Good Afternoon,
Can people say if they experience phone call lag when they are using wireless carplay with zlink?
Basically where there is a delay in you hearing the other person and vice versa so you end up talking over each other. at the moment with carplay dongles i get about about a 2 second delay.
I've tried all the dongles (Autokit, Autoplay, Zbox) and i get the delay with all of them so looking at buying a head unit (PX6) with zlink build in.
Many Thanks
Is it an MTCD or variant of, type unit
i have a mtce. (px6) and it didnt come with zlink so have been using dongles but all result in lag, thought a head unit with zlink might be better from what ive found online

Hey guys,
I purchased this unit from Amazon and absolutely love the radio, but I've tried to get 4 different modern phones to connect their call audio through the radio, but all I get is silence. I can hear the unit switch audio inputs but nothing comes through the speakers.

However, BT music streaming works just fine.

I ordered another unit in case one was bad, but still have the same problem.
The manufacturer seems responsive, but I'm losing patience, any suggestions to fix this problem?

Have you tried with another phone?
UnfortunatelyI tested with 4 phones:
Iphone 6s plus
LG V10
Samsung Note 5
HTC One M8
Almost feels like something is not wired properly, yet everything works fine except call audio.
What would cause media audio to work via BT, but not call audio?
The only item I can think of is the BT settings on the phone, but all phones were configured for call and media streaming.
Did you ever find a resolution to this issue?
Have been bench testing my new unit for that past week, was sad to discover this. At least it is able to alert a phone call in various ways.

Yes!
I sourced my amplifier using the rear RCA outputs on the Joying HU, after realizing that most manufacturers output call audio to the front channels only, I resolved the problem by moving my RCA cables to the front set of HU outputs.
Hope this helps others.
I ran into this with my wife's Iphone 6 today. My LG G3 works great, but the Iphone keeps switching back from bluetooth to itself for call audio. No amplifier in the car.
We are going to try updating the iOS on it and see if that makes any difference...

I could be way off here, but similar thing happened when I switched from Android to an iPhone. Found out that if you answer the call from your iPhone, it will switch to the iPhone earpiece. You have to answer incoming calls via the hands free device (your steering controls or the touchscreen) to keep the audio going through the Bluetooth.

The video shows you are using a Malaysk ROM. Did you try the latest ROM for your unit?
I am bench-testing my Eonon GA2114 (RK3188, 800x480) and had the same issue. I installed Malaysk's Dec 4 ROM and the problem is solved for me.

I'm using the completely stock software, haven't touched it yet
I'm looking to purchasing a MTCB double din head unit, however, I've been reading about microphone issues even with external microphones. This requires hardware modification to fix for some models. However, I cannot determine if all units are like this, or only some. Please let me know!
Thanks!
All the devices I have seen are basically the same and I think actuall built by the same people. They are just sold by many different vendors. So I don't think any of them are free from this problem. The repair itself is not too bad, a fine tip soldering iron really helps. But if anyone knows one without the problem I would be happy to be wrong!
I have a Joying HU and have not done the mic mod or even hooked up the external mic. Using only the onboard mic, my android voice control works fine and BT calls work as expected. Friends say I sound fine and no echo issues on their end.
I too have a joying unit with no mic issues. I think there might have been a hardware revision recently. FWIW pumpkin is selling what looks to be a MTCB with a parrot bluetooth in it.

I've the new Pumpkin and the microphones are still in parallel making the sound as bad as it use to be. No real improvement. Had to cut the wires
on the front one.
The thing is that they promise 24h response, but sine it's Chinese New Year the response time is 7 days.
I have a joying and did not connect the external mic. Bluetooth works fine, I hear them and they hear me no problem. I had an Erisin with no external mic and had no problems either.
I was just wondering which country people are in, I am in Australia so we drive on the right hand side of the car and the mic is on the left hand side of the units, therefore the mic is closer to the user [potentially] than us, maybe that is why it is clearer? just a thought bubble.
LHD, wouldn't think RHD would effect it much, if any. Road noise and speech volume would have a greater effect.
Hi Guys,
I have a Seicane PX5 octa core, 4GB RAM/32GB storage unit installed in my Mitsubishi L200 pickup. Had it for over a year now, and has worked perfectly from day 1, steering wheel keys all good, bluetooth calls, navigation, audio (much better than the stock radio), etc. Got a DAB+ box hooked up, reverse camera, etc. Really happy with it, upgraded to Android 10/latest MCU over the last week, again no problems.
So, why the post ?
There is one issue I had initially. The unit came with one of the can bus decoder boxes that connects to the loom at the back of the stereo. Once fitted and I started driving, I started getting all sorts of warning lights flashing on the dashboard - airbag warnings, engine lights, etc. Reading the OBD codes it was complaining about canbus communication errors. I cleared the codes and disconnected the canbus decoder from the loom. Ever since then, no codes, and the unit works perfectly - including things like the steering wheel controls.
So my question is, should I care that the canbus box caused errors ? Does it actually do anything worthwhile ? I guess it might depend on the vehicle it's installed in. Door Open warning maybe ? Speed sensitive volume adjust (although could use GPS for that) ? I'm just wondering if it's worth trying to get a replacement or just forget about it as it doesn't do much anyway.
Thanks.
Did you get this sorted and was it a dasaita head unit thanks

