Question Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G - Limited WiFi 6 capabilities - Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G

So anyone observed a limited wifi 6 download data tested by SpeedTest apk in a near proximity of a wifi 6 router (5GHz band) ? I've made a short comparison between 3 phones and Samsung was the slowest . Much slower !!!
"Device Specifications"and "GsmArena" shows same features for all those 3 phones I tested . What is the motive ?
Regarding this I read some others opinions and it seems it's a general state of facts for A52s .

This phone is limited WIFI6 on > 600Mbps...
This phone knows 160Mhz but it only sees 80Mhz regardless of the situation. It shows you 160 but it works like 80
WIFI 5 max speed 350Mbps....
WIFI6 max speed 500Mbps.
I have Digi Romania with 1Gbps link and ONT Huawei WIFI6 and i use Huawei AX3 PRo .. but same speed ONT/Router...

da , inteleg , am aceleasi echipamente si sunt tot la DIGI dar de ce limitarea asta , nu-i vad sensul ....
poate ca au mai taiat din costuri cu un modem mai ieftin idem cu virtual proximity sensor
Yep , definitely radio modem is cheap , Phy Rate is very low . This is not a software issue rather than hardware so I don't expect any improvements in the future updates

I also notice problem with WI-FI and Mobile antenna.
Every single Wi-Fi router and Wi-Fi network I've pared shows me 65 mbps.
Almost 99% of the places where Xiaomi Mi 11 have 5G, A52s connect only to 4G+.
There is also huge gap of upload speed when both phones are on 4G Plus. The Xiaomi upload speed is over 50mbps and A52s is 10 to 15.
I tried everything from reset to operator settings without any success.

Yes , due to specific of the thread I use for daily connecting people an OnePlus Nord 2 . There is a huge difference between those two regarding connectivity . OnePlus is also a mid-range phone but compare with Samsung A52s is at least one class over . Snapdragon 778G+ 5G has implemented FastConnect 6700 a connectivity chip which it's said " The Qualcomm® FastConnect™ 6700 system is an advanced 14nm 2x2 Mobile Connectivity system that is designed to accelerate premium Wi-Fi connectivity for mainstream smartphone and computing devices. By extending the power of Wi-Fi 6 into the 6 GHz band (Wi-Fi 6E), the FastConnect 6700 supports Wi-Fi speeds approaching 3 Gbps, ultra-low latency and multi-user feature innovation delivered to new and clean 6GHz spectrum." Also " Wi-Fi :
Peak Speed: Up to 2.9 Gbps , Standards: 802.11ax, Wi-Fi 6E, Wi-Fi 6, 802.11ac Wave 2, 802.11a/b/g, 802.11n , Wi-Fi Spectral Bands: 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, 6 GHz , Peak QAM: 4K QAM , Wi-Fi Features: 160MHz channel support, MU-MIMO, MU-MIMO (Uplink and Downlink)" So maybe lack of WiFi connectivity it's just a software optimization issue .

Yup, same carrier, different sim card. But sim is tested, it's not the problem.

I think its because Xiaomi has CA for Uplink but A52s hasn't, for example Mi 11 Lite 5G NE with same Snapdragon X53 has CA UL but A52s hasn't.

A52s is very capable device and it's shame that is so software limited.

You're all missing the crucial point. There's nothing wrong with SOC nor software. Galaxy A range only has one antenna so it can't use 2x2 MIMO like Galaxy S range or your laptops.
That simple

Hmm ??? "Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G has a Qualcomm X53 modem onboard , supports dual-mode 5G with 2x2 MIMO on mmWAVE and 4x4 MIMO on sub-6GHz "
Same modem as Motorola Edge 20 , Realme GT Master 5G and Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G

Yes, the modem supports it but Samsung only used one antenna as cost-cutting measure

i found WCNSS_qcom_cfg that wifi bonding and a few other features were disabled in it, with root access we can modify that file and limitation should be ommited.
related parameters : https://github.com/Magisk-Modules-Repo/wifi-bonding
File directory in Android 11 : /system/vendor/etc/wifi/wlan/WCNSS_qcom_cfg

Exactly, it's SISO, which is such a shame. (source:Samsung website)
And compared to my late Pixel 3a (2x2 MIMO), it's extremely obvious. Even time it takes to search for wifi and time to connect to network seems to me like 2x-5x (in extreme cases) slower...

