I'm not going to purchase another OnePlus phone. If I wanted ColorOS I'd buy an OPPO. OxygenOS is dead and any claims that the OS lives with the merge of company resources and engineers is just a marketing exercise as it's just Color with an Oxygen theme. Never mind, going to sell my 9 Pro and look at a Pixel I think.

yeah I've been a oneplus user for so many years, I swear one of the best devices I've ever had was my 6T, however, this coloros bs and the clear digression from the principle's that brought so many users to oneplus seemed to have taken a backseat to marketing, greed, and nonsense. for so long I was waiting for oneplus to get their camera hardware right so they could compete with the big names, but while that finally happened, they also simply said, 'f*ck the fanbase and long time users, let's merge with oppo and trash oos'. in short, yeah this 9 pro is my last oneplus, in fact, I won't even be updating to oos (coloros) 12, going to stay on 11.2.10.10 until I eventually get a pixel 6/7pro (I still have a bunch of payments to go on this 9pro), in truth, it's sad, really, that things turned out this way.
Agree man, bye oneplus, it was good knowing u for 3,3t, 5, 6,6t, 7pro and 9 pro.
I don't even have the urge to upgrade my 9 pro to stable 12
bye bye oneplus, and good morning g pixel.
Whats all i can say about all upcoming oneplus releases
It's a shame because we all loved the original ethos of OnePlus; the best unlocked hardware at a cheap price and with a near zero bloat OS. Now that we have multiple mid-tier phones, TV and wearable devices, I'm struggling to understand what OnePlus stands for or even why the brand even exists.
Shame, but same as people there, I will not buy another OnePlus phone.
They were good, because 1) had good stock ROM, close to clean Android without tons of bloatware 2) were cheap also
Nowadays they lost both of this qualities.
This is all very sad. I waited so much 10..pro. And now, reading yours messages, I understand that there is no hope. I started using model 6 and now they are taking away what has been with us for so long. Tell me, is it really supposed to be a Google pixel?I understand that I can buy which one I want, but if I look for an alternative to the departed one plus?
Oneplus really disappointed me this time: 5g has never worked, VoLTE doesn't work, the camera and its software are not up to par with other smartphones of similar price, the latest updates have been a disaster.
After buying my 9 PRO (LE2123) I was so disappointed that I thought countless times "why didn't I buy a Find X3 Pro?"
I'm even thinking about going back to Samsung.
I'm sorry to say this, but oneplus has deeply and perhaps hopelessly disappointed me this time.
Oh, guys. If you only knew what's going on with other devices...
I have had Xiaomi devices for years, last one was Poco F3. The software was disaster. Miui is a disaster.
Now I'm really happy owner of OP9Pro. Everything works. Fast.
People, who want GPixel - please think twice and do homework, there is a lot bugs there too.
I don't like Oxygen Os, now, because is f*cked up by Google...
I like Pixel 6 pro design, but with google Os, it's a NO go !
I like Motorola Edge 20. But horror news (the software will be made with google) ! NO !!!
I might buy OnePlus 10 Pro at the end of spring/start of summer from from sales forums., when the price is going down.
I agree with the general sentiment. Lots of devices coming out in 2020/21 had software/hardware problems. I purchased this phone thinking i'm getting a flagship phone with top notch hardware and dedicated software updates but ended up with just another regular phone like the old galaxy i had. So i'm not hoping anything from any future device that may be coming in the next couple of years.

So we should accept a reduction of quality because other manufacturers are just as bad?
I've seen other OEM's devices and I've done my due diligence. I've owned Google devices in the past and I have no qualms about buying one of their phones again.
OnePlus are currently releasing an updated Android 12 update for Indian and Global devices. Once again, because of GDPR, the EU market is having to wait for this software. OnePlus/OPPO engineers have dropped the ball too many times now and ColorOS is garbage.
I've ran LOS and other ROM's on this device but I've always gone back to using stock with root. OPPO are killing Oxygen and I don't like Color so it's goodbye.
It seems that management are having their say and not accepting what their workers and teams have to say. Whilst the current situation is not ideal we're all living in uncertain times, one thing that history teaches us, is that things can change. I'm not saying that we'll see immediate changes, more that progress is slow and gradual.

