Question OxygenOS 12 C.44 (Europe) issue with alarm - OnePlus 9 Pro

Hello,
I have upgraded my phone to the latest Android 12 update and most things seems ok and not seen the issues that was reported in the previous releases, besides things looks a bit different as I said it seems to run OK for me.
The one "big" issue i seem to have is with the alarm that I can't snooze or turn it off from the lock screen, it plays the alarm at the right time but to turn it off I have to unlock the phone and pull down on the notification bar and then hit disable.
So was wondering if this is working for anyone else OK on the c44 update or not? If it does I might try a factory reset and see if it works after that, but dont really want to have to take a sledge hammer approach after just upgrading the phone.

Hi, this is davyleggend and my experience:
12 "Stable" Issues Thread
Besides the general low quality of this piece of software, here are some specific pains: 1. SafetyNet test fails (no root) - WTF? Can't use any of my work applications because of that. 2. Status bar notification icons don't appear (except for...

I´ve had my device (EU C44) last night on that wireless charging station and in the morning the alarm started regularly. The screen was on and I was able to swipe the alarm away. Just like before on Android 11.

Thanks, guess i might have to do a factory reset see if it resolve it for me...I guess I might hold of a bit see if they release another update shortly as it does feel a bit like a beta not a final release.

Read about this issue elsewhere. It doesn't happen on my phone.

Same issua here. Sounds like a small problem, but this is huge problem at 0600 when alarm starts and you try to shut it quickly so your wife doesn't wake
Tried to change all kinds of settings, no help.
Clock -> Alarm -> volume and power button - Tried all 3 different settings here, no change. Alarm start, but screen remains black.

Mine works fine. But i'm on ColorOS C.44 (European phone/region)
I Don't like that missing alarm option : Alarm starts even with the phone off". So i set it to Airplane Mode.

Well, now it works on both clocks: op and google.
I removed both, reboot, installed and boom, works nice...

I facotry reset my phone and it is now working perfectly and I also fixed some other weird issues I have had for a while on Android 11 as well after the upgrade to Android 12.
The only annoying thing was that it didnt restore my SMS messages from my googlebackup which has been working fine for years on previous devices so not sure why that was, guess it did clear out all the old cr*p I had there

Well... worked fine yesterday when testing, but this morning phone was black again when alarm started. This is actually bugging me more than it should. Maybe factory reset is the next step. Or maybe I just go back to android11 and update to 12 when 12L comes, hopefully volume control in chromecast works then as promised...

Me too expereince this bug... Tried factory reset too ... But the issue still remains

Same for me. I had donr s factory reset after the upgrade and faced the alarm issue, had to restart the phone to turn off the alarm. Eventually I reverted back to android 11.

Guess I spoke to soon as this morning I couldnt disable the alarm without unlocking and then pull down on the notification bar...very annoying please OnePlus can we get a stable release of Android 12 thanks.

Same thing here. Is really a annoying problem and still remains after several upgrades of color OS 12.

Yup, me too when I test it the screen goes on correctly but every morning this don't happen. I'm on c44 eu, wipe data don't work .

Alarm worked fine this morning let me disable it by swiping.
I guess the point is though for being a "stable" official upgrade it feels far to much like they using everyone as beta testers.

You're right. I found this option (i don't remember if there is in os 11 too but I don't think so) by default is off (turn on for disable). It say "allows you to stop active trace logs when a bug report is initiated" .
In one plus community app when I report the alarm issue they told me to screenshot the time when that happens. This aroused my suspicions so I found this out.

Same issue on c.44. I fix it by install Google stock clock.
And also I come from 11 to 12 with clean install. So I think that factory reset will not help.

All problems are resolved now and phone works like it should. Alarm is working nicely, I can control volume from phone volume-buttons when casting to chromecast,...
Solution was pretty simple: downgraded back to 11

Unfortunately for me not work. Isn't an app issue, it's a system problem.

