Question PUBG mobile and 90 fps, what the heck is this? - OnePlus 9 Pro

Hello,
When OnePlus released their 9 series I bought a OP 9. Right from the beginning it was 100 % clear that 90 fps in PUBGM would be enabled for those who wish to game with high frames. That was also the case. Nevertheless, I am the kind of person (prolly like many of yall ) that kind of switches phones like 5-10 times a year or something. Well, I did a mistake and bought a Redmagic 6R (which got fully refunded thankfully), but I invested in an iPad pro 2021 with the M1-SoC. Both these devices, needless to say, also had 90 fps enabled as an option.
2 weeks ago I bought a Xiaomi 11T Pro, which on paper and everything would seem like a done deal regarding this 90 fps issue. No. It wasnt enabled and there were no workarounds that actually worked (rooting would have solved the case of course). So, I sold it, found a sweet only opened box OP 9 Pro with alot of new, in boxes, accessories for a great price. I was so happy. This phone if any would be the golden standard if you like to be sure to be able to play at 90 fps in PUGBM, right? No. Ive tried everything, OOS12, 11, forcing stable refresh rate via adb (didnt do anything in any app tbh).
Guys, I know this might be a very silly problem, but its quite a deal breaker for me. Im ready to get rid of this phone, especially considering I can make a buck out of the sweet deal I managed to find, but I dont want to. I want to keep it and play PUBG at 90 fps. I do not care about the overheating issues, every Snapdragon 888 device is burning more or less in many type of work loads.
Is there any chance I can enable this game changer of an option or am I doomed to sell it and research the net 24/7 for some bargain deal, maybe ROG 5, Redmagic............ yes I would be willing if the price was "priceless". Lenovo legion duel 2 cant possibly be capped at 60 fps either, I have a hard time imagine at least.
Please help a fellow gamer out if you know anything!

Bro dw I gotchu.
So I was in the same loop that you're in regarding the 90fps pubg issue. Prior to my current 9 pro, I had an OP 7T. That was actually one of the first Android phone to feature 90fps, and I was ****ing thrilled when only OnePlus devices exclusively for that feature. Felt like a humongous upgrade over the 60. And honestly I got so good at the game (during the initiation of covid) that we had youtube tournaments and room sessions every other day.
Anyway after a while when the 9 series came out I felt like it was the time to upgrade. (not that my 7T gave me a reason to) I was planning on buying the 8 pro at first but somehow I managed to get an unbelievable deal with the stellar black version of the phone, which I instantly availed and got my 9 Pro.
Although this deal was a miracle for me at the time but I never ever thought even for a second before buying, that a flagship phone with a flagship processor would not have the option of 90fps by default. I was honestly devastated upon noticing this and tried many workarounds with zero success.
Corona also started to wear off and the gameplay in 60fps from smooth 90 felt like such a downgrade that I never felt like playing the game anymore after a couple of matches.
Funny thing is that Cod mobile never even got the official support for 90fps in the 9 series. I mean that's just so messed up. My 7T still has the 90fps option by default.
Anyway I left Pubg and Cod completely after a few months as the playing experience just wasn't worth the OP hardware.
Now to the good part
A few months back a man of culture uploaded a simple magisk module which enabled 90fps for both pubg and cod, for the 9 Pro. As I like to root my androids from the very start (currently on OOS11 rooted with custom kernel) I quickly flashed the module to check it out, and voila!
The 90fps option was visible in the game settings. No more workarounds and bull****. Just s simple magisk module and all your worries are gone. I really hope you know what I'm talking about regarding the magisk modules and rooting. You'll find easy rooting methods here on xda.
I probably have that module backed up in my Gdrive, I can provide you with the link if needed. I'm attaching a screenshot of that module as well so you know this isn't bull****
Godspeed my brother! I really hope this helps you or somebody in the future as nobody had a solution in my peak playing days.

