any heads up?

You might be able to flash that countries firmware to the phone.
Samsung S20 5G (US) doesn't support 4G CA combos used in EU: https://cacombos.com/device?model=SM-G981U .
And because Qualcomm version used in US, you can't flash EU-version firmware because in EU networks use Exynos.

Don't know - free to test but I recommend global variant for Indian market not HK.
Samsung technical expert on chat said yes,
the modem the phone has seems to indicate it does (unless samsung disable something on the S20 5G specifically to limit it to Sub6 bands only),
https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/exynos/products/modemrf/exynos-modem-5123/
this webite seems to say no (no mmWave bands listed),
https://www.devicespecifications.com/en/model/f3e652f5
to add to my confusion the verison S20 5G originally didn't support mmWave until they released the S20 5G UW
I'm in the UK on EE. I just would like to know if the phone can or can't receive mmWave if it was transmitted to it?

I think you're out of luck if you didn't purchase the 5G UW. There is no modem technology currently available that can leverage 5G signals in the sub-6 GHz spectrum and 5G signals in the mmWave spectrum at the same time. You can only get one or the other.

Not so, Verizon released 5G mmWave for the S20, Plus and Ultra devices on June 4th. They're labeled as S20 5G UW Models, other carriers to follow. A couple of drawbacks for the S20 Base Model, you're limited to 8GB of RAM and no MicroSD.

S20 and s20+ LTE models don't have the 5G bands in them so its impossible to get 5G on those, but however, All the s20 ultras, 5G or LTE have the 5G bands, but its disabled via software on the LTE one, is it possible to enable 5G somehow on them?
Yes they may have the bands, but I'm pretty sure that they are missing the physical antennas required for 5g to work

The Snapdragon x50 modem is separate from the SD 865 SOC so even though it might appear on the software the phisical component is not present.

Does the same go for the exynos model?
Cause thats the one i have, i think i heard somewhere that the LTE s20 ultra has the bands and the phyisical components required but its disabled via software in LTE countries.

The Exynos modem 5123 is also a separate module so the same should apply.

I purchased s20 ultra in India. I thought this a 5g phone but it shows only LTE. Paying so much money for a 4g phone is a big blow for anyone but I think that our xda develpers can enable the 5g in s20 ultra. Please do something to make it work on 5g network.