List of bugs I have experienced

I've been using the OnePlus 3 for a couple days now and I have started to notice some bugs. I'm going to use this thread to document them and track whether or not they are fixed with updates. Unfortunately, bugs in Oxygen OS were the main reason I decided not to keep the OnePlus 2 last year, so hopefully I don't discover any more than I already have. These were all discovered in Oxygen OS 3.1.2, completely stock and not rooted.
1) If you open the dialer app, go to its settings, and select "Sounds and vibration", it kicks you back to the main part of the app instead of letting you change the sound and vibration settings.
2) This morning I woke up and noticed that my alarm didn't go off at 6 AM. When I looked at my phone, the time in the status bar showed 6:33, the time when I swiped down the notification shade showed 6:55, and my clock app (Google Clock) seemed to think it was about 5:37 based on telling me my 6 AM alarm would go off in 23 minutes. Three different times, WTF? I restarted the phone and now everything seems to be working correctly, but that was weird and disturbing.
3) When I turned on my bluetooth speaker this morning (Bose SoundLink Color), it kept telling me "OnePlus 3 connected" over and over about every 5 seconds until I started playing a podcast from the phone. The speaker has never done that with any other phone.

That's very disturbing. It should literally never do that. Like it should have a dedicated clock circuit that would alarm even if your phone battery dies. My Sony Ericssons as far back as I can remember would turn themselves off from low battery and still come on to alarm.
Wow, that clock bug is a deal breaker.
Hmm, I wasn't sure if I slept through my first alarms or if there was an issue with the phone. That may explain it..
I tried to replicate #1 but could not. No issues for me.
Are you on 3.1.2?

Yeah. 3.1.2. I am using a custom ringtone that I moved over from another phone into the Ringtones folder, so maybe that's part of that one.

In phone just received -
Set a custom ring tone (mp3 file). Now can not go to settings "Sounds and vibration"
Kernel version from Jul 5th 2016
How to solve this?
#1 i have it too
#2 never had a problem with any build. I have had the device since June 30th.
1 can be solved by giving the phone app permissions to storage
Go to apps press the mechanic icon and go to access permissions, select storage turn on the switch for phone....

Defective Pixel XL or Defective Android 7.1?

I have a huge problem with my new Pixel XL. I have had it for 3 days now, and each night I plug it into a wall outlet. When I wake up in the morning, my phone's screen is black, the device is noticeably warm, and my alarm clock never goes off!
This morning though, I was able to grab a logcat (see attached). I just got up a bit ago (late, because my f**king alarm did not go off again), so I'm going to start grep'ing through it to try and find a root cause.
I had somewhat similar issues with my Nexus 6P - I feel like the hardware was shot on it though, the only thing that I am doing that is probably "different" from most folks is that I probably have more accounts on on my phone. I did catch something in logcat that showed that the Pixel was freaking out because of too many log messages :s
Any ideas?

I did one when I bought the phone and I am actually doing one right now! This reset has been going for like 10 minutes though!!!
I wonder what the deal is? Maybe wiping each file on the phone individually (since N introduces file-level encryption now?).
Biting my nails waiting for something to happen
Meh, I switched to the Recovery Mode based factory reset so I can at least see things happen :|

Use alarm clock extreme + timer and your issues will stop with the Alarm not going off. What app are you using by the way? I'm assuming the app is not made to wake the phone properly from doze mode which is common with the new Android Os's.

I'm using the stock clock app's alarm clock, which hasn't ever failed me before. I shouldn't have to install a 3rd party app just to get my alarm to go off though!
So earlier today, I attempted a factory reset from the settings menu. It appeared to start wiping the phone, but it hung on the Google splash screen with the 4 bouncing balls. I let it run for probably 30 mins - I drove to the store, ran some errands, came back and there didn't appear to be any progress.
Being the Linux freak that I am, I wanted to see what was going on under the hood, I couldn't get a shell over adb so I rebooted the phone and initiated a factory reset from the stock recovery. This time, i watched it wipe the phone in a matter of a minute or so. I then re-flashed the stock image and re-setup the phone. So far so good, but we'll see if it s**ts itself again tonight. If it does, I'm going to be seriously pissed, because for $1K my phone should "just work".