No, you should not accept reduction of quality.
My point is that it is so easy to say " F... OP, I'm switching to ....." .
There are problems with others too. So wait is mandatory.
Wait with switching.
Wait with upgrading.
What about Hasselblad? Will they still be using Hasselblad Cameras?

The lack of dual sim is what's holding me back from going to the pixel
Had the OP1, OP2, OP7 Pro and currently using the 9 Pro. I tried the latest OOS for a few days and it is bad.
Unless they do some major changes, there is no way Im getting another Oneplus phone.

yep, remember when OnePlus cost half as much as other flagships with excellent software? I reluctantly gave up my 7 pro for my 9 pro, and I really think the 7 Pro was peak OnePlus

One of the few reasons i buy a Motorola was quick android updates. Motorola actually promised Android Oreo and Android P when it comes out for this phone. 1 year later still there is no specific date for Oreo update. While i unlocked the phone long ago and updated it to 8.1 via custom ROMS i still paid for software support which was included in the phones cost. . If possible we can start a petition on change.org ( Which will be useless as motorola anyway treats their customers as trash) Share your thoughts
Firstly, Motorola is out of its minds. They should first give an update to Oreo and then speak of Pie. Nokia and many other devices that launched long after last year's Moto G series are already running Oreo from months. Lenovo took Motorola from Google and turned it into ****.
Secondly, Motorola said that their devices would get only one major Android update, so I'm fine with it. But what's troubling is the amount of time they're taking for it. Having said this, finally I'd like to add that though Moto devices have suffered on the software side in Lenovo's hands, I didn't find any shortcomings even on nougat and didn't really feel like needing an update. My phone gets all the things done. The only thing that I miss is a 64 bit architecture that'd allow me to gain access to portrait mode on Google camera and make the device future proof, as Google will remove all the 32 bit apps from the play store soon. The only reason I still prefer to buy the Moto devices is the XDA community. But if Moto continues releasing 32 bit os on a 64 bit chipset, then I may as well go for Mi devices because they get excellent XDA support too.
Short Answer: No
Long Answer:
I only ever bought a Moto phone because it was cheap. While I usually don't care for the latest and the greatest in neither software or hardware (still rockin a IPod Touch 4th gen) How Moto is treating it's customers is awful.
I know all about planned obsolescence, but this seems like a new level. Purposely delaying a promised software patch for your flagship until after your new flagship comes out (that conveniently ships with the promised software from the last one, mind you) Then maybe focusing on bringing that software to the old phone. Waiting just long enough to make sure everyone buys the new one.
If you don't believe me, this will probably happen again with the G6/Plus/Z/Z Play. The Android P update will get delayed and delayed until, eventually, a new Android is released. And, surprise, along with it, a new flagship that you will inevitably force people to buy while promising the new software.
It's a circle, people.
Motorola might be a good company before lenovo bought it .. But now OMG ..now i think why in the f****ing hell i chose Lenovo's Motorola ...FFS ...Everything about it's Software side is so **** !!\
So i don't think it's even worth it .. they won't change!!
I have owned and used the Moto G2, G3, G4, and now the G5+. The same complaints have been posted in these forums with every device. Personally, I don't care about upgrades to new versions of Android. As long as my phone performs well, which it does and is reliable, which it is I am content. My G5+ does everything well that I want it to do and then some. So I have no complaints.
As far as what I buy in the future, I will make that decision when the time comes. And yes, I will consider Motorola's latest offerings.
Motorola told us last year the Moto G line will get 1 major OS update.
And Oreo is being tested so just be patient or flash a custom rom.
They never promised Android P for the phone, only Android Oreo
For those saying Lenovo kileed motorola, Google was going to kill Motorola and Lenovo saved it, so stop blaming them, Motorola was a dead company
I wanted a device that was reasonably priced, close to stock, good developer community. I think I got that. So potter's not getting Pie? It wasn't promised, so there's no issue of 'trust' there. Oreo? Well OK that's late as anything. I did know at the time I bought it that Motorola was now slow to update. I bought mine around September last year, and was surprised when it auto-updated to I think the August patch. Since then, software updates have been patchy (pun intended).
Another consideration is in NZ, there's only a handful of open network phones available. Motorola, Oppo, Huawei, and you might find a few others if you're willing to go to parallel import shops etc. So with that in mind, it kinda makes the choice obvious for me. Nokia? In NZ they're network-specific, and on a network that I don't use. So yeah, I'll stick with Motorola. G6 Plus is available for us, which is a good thing. Although, I'll hang onto this for a couple of years, so I'd likely skip the Gen 6 motos.
The xiaomi mi a2 lite / mi a2 released in 2018 - and the AndroidOne phones will get Android update for tow years any know about Android 10? It's need to be released other Android one phones have the last Android one 10 update
Well... I don't think we gonna get it in December so maybe January. Meanwhile Huawei, Nokia, Samsung already started to roll out the Android 10 updates we have to wait. Seems like at xiaomi's miui is higher priority then Android one.

