Question Stock google firmware - Google Pixel 6 Pro

Hello all, I would like to find where I can get the STOCK firmware that google sends the pixel 6 pro with from the google store directly. Hope I'm posting in the correct place. I called google on the phone and also did live chat support and which both of them said that they would not send me a link for the stock firmware from the google store that they ship out with the pixel 6 pro unless I provided the correct IMEI from their store. I found this strange and I and determined that the XDA community can help me please.
Thanks in Advance

Indeed, weird. I usually just Google for:

You're welcome! And welcome to XDA!
It doesn't matter which Pixel 6 Pro variant you bought or where you bought it; only where you use it.
You want the one for the area you use your phone in. i.e. If you're in the United States, then use the one that says US Carriers. If you're in Australia use the one that says AU Carriers. If in Europe, Middle East, or Africa, choose the one that says EMEA Carriers. If you're in someplace different than all of those places, then choose the one that doesn't specify (.A1).
I have the factory unlocked P6P I bought directly from Google and I'm using it in the United States, so I'm on the 12.0.0 (SQ1D.211205.017, Dec 2021, US carriers) firmware.
Just make sure and stick to the Raven section of that webpage (Raven is the codename for the Pixel 6 Pro), and you usually want one of the ones from the most recent month at the bottom of the (Raven) list - but you probably already noticed that.
There *should* be a new update available in five days (the first Monday of every month).

No, the image that was on mine was the October update. Then there were two November updates, and finally the December update.
Do you actually want to roll the phone back to the oldest update? Also, note that these full firmware zips will by default completely wipe your phone. You can modify the flash-all.bat (assuming you're on Windows) with Notepad and remove the "-w " from the appropriate line to keep it from being wiped.
You can also use the Official Google Android Flash Tool site to flash your phone. I haven't used it before but from what others have said, I believe there's an option to keep it from wiping your phone if I remember correctly - unless you want to factory reset the phone anyway.

What are you trying to do with the image?

It's already been mentioned in the first few posts where you can obtain the rom for your specific device, but installing the one that came preloaded onto a phone makes little sense as it will require an update the minute it's powered on, since the roms are largely outdated.

So what is being said is that for example a T-Mobile or ATT Rom that comes loaded on the pixel 6 pro is the same Rom loaded from the store.google ?

SuperSU for broadband' sm-t805k/t805l/t805l

Hi, I am curious if anyone can answer this question.
I am a deliberation from obtaining the Tab S version SM-T805K/SM-T805S/SM-T805L launched in Korea with the Exynos 5433 processor. The article here explain this product: phonearena . com/news/Speedier-Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-S-with-Exynos-5433-processor-and-LTE-A-to-be-launched-soon_id61316.; this aricle has an inacccuracy probably from translation, but it supports 'broadband LTE-A', which combines three LTE bands, instead of two like the regular LTE-A for 1.5x increased throughput. Anyway, the release is similar to the Galaxy S5 'broadband LTE-A' with model number SM-G906(S/K/L)
Obviously chainfire's autoroot package for the SM-T805 doesn't work due to different processor.s However, it shares the same processor as the Note 4, so I am curious if there is a method to botain root suing existing downloads and by using TWRP. This amounts to a general question. Is root processor-specific? Does one of the root packages for Note 4 work? Or if a new root package needs to be written for the model altogether.
Please let me know your thoughts.
No the root method is not cpu specific, but it is device specific. However the TWRP method is not as long as there is a twrp version for your device that can be installed. This requires an unlocked boot loader, it's not common for Samsung to lock bootloaders. It's usually only US models that have locked bootloaders.
There is a firmware update for the SM-T805S at Samsung Updates, if you download it, extract the recovery image from it, send it to me and I'll build TWRP for your device.

Wow thank you so much! I have linked it here.
https: // drive.google. com/file/d/0B2CszRKCbxDSM0RuVHI4SHlfWTg/view?usp=sharing
Just for my own clarity, the TWRP version is not CPU or device -specific, but requires a version that can be installed; would you please care to elaborate?
Ah, there is some ambiguity in the thread.
So, the TWRP recovery itself is device specific? and then rooting can be done by sdcard method in TWRP with current version of chainfire's SuperSU zip?
Thank you.
To boot twrp or any recovery it has to be built for a device using files specific to that device such as the kernel. It has to built and configured so that the kernel can boot and then boot recovery. It needs to know the partition layout of that device and such things as the display resolution.
Ashyx is an awesome recovery builder. He built many recoveries such as a twrp mod and also twrp for snapdragon tab s. Without him, some devices may never gotten an custom recovery
I notice that the partition structure seems to be slightly different in the new version.
When you get your tablet I will need you to run a command on the device to get some info.
Hopefully then I can build it.