Is the phone stock, modded, rooted? Just interested to know.
SO this crash DEFINITELY seems to happen overnight, everytime when I enable Do Not Disturb! My phone just takes takes a crap in the middle of the night. This sucks!!!

Slow app opening when tapping notifications

Almost every Samsung android phone I've own has this problem after using it for a period of time. I've had the note 10+ since launch and the dreaded issue has return.
For some apps, I would tap the notification for the app. It would take a few minutes before the app will open.
Anyone has this issue?
I've had it on my note8, Note9 and now the note10+.
Hard reset will fix it but I don't want to reset and start again..
Continuation from note 8 thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/help/app-lag-clicking-notification-t3781356/page2
I don't have this issue.
Some people prefer to perform an hard reset as soon as they got the phone, before starting using it for the first time ; maybe they had some issues like yours at first, then wanted to avoid them.
Personally I didn't got any at first run.
That's odd, I have not experienced what you say in any of my samsung devices dating from my beloved S3 to this note10+
Yes..i am so confuse why it happens.. When the phone is new or just had a hard reset.. I don't have the issue.. Over time I always get it.
I also have this issue and it's incredibly annoying. Apps will take a full minute to open after being tapped on from the notifications banner. I too have had all but one Note product since the original (skipped the 2nd gen), but this is the first I can recall this issue happening. I'm also experiencing the issue of Google Play store apps getting stuck at 99% or 100% and not installing for 10 minutes or longer.
Is it all apps or certain apps only? Are you running stock or rooted? Exynos or Snapdragon? I haven't seen this issue shown up in a while, but have had it happen on Android devices in general in the past.

It seems to be related to pendingIntent type notifications as if I tap a notifications that is a collapsed version of all the notifications, the app will load instantly. Have a look at this video I created:
(I didn’t include the tap showing on screen unfortunately, will attempt to do another video next time)
Initial tap was when the notification is collapsed for reolink and that will just open up the app. Happens instantly.
I close the app, expanded the notification and click on specific notification
The app doesn’t open until 8 minutes + later towards the end of the video.
Issue is happening across a fair few apps so I doubt it's common app..
I also have the issue of delayed notifications as discussed here:

Have the same issue with the play store. One way to speed it up is to force close play store... Then reopen it..
The app will redownload and should install this time.. Not always..
Quick update: Got fed up and did a factory reset and restored everything. Everything's working fine now. Obviously that's a last resort, but so far it's the only solution I've seen.

Yes.. It will fix it.. But it's temporary..
The issue won't happen straight away.. It takes a few weeks/months and will return.. It has happened to me from the note 8, note 9 and now note 10+.
Initially everything will be good and fast.. Then eventually issue will return..
So need to try to get to the root of it..

I have been dealing with 3 issues in my phone:
-delayed notifications
-slow app opening when tapping notifications
-apps installation through play store delayed after download
So recent development, I have been following this thread on Samsung forums regarding delayed notifications
https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5...ting-all-range-of-Samsung/td-p/738070/page/28
Have tried all the fixes which has given minor relief..
But the last suggestion to disable dynamic lock on windows 10 seems to have fixed the issue for me. Early days but all 3 issues have not reoccured yet today.. Usually my Samsung reminders will not show until I reboot. But today been good so far.
Apps install instantly and apps open from notifications straight away..
Will report back in a few days if anything changes..

So ... did this do it? I've been dealing with this for a LONG time. My Note 8 started this crap after the 9 'upgrade', motivated me to get a new Note 10. A few months later, the SAME exact problem is cropping up.
Slow notification reactions, stuck installs, notifications coming in repeatedly, notifications coming in late all at once.
If this isn't resolved soon, my next phone will definitely not be a Samsung.