Thanks for such an extensive and serious reply my man. Appreciate it very much. Yes, I do know everything about Magisk, it's innerworkings, it's current state* due to The Man taking a great leap I fully understand and am positive about even though it changed Magisk quite a bit (tbh Im fully convinced that Magisk would have ended up taking this path anyway, not by choice but you know it's been quite obvious Magisk hide isn't gonna last for a very long time whatever the boss of the project does or does not. I think there isn't even a single reason to question it, he made a great choice and finally got the pay check he deserves, not to mention the great honour and public recognition that his pure talent should get.
*Edit cus it didn't come out the right way, not being cocky lol. Also partly false statements.
Anyway, hide..... Yes, I am very comfortable in rooting this device as I've gone through that process via different ways but mainly Magisk and avoiding TWRP or any of the cousins it has. That particular module you mention I'd say to 99 % certainty is the exact same module and maintainer/dev behind it as I've flashed unto two or three devices. I remember you get alternatives in the terminal when flashing it, like 1-5, depending on game/games etc. Works flawlessly and Tencent are too incompetent, also lazy and spoiled to a degree that actually disgusts me. That's another story, but you're safe from any ban risk with the module flashed for sure.
I've seen that others have picked up the work and forked The Boss's project regarding the Hide option, gonna have a look at that now. Have they or someone been able to reestablish the hide function properly like before? I mean it's not only a big no-no if you can not hide being rooted from Tencent (**** em, I play 95 % of the time New State now and I'm very optimistic and happy to see what they've achieved since release day!). It's crucial for me to be able to use national digital ID app, banking apps and maybe others that shouldn't give a fk but somehow feel like they want or need to (virtue signaling?). Example being McDonalds and other silly ROFLMAO companies afraid of customers that prefer true control over their own, bought and paid for device.

i'm able to get 70-120 fps in pubgm on oos 11 without any additional configurations. I am pretty sure that on oos 11 you can use autohz from play store (paid) to make any app run on 120hz with adb and without root. But if you're on oos 12 you can try this app with the first option, it just applies and doesn't have a confirm button. if the phone overheat or is in low battery mode it will run at or below 60 fps regardless of what settings you've made.

Ive made many posts on here about PuBG Mobile.

Hahahahaha, the good ol McDonald's reference. That's a good way to put it lol
Don't you be worrying about the masisk hide capabilities. The main guy did leave magisk but I think he left his stuff in good hands. And the fact that he did all of this completely free for the rooting community makes him a living legend tbh.
By the way I have no issues with my safety net, banking apps or the fear of losing my tencent account. I've been using this module for 5-6 months now with no issues.
I did try Tencent's New estate recently when it came out, but was extremely disappointed with the gameplay. There's no official 90fps (ofc I was expecting that) and the general interface is buggy af. It didn't even reach 60 fps most of the time, so I uninstalled it after a few days. I wonder if they clarified some of the bugs and the inconsistent frame rate issues.
Cheers!

Thanks for the reply. Alright, maybe I will try out one of the custom roms. Any suggestions?
I recommend you to revisit New state. They have patched and worked hard in this short time and I really like the game now. 90 fps not available (for me at least ATM, probably its pending to be implemented in the game as a whole soon). I enjoy it more than PUBGM now, but it took quite a few matches of bot lobbys where you roam around like a zombie and get 16 kills without even focusing. Once you reach a higher rank the matches are very enjoying and competetive.

There are many custom roms out here for the 9 Pro, android 11 and 12. Most of them are very stable according to many users but for me personally, the absence of OOS camera made me stay on OOS11. I've been installing custom roms on my phones since my first android, so the urge to eff everything and just flash the latest android 12 is very real.
Most of the users are very impressed by the daily use experiences of the roms with very minimal bugs.
Paranoid android seems to be the most stable atm with a very pixel like usage experience. I'll let you know if I can gather the courage to ignore the oos cam and just flash it.
Motion graphics smoothing is another major feature which I'll miss alot if I shift to custom.

Screw customs then for now, I just updated to 12. Gonna root.

How's your experience? Any bugs? (Major/minor)
And did u flash global C.40?
Coz I have EU 9 pro and don't want to go through the hasstle of converting my current OS to global and then updating to OOS12.
I just don't know if its stable enough as a daily driver

Little rant to get it out of my chest...