scottydog, apologies for not replying to this sooner, I never got a notification that someone had replied to this, and I have had cause today to revisit this issue.
The head unit I wrote about was a Seicane unit. Aside from the can bus issue described, the unit has been flawless. My solution was to just omit the can bus box, the unit worked just fine, steering wheel keys, etc al worked perfectly so I just left it.
However, I decided for Christmas to upgrade the unit to a Dasaita PX 6 unit, it will be faster, has higher resolution screen, etc. This unit also came with a can bus decoder as part of the vehicle specific unit. So I fit it, and guess what - exactly the same as with the Seicane unit - weird dashboard warnings all over the place, airbag, traction control, etc.
So, I think, no problem, just ditch the can bus box. But there are two problems this time - (1) unlike the Seicane, the Dasaita unit won't power on unless the can bus box is connected, and (2) the Dasaita unit has an application pre-installed that allows tweaking of a lot of vehicle specific settings (headlamp on time, etc) that you used to be able to set with the factory head unit, and I'm guessing can bus connection will be needed to make those work.
So I would like to get to the bottom of this and get the unit working with the can bus unit in place. I've logged an issue on the Dasaita forum so we'll see what happens there. I don't think it's the can bus decoder, I can't believe two would display the same problem, I'm pretty sure it's the can bus settings in the Factory Settings of the unit - I can certainly make the problem worse by altering those, but I haven't found anything that makes it better !
I've attached an image showing the can bus settings on the device as I installed it. My car is a 2016 L200 UK version right hand drive, it's a Totan model that didn't have sat nav as new but does have steering wheel controls, etc.
Any ideas would be appreciated !
Thanks
hi guys,
I have the same problem with my Mitsubishi Lancer 2009.
I installed a android head unit over a year a go and didn't had any problems until recently when my ABS and ASC light start being on in my dashboard. The lights keep switching on and off at irregular intervals and when i put a car tester on it showed beside the ABS error code (C2116 code) other errors on airbags and engine immobilization, all related with that android unit, errors on car CAN line.
My car has an Rokford Fosgate amplifier from factory and the sound system doesn't work without the Canbus box installed, so ditching the canbus is not an option for me.
I also ordered a new canbus box from China and i will receive the package sometime in January. I'll keep you posted how it works with new one.
If you have any other information on this topic or you find something on line, I'm really interested since the android head unit is a big upgrade for my car and i will hate to come back to original radio.
Hello,
First of all sorry for my bad english.
3 years ago i bought this very head unit https://www.amazon.fr/Wekuo-Android-8-0-Lecteur-2015-2016-2017-Autoradio-Bluetooth/dp/B07GH48P59
It's running latest Hal9K Android 9 version.
Since one year back i started using less times my car but i noticed that after a while of driving the speaker would sound weirdly, some coil whine out of the speakers directly, but i never try to solve the problem...
Some months ago i could only start the car, drive 5minand then a very very lound noise from the speakers...
I changed all 4 speakers to brand new Focal.
What is the problem ?? Actually i was testing everything out of the car using a PSU , even changed the thermal compound and add computer fan to my HU...
At first i wasn't able to start the UH with PSU, then i find out because CANBUS i had to hotwire the ACC wire so the HU will start, and it did...
It runs cold as winter..... (which is perfect, and even pluged some speakers and sound is perfect)
but when i plug it back to the car it gets hot even if nothing is being used... and i mean i only plugged it to car power, even speakers were not connected..
Car battery is brand new, same as the one before, (fiat original parts), car alternator is working fine, also the problem is present with engine off or on.
I really thing this is CANBUS related, but from where ? from the can bus little red box adapter ? something else from the car itself ? ? actually this is my second HU on this car, and the old one i was able to start it with PSU without bypass ACC from CANBUS
It's a Fiat Tipo from 2016, it's original radio was the uconnect 5. Should i try to connect everything together and perform a new proxy alignment using fiat multiecuscan ?
I am getting very angry because this situation, i hate driving and not having music lol
If i can't to anything i thing i will erase the canbus from the HU and just use ACC, but i will lose canbus and steering wheel buttons as well..
PS: i sent message to the HU seller (i don't expect any answer after 3 years) because 2 years ago i chose bad MCU file and had some problems but after hal9K helped me finding the original one (i think) but i had a few bugs at the time i don't remember now, but i don't think this is the problem but if ' could find the original file i could do that aswell..
And actually i want to update to android 10 from hal9K.. but first i need to solve this problem.
Someone already had this king of problem ??
Thank you in advance.
I have a MTCE PX6 running Android 9 and the USB port that ZLINK uses for CarPlay has stopped working out of the blue.
It does not even charge a device or recognize anything plugged into it. Ive updated the MCU and the ZLINK app successfully with no changes. The secondary USB port does work properly but cannot be used for CarPlay with the ZLINK app.
Does anyone know if this is a common fixable issue or tips on further troubleshooting? Ultimately, I would just like my CarPlay to work. I believe my unit has the hardware for wireless CarPlay but it is not activated through the ZLINK app.

Welcome. This comment based on multiple thread posting and that zlink and other Chinese hacks are trouble, work for short periods of time and then break. Updates to either device generally are the cause.
When I first got my MAX 6 I noticed on longer drives the android auto would eventually crap out and freeze. I think there is a thermal management design issue with the ZLink hardware in the unit, and that may have caused your USB death. I ended up cutting a hole in mine and installing a fan which fixed the freezing, but it sounds like it may be too late for yours.