Yes, my issue is gone now. Try removing windows dynamic lock and unpair your phone from your laptop if you have this setup.
If not, try slowly removing other Bluetooth devices.
For me, a Bluetooth yeelock also caused the delay to return..I have to reboot each time after using the lock to get it back to normal.
I also think a plantronics desktop headset was also causing the issue as I was getting the lag everytime I reach home since removing windows dynamic lock. I have since unplugged it and unpaired. So far been good for a few weeks now.
I heard this issue wasn't specific to Samsung but might be an Android issue..i think it started with Android 9.0 as you have mentioned as I never had this issue when I was using the note 8 before one ui.. But note 9 and 10+ both had issues..
Similar issue mentioned on pixel phone support:

I don't have Dynamic Lock set up, nor do any of my computers have bluetooth enabled. BUT I do have this cursed Plantronics PLT W8200 series headset that has been nothing but buggy since I got it. Not surprised if this is the cause. I just unpaired it - fingers crossed.
I hope that's it because otherwise, it's just 2 other pretty crucial devices I have paired.

Would be good to hear if this fixes your issue. Please make sure you reboot after unpairing too and if possible completely unplug the plantronics as I think it might try to connect to your phone still (but fail) and potentially still bring the issue back as my yeelock doesn't even show up as a paired device, the app just sends msg to it via bluetooth and I still have delays after using it.

So after the weekend of having the Plantronics headset un-paired, it *seems* better. Hopefully it stays that way.

wifi and bluetooth won't turn on

My wife's pixel 3xl recently started having this problem. It is completely unmodified stock, locked bootloader, reports it is on the latest update.
Wifi and bluetooth won't stay on. A reboot fixes it, but eventually they shut off again. Sometimes it lasts a few days after a reboot, sometimes less. Once they shut off, they can't be turned back on again. You can try and toggle them on with quick settings, but it doesn't actually work. Only a reboot fixes it.
I tried a factory reset a couple of weeks ago. That seemed like a cured it for about a week, but it's back.
It's a pretty aggravating problem. If I can't fix it soon, she's probably going to end up with a new phone. Anyone else seen this, or better yet, know a fix? I've done some searching in the forum and on the web in general, but I didn't find anything informative other than one webpage that talked about some pixels, especially the 4a, having problems like this after updating to android 11.
Well, I got fed up with android 11, and downloaded the last android 10 factory image.
After flashing that and factory resetting, I'm having different problems. Now the phone takes like 5 seconds for the screen to come on when waking with the power button.
I'm starting to think this thing is cursed, or has hardware problems. Anyone have any ideas?
Edit: I have no idea why this would make a difference, but I switched unlocking method from swipe to none this morning and that eliminated that long wake-up delay. It's back to fast and responsive like it should be.
Now to see if wifi and bluetooth are going to behave better on android 10.

Well, I got fed up with android 11, and downloaded the last android 10 factory image.
After flashing that and factory resetting, I'm having different problems. Now the phone takes like 5 seconds for the screen to come on when waking with the power button.

You can try wakelock V3 and select 'CPU' and set as autostart on boot in the app settings to see if it wakes faster.
I can't believe that it worked for me. I was facing the same issue and I got frustrated. I was just serching and came across a reel showing fix regarding it. In that video person switched off his pixal tapped it on his leg (backside of phone) and then started it and keep tapping it on his leg while starting. It's really weird but I gave it a try. And can't believe it worked. Wife and Bluetooth both fixed now. Getting "on" now.

Question Every 3-4 days I must reboot

Ok, so like the title says, every 3-4 days I must reboot my phone.
When I play games, the game icon will show up in the lower right corner, I have everything for the game stuff turned off. I can click on the icon and it will ask me to turn on. I back out and it's gone for a few minutes. Mostly until I swipe back, then it will reappear. I can reboot the phone and it will work fine again for a another 3-4 days.
There are other instances that force me to reboot as well, one happened last night. I was scrolling through a local news app and the touch stopped working. I could not scroll up or down, and swiping back did not work. I had to lock the phone and just as the screen went dark, the phone scrolled in the directions I did and it backed out. This only happened when I hit the lock screen.
Is there a fix for this? Has anyone else experienced this?
My phone is rebooted on two to three occasions a month. Others have it more frequently. I wouldn't even say rebooted. Mine just shuts down at random times like other users so I don't know if there's a fix for this. I'm hoping there will be one within an update soon.
Google's absolutely ****ty disregard for their customers and customer service. I'm not Keen on sending a brand new device over to get a refurbished one that isn't guaranteed to solve the issue and most likely guaranteed to come with different issues that my device doesn't have already.
Does it back up to combat this since I have alarms set for work? In case the phone turns off, I don't want to miss work. I use my Google Home Mini speakers, a backup alarm.

