Help - how to repair international Galaxy Nexus bought on dailysteals

I purchased Galaxy Nexus in dailysteals.com a month and a half ago when it was on sale for $460 (prior to google play availability) and yesterday it refused to power on from power off mode.
I did standard steps (recharge, battery out, sim card out, press and hold power, etc) countless times but the phone does not respond.
It only responds to charger in a sense that it shows charging signal but the phone still not powering on.
The phone might have gotten wet 2 days ago from rain when it was in my shorts, otherwise I have no explanation for this breakdown.
So I called Samsumg USA where I live and they asked for IMEI and they said this IMEI does not show in their system and advised to call Poland Samsung.
I called Poland Samsung (appears that dailysteals had Polish region version) but they have menuy on Polish and I cannot navigate it.
I called UK Samsung which is supposed to serve EU but they said since I reside in US and bought it from US reetailer Samsung USA should serve me (I explained I have been through it but this was no good).
I called dailysteals but they obviously do not respond, their reputation on Web reviews is not giving me any hope.
I feel going full circle for warranty and stuck. Did anyone succeed getting warranty service for international phone imported by apparently non-authorized reseller? What about non warranty service, I assume repairing it is cheaper than buying a new one, since screen and everything is supposed to work...
Any option for repair before selling it for parts like screen on ebay which I presume works OK?

How wet did it get? If it is moisture or water damage, then i would say sell it for parts but you might still have hope. I would suggest taking it down to a local cell phone store and ask them to run some diagnostics or open the device and check for burnt or damaged areas from the water.
Good luck to you.
Spent hours with Samsung on the phone today. They have assured me there is no place that would service it in the US on warranty and off warranty, Not a good situation as European Samsung also flatly rejected my request.
I gave up on repair and will try to file Purchase protection water damage with Amex. If this does not work will sell for parts to someone who needs screen and other staff, amazing that one cannot get it serviced anywhere in the world except maybe Poland and I do not speak Polish to navigate their voice menus (called there too).

Well you bought a grey market European device. Samsung USA does not have to service it because its a Euro device, and Samsung Europe doesn't have to service it because you're trying to file the claim from the USA.
Unfortunate but this was widely known when you bought the device. This is why buying from a reputable importer that is willing to help with warranty is important.

galaxy note 2 help

Hi all i think ive bought a duff note 2 my phone has 5gb internal memory, null imei, factory test mode is showing twice on start up,power button when pushed turns off the phone without any options,no imei sticker so all i can find is the serial number using root explorer... i opened up the phone and its missing the flexi cable antenna and has no where for the antenna flex cable to fit on to.. any ideas does anyone know how much a new motherboard would cost and where in the uk i can get one.. also if take this to a samsung repair centre how would i stand
anyone??
Where did you buy it from - give us a link.
And why don't you just return it?
Seriously I think you bought a fake Note (2). There are TONS of MADE IN CHINA copycat phones sold here in HK (most likely online and eBay listings). The exterior looks 95% exact as original Samsungs but when you turn it on, you can tell immediately with the low resolution of the display and the awful looking UI. They should be banning them for being sold....just like those fake LV/Gucci stuff. What a shame.
its deff a genuine note 2 the resolution on the screen is spot on and i can even flash firmwares, roms, root etc i was wondering if i have a prototype note 2 that was used for testing also i got the phone from ebay uk
why don't you just return it?
The person i got it from who was selling it on ebay doesn`t want to know.. this is a pic of the mainboard
pic 2
anymore info about my phone
Call Samsung and offer them their prototype back in exchange for a final release one.
Beamed from Jupiter on my Galaxy Note II
Theres someone else on ebay with the same phone as mine with 5gb internal memory and they are calling it a test model but when i phoned samsung they said they didn`t make test phones for the n7100 confused.com
You need to raise a claim with PayPal/eBay.... But first thing the seller will say is that you have opened the phone and any warranty with them is void
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk (how ironic is that eh)
Did the seller say there was a problem with it?
If not it's not as described and you should raise it with eBay.
How much did you pay for the device?
it was for sale on ebay uk but like a idiot to save on postage i met up half way and swapped my new s3 for it so nothing ebay can do about it. did send the person who had it a message via ebay but he`s not interested..