Disclaimer: This is rant, a civilized one, if you disagree with me, you are welcome to illustrate me but offenses are not appreciated.
This phone is great, but it refuses to be acceptable as a daily driver.
Developers are the best people in the world, they do what they do with no return at all sometimes, but the software (the lack of a good kernel base) makes it really hard to enjoy. I could never get more than 4.5 hours of SOT on any ROM, whereas stock would give me at least 5.5; however stock software is a bad joke for the Android base and the camera output is nerve wracking...
The CDLA headphones are a must, no one likes the dongle and it seems that (due to broken kernel) no dev was able to figure out this one (clarifying again that I don't blame them). So my options are to get used to carry the dongle or to the crack and pop from the CDLA ones... hmmmmmm......
I see the exact same story as with the Amazon phone, on its time, the Amazon phone had a really good thing going here in XDA, but the bootloader was never unlocked and the momentum was lost. I had to let go on my Fire phone....
For the LePro3, many great options are at hand at the same price, I'm looking heavily right now at the LG G5 from the $200 custom rom on eBay, WAY BETTER camera (like 10X times better), about the same battery life if you compare custom ROM of LePro3 vs stock of LG G5, and I have to admit that although I dislike LG's interface, it is tolerable.
Also, the LeEco servers (including the one that supports OTAs) has been down for at least 3 days (that I have tried myself), like seriously, we know the company is nearly in bankruptcy although still having customer support working, but the fact that security updates have halted and servers are down, tells me that there is something wrong going on.
At $200 dlls that I got the phone for, it is still not worth it for *me*.
My Moto Z play was $450 with a hasselblad camera mod that I was able to sell to get $100 in return, so for $350, I would still take yet another Moto Z Play at the current price, with way lower specifications, than taking a LePro3 for $200.
Help yourself and download these apps
Power Toggles
ACDisplay
Simple Control
Fingerprint Quick Action
Pixel Launcher
Modify the DPI to 300 via ADB
Download Google Camera (2.7) , Phone, Contacts etc from APKMirror
I am enjoying all the benefits from stock ROM plus emulated stock Android experience. =D
I bought this phone at what I thought was a steal for the hardware I was getting. I knew the company was unknown in the US and would likely not support the phone for long (if at all). I've flashed many Roms and played with this phone more than any other than perhaps my Nexus 6. Its a great phone overall with pretty decent developer support. I regret nothing.

I have to agree with rivethead23 I got the Pro 3 and immediately flashed the Turbo Destroyer rom on it and have never had any regrets
I also bought an LG G6 and I found it was no upgrade to the Pro 3 and ended up returning it.
My advice is to Flash the Turbo EUI 21S v20 rom and Nova launcher with Nova Google companion and you get the best experience from this device

Pretty much this.
I'm using the phone on stock 26s, pretty heavily customized though: Magisk, Xposed, Viper, GravityBox, Tasker, stock android/Google apps like Dialer Contact Messages Calendar Keep Hangout Gmail etc., Nova Launcher with companion, PlayerPro and VLC, Brave browser... I removed all Chinese bloatware, and stock apps I don't need anymore like Contact, Message, Music, Video, Browser, Launcher, LIVE, lots of LeEco apps, etc. Disabled all stock extra memory optimizations to let Android deal with memory. Splash and bootanim without Chinese. Etc.
It works really great, battery is still really good (I often have 5 or 5.5 hours SoT at the end of the day), I customized a lot of things to make it exactly how I wanted it. So far, the best device I owned, and one of the cheapest...

It's the latest Chinese stock ROM for x720.
ALSO RANT:
Well the issue is with android itself, there is no real AOSP phone, i don't get why manufaturers just don't put AOSP on phone and be done with it, i guess target for android phones are geeks, at least this kind of android phones. I wanted dual sim phone, but now i think i will manage some woraround and go ios, as bad as it is, OS is much more polished and unified.
Even Moto with almost stock android still does not get direct google updates, it is just bad design.
BTW i use pro3 as daily, i get 8 + hours SOT with stock firmare, i managed to get ACR to work quite good, DND to work quite good, but still, default apps, like browser does not work, google integration is crap, even with launcher 3, missing pulldown is a joke and google services crash quite often so ... meh, but still better then my gs4 with new battery and lineage
Oh and also the ambient light sensors sets screen too dim for me at night, until now I had opposite problem with all the other phones i had.
I also have galaxy s7 at hand to use and in my opinion samsung android is even worse.
The main issue is there is really no Android OS, no phone with AOSP, which is only real Android OS, only ****ton of phones with more or less molested OS.
BTW my budget was 1100usd for a phone, i still chose pro3 and I still think, despite it's flaws, for me, it is best choice, which is sad, but it is reality, we can't change it, reality is reality. I will try z2 force with battery pack if they sell it officially in Czech, but I don't expect much.
Oh my I thought I was the only one with the headphone issue
Hmm my Le Pro 3 is coming soon... But I'm more likely to just sell It while it's new and make some $$$ of it. Seeing this rants and all... AOSP/lineage is a must for me, same as Oreo.
Just gonna buy OP5 to replace my Bacon. Maybe that jelly pentile so not exactly FHD, POS display won't be so bad...

