Request for G7 /system/media sounds - LG G7 ThinQ Questions & Answers

hi, those of you with root, can you upload the entire system/media sounds? It is inaccessible without root on Android 8+ and T-Mobile variant does not have root!

[Q] Unable to change bootanimation [UK T-Mob Froyo ROM]

I'm at a loss on how to change the bootanimation.
I've got the T-Mobile UK Froyo Rom with some apps removed via BloatFreezer. I'm rooted and S-Off.
Using Root Explorer, I've managed to get rid of the T-Mobile animation by deleting
TMD_bootanimation.zip
TMU_bootanimation.zip
Startup_480x800_20fps.gif
from /system/customize/resource. I now get the blue Android text which ripples.
I've tried copying various bootanimation.zip files to /system/customize/recourse and /data/local I've checked that all persmissions are as they should be. I've tried a combination of renaming files by adding the TMD_ or TMU_, but still nothing!
I'm at a loss, does anyone know if it's possible to change the bootanimation on the T-Mob UK Froyo ROM?
I'd prefer to do it via the Root Explorer method. All though I think of myself as technically minded, and managed to root and s-off first time without incidence, I'd prefer keeping flashing to a minimum.
Thanks.

Sprint LG G2 4.4.2 Root Issues

Couple of weeks ago I rooted my LG G2 using towelroot. Worked fine and was easy. Dropped my phone and had to send it in for a replacement. New phone same Model won't root now. Tried a few different ways. Not to familiar with rooting thou. I rooted my old HTC before. Been trying to root my Sprint Samsung Tab 3 7.0 tablet too without any luck. I'd be able if I could at least get one device rooted.
Tried CyanogenMod, Towelroot, Kingroot and lORoot... All said Device not compatible.
Have not Tried Stump yet.
I'm fine down grading if I can get away with that. Phone worked perfectly fine last week.

Just use stump to root
Sent from my LG-LS980 using XDA Free mobile app
That's my next move. I'm hoping it will work. I only use root to run Super User and xMod.
I now can't find the Thread on that Stump Root....

Thank you very much.. Not used to the Forum yet..
Big thanks to Prime as well for this link.

Hopefully with these I can get back to my xMod'ing...
There appears to be two versions of IOroot out there, one is ioroot.zip (the newest one) and ioroot10.zip (which is older and caused me issues). For ZVC or ZVD builds, ioroot.zip worked for me without issues. I haven't moved to ZVE and probably won't as I'm not running CloudyG3 and I love it to death, I really do, it's simply wonderful to use and I'm already thinking "Damn, if I could just trade up this G2 for a G3..." 'cause it really is a great ROM (it's the G3 stock ROM with a revamped LG UI in case anyone didn't know).
Makes the G2 like a whole new device as far as I'm concerned.
Ok tried to use Stump Root... Stump root installed and opened, but said Device is Rooted...but Root Checker says it's not...

You need install SuperSU from market.
I did...SU says there is No Binary...and wont open...
Not 100 % sure on how to Truly un-root it so I can re-root it with Stump.
I'm guessing since I had it rooted before the LG update this is whats giving me problems now?
yes, only way now is to tot back to 100% stock then try Stump again.
I'm not sure how to TOT yet. I downloaded the file, but haven't opened it yet. I need to find a Video and watch it. I'm at work and all Videos are blocked.
I don't understand how to TOT Back....
I think both my Samsung Tab 3 and my LG G2 both need to be TOT so I can actually root them. I was spoiled with that Towelroot and the one click root... Ive searched and keep reading about TOT, but now how to actually do it step by step.
I'm in the same boat. I have a Sprint LG G2 LS980 with the ZVE software. The most recent update took my root away and now none of the root methods work without doing a TOT to stock. But I cant seem to figure out how to do that.

Stump worked for me after the second time
Use LG flash tool to .tot back. Check the Verizon G2 "Back to Stock" instructions. Follow that except use the LS980 firmware instead of the VS980 one.
Once you get used to it it's really easy.

You need all except the Verizon (VS980) firmware. Replace that with Sprint firmware (LS980).

How to disable boot sound?

I have root access and I'm using a Root Browser. I tried renaming /system/customize/resource/“HTC_Sense5_Boot.mp3”, and I successfully rename the file. I reboot the phone, the sounds is still working and when I navigate back to resources, the file name is back to default. I know I can modify the "default.xml" @ /system/customize/resource/CID, but I have a bad experience with the OTA updates. What am I doing wrong with the renaming thing? Is there a different way to disable the boot sound? My phone is a developer edition; S-On Android 4.4.4, unlocked bootloader and rooted.
Thanks in advance!

[Q] How to unlock LS980 on Kitkat 4.4.2

I am looking for a working link to a tutorial explaining how to globally unlock LG G2 LS980 (Android Version 4.4.2, Software Version LS980ZVC).
I tried several, but can't unlock the phone. Most pages say "Total Commander doesn't work on KitKat". I've rooted the phone already. And Root Checker confirms the same.
I have come down to this. As soon as I restart the phone after deleting the telephony.db file (which should stop the phone looking for Sprint), the file gets regenerated. And also, Kitkat does not allow Total Commander to copy files to phone. I had to do that in Root Explorer
Can anyone suggest a link or method to unlock the phone?
Thanks in advance.

If it's not encrypted use SALT to backup userdata and use SALT after that to mount it