Just wondering, can it be done from the device itself (no ADB)? If so I can try to get someone to do this on a display model, but availability is questionable. Plus, for some reason, the SM-T805S model has mysteriously disappeared from the Samsung Korea website in the past couple weeks (http:// www.samsung. com/sec/consumer/mobile-tablet/tablet/filter/). The SM-T805K seems to be the most available.
This is the model I am most likely to get. If I got the SM-T805K is there a way to get a hand on the firmware through Kies or other means?
Could you post your commands here? Someone with the device is bound to read this forum and run the commands, but it may take a while. But who knows
Thank you for working on this! :good:
The s,k,l variable is probably just carrier variants. The actual part of the firmware I need is likely the same.

Yes, they are are carrier variants (SK Telecom, KT Olleh, LG U+).
So, does it require ADB to do? what were the commands? :fingers-crossed:
(I spose PM if needed. Thanks!)
You can run the commands on the device itself. It would be best if you have the device because the output would be quite long so a screenshot would be best.
Sorry I havent gotten back sooner. I will report back here when I get the device. :silly:
No worries
Sorry to jump in. Just one question. If the tab is designed/locked for a specific carrier, is there a way to unlock it to any carrier without changing the original ROM?
Thinking of buying this model also, however, im not from Korea!

I've read on other forums that people have used their korean-carrier device abroad with foreign sims without issue.
This si just a conjecture, but I wonder if we load a custom rom if the device would even be carrier locked anymore. If we delete the hidden.img and cache.img from the rom, if this would solve it? Also, I have seen rooted apps that claim to unlock your device. For me, I consider calling the carrier to have the device unlcoked an option as well.
Using this deivce in the United sttates it is more relevant to note the LTE bands. AT&T would be the only compatible arrier on band 17, and the network would not support LTE-A or broadband LTE-A, but LTE-A is only available in three cities as far as I know.

This forum is terrible for lag, due to all the java crap and ads running on it. The stock browser deals with it the best imo.
However I use the XDA app which provides a smoother experience.

I'm sorry to disappoint. No, I haven't. I was just thinking of getting one the next time I go. depending on the circumtances and this would give me time to do something with the 6 tablets that I currently have.
Ebay acquired a site called gmarket.co.kr a few years back where retailers in south korea sell crap online; shipping is only in-country, but the other obstacle is making payment; you owuld have to wire your funds internationally, but there are fees on top of fees depending on how many banks it has to cross separate from daily forex changes. The cost for a single unit would probably end up to be a thousand dollars. For the shipping, I know people who are among the 27,000 american military deployed over regions in south korea, and through them shipping can amount to a APO or FPO address with USPS Priority Mail.

Can I Install Global Version L29 on Chinese Version?

Hi guys,
I'm thinking about buying a chinese version of the mate 20x for cheap, much cheaper than the global version. Was wondering if its possible to buy it and then install the L29 global rom. Is this possible? If so how?
.
Not sure if possible, but i dont recommend to change the original rom.
Appreciate the reply. But since youre not sure, does anyone know if its still possible to do this?
From what I understand (reading this forum), this requires unlocked bootloader and root.

Buy Chinese version with global rom. It raises price just about 35 to 50 dollars.

I will save you some trouble. I made the mistake of buying the Chinese version because I assumed the bootloader could be unlocked and the phone could be flashed. The answer to your question is, "no - you cannot root or flash the Mate 20 X as at this time".
Huawei has locked all bootloaders for all their devices and are no longer offering unlock codes. I have been unsuccessful in unlocking my EVR-AL00.
There are a few threads in this forum and there are developers looking for a workaround but there are none at this time.
I wanted to post a quick follow-up on my previous post. The Mate 20 X Chinese version is the first non-root phone I have owned in more than 10+ years. I will say, unlike my Samsung and OnePlus phones I have not found a need for root beyond changing the default launcher. The phone is customized so you can manage DPI settings (in and outside developer mode), auto launch/keep apps running in the background and even includes a good equalizer. If you have any specific questions about the Chinese model of the EVR-AL00 then feel free to PM me. I'm happy to try answering questions.