These rants are about things that we would like to have on the device and are inevitable, like the fact that we knew that there was no headphone jack and that the CDLA headphones are not perfect on custom software, we knew it and still took the chance, not the phone or dev's fault.
Other than that, the phone is amazing, you should give it a go, I don't think you can get too much money out of it, this is the wrong phone to re-sell for higher.
Also, you have a very specific example from other people in this thread, which is, you might like stock software which gives you the best battery life for the device.

I pretty OK with using adapter, no problem with me. I ordered it from China so when it gets to Europe it is worth more. I certainly would not lose money on it.
The only things that worry me are uncertain future of Oreo on this device and overall stability. I currently manage over 4 hours SOT with my OnePlus One.... Why this thing with 4070 Mah (thousand f-ing more) does 4.5 H or slightly more ? With newer SoC, screen etc. Stock software is a no-go for me. Android 6.0 is a no-go for me. So I rely on custom ROMs and dev support. At least dev support here is great!
Coming from Nexus and Nexus 5x, I was used to having so many roms and kernels. Getting LP3 was a big big jump and I did not like it in early days when no roms were available.
Now with more than enough roms and solid kernels, I do not miss anything. Omni Rom gives me 9 hrs of screen on time for my usage. It does not feel/act different than roms I used before.
The only problem was the camera performance. But with Google Camera port, that is no longer a problem now.

i love one plus 7T

who else love it
I thought there was gonna be a "but" on the text lol. I do love it too, I came to this phone from a Pocophone and the only thing i miss is the custom ROMs development on the Oneplus 7T.

I came from pocophone too. Lack of development is kinda disappointing, and i recently saw that delevopers said "TWRP may never come because of the new partition layout on android 10".

Don't know if it's never gonna come or devs just haven't had the time to work on it. I read on their blog that the primary dev was having his child born and coudn't work on it. Also if I'm not mistaken the only phones with Android 10 out of the box as of right now are the Pixel 4 series and the Oneplus 7T series so not a lot to work on. Wait until Xiaomi, Samsung and more brands release Android 10 by default and I think development of TWRP on this new kind of partition system is gonna get more attention. That is why I'm hopeful that development for this phone can get more attention "soon-ish".
I like it alot wish there was more development tho
If google would just make something this quality i would buy one of their phones already. I was dissapointed in the looks of the pixel 4. They cheaped out on their components to maximize profits and its obvious. I have been mostly happy with the oneplus 7t but it has had some serious quirks too. I have had to reset mine several times and I am dealing with gps issues constantly.
I mostly love my OnePlus 7t. Though it has some issues. That need addressed. Also the lack of customization options is irritating coming from a custom ROM standpoint.
Love my 7T
Can't wait for TWRP to de-google this phone, but outside of that I totally love it. Although, to be fair this is my very first 'smart' phone so I really have nothing to compare it to. I think it's pretty damn great, actually.
Love the phone? hate the lack of development for it ?
I like it but will definitely hold off on next purchase to make sure development is more active. Luckily oxygen os is pretty decent, but still leaves a lot to be desired.
Can you guys tell me, what exactly you lack of for customization features? No offense, just out of curiosity.
I am flashing all of the devices in my household since the HTC desire days, like for the past 5..6..7 years or so... Constantly looking for the optimal ROM for me or my fiance's use case, tinkering with custom kernels, governer settings, blocking wakelocks... Whatsoever.
This is the first device I am happy with while it is just unlocked and rooted witch only a 1 magisk module active. For me android and OSS has come such a long way that all I build in aftermarket is now integrated in stock. Now it is just rooted, debloated and adfree. That's it for me. Although I somehow miss the long nights of flashing and trying out multiple stuff one after another, but also life gets more serious and time consumable so it's ok for me. I guess same for most of the gurus from the old days.. lol
I now can do my hobby more or less for a living, so no need to do it in my free time anymore...
What do you guys think? Is it just my feeling that the development branch somehow radically changed?