Note2 and TP-Link TL-WDR4300

hi guys!
i have a dual band wireless router TP Link TL-WDR4300 and according to the specifications the speeds should be up to 300Mps on 2.4Ghz band and up to 450Mps on 5Ghz band.
note2 is also dual band but i can get maximum 72Mps on 2.4Ghz band and maximum 150Mps on 5Ghz band even if i keep my phone at 1m from the router.
more then that the speed is rapidly decreasing to very low values and i can get better values only if i stop wifi and the restart it. in the wifi menu i switched "power save" option to off but i can't see any changes.
i also have an "android pc" imito mx2 and with this i get up to 135Mps on 2.4Ghz band.
so, my questions are:
1. why my note2 can't achieve maximum speed values and what can i do to get closer to those maximum values?
2. why the speed decrease shortly after initial connection and what ca i do to keep my connection at higher speed all the time?
i think that speed fluctuations can be a router issue (if someone can advise with router i'll be glad), but high speed limitation and fast decreasing in speed seems to be note2 issues.
any suggestion is welcomed!
thank you very much!
nobody? even with different router?
common guys!
there are so many smart people here, not even one with this problem or with an ideea how to solve it?
thank you!
Hi
Theres no answers as this is common issue and there are lots of threads about it.
In short: Your speeds are very good almost maximum You can get. Dont belief in marketing mumbo-jumbo 450mbit/s. Nobody see such speeds in real life. ln reality, You can safety bet 10 to 15 MB/sec is max You can get from Wifi.
There are special hardware configurations where lts possible to reach higher speeds but not in this case.
As general 2.4 ghz gives you wider coverage area but lower max speeds. 5ghz gives you smaller coverage but higher speeds. You need to check carefully which standard gives you better connection speed and stability in your particular case.

Is your WDR4300 with stock firmware? I would suggest to try DD_WRT (or Gargoyle) which gave mine a boost for everything. Need to follow the instruction carefully though when flashing the third party firmware, if you haven't done it before.
can you please give me the link with the last dd-wrt firmware and with the instructions?
thank you!
its normal thats how BCM 4334 works
http://www.broadcom.com/products/Wireless-LAN/802.11-Wireless-LAN-Solutions/BCM4334
ok, thank you for the info!
now i have:
- note2 - 72 or 150Mbps
- nexus7 - 65Mbps
- iMito MX2 - 135 Mbps
- toshiba notebook - 54Mbps
- ipad2 - i don't know but it has the most stable link
- iphone5 - same as ipad2
is that confusing or what?
^^
Note 2 support a/b/g/n max link @2.4Ghz at 72Mbps , max link @5Ghz with 40 Mhz ( channel bounding ) 150Mbps
N7 only support b/g/n 2.4Ghz @65Mbps
iMito MX2 : IDK
ur notebook @54 mean its only b/g wireless which max link can be 54Mbps
ipad 2 support 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz max link at 65Mbps
iPhone 5 use the same chip as Note2 broadcom 4334
It is all about channel width... 20mhz 40mhz or vth80 (40+40 mhz) capable of speeds up to 150, 300, and 450 mbp . Depending on client... 1x1, 2x2 or 3x3... (Hell they are about to release a 4x4 capable router even though the clients don't exist yet)
Good read...
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Atheros/ath_wireless_settings
See cannel width section
The Galaxy Note II is equipped with Broadcom BCM4334 chipset for the IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity in 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz dual-band with maximum rate up to 150 Mbit/s
That makes the GN2 only a 1x1 capable client folks [the OP was connecting at max speed]
Further WiFi security settings can also cripple speed. WEP is not secure and slowest... WPA is better.... WPA security algorithm also come into play...
To reach top end of speed limits (on your 1x1 client, or any other) router should be set to:
security mode: WPA2
WPA alogrithm: AES (not TKIP or TKIP+AES)
To the folks that said you can't achieve top speeds.... Go read up on how to configure your router
(And learn what top speed limitations are given your router hardware, and hardware in each of your client devices)
Edit:
PS. you did not specify the hardware revision of your TP-Link TL-WDR4300

WiFi channel 13?

