ACE II: How can i enlarge/symlink sdcard0 partition. - Galaxy Ace II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have got Galaxy Ace II (i8160) and I need help. I have got game called Minecraft and saves of the game are saved on sdcard0. Therefore I have no memory for "download" folder or for screenshots. I don't know how to edit CWM_ReParted file. Xposed with XinternalSD causes bootloop. APP2SD is not working. Swap storage in Chrono kernel options does nothing too. How can I enlarge sdcard0 or redirect folders to sdcard1? I will add that I use lineageos 15.1 with chrono_kernel_r5.9.1.zip and CWM_ReParted_SY900_CA130_DA2750_SD0_20.zip

[GS3] Swap External and Internal SD on CM10.0 for More Storage

First off, this is based off of this thread by mattiadj. I recommend you read over that thread before continuing on here. I couldn't post a reply there since I'm not a dev.
That thread is for the international Galaxy SIII I9300, I9305. This is for the US version (SPH-L710). Basically it just remounts the internal storage as the external SD, and vice versa. I used the original script posted in mattiadj's thread and tweaked the storage locations to work with our device. I used a 32GB SD card for this, and when all was said and done, I had 29GB of internal storage and 12GB of external storage, as shown in the attached screenshot.
You do need root. The standard disclaimer applies: I'm not responsible if you bork or brick your phone. Make a backup first.
The steps are:
Install the free Script Manager - SManager from the play store.
Download the attached script (11extsd2internalsd--CM10--L710.txt). You might have to right click and save as.
Rename the file to remove the .txt file extension. I couldn't upload it as .sh or with no extension.
Place the script in /data. You'll need some file manager with root access, such as Root Browser Lite.
Set the script permissions to 0777.
Open SManager, select browse as root, and then OK.
Browse to the script located in /data and select it. Open as "Script/Executable"
Tap on the boxes for Su and Boot, and then Save and Exit
Reboot your phone!
If this doesn't work for you for some reason, you may need to tweak the script for your device. I had to change /dev/block/vold/179:49 to /dev/block/vold/179:97 and replace all the /mnt/extSdCard with /mnt/external_sd. You may also need to change a vfat to an exfat, depending on how your MicroSD card is formatted.
Good luck!
it works in the nightly?
Thanks, I've been looking for this! Working good.

if our phone reads external sd cards just fine why would I want to use this mod?
If you bought the 16gb s3. You know you have only about 12gb space to store all your apps and games. I play a lot of square Enix and Gameloft games. Those game used up a lot of your 12gb space. with this mod. You can swap your 64gb external Sdcard for internal one. It makes the phone think you have 64gb. I tested on PAC rom only.

I tested, and and it works!

im guessing a class10 SD card would make this mod optimum.
I don't want to sound like a noob, but is there a mod for TW? I've searched everywhere and can't seem to find any fixes aside from DirectoryBind, which isn't working for me.

This script is for CM 10.0 (4.1.2). I'll probably update it when CM 10.1 (4.2) goes stable.
Feel free to tweak it to your needs though. In a terminal on your device, type "mount" and it will list the current mount points. One will be something like /dev/block/vold/179:97 , though you might have to change those numbers at the end. You might also have to change some of the other mount points in the script, but I don't have a phone to test on. I'm not messing with mine until I update. It took forever to get it just how I like it!
so this doesnt work on 4.2.1?

I have to move the large files from my internal memory to my external SD card. What's the easiest way to this? I'm running AOKP 4.2.1, I have ES File Explorer and GridSize Free. Thanks.
I used Root Browser to move from internal to external. Because I'm moving such big large to external. I did have to wait about 1 hour+ before it transfer all of it. I recommend do the xfer then go watch t.v or something it will take longer time

I followed the steps again. Added the script you attached to data in script manager and clicked su, boot, run, script set to 0777 etc. Still no luck at least when I go to storage. The internal still reads 12 gb and external as 32gb. Not sure why it won't swap out. Maybe it just won't work for CM 10.1?

[Q] Moving system files..