I love this phone I installed Omni via adb and never looked back. I really want to get a lineage build on it but the builds I tried to make are very broken.

I agree. Since I left HTC (the M9 being he last one) I have not had the need to flash a custom ROM. Was on a Nokia 8 previously and the vanilla-ish android was good. I only missed the weather clock and mail app from HTC - but they are going down sadly so had to jump ship. Left Nokia as they launched too many phones and were not fixing bugs on their ex-flagships - promised to fixed their camera app but never came for example.
With the 7T I have to say I hardly have any complaint. Customisations are great and the phone is amazing. Adjusting the bokeh blur (live bokeh) would have been great even if it was after taking the photo but nothing else to complain about to be fair.
I do miss the old late nights flashing ROMS though - but like you say, life is different now. I haven't even rooted the Nokia and 7T! haha

Hi, I also came from Poco F1. Amazing phone. Took me a while to get use to OP7T even thought it is better in many ways. I bought it new for 300 pounds and then after a year on October 2019 I found a deal like hell and bought a new OP7T for 360 pounds. Amoled display was the biggest advantage I noticed for the first time. Later I could not even look on the Poco F1 display and before I was astonished by the quality of the LCD panel. I got so much used to the face unlock on F1 cause it was so freaking fast and precise even at complete dark. That and the fast fingerprint scanner is another think I missed for a while. But eventually I get used to the in-display one (but they still could add one more on the back cause it is the perfect place for it). Also that I was so used to the MIUI, the environment was kind of weird for me. But with little bit of tweaking and setting up Nova launcher, which I have been using already for like 8 years anyway, helped a lot. And I even found some tweaks I could not do in MIUI. But like you mentioned, there were so much variety of ROMs and hell I like rooting, flashing and stuff like this. There is also one function I found only in MIUI and which helped me a lot when I came lazy like hell from night shift home and that is that you could mirror your screen to smart TV, lets say play a sitcom or whatever, and minimize it on the device itself so I could be on FB, YT, even play a games and not disturb media streaming to my TV. I wish Oneplus add this feature in future.

Looking to buy the A3 in 2021. Thoughts?

Hey there
A bit late to the party here. I am looking to get a A3 to replace my current phone. I have a POCO M2 PRO as my current phone, however i am VERY dissatisfied with it. Look into the A3 cuz its the only small phone i was able to find. Lemma know if this is a good idea. Oh and if you know about any small/compact/comfortable phone that doesn't break the bank, let me know in the comments.
peace✌
If you are going to flash a rom on it right away then go ahead, using this phone stock is like alpha testing.

I also bought this phone in 2021 based on the very same reasons as yours. This is the only phone I could find with decent dev support (easy to unlock, root, custom roms to choose etc.), size (I was using an Xperia X Compact, so size is still an issue for me but there wasn't any smaller with comparable features.) and specs. I unlocked and flashed los with microg even before putting my sim card. (And the sad story is this is the second one I bought bucause I lost the first one second day )
Using stock since fall 2019, works great until today, would buy again.
Go with another one.
In my experience, a11 stock is very good. 2 days without full charge and 8-9 hours of SOT. Smooth and fast. The secret is optmize the app configuration. Remove useless app. But first... Don't use official Facebook app. Obviously it's my opinion and my experience. But i'm quite sure that the user with bad experience. Are user with bad use of your device. And my phone stats can confirm what i say

In my opinion, if I had to change my Mi A3 now, I'd go with a Motorola Moto G 5G Plus, which has more or less the same A3 stuff, with a better display, 5g, better battery but it's also slightly bigger and heavier.
The only thing I don't know is about the software, on the xda page there are very few threads and nobody's talking about major problems with software, I might give it a try if I get sick with Xiaomeme software updates

That motorola has an IPS screen with SD765, so not really comparable
But I think this 720p AMOLED screen is crappy (EVEN if it makes this phone faster), but you cannot find a decent 1080p at the smallish 70-72mm width that's not costing an arm and a leg (Sony Xperia 5).
Wait 7 days for the new Poco.
I think that mi a3 is one of the best mid range phone... So i will change it... Only for an high range phone... Probably a pixel... Or a top xiaomi... Also oppo seems very good phones...

