Question REDMAGIC 6 Sim 1 14 digits? - Nubia Red Magic 6

Been having issues with my pre paid service which uses AT&T, every few days on data or service, call them and all works again. Is because of the new Volte required, but the redmagic 6 has volte. Today I looked at my imei on phone and sim 1 is only 14 digits, dim 2 is 15. Will see if that helps, otherwise will switch to t mobile, I checked my imei in t mobile checker and it came up as phone is fully compatible.

Got official TMo unlock codes within 24 hours

Phoned 611 yesterday evening and by 2:30am this morning had three unlock codes waiting in my inbox from TMobile.
We have our three SGS4s phones on a business account and had paid for the phones outright.
Only had to way 14 days of active account before they released the unlock codes.
Pretty fast!
Time for me to call in, thanks for the post!
Did the posted unlock method not work for you? I went through the steps, popped in my friend's AT&T sim and was good to go. Made a couple of calls, surfed the web and everything was perfect, APNs loaded automatically when I put in their sim.
I'm on a $20/mo device plan
as long as you have an account and good standing. as well as having the phones for certain amount of time, they are very willing to do it. i have had 2 other phones unlocked on tmobile. first time i had gone to greece. the second time i just told them i was going out of the country. same thing they emailed me the next day
They wanted me to wait 40 days to give me the unlock code(s).
I told them I paid outright for the phones so they came back and said I had to wait 14 days.
The waiting period (if you've paid outright) is 30 days for California and 14 days for the rest (unless your state says otherwise).
They made an error when they set up our business account as we are in California, and said I didn't have 30 says to change my mind but 14. It worked out better because I didn't have to wait for 30 days
They couldn't change the account set up but said any further additions to the account will reflect California.
If you're paying off your phone every month on the new no-contract plan, I think you have to wait 90 days. The CS rep said I had to wait the initial time period because that is the time frame you have to return the phone and if they unlock it, they can't relock it.
I figured that if I was going to get the official unlock code(s) in a few days it'd be better than trying the method shown on the forums here. Just got back from travels so will try and unlock tonight or tomorrow
Still...impressed that it took less than 24 hours. The CS reply sad if they couldn't issue it, they'd have to get it from Samsung directly. One benefit of being on a business account (we only have three phones on home business) is that we get 24 hour CS rep help and I haven't waited more than a minute or two to speak to someone. Well worth the effort of setting everything up through the business.
I hope my info will be of help to others.
Hmmn...weird, two of the three unlock codes worked. Mine failed but the other two were unlocked in under 10 seconds.
TMo CS are escalating the issues to supervisors so will be interesting to see what comes of it and why my code didn't work.
By the way, are there any limits to how many times you can input an incorrect unlock code? I know PUK codes lock you out after so many tries.

i tried that and it didnt work, but i ended up calling and they gave me the code
I have had numerous calls to TMo CS (all very friendly, courteous and helpful) and still no joy in getting the unlock code to work, even though they submitted for an additional unlock code.
The second request came back with the same unlock code from TMo.
I kept getting an "Network unlock unsuccessful" message. The IMEI was triple checked (under battery, on the box and by dialing *#06#), I was told to switch WiFi off - nothing worked!
TMo then gave me Samsung's Equipment phone number (1-888-987-4357) and I spoke to someone there and they told me emphatically that they can not give out any unlock codes...only the carrier can do that.
They send the codes to the carriers when they send out the phones.
It was back to TMo and finally the CS rep says I should take the phone back to the store and see if I can swap it out for a replacement.
I was ready to do that and figured I might as well try the unlock method posted at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2283068
Mine showed OFF in step six so I chose Restore Backup from step 4 and restarted the phone. This time, the phone never asked for an unlock code, when I put in a UK 3 SIM card as well as an ATT SIM card. Both of these SIM cards are inactive but I thankfully never got the SIM card error that previously showed up. I will see if I can find someone with an active ATT SIM card to double-check all is working.
So...if anyone is having trouble with an official unlock code, try the XDA tweak

Is it better to unroot and take it back and swap it out, or stick with the XDA unlock method?
Some folks are reporting that it reverts back/isn't permanent.
Did TMo online swap out the phone or did a corporate store take it back? I figure it's not worth the time and effort to unroot, take it back to get an official unlock code again if the XDA method does indeed stay permanent. I'm trying the path of least resistance as going to a store to resolve an issue like this is never a ½ hour thing.
The manager at the store I bought the phones said he'd have to look at the phone and make sure I hadn't put in too many incorrect unlock codes — I don't know how he'd figure that out as it never told me I had X amount of tries left to try the SIM unlock.
If I've paid full price from the phone, I really do want it (to stay) unlocked.
Thanks for any feedback.