I have rooted my phone (samsung s5660) recently and installed jellybean, partitioned sd card and moved lots of apps on it but I can't move system files. I use Link2sd to do that but a button "creat link" is not clickable for system files. So, I wonder if I can somehow do that. if there is alredy created guide, I'm sorry 'cause I couldn't find it and hope you help me)

(Rooted) Can only move a few game apps to sd, apps that wont dont show in int.memory

Hi !
This is my first entry into smartp/phone tablet world.
So far im enjoying it very much, what i diddnt know is that having an external sd card and moving data to it would be such a hassle in certain ways.
I rooted the gpad, tried gl to sd and folder mount but both cant seem to move most of my games (mayby only 18 from my 50ish games)
When i dig in the system memory, most of the games cant be found in the data or obb folders.
They are installed of course, can be played show up in settings/apps and with other programs like titanium backup.
Why dont they show up ?
why are they not in the same folder as the other games ?
How can i get to move those games as well ?
I have been looking on the internet so hard to find awnsers, im actually a bit bummed out by all of this and its taking a way from the fun factor of having this otherwise great device.
If theres no way around this im leaning for a ipad air/pro or whatever is out in a year with 128 gb with a wireless hd with 1 tb.
But there must be something im missing right ?!
Please help me, i would be truly gratefull.
Greetings
Will this help in any way ?

I would double check foldermount. I personally use this and there has not been a single game that I could not move to my external SD card. You need to ensure you are looking at the correct folders for the game. One item that I also use is Link2SD, however not in the manner you would expect. Link2SD primarly moves the app and not the data files. Additionally it requires separate partition. For me I found it a little of a pain to have to create a separate partition as well as most of the apps/games were small, thus really wanted the data files moved. Thus no longer use Link2SD to worry about the apps. However, I do still use it just to identify the path of the files associated with the specific game or app. Those are then the files I target to move with Foldermount. Again, to-date I have not found an app or game that I could not move to my external card. I have over 30 games running directly off the external SD card. I would take a deeper look at Foldermount. Post up screenshots or paths of games that you may be having a problem with.

Do you have the LG V500 or the LG Google Play Edition of the GPad?
You say most of your games dont have a data and obbb folder...which means their data in only loated in the form of apk and library inside the /data/data folder...
Hence...if u make a partition on ur external sd card...you might be able to link the apps and save up on space.

List up a few games that you can't seem to move to see if we by chance have them and can compare.

First of all thank you so much for taking interest and replying !
I have the normal gpad v500.
Well this is the thing, i did a factory reset this morning thinking i want to start with a clean slate to see if it would help regarding moving the apps.
So i did the factory reset, redownloaded all my payed and free game apps. i think all in all its around 50 of the best games i could find.
They all can be played, they all show up in the settings/app menu (all is well) AND the folder mount apps analyzer (i mention this because you know this program) BUT ! most of the games have no size value = zero bytes behind it.
when i click on them in the app analyzer in foldermount the menu says '' ''game name'' ''data 0b'' ''obb 0b'' ''folder is empty already bound or does not exist.
Also, when i go into my android system memory (android/ sd card0 or emulated) i cannot find most of my games,
i on purpose redownloaded all the games i 1 go to see it they all go to the same map, but apparently they dont !
its like they are being put in a different folder ? i wish the settings/app program could show me where the data is installed because the games are all fully functional.
It just boggles my mind.
Game list :
movable : magic rampage, shark evolution, dungeon hunter 4, dead trigger, deadzoneunocorn 2, cytus, eyelord waking mars, god of blades, unit9 decro, combo crew, can knockdown, flashout.
non movable and not showing in my folders but so in app analyzer of folder mount but with 0bytes :
bit dungeon, clear vision3,kickoutpolitician,ghostsniper,tribloos,nuttyfluffies,littlegalaxy,berzerk ball, quadropus, towwelflight, asterix, kingts free, stickman downhill, 10000000, plants vs zombies2, banana kong, dungeon raid, overlive, badland, freezecollosatron, jetpackjoyride, fist of awesome, simply rockets, nimble quest, bloodbrothers, motor world car factory, earn to die, punch quest, rayman jubngle run, the sandbox, angry birs, star command, tiny deathstar ..... man the list goes on and on !