I'm doing first tests with my brand new Z2 Force EU unbranded version and I'm focusing on WiFi since of issues haved with precedent Moto Z...
First impression are not so great... WIFi scanning is quite slow and low signal networks aren't stable at all...
More it seems to me that it is unable to see Channel 13 networks... Is it limited up to channel 11 (as imposed on some countries?)
Any impressions are the welcome...

That's odd... I can't testify if band 13 works, but WiFi is great here for me in the states. I never use 2.4Ghz though. 5Ghz gets better signal than other devices in my house. It even grabs signal from the outside! (Brick exterior, wood panel interior walls).
I can't stand the issues inherent in 2.4 natively (speed, latency, jitter, etc fixed with 5Ghz AC) so I cannot attest to 2.4 having issues. 5Ghz AC works great though! 730 Mbps LAN speeds and capping my provision speed from ISP.

Yes, even in my previously Moto Z issues was mostly related to 2.4 GHz, with 5 GHz working better...
I recall that Band 13 has never worked on a Moto unit with me. Router is an AVM Fritzbox 7390 and the new 7590.
Moto X 2014, Style (Pure), Force, Moto360 Smartwatch, Z and Z2 Force Band 13 was never available.

Edit: I've just found that channels 12 & 13 are enabled on country codes basis. Since I was testing it without a sim card inserted, probably it is working with them disabled. I'll retest it with a sim card ASAP...

Confirmed they work flawlessly as soon as I inserted an Italian SIM in phone...
Maps location seems to unlock EU channels
My Z Play wasn't seeing channels 12 & 13 here in the UK even with a UK SIM in the phone. Checking other forums, I saw that someone with a Moto G had been able to connect to 13 by letting Google Maps detect the phone's location, so I opened up Maps and hit the locate button, then went into Settings > Wi-Fi. I could now see and connect to a channel 13 network, and it gave the same up/down bandwidth that I had been getting on 11. So it looks like that could be another solution if the SIM doesn't do it.

Does it supports 802.11ac wifi ?

Hi,
it's all in the title, many websites announced it provides 802.11ac (since it's the same 625 chip it would make sense) while the official spec doesn't, so, does it ?
No, 5 GHz n is max.
That there is no ac wifi can be a problem? Because I'm thinking about replacing my dear old LG G2 with this a2l, but that's one of the things that's blocking me.

Do you really need to download something at speeds over 300 Mbps on your phone?
There is already have 802.11n at 5 GHz.
And don't think that 5 GHz will ever supersede 2.4 GHz, because you should know that more high frequencies means less signal penetration through obstacles, but also more speed.

Why you defend the undefendable?
The "****ty" mediatek from the 2015s Redmi Note 2 already allowed Wifi AC
The Snapdragon 625 also can handle it, so this is another ****ty movement by Xiaomi
Also, your comment is kinda tech illiterate, because even when the THEORETICAL limit is 300Mbps that's theoretical and ideal conditions.
Yes, I want speeds over 300Mbps (which in best will translate into 30MB/s speeds) to transfer files wirelessly over my LAN or to browse with my 600Mb FTTH connection.

I think this phone can support wifi ac but you need to unlock bootloader and install custom rom to unlock dual band. I'm using redmi note 4 also have no wifi ac in spec sheet and also not available when scanning for 5ghz but after installing custom rom it is available.5ghz band is available in the chip but xiaomi locked 5ghz just to reduce the price of the device to avoid paying technology from qualcomm. I will buy this phone next week and i will give you guys feedback after using custom roms.for me why i need dual band wifi is because i'm using public wifi alot! So thats why i need a choice to avoid traffic which normally people just connects to 2.4ghz and less in 5ghz
Which rom you used for redmi note 4? Thanks

theres wifi bonding module, rum 2.5ghz and 5ghz at 40mhz, should be satifactory. on some MTK solution AP it shows 300mbps link speed