Activating SIM (Sprint) with Pixel

I have been using my Pixel 128GB on Project Fi since October. While I'm a huge fan of the Fi service, the data cost doesn't compare with my Sprint unlimited data.
I spent three hours online and on the phone this afternoon trying to activate a BYOD SIM to move this Pixel from Fi to Sprint. The SIM UPC is 760492034500.
Online registration is a NoGo (I entered the IMEI from the phone and it's not in the Sprint ecosystem).
Chat registration killed 45 minutes to eventually say that I needed to go to a corporate store to have it 'reprogrammed'.
Telephone registration got a bewildered support agent that couldn't make it work after nearly an hour; she kept claiming that my phone was 'locked' and needed to be 'reprogrammed' to be used on Sprint. Of course, she (and the online chat agent) advised me to drive across town to a corporate store to let them 'reprogram' my Pixel so it would work on Sprint.
1) What's the easiest and fastest way to move this Pixel from Fi to Sprint?
2) Why does Sprint need the IMEI on their system? Isn't this what the SIM card is for?
I saw that @mattvalenz was offering advice for Sprint... Perhaps some help here?
Thanks in advance!
-Justin
They need the imei to activate the CDMA side of the phone. You can't just put the sim in the Device and have it work. The Sim is for the data side of the Device.
Also the sim upc should be
019962040146
When you're putting in the IMEI, leave off the last digit.
For example, if the box says the IMEI is 123456789;
Enter 12345678 into Sprint's website.

Can confirm, you need to Drop that 15th digit when you do it online.
I did the swap with both phones off, new sim out just in case.
Entered in the IMEI ID two times, entered in the SIM two times, then Powered on the phone.
You can either have setup the phone (google account stuff) or start from the very first power up.
The phone will go through the provisioning and sprint stuff.
I had my phone already setup cause I needed to find the right SIM card.
I grabbed one at my local best buy. The card will have the model# ending in W416C.
I went through 2 cards before i found that one that works. You can also go to a local corporate store to get SIM that will work the pixel.
Good luck and enjoy!

Has anyone activated a OnePlus 7T on Metro by T-Mobile? Need help

My friend ordered a OnePlus 7T and called Metro to activate it on Saturday the 16th of Nov. His attempt to activate the phone was unsuccessful. Today, Sunday the 17th of Nov, he went to a Metro store to activate the phone and they too were unable to assist him. He was told there is some other department that he cannot communicate with that has to take care of some behind the scenes stuff in order for the phone to work. My friend also called OnePlus to confirm that the phone is unlocked. They did confirm the phone is unlocked. Apparently my friend heard via some forum that something related to the ASN needs to changed on the SIM card. We can't testify to that yet though. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I need to know because I am also looking to buy the OnePlus 7T. More importantly, has anyone successfully activated the OnePlus 7T on Metro??
Any assistance would be much appreciated.
I activated my TMobile OnePlus 7t with metro. I called metros customer service and tried to get to talk to a representative instead of the automated system. When i got to a representative I told them "I need to switch my sim to my new phone" and from there they need access to your account and the number you want to put the new phone. They'll ask for the IMEI of the phone and then it should work fine. That's how I did it and it worked for me. Metros Sims are attached to whatever phones IMEI it's in, so you have to call and have them switch it every time, it's like a $15 charge not sure if they mentioned that.
I had an existing Metro account I was using with my 3T. I...transfered?...converted?...to the new 7T this morning with zero issues. I just called the support number on the website and a very nice woman in the Philippines walked me thru it.