How were you able to get good battery life on stock Android 11? Please help me. The battery life sucks on Android 11 on this phone.
Sometimes the ota updates are not successful. So an hard reset can solve much problems. I don't use fingerprint and always on display because drain a lot of battery... I have disabled much of Google apps that are not indispensable for my use... I have limited the background use for some apps... With this optimization i'm very satisfied. But are specific s for my use (social+music streaming... And sometimes YouTube vanced). I hope my post can help you (i'm italian so my English is not perfect)

If you read through the support page of the red magic 5 and the rwd magic 3, you'll get an idea into what your paying for.
Almost non existinal software support outside of china. Some games like Pubg stop working on basically every update (of pubg) Nubia are months behind in fixing those bugs.
The 5s is over 5 months behind in updates, and still don't have Android 11.
Some software bugs like setting default apps for things like certain links to open in apps,
Reddit, youtube etc dont work.
The sd888 is currently over heating in every model of phone made with it. With exception of the RM6 but only if you use the Ice dock while gaming. So expect to need to buy that additional accessory to get the best performance out of the device. Or if not expect it to over heat a few minutes into any heavy high graphic / demanding game.
Sure maybe after some months of bug fixes it may be better, but yoy only need to read the 5s/5s unofficial support page to read how many things have been done and what people have been dealing with since buying Nubia's last phone.
... Personally im very happy with my purchase. RM5s with latest stock rom is solid. I dont play pubg so i dont care about the people moaning about it. Everyrhing else seems to run very well, with exception to the default apps selection not saving your choices to always open in this app, its a beast of a phone.
Sd888 overheating and using way more power than the 865, for almost the same performance for me personally is not worth it.
But if you do decide to to go for the RM6, good luck. Don't say you were not warned whwn something is not right and you get a cold shoulder from nubia support. Good prediction, Android 12 is get released for the chinese varient, but global will be left behind.
Like the series 3 and currently series 5.
There are rumors that android 11 will release for series 5 soon. But series 3 global is still over 11 months behind china and 2 versions of android behind china.
Expect to be ignored as soon as the next nubia device is announced.
I already got one, with CN rom, unfortunately. I'm waiting for the global rom right now.
Currently, the phone have a few annoying issues:
1. Vanced YouTube does not work consistently
2. Locked launcher
3. E-sports handle does not work in several games, e.g. LOL WildRift
4. FFBE WoTV quits randomly
5. Overheating issue is real
That being said, the screen, sc888's performance, and the charging speed are the saving grace of this flawed device, love dat screen and the snappiness. Whether or not those would justify your purchase, your call.
I already put it on secondhand market, but if no one takes it, I won't get salty ...too much.

You have to wait for the ROM update. In order to solve the problems you mentioned above Are you my customer in Thailand?
I've got one and I'm playing PUBG Mobile, Arena of Valor and Genshin Impact.
It's Chinese ROM but easy to install Play store by apk file, and remove all Chinese apps. Play store work perfectly, with Play Protect. I even think this is an global ROM.
It had not any issues, at least for 3 days I've been using it.
Just preordered, was between this or the rog phone 5.
I like to try new manufacturers so never having tried red magic before was a factor. The 2 biggest negatives for me on the red magic 6 is that the 5g is only for china (no NA 5g bands), and official rom support, mentioned above in better detail. Would have also liked to see 2 front facing speakers as the downward one will be blocked by vice style gamepads. But are these things worth double the price for the rog phone 5? Since I went with the red magic the answer for me is no. Since I'm mostly on wifi the 5g isn't a deal breaker. In general I'm usually not in a situation where my mobile bandwidth speeds are the bottle neck in enjoying an experience, like streaming music.
For me the most important part is the gpu/888 chipset and high refresh. Check and check. Getting the cyberpods for free ($50) and free shipping was nice too.

Technically you could change it. But it wont change the bands you will have available to you. Rm6 uses the exact same 5G bands as the RM5. Chinese rom also comes with uninstallable bloatware, loads of data tracking apps, locked launcher, and a bunch of other limited features. If its anything like Android 10 on the 5 series.
Many many people in the UK and parts of europe have 5g connectivity issues with the 5g/5s so dont expect 5g to work and if it does, it will work poorly unless you're basically standing next to the tower.
Overall, chinese roms may get updated, but they will be bogged down with limted features (that you cant even use outside of China) and forced apps.
Not to mention, if the modem fikes happen to get flashed at the same time it could cause connectivity issues on all bands and networks.
The potential to really **** up is high.
But as i said above if you really want to see what you'd be getting yourself into nust read through the issues and software bugs on the support pages for the 5 series and 3 series device.
Its a pretty clear possible future, since Nubia has so far been doing the same thing as they did with the series 3 devices.