Sorry for you. I think you have learned an expensive lesson.
once bitten twice shy as they say.. if i could get hold of a logicboard for my n7100 i`d have a perfectly working phone but can`t find one anywhere :crying:

When buying a new one.....have a look here too:
http://10division.com/must-read-sam...-n7100-clone-vs-original-ultimate-comparison/
since your box will probably be sealed when you receive (can you return it when opened??) look at the imei check part, you can even scan the imei number which is on the sealed box with the app from the PlayStore
dunno if i'm using the correct valuta (INR?) but for where i live (Netherlands, Europe, Euro) i would highly doubt this device is the real thing, i'm picking up my new note 2 tomorrow for €449,= which is equal to about INR 31.630. I think i made a good deal with a thrust worthy dealer, but still gonna check the imei.
But don't shoot me.....prices can vary alot between continents.
Either its used or its not Note 2
You sure you read Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and not just Galaxy Note 2 ?
Check this out :-
http://www.kaunsa.com/Detail/5187/5-5-inch-Android-4-0-5-Dual-Sim-3G-Galaxy-NOTE-II-32GB.html
These are fake Chinese products keep the name similar to fool the customers.
I'm sure you could have seen that coming, but seriously, make sure your box seal is intact and ofcourse the phone will have a
temporary screen cover(with specs of the phone written all over it) and laminated back.
And make sure you have the Indian warranty card signed in or atleast the Bill is intact.

Impossible to get a replacement front screen for Nokia 8 Sirocco in US

I just bought a new condition Nokia 8 Sirocco for review purposes and then planned on reselling it, of course I dropped it first day I got it (luckily with the case on), but unluckily it shattered the front glass. Touch seems to work just fine however, BUT...
Nokia won't sell me the part or help me at all since I'm not in the same country as where it is available from their website.
I tried ordering parts through a cellphone repair store authorized with Nokia, and even called and emailed places in both the UK and Canada that were authorized Nokia repair stores, and they are unable to get me the part or repair it for me even if I pay shipping there and back as well as for the repair and part.
The one website I found that sells the part for a very reasonable 400 rs (5-6 usd) only ships within India.
I've wasted so much time trying to figure out how to just get the part, much less have it repaired. If anyone has any ideas, suggestions, or can help me out I'd be incredibly grateful, or if you can sell me the part directly that would work as well.
Thanks for your time !
Front Screen for Nokia 8
China is the main source of cell phone parts. So, I think you should try "Aliexpress". And they can deliver your product in the USA.

hi wiederganger,
i just bought a N8S with cracked screen, too good a price to not, i'd seen an ad via google for replacement screens for £69.99 in UK so thought id get it fixed easily, but when i got the phone i checked out the company on trust pilot, it is a scam, all bad reviews nothing good. I got in touch with nokia uk, they quoted £303GBP (about $400USD) for the repair, i can get new glass put in a samsung S8 for £70, so they are way over pricing it and withholding parts deliberately. i tweeted this info out, maybe they'll wake up as nobody would buy one if they realised the screen replacement cost. imho if they make things that break so easily they should be forced to supply replacement parts by law. or use a better screen that can be dropped, we all drop phones once in a while.
anyway i also searched around for glass only. everywhere in china i can find (aliexpress mainly) sells the whole LCD assembly for about $150USD, which is an option if all else fails. 1 place in india has screen only. again a hassle to get it sent overseas. but first ill wait a while, im sure the parts will become available. luckily this phone is usable as is, ill eventually fix it and sell it before i break the screen then buy another smasung because too much hassle to get parts for nokia. similar to apple who deliberately withhold parts also. just dont buy from these companies. i wont buy anything from nokia again. ill let you know how i get on.
Hi, I dropped my Sirocco 8 in December and the glass was toast but the screen worked okay. I bought it in the UAE and have since moved to Malaysia.
Nokia in Malaysia wouldn't touch it and told me that I'd need to send to the country of purchase for repair. I'm not keen on the idea of sending the phone back to the UAE so I too found the company in the UK (QMF) and have sent the phone to them. They've now told me that they cannot obtain the parts so I'm now scouring the web in the hope that someone can fix this phone for me. I loved this phone and if I'd known the trouble I'd have to get it repaired, I would have either not bought it or wrapped it in cotton wool!
If anyone has any luck with getting their phone repaired, I would appreciate if they could share details.
Have a good one.
I sent my N8S to the said repair shop for £69.99 to replace the screen -3 weeks ago. Today, they sent me an email wanting another £180 more for the LCD replacement. I told them to cancel the repairs and refunds will be 30 days.

S20 ultra trade in question

I preordered the S20 ultra unlocked from samsung.com right when it went live. I have an issue though, anybody here have any experience with the trade in and the fcc id?? I broke my rear glass panel on my S10+ and can have it replaced by ubreakifix which is the Samsung authorized repair center here but it would no longer have the fcc id written on the bottom of the rear glass. It is in the settings, about phone. Am I out of luck with this?? I read somewhere an Iphone 8 user traded theirs in and wrote it on a note and attached it to the back of the phone and they accepted it since Apple took the fcc id off the back glass since the Iphone 7 according to the user. I contacted Samsung support and they couldn't confirm anything on this issue other than to try it and see. Not really wanting to just try it to chance if I can help it. Or would I be better off getting an insurance replacement and avoiding it altogether?