Thank you for posting and helping me on my way !
I downloaded links 2 sd on reccomendation of the other very helpfull forum friend, this is very helpfull because now i can see the location of the files!
They show like you said they are located in the data/data folder as apk files.
Okay so what now. make partitions - shall i do this with links 2 sd ? and how do i go from there ?
and if the games need updates can they still do it from the partitioned sd card ?
will they still need to be mounted ? can i do this with folder mount ?
i will stop asking questions regarding things far away, what should be my next step ?
Thank you all so much !
Sorry bout my strange english its not my first language

Ok, first thing is I think you need to check to see if you are still rooted. I mention this as I had also done a factory reset a while back and lost root. Didn't believe it but sure enough I did. Download "Root Checker" from the play store to confirm. You may need to reroot the G Pad again.
This will probably fix FolderMount as it requires root and probably explains why it can't report out correct. Also I thank you. I have been using FolderMount for some time now and never knew of that App Analyzer function. As mentioned, I used Link2SD to determine the path of the files and then created the pairs manually. Thus you just taught me something :good: Nice to see this feature in the app.
Also not sure you are looking at the right location manually either. Use ES File Explorer or Root Explorer to browse the system folders. Then check this path:
/sdcard/Android/obb
you should see some game folders here with data in it. Again, you may not be rooted or using a file browser that allows you to look at the root directory structure. Give this a whirl and report back.

Hi !
I did root checker : and yeah im still rooted !
i was looking in the right folder though - in my gpad there are 3 sd card options . 1 is the external this is where i have some comics on and the games that did move.
But on the gpad internal memory it has sdcard0 and emulated ( this one has all the same stuff as the sdcard0 has)
sdcard0/android/obb has no items in it , the data folder does. but not the games im missing. only the games that could be moved where in this folder.
all the games that could not be moves are in apk form .
i found this folder now with es file explorer with root file viewing option enabled.
So apparently i must convert these apk files to my sd card, how do i do this ?

Ok. Surprised that all your games don't have obb data but that is indeed possible. In any case, the only way that I am familiar with moving apk files is with an app like Link2SD. However for that to work you need to partition a section of your external SD card for it. Check the FAQs on the app as they will guide you on how to do this. For me, my main concerns / games have been large data files in obb directory. Thus that is what I have concentrated on.

DirectoryBind not working on Samsung Galaxy S4 mini (device rooted)

Hi there. Well, the title says it all. I have my deviced rooted, i've followed the steps from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/themes-apps/tool-directorybind-data-to-externalsd-t1410262 and here http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/general/guide-how-to-directory-bind-galaxy-s3-t1889550 (yes i know it's a different model but the directories are pretty much the same), and even though i have it rooted, and i'm able to create bindings, they don't seem to work. For games like "Injustice: Gods among us" and Asphalt 8" that are installed on the "/sdcard/AndroidObb" folder, i've binded them to "/mnt/extSdCard/Android/obb" folder, moved the files to the new folder and still when i start the game it insists to download the game, which tells me that the binding isn't working...
Any ideia? I'm lost at this point
No one?
Well i had to try other ways, and got away with FolderMount and Link2SD. Foldermount is used to do a similar work of DirectoryBind and Link2SD to move apps and their cache files to the external sd card.
From what i've read there were more people with the exact same symptoms i had with DirectoryBind and Obb folder files, the game would insist to redownload the Obb files even with DirectoryBind properly set.
Still, thanks anyway.

[MOD] Samsung Galaxy W TURBO DATA

Hi guys, i have an HTC Sensation and delta-roh has released this amazing TURBO DATA MOD to use SD-EXT as new Data partition, solving the problem of the poor internal memory.
My girlfriend have the Galaxy W, so i know that the poor internal memory is a problem that afflicts this phone too.
In the first post there's this:
"This is ONLY for the HTC Sensation/XE; it can work also for flashable images of other devices, but then you have to open the batch mni.bat file in the directory "bins" and to change the strings for userdata_org1/2, userdata_new1/2 - however, you should only do this if you know exactly what you are doing - and look out the string pairs org1/new1 and org2/new2 have to have the same length! NO SUPPORT!"
So here's my question: Can this mod be used for the W?
Thanks to those who will try their hand at this.
uppppppppppp
Up
you know you can swap sd-ext to use as internal sd right?
We've been using that a loooong time ago. It's called "edit vold.stab swap sd", (it's not an app or mod file) search that up.
