I have a notification from Google that says 'Downloading'. When I try to find what specifically is showing it, it says Data Download Notification Channel. I'd prefer to just figure out why it's there and be able to fix the issue, and not just hide the notifications from that one specific thing. Anyone hav any ideas how?

I know this doesn't give you what you want, but I would just chalk it up to a one-off quirk. I would expect rebooting would likely get rid of it, and hopefully, it wouldn't return, at least not regularly.

Rebooting does temporarily get rid of it but it comes back pretty soon after reboot. So I don't think it's a one off unfortunately.
Edit: my mobile data signal just went to like one bar and the notification went away. When I drove into a better signal area it came back.

Does anyone know why I'm getting a Google Downloading notification so many times a day, and you can't clear them either, without disabling every notification in settings. It doesn't give any clue as to what's being downloaded. When I tap & hold...

Same here.
I've had this numerous times. Go into Apps and force stop the Google app. It makes it go away permanently. Or at least until next time it happens.
Just use wifi network for few minutes. Google has some updates to do in background. So that it keeps coming.
You can try below 2 other solutions if you like.
1. Turn off data download notification in settings.
2. Update the offline voice.
Open Google app > Top profile > Settings > Voice > offline voice Recognition > Languages > update.

This worked flawlessly for me. Thank you.

Stock Tilt2. Every now and then there will be a bubble notification on the top of the screen, and when I tap on it the Notifications screen that comes up shows (underneath Medianet and battery) simply an exclamation point inside a circle, with no accompanying text. Clicking on it does nothing, and Dismiss All doesn't remove it. I have to soft reset to get rid of it.
Any ideas? (Other than flashing a new ROM! I'm actually perfectly happy with the stock ROM.)
This problem is happening on two separate Tilt2s, both with stock AT&T ROM; any ideas? Screenshot attached.

If that cab does not fix it, are you running ActiveSync with Exchange?
I had a similar issue with my old phone. It was a problem with my account on the exchange server. I had to have my profile recreated.
No I dont use exchange. I have read around here others having the issue as well though.
I've only experienced with issue with cooked roms. The stock Verizon 6.1 rom never displayed that issue. Unfortunately, I've yet to find the cause.
Thanks for the help with this. I actually am using Exchange. I was using 2007 and updated to 2010 since posting (which involved rebuilding my mailbox), and haven't had the problem since. So perhaps it was that, but I'll post again shortly with an update after I've had some time using it.

Dagordon,
I think its a defect on some of the phones they rolled out. I called HTC support, and they did not have a solution. Good thing for me is that the phone was less than 30 days old. The guy at the dealership took it back with no questions asked when I showed it to him.
I would think that your only option is what you mentioned above (flashing it with stock ROM).
Damn. The problem persists, even with a new Exchange setup. And the fixunreadcount program doesn't fix it -- it'll run successfully but the empty notification will remain.
So rfrancoi, you're saying that this problem only happens on some Touch Pro 2/Tilt2s, as in a different one might not have the problem?
So today I applied a couple of updates and I "think" that Beautiful Widgets was the last prior to seeing "Geolocation Problem: Location does not exist"

What the deuce!!!! Never have had to do that before.
Thanks for letting me know najaboy, would have never figured out the reason. Would have fixed it without knowing as I use maps all the time, just wouldn't have known what fixed it.
OK, spoke to soon. It didn't pop up but this time I got an explanation somewhat... Still don't know how to fix it:
I just got this message for the 1st time (traveling on business). I just closed this message, and it picked up the right location immediately. I have it on airplane mode during the day since I can't get signal where I am during the day, so the phone + GPS might have been in a confused state.
I got the message once yesterday, and now since 3am EST It keeps giving me this error message. Even with GPS on AND opening Google Maps.
PS - Also, I read on Androidforums something about checking the alternate geocoder, but that option is greyed out for me.
PPS - I changed from Accuweather to Google Weather and it seems to be working now.
I have the same issue .. switching to GOOGLE for weather seems to fix the issue but I dont think it is providing the correct location as accuweather did
any fix?
Interesting, never seen that...I kinda want it to happen just to be like, ha, I don't exist right now.
I have the same problem with something fix for me
First of all I'm sorry for my English as I'm from Thailand
I got the exactly same problem and I tried many way to fix it out and what is work for me is
I go to application, Manage Application, and clear the Data for Beautiful Widget
Then I remove the home widget and Add the beautiful home widgets again and set the weather service for Accuweather then thing just come up and the problem just fixed
This is work for me.
Cheers
This is a year old thread bud, safe to say this isn't a common problem.
I have already posted about this in my Google+ profile, but Twitter notifications have not been working for quite a long time on my Galaxy Nexus, across a wide variety of AOSP based ROMs. Whenever I try to change my notification settings, I get the message "there was a problem updating notification settings".
Anyone else experience this or know how to fix it? I've already tried clearing out all my partitions and stuff, and as an FYI, I always do a full wipe before installing any ROM.

Notifications have been broke for me also mate. Frustrating as hell, in addition when I tweet and go @ it does not load my full list of contacts.
Edit: btw when this became an issue someone suggested removing and adding my acct again and this did work temporarily. Maybe you can give it a try, might help you.
FYI, the solution was given to me. Turns out you have to sign out of the account, revoke access to the app through Twitter.com and sign back in.

OMG it works. Thank you for this. I can't believe I failed to come across. As I said earlier wiping acct and signing in did work.
This icon has shown up recently in my notification bar and will not go away. I am struggling to find what app it is for. Any ideas?

Nothing new has been installed.
I was thinking since its showed up recently there was probable an app installed recently as well, since not.. did you maybe change any of the developer settings lately?
I'm guessing there is no additional info in the notif bar, right? cause if so, you can hold it down and select "app info" and then uncheck the "notifications tickbox". That works on any app that gives notifications you don't want, or if an app requires a persistent notification to function properly but you don't want to see the icon all the time.

You are correct. When I pull down the notification bar, there is no additional information for this icon (nor is the icon shown). I have not made any changes to my settings (that I am aware of) nor have I done anything in the developers settings...which is why this icon is throwing me for a loop.
Hmm. I cant think of anything else either, if something does come to me I will let you know. Hopefully someone else does know what that icon is for.
Mystery Solved....
Apparently my Notification Toggle App changed icons. I hate when that happens.
I have recently been having issues with Wi-Fi losing connection. I can toggle Wi-Fi on and off and it seems to come back for a while then disconnects again.
Also the Wi-Fi icon in the status bar has a small + sign in the top right corner of the icon. I've searched but cannot find out what this + sign means. Does anyone know or have similar issues?
Thanks

FYI, Ended up having to do a full factory reset. So far it looks like the problem was resolved. Wish there was an easier way but nothing else seemed to work.

What you could have tried is to factory reset the network settings (mobile and WiFi). Maybe it was solved without manufacturing everything.

Agreed. I did try to reset the network settings but it did not resolve the issue.
Greetings, I had the same problem and I tried a YouTube solution that seems to be effective.
Step 1. You go to the phone and enter the code, you look for the model of your cell phone in my case it is AT&T * # 546368 # * 820 #
Step 2. You go to Field Test.
He passed. 3 You enter Wifi Test.
He passed. 4 Click on the OTA Setting.
Step 5. Here first you give Disable and then Enable, restart and that