Hi dogatemycomputer,
Appreciate the heads up. But regarding rooting the mate 20x, there are threads here that show that you can root it and flash twrp. Am I missing something?
.
Yes.
Regarding XDA’s stance on Huawei’s decision to stop bootloader unlocking
Back in April, Huawei’s form to request a bootloader unlock code mysteriously disappeared. Late May, the form returned but with a warning that the service would no longer work after 60 days. As promised, Huawei’s form is no longer available, meaning it’s no longer possible to unlock the bootloader of Huawei or Honor devices. This has obviously been disappointing to many users on our forums, but it’s been especially disappointing for us, the XDA Portal team.
https://www.xda-developers.com/xda-huawei-decision-stop-bootloader-unlocking/amp/
Basically you could unlock the bootloader until May when Huewei decided you could no longer.

If you truly had read and understood threads about this, you'd know that unlocking the bootloader is no longer possible. Huawei shut this down, unfortunately.
I researched this before purchasing, as I too wanted the least expensive version which allowed changing the default launcher. The only solution at this point is a new L29, or a used AL00 that has root. Shame that if we want to change the launcher we're limited to the 6/128 version.

1. Broken Google Location History & Sharing
2. No access to EMUI 10 beta
I use the Chinese version and there are some minor differences between the Global and Chinese version but the Chinese version has worked well for me.
Some Google services do not work. The two I have found are OK GOOGLE (always listening) and location sharing via Google Maps.
Outside of these 2 limitations I have not found a difference between the stock Chinese and Global versions. I have been very happy with my Mate 20 X and I have not found a reason to root the phone.

Thanks for your input. I think rooting may be overrated unless you install roms. But even then most roms have issues which convinces me personally to stick with stock.
.
I have no issues with Ok Google or location sharing via Google Maps. My AL00 is on Emui 10.0 & works perfectly, i’m in Europe btw. Of course, the big difference is when factory restoring must install manually the google apps like Play Store, Maps, Google Photos, Chrome, and so on. Otherwise i see no difference between global and chinese version.

Every carrier? What? I know of 3 versions of a11 for the G8; 1) the korean Open 2) The Verizon version 3) The Canadian Open.
Hardly 'every carrier'. Updates are coming, slowly, and there is no guarantee any one individual carrier will update their software. That's an LG issue really, they have contracts with carriers with various stipulations that can affect say US Open version, which supposedly can't be updated unless all the other carriers update theirs first. It's complicated.
Call t-mobile, they can tell you when / if an update will be available. And of course, there's always the issue of what you've done to your phone. If you do something like unlock the bootloader, you won't get an update even if there is one.
cheers

Actually, that's not the US Open variant, that's the CCA variant. I'm not sure what the difference is, maybe someone can elaborate.
The lg firmware site has it listed as the US Open, but download and compare the hash tags, they don't match. But if you download the CCA version the hash will match.
I've actually never heard of CCA before, it's Competitive Carriers Association, I've heard of BrightPoint, etc, but not cca. Until someone tries it, we're not sure which carriers it's compatible with re volte and vowifi type stuff.

My phone is originally BrightPoint. I flashed the US OPEN listed on the lg firmware site, hoping that it wouldn't throw up an NT ID error, but it does :-(
Additionally VoWiFi worked with the Canadian Open but it's not working with this rom. The default email app is also missing in the US version.
The software version shows as V30c-USA-XX, with a security patch of Dec '21.

Interesting that it's not working vowifi and nt error code, that should absolutely not be the case if it was the USA version, no way. At least not if you're here in the states.
Where are u using it? Canada? That might be at least part of the reason, have you ever used the a10 US Open there? How did that work?

To get volte and vowifi to work, I change the target region & country to ESA and operator to OPEN in cust.prop. And i also edit the carrier_code, telephony and vo_config files to contain details of the networks in India.
VoLTE has worked with many A10 roms, but VoWiFi worked for the first time with the A11 Canadian Open.
PS - Since I need an unrooted phone for Microsoft apps such as Outlook and Teams, I uninstall magisk after making these configuration changes.

Question Imported CN version OP11 and I can't update to A07, am I screwed?