A70 wifi network speed

Is this max network speed for a70?
This is screenshoot form wifi settings.
On other phones i get 130mbps.
mine says 65. Ultra slow downloads. Heard some people talkin about using the 5 Ghz band of certain equipped routers or n band. It is just so slow downloading from my wlan I figured it must have something greater wrong with it. Like hackers again...who knows.
This is what mine says
On mine is 72mbps network speed and cant get over 49mbps download speeed on speedtest.net
433Mpbs on 802.11AC for me
I get a picture 130 mbps on my oreo device but both pie devices say 65 mBps.
My 1000/100/10 switch connects ethernet to various devices which easily shuttle the expected 80-130 actual MB/s around of large filetypes.
I don't have any sort of 5 Ghz router just the crappy device that the company sent out. And on that the MAC filter keeps getting disabled which increases my paranoia. Till 2 weeks ago I used the same crappy standard gateway/router for 6 years and frankly it was equal or better experience. At least that one started up reasonably fast. And its MAC filter was always on. But that could just indicate that the neighborhood brats had an easy backdoor to that one and didn't have to brute force off the MAC filter.
In my opinion the MAC filter getting disabled (now a few different times it has happened) indicatives a much much larger problem
I have been intending to get my own personal router for a while but there are too many options so I haven't had the scope to choose one yet.
Other phone in network displays 117mbps and is a Pie.
On same network 2.4ghz on s8,s7 i get 130mbps and on a70 72mbps max.
Just tried 5ghz on same network and got 150mbps it is a little faster.
But on 2.4ghz 72mbps is max.
hi guys
i have also same problem . cannot connect more than 72mbps , with 5ghz 150mbps max . something wrong but i could not find what is the problem .
you guys found any solution ?

i think all a70 phones are like that
I just tested and got 158Mbs with a 5Ghz wifi connection, although only around 60Mps on 2.4Ghz.
Andre
I'll check mine later and see if I can figure out what's happening
Right next to the router I can see 96mbps in 2.4Ghz
Must be something wrong. I got 433mbps.
Nothing is wrong.
The Snapdragon 675 supports 2x2 chains on WiFi, but the A70 only has a 1x1 antenna so it connects at half the speed.
Link speeds on the A70 are as follows:
2.4 GHz = 72 Mbps
2.4 GHz (with 256 QAM) = 96 Mbps
5 GHz = 433 Mbps
On all devices with 2x2 on WiFi, the speeds above will be doubled on those.
These are in ideal network conditions with great signal strength and low interference. These numbers could reduce if you are far from the router.
This is not abnormal. A lot of mid-range devices only have 1x1 for WiFi.

Extremely slow WIFI Connection link speeds

Hi all,
I've recently purchased 2x Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro's and I've noticed that the WiFi link speeds are hilariously slow for such a modern phone.
2.4g seems to be limited to a max 72mpbs and 5g is limited to 433mbps. Now, before you say 'it's your router grumblegrumble' it isn't. It's a VMG3925-B10B and its capable of much faster wifi link speeds and I know it is because my older LeEco LEMax 2 got a lot more, so do my laptops, and Ipad. Even my 10 year old Dell 1520 gets faster than 72mbps.
So, now that is out of the way, what on earth is going on? I'm certain that this modern phone must be able of quicker wifi speeds especially considering it's reliant on wifi for connectivity?
I've tried entering the mediatek engineering mode on the phone but can't get into the wifi options (wifi needs to be off, operated too much, constant search on etc) which are all set correct but still doesn't let me in.
Any ideas because this is going to bug the hell out of me. 5G is fine but it's still not acceptable.
Well I have on my router about 36MB/s on 5Ghz.
Redmi Note 8 Pro should also support simultaneously connection on 2,4 and 5 GHz WiFi. But not enabled right now for some reasons.

Unfortunately your speed test doesn't mean squat because it's only testing your broadband connection. Not the WiFi link speed between your device and router.
It doesn't seem like there's any extended bandwidth capabilities?

Who was using Bluetooth while using WiFi?
I watch youtube with BT earphones for example, internet is god damned slow, 144p loads for minutes even on 4G... That seems to be a problem of software. Disconnecting BT brings internet back
On a redmi note 8 miui 12 try this: go to settings/location and turn off wifi and bluetooth scanning