Does VZW allow N975F international variants on their network? [Update: YES!* (YMMV)]

I'm looking to get a Note 10+ phone that can be bootloader unlocked & rooted, but I'm tied to Verizon.
Anyone using either the N976F or N975F on VZW? Any issues or tricks in order to get them to accept something other than the "V" variant that is locked down and may never have root?
Trying to figure out which of these 3 Note 10+ phone variants to go with:
N975F
N976F
N9750/DS
TIA.
UPDATE: Not officially, but it seems possible. Keep reading below for my experience...
I'm on the n9750 on Verizon and it seems to be working well. I just got it so I haven't got to fully test quite yet.
Just for reference, I wanted to post this for others since I wasn't able to find true compatibility details other than VZW's ironfisted "certified" devices (ie the locked SM-N975U):
I recently purchased a Samsung Note 10+ (SM-N975F/DS) international variant online, and was able to get successfully attached to my VZW account. I have a grandfathered unlimited data plan, and was replacing an existing phone on my account.
Here's how it went down:
Initially when I tried to activate and attach the N10+ to my account via VZW website, it told me the phone couldn't be registered on their network.
Took my phone to a local VZW store.
Told the rep I bought a new phone and needed it attached to my account.
He validated my account details (he never asked for the IMEI of my new phone) & grabbed a new sim card, did his thing on the VZW tablet terminal and then popped the sim into my new phone.
At this point, the LTE data worked almost immediately, however the voice calling didn't work. Test calls just failed and quickly exited the phone app saying call failed/ended.
He said wait a couple minutes, sometimes it takes a bit, so we did. I think we also rebooted too. He was checking various things on my phone and the account.
He noticed that the VZW system said my phone couldn't be used on their network, but said there was something he could try...
He took the sim out of my phone and popped it into his already activated VZW phone. After a maybe 30 seconds, he made a test voice call, and it worked (my sim, his phone)
Then we swapped my newly activated sim back into my new phone and after about 30 seconds, I had both LTE data (as before) and now also had voice calling. A quick test call from my phone confirmed and I was good to go!
Obviously, YMMV, but it can be done, you just might need to find a VZW rep that is helpful and willing to go the extra mile to get the international version (SM-N975F/DS) activated onto the Verizon network.

No service after unlocking bootloader and new firmware

So I just want to say Ive been on straight talk for probably 12-15 yrs. I thought I knew all the tricks for getting phones to work on certain networks.
I prefer verizon in my location, it has the best coverage but also verizon sims have always been tricky to use on phones I didnt buy from straight talk. In the past Ive been told by straight talk that my phone wasnt compatible with verizon network but then I would just buy a junk $40 verizon/cdma phone, activate the sim in the cheap phone, and then transfer it over to my owned, unlocked, nicer phone and that would be enough to get calls and text. then set a couple APN settings and you have data and mms.
So.... Ive had a verizon sim in my LG G7ulm for 3 or 4 years now...or since it came out in 2018.
I have an unlocked version I bought outright. I cant remember if straight talk let me register it directly on verizon sim or if I had to do the sim swap trick mentioned above but anyway....3 years at least of zero problems.
My phone been stuck on android 8 and running slow so decided to wipe it and flash android 10 firmware. After doing so I can boot the phone and for 20-30 sec it shows its connected to 4g lte but then drops and i have no service at all. Ive tried all network operators/modes, Ive set APN...reboot, Ive tried 6 or 7 various different firmware revisions and this is the same result....no service.
I even went back to stock oreo 8.0.0 firmware but the problem still persists.
I contacted straight talk via chat which always is a laugh because they cant trouble shoot a rock that wont roll downhill and just tells you the device is not compatible. My daughter has this same phone and it worked fine for years as well but she took her sim out to test a different phone and lost it and when she ordered a new one it wouldnt work and they told her the phone was incompatible even though me and her both had these phones working fine for years and know they work.
So is straigt talk just blacklisting my phone? Did reflashing a new firmware cause the tower to re-verify the device and blacklist it or something? I can still pop this sim in my old phone and it connects perfectly fine and has service.
I just dont get it. My daughter when she ordered a new verizon ST sim and activated it her phone did the same thing and they said it wasnt compatible with verizon which is bullsh## because if you activate the sim on a different device then swap it over it works great.
Why do they care what device it is solong as your paying for service?
I dont know whether I should try a new ST verizon sim, ST t-mobil sim, or ST att sim now.... Att always works on these unlocked phones but service is crap in this area with at&t.
Anyone have similar experience or knowledge about this issue?