Hey guys,
Let me start by saying I'm a total noob around this whole scene. I've tried to do what research I can to try and understand how to go forward, but I could use some of your expert advice.
I imported a CN version of the OnePlus 11 (PHB110). The device has been flashed to what I believe is an NA ROM of Oxygen os 13? It says my model number is CPH2451 in settings. I am currently on version CPH2451_11_A.06.
The problem is I cannot update the phone to A07 in the settings menu. It basically shows there is an update, and then says an error (image attached). I've tried resetting the update, restarting the phone and nothing appears to help.
I've also tried to go through Oxygen updater and using the incremental build with local update, and this also doesn't work.
I read somewhere that I have to wait for the full NA OTA A.07 to be released? Is this correct, and is there any guarantee I will be able to update?
Basically I want to know if I should try and return the device or not.
Really appreciate your thoughts into this.
Cheers guys.
You have root ?
When yes flash the stock init_boot.img
after that the update should work
And the usa have only very rarely times a full firmware pack

Nah I don't have root. I've also never rooted or flashed before...
If I have to do so to make it work, then I guess I'll have to learn. Thanks mate.

Ok
The problem is curious.
I bought one of the first Chinese ONEPLUS 11s with OS Color. It had the Chinese block of use.
I tried everything to remove it and I didn't succeed.
I sent the phone back and I'm still fighting for the return of the money paid.
Meanwhile, I bought an OP 11 CPH2451 dual SIM. he did the update to 07 without problems.
I bought the phone in the USA on Amazon.
The problem could be from your Chinese seller who repaired/modified a blocked Chinese phone and the intervention is not happy. Let's hope it's not like that.
First of all, check the Update settings.
If they are correct, you should resume uploading.
The second solution is to try the settings for Developer Activate. The third solution is to do a full reset, activate the developer and try again.

Yeah I've tried this. It says that I am upto date on the stable brand, but there is an update when I swap to incremental.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry you are still waiting for your money back.
How do I go about developer activate?
Go to Settings , About phone, find "Build nr". Tap on it 7 times. It will show that you are a developer now.
Go back to System and find "Developer Options". Do what you want in there.
Don't change what you don't know !
I have same issue, on op11 chinese version and global oxygen os preinstalled
Why do people import the chinese one? Does it do anything the US one doesn't?

Isn't the Chinese also available with 512 gig storage??? Not sure if it's cheaper for me ATM but 512 gig isn't officially available in Canada (nor USA) for any amount of cash. I'd love to find an economical import of one were it a viable option... Not like I need it with only 60 gig used out of my 256 gig 1+7T...

I orderd 12/256 for 650 (had some discount)
Same issue. Found any fix for this? I downloaded the CPH2451_11_A.07 (incremental) from Oxygen OS Updater then used the One Plus updater apk to locally install it but it's does not work. Really need this update because the current system is buggy.
Just to be clear with everyone here with the CN version of phone not living in China. Once the phone leaves China, it stops being a phone. Nothing can be done to fix this that is free of charge. Also includes updates too.

i think the one you trying to install would just be as buggy by design though, i haven't heard/experienced a single issue-free cos to oos conversion.

Not true. Contact CS to open a RMA request. Mail your phone to local service center to unlock. Got mine "fixed" this way. I live in Canada.
Also region lock only applies if the phone is first activated in a different region, i.e. Insert a SIM card and connect to mobile network for the first time
Did you have to spend money to ship device since it was also part of the question.

Question Oneplus 11 Chinese vs global

hi
please tell me the difference between Chinese and global versions.
oneplus 11
authorized store told me that
China version is Global ROM.
Factory will open the box to install Global ROM(Oxygen OS ),multi-language and Google Play, and then, reseal it before delivery.
It supports Google Service, Multi-languages and OTA update.
Is it safe to buy the chinese version after these modifications?
No, it's not safe.
Future updates may brick your device, wipe your IMEI numbers or not install at all.
There's region call locking.
Swapping ROM gives the person who does that full access to your device.
It's best to buy a global version or a Chinese version with the original ROM.

It is not official and you don't have 100% warranty that it will work in the future. It's the AE seller own modification.
Either buy original China version with ColorOS or buy officially device meant for different region with Oxygen OS.

OnePlus authorized store on AliExpress has nothing to do with BBK/Oppo/OnePlus. This is not an official answer either. If you want to save $40 and have major issues later on - be my guest. Considering the price of the device it would be quite an irrational decision.
And, no, OnePlus does not welcome swapping ROMs from different regions. They've gone to great lengths to disable it or make it extremely complicated.

So, I should not consider the price and buy the global version. As I don't like to consume time to modify the phone, I really don't have much time for that. I need something straightforward.

That's weird also, how the official store give a misleading information or unclear about chinese version issues. I'm a little bit surprised.

Just because some trader names their store "official flagship whatever store" does not mean it's true.