Mine does not reboot or shutdown on it own, not once... I have to reboot every so often to keep it functional.
@thepersona My phone doesn't auto reboot either. I'd say do a backup and run https://flash.android.com/welcome to fully Factory Reset the phone and see if that helps (Mine upgraded just fine, but my parents both failed the Dec update and had random issues requiring the use of the Android Flash Tool).
Like the OP I do have to reboot my phone about every 3-4 days, but I don't attribute that just to Google Android, coders have become lax on how tight they keep their code, and I say that because in Windows 10 and Windows 11 you have to reboot every few days as well or see an increase in weird issues.

Just to clarify this, most carriers prevented the December update from releasing as Google has asked them to prevent it from going through, primarily due to an issue with calls dropping.
I always manually update my phone, however, I noticed the call dropping bug one day for about an hour straight.
But aside from this meaningless info, I agree with what you said: Attempt a factory reset and see what happens. I turn my phone off every night and charge it, so I don't notice any issues similar to what OP has mentioned.

Yeah mine did that it would randomly restart once a week no matter what I was doing but I did a factory reset and it hasn't happened since!

In your case, was it just a restart? Because mine literally powers off It doesn't reboot again. It shuts down in the middle of the night and I wouldn't know until I wake up when using my phone to figure out it won't turn on. I almost missed work on several occasions because of this lol

Yeah I was lucky and it was only once a week which was tolerable!
Something is definitely not right, hopefully is not a dodgy app but that would be preferable than something unfixable.
Ok guys you are missing my point and question. I DO NOT have the random reboots most have, but I have other issues that no one seem to have. Example, I listen to Spotify over night, I fall asleep to music, but 2 days ago it would randomly pause. At first I thought it was do not disturb that I just turned on, on my watch. It was not. Then I thought I may have been hitting my watch, I took it off and it still paused. I rebooted my phone and it's been fine since, no random pauses. Another example is, I play a game but I have the game dashboard turned off, but there times where the icon will pop up in the lower right. When I go into the settings for it, it shows it's off. When I go back to the game the icon is gone for a few minutes then it reappears. The only way for me to get it to stop showing for a few days is to reboot my phone.
I know you shouldn't have to reboot your phone every few days, and by few I mean sometimes it's 3-4 times a week. That tells me something is wrong.
Are you on the November or December update?
If November, I would try the December one.
Rooted or not rooted?
Either way, I would try a factory refresh and don't restore your apps from backup. Manually install only your most critical apps and see if you have the problem. Even better would be not install any additional apps at all and see if the problem happens. If it doesn't happen, install another small group of your most important apps and test again for long enough. Etc.
If you try thre update and/or factory reset, you could try restoring your cloud backup as normal and see if you have any problems still, but if you do, be prepared to factory reset and try like I mentioned in the above paragraph.
Until you can narrow down if the phone has this problem on the December update before you even change settings and add your favorite apps, then you won't know if it's the phone itself (possibly hardware problem), an app you have installed, a problem particular to a combination of factors including if you're on the November update, or what.
Good luck! Please let us know what happens.
I can tell you that until I updated to the December update I had the kinds of issues you had, where my P6P would malfunction (scrolling, just freezing) and I had to reboot the device. That was the first 6 weeks of using it. But when I updated to the December build, the issues for the most part went away. Hopefully you are on November and can update to December or wait until the January update drops. But I can say that I almost considered returning the phone due to the bugs until the December update resolved everything and it was like a new phone!
Good luck.
