Hello few days ago the phone upgraded to the latest android 12
After it restarted and started i found that the usb port is working as charging only no data
Tried recovery mode, bootloader mode still 3 laptops can’t detect it
4 type c cables still nothing just charging
Otg nothing
Anyone can help identify the issue?
Did you get a fix for this?

Hi guys.
As the title suggest I've run into a USB brick with my Desire HD. I don't know how and can't remember when but it was well after I was flashing custom roms. Basically when I plug it into any PC with any cable it says "USB device not recognized". The phone thinks it's just charging (charges fine otherwise both on PCs and with the normal AC adapter). When I'm in fastboot or hboot it won't say it's in USB mode either.
When I try using Fastboot and ADB on my computer it just says there are no devices connected. I've tried many roms, both with Sense and without going from gingerbread all the way up to ICS and JB with no luck.
I cannot find any solution to this problem anywhere and was just wondering if someone stumbled upon a fix?
My thanks in advance.
Huzi.
[Update]
Plugged it into the USB 3.0 port on my brother's laptop. It turned the phone off. Turned it on and it started installing drivers and it works on there. Haven't tried it out on anything else yet as I'm backing up the files. It turned off the phone and installed it on my computer but didn't work last night. I guess I'll try again once all 11GB are copied over

Same things happening on my one XL. this post is ancient For mine even using RUU doesn't work it goes like device unplugged/cannot be found or something similar. ill try usb 3.0 when i get back to my desktop but this kinda sucks. I just had it repaired days ago.
Hi,
I have this device for more than 1 year now. Since the beginning, I'm using a custom ROM. Recently, I upgraded to the latest firmware version. Few days after the upgrade, I encountered the following charging/usb connection problem:
Connected to wall socket but the charging is always in USB mode
When the cable is unplugged from the phone. the battery status is NOT CHARGING (not Discharging)
When connected to a PC (with drivers installed), no USB device is detected. The phone is only charging.
I've already tried multiple solutions but they didn't solved the issue. Here is the list of that I tried:
All methods here have been done: http://www.danrichard.com/2013/06/1...nect-to-pc-via-usb-with-unknown-device-error/
Dialing *#7284#, I already tried setting UART to both modem/PDA and USB to PDA. Still, the PC did not detect the device.
Qualcomm USB Settings was set to MTP + ADB by typing this into the Terminal Emulator su -c 'am start -n com.sec.android.app.phoneutil/com.sec.android.app.phoneutil.USBSettings'. The method is from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1946915
Replace the data/charger cable and the charger itself (bought a new samsung charger)
None of the solutions worked for me. Can someone help me in this issue, please?
Thank you.
Anyone?

Android 4.3 has no uart support, that is the problem. I have the same problem as you mate. 4.1.2 rooted and write imei with uart cable ( i use nspro). >everyting is OK! My phone works Perfekt.
At 4.3 i try the same thing on stock rom. ( I have signal , baseband is ok) but no registering on network, only emergenycalls.
So i tried to repair with Write imei from nspro... but after connecting uart...nothing happens. Chanching modem usb setting does nothing. So Actually know i am looking for a rooted 4.3 rom with uart support.
I was trying to transfer some files to my phone through a USB cable today, but the phone was not recognized by the PC at all (Even though it was working a week or so ago). I had some issues before with the cable needing to be still in a certain position or it would disconnect from the PC, so I tried using another USB cable which didn't work either (I tested both USB cables with another device, and both cables were working and the other device was recognized by the PC).
I also updated the USB drivers on my PC with the official drivers on the ASUS support page, and tried putting my phone in fastboot and recovery mode, but both were still not being recognized by my computer. My phone still charges properly, but I am wondering if the USB port got damaged somehow so that it can't connect to a PC anymore?

uninstall and reinstall the drivers. Ensure that phone is not connected during the process.
also have you upgraded your pc os ? if yes then its a little cumbersome to get the same working...
i changed from stock to cm, it is showing well now ... using RR now
Is your phone encrypted? If so you need to unlock in order for your pc to recognize it.
Thank you both of you for the help, unfortunately, my phone was not encrypted so there was no need to unlock in order for it to be detected. Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers didn't work, and my PC was already on windows 10 since a few months ago. I would also prefer sticking to the stock ROM for this phone for now since they keep coming out with updates.
In addition, I tried using a USB OTG cable to see if the phone could detect the USB drive and my phone couldn't (it has worked before, and my old Galaxy Nexus could still detect it). I also tried plugging my dualshock 3 into the phone, and it also couldn't be detected (also had worked before).
It looks like it's actually a hardware issue and my only option is to RMA it now. I'll have to do it at a time when I don't need my phone as much or when I am not as busy.
PS: In case anyone else has this issue in the future, quick charging also no longer works
zenfone2 I also experienced that, and I have tried several ways, but remains unchanged. I was dizzy today :crying:
Hey guys, I've searched for the same problem and it seems that nobody had the same problem.
So like many of us the usb port only charge while off.. but I can go into bootloader and use fastboot which means non-sense...
Does someone have an idea of what I can do before I buy a replacement?
EDIT: I've done the *#*#4636#*#* secret code, went under battery info and it doesn't detect the charging plug.
Thanks
Cordially,
baskwo

Grab a paperclip and scrape the dust from the bottom of the micro usb plug. They look like they are clean, in reality they are not.
Are you running stock 4.3? Try if the charger gets detected in recovery mode (e.g. TWRP).
Does USB work in Android (PC connection)
Before I post my problem I had change the micro usb part so it's brand new :/ (I tried to clean it tho)
It is not stock because as it was not working I tried CM with its custom kernel and no luck.
Usb does not work in recovery mode but it works in bootloader as fastboot device!
THanks for your answer your help is appreciate!
USB only works in fastboot mode

Your problem seems simular to what I had.
If you are sure the software settings are ok and that doesnt work, remove the backcover remove the battery connector, put it back again and see if that works. Does charging work?

Thats weird my s2 tablet has USb problems to. It stopped reading OTG usb connections and the PC. However it is always able to charge. I have noticed that when it does finally read on the PC it seems like the drives dont switch right and my battery wont charge. It got to the point I dont even try to plug it into a pc or USB otg just incase it quits charging I have SD card and twrp for installs so I use that instead. Most be a problem with the usb port and drivers.

I dont know the answer nor the solution.
What I noticed however is that I used my tablet as an monitor for an USB web cam.
The problem (charging but not being able to connect to PC) started AFTER I removed the webcam.
The app I use (USB Camera Pro) has an option "remove camera safely"
If I use that option everything works fine but if I remove the cam cable without pressing this option I cant connect to my PC anymore and have to unplug the battery.
I am having a similar issue and would be grateful for help. My Tab T815 has a clean install of the latest Android 10 Rom and Pico Gapps via TWRP 3.4. All seem to be working great apart from the USB OTG. Specifically, I am trying to connect my DJI Mini drone controller and it's not registering it plugged in. I also have Android 10 on a galaxy S5 and have no issues at all when I connect the DJI controller to the phone. I have run a diagnostic app that says OTG is compatible with the T815 so am now at a loss on what to try next. Could this be an issue with the Rom?