I think it is, especially if you're into custom ROMs and rooting and so forth, as the 10 Pro scene hasn't gotten to that point as of this writing; there's lots of fretting and hand-wringing in the 10 Pro forum about it. I picked up a refurbished one last month from Amazon and am tickled pink with it (I'm keeping my trusty 7 Pro as a backup). In fact, the first thing I did was load my custom-built LineageOS fork (which I had already built in anticipation) onto it, as there was no way I was going to stay on OxygenOS beyond using it to OEM unlock the phone.
Hey guys,
Just received a used 9 Pro LE2123 and I got it without any battery juice.
I am using the warp charger that is from this model and I noticed that the charging is super slow.
It came with Android C61 and I let it update to C62, if this plays any role.
Any ideas about what is happening?
Download OOS 11 Firmware from Oneplus Website and Flash it using Local Update App and format the device. Then upgrade into newest Version via OTA.

Why to do this?
The device was factory resetted when I got it.
Because you've literally no idea what the last user had flashed to it, or had messed around with.

Making Custom ROMs isn't my issue. The problem with 10 pro for me is not be able recover if got hardbricked (which I will do eventually) . We don't have any official stores in our country. And online services isn't really my thing. 10 Pro is 10$+ then 9 pro here. Still want to buy 9 pro over 10 pro cz of MSM mostly.

I guess after unlocking the bootloader and the full erase of data it should be fine.
op9pro could be a good phone for people living on social-media (nowadays the street-price is half of official price)
if you are flashotic or privacy-caring it's better thinking a bifferent device
Had mine for around 15 months, LE2123 it took a major hit when it went from a11 to a12. I'm completely stock and not modified in anyway. Overall I have been happy with the phone, I know it was expensive near launch but it's managed well so far. I've blocked all advertising by putting all my traffic through pihole and it's been good. Played a few games on boost mode and it's incredibly slick. I've seen in the latest version c62 you can use storage as ram also. Really love the camera, it has t's fault but most settings can be disabled ( like AI etc) and I am tempted to move to gcam.

Current device is still OnePlus 9Pro 8gb. LE2123 c62. (UK)
Finally rooted and cloned all my 146 apps from my previous OP6 phone and everything runs flawlessly.
Battery is great, the phone is super fast and it has a very good and fast camera.
My only concern is that some notifications are not coming up on time, so some apps need further check to fix this issue.

Don't use Gmail app. I personally use Sugar mail and never missed any emails.
The 9 Pro continues to hold its own! Actually it's still pretty popular!
Personally in the US its one of the few options left available for those who like to really customize their devices. With spectacular battery life on customs (I've had mine about a month and get 8h SOT with some light gaming casually). I mean it doesn't get much better than this! Sure during heavy tasks it can get a little hot but that is slightly improving with OOS12 firmware. It will still reach those peak temps but seemingly not as fast. I got mine from Amazon as well for about $750 USD quite the deal! Using this device has be quite the pleasure. I'm definitely happy on Crdroid with BluSpark kernel. And since OOS has dropped the ball it means that OOS12 based custom roms will get nice custom kernel support which isn't normally there for a long time. Looking forward to the future of this phone!
No, stick with a phone that has good stock firmware. Oos is buggy af and is getting more and more like chinese bloat.
I would suggest a pixel over it (maybe 7?)

Except that Pixel phones have a lot of problems of their own, including the firmware, and there's no reason to believe that the 7 series will be any different given Google's recent track record. Pixel vs 9 Pro is just one set of issues versus another at this point. But, if one wants to delve into custom ROMs, both are good in that department (disclaimer: I don't follow the custom ROM scene for Pixel phones so I'm not as familiar with it as I am the OnePlus line).

Pixels have lacking support compared to what it used to be with the Nexus line up. There is some interest but it's mostly unofficial support that doesn't last for long and its nothing that you can rely on like with the OnePlus phones

The biggest problem that puts people off the Pixels right now is the Samsung SoC and modem. Stupid decision on Google's part.