Employees in Xiaomi support suck a**. They don't know the slightest thing they're talking about. Last time I asked them when we were gonna get the Android 10 update they told me "very soon", "we're working on it" etc. All evasive responses. Some other dude asked Xiaomi support and they told him we'd get it two weeks after he asked which was about 1,5 months ago. So, don't trust Xiaomi support, they don't know what they're saying/doing. But I believe in January we'll get the update, a really crappy one. Just like how it was with Android Pie, full of bugs and missing features. LOL

Or you know, support robots, canned messages that promises Android 10 etc., yet nothing happened, just to ignore lots of peoples' queries, but instead, meaningless blurbs by Xiaomeme. No surprises here.
Anyway, custom ROM scenes did better job at this than Xiaomeme. Glad I don't go wait with their 'bUg FiXeS aNd ImPrOvEmEnTs' updates.

I agree that the Custom ROMs are very stable right now, but I can't trust them. That's the reason I'm still using stock ROM with locked BL in 2019 haha. I wish Xiaomi cared more for their Android One devices, but it seems they only wanted hop on another trend real quick and they are technically not giving a sh*t at all. When I first bought this phone, I expected all Android One devices to run the same OS, but somehow Nokia Android One devices get better, faster and more polished updates. I wish I had gotten the Nokia 7.1 when I had the chance. Shame.

Wise! Beware of open source.
Android 10 was released on September, Xiaomi said that they will update Mix 3 on October, But looking at the situation it's started getting ridiculous, we're now at the end of February which is 5 month over the schedule and we have got nothing. I don't care if Android 10 is not different from 9, I paid for a flagship and I should get a flagship service, not to mention this is also applies for the Android security patch which is pretty old and last updated on October. Also the forgotten 5G variant which still running on MIUI 10. Is this is a joke? really?? if anyone knows who to contact from the company so we can gather and make a demand on extending our device support since we didn't get anything for a long time.
Xiaomi was a good company I don't know what's happening to it.
Xiaomi release about 37 phones every couple of weeks.
They can't support all of them. They've now scrapped the Mix line completely and it seems they've given up on the users.
My next phone probably won't be a Xiaomi device.
China has received Android 10 on the mix 3 a few weeks ago, only a matter of time before we get it, the virus must be the cause of the delay

No, the virus is just an excuse, this is software development they can work remotely.
There's so many bugs, at least in my experience. Ghost notifications, broken app switcher sometimes, glitchy gallery, disappearing lock screen notifications, the ads in the cleaner app, and so on.
It's so disappointing, all of this on a seemingly orphaned flagship.
Disappearing lock screen notifications is "feature" according to them, kinda make sense but everybody, including me, is used to other way. Ads in Xiaomi app is also a feature, but this one you can change at least, you can do that by going into that apps settings and then find "recommendations" and turn that off..

They may not be able to, it is entirely possible that the company does not allow IP (IE, the code) to be taken off site, or worked on remotely, and depending where the employees are, they may not have access to internet that is reliable and speedy enough to be conducive to remote development. Plus if some of the European news sources are to be believed, the true scale of 2019-nCoV may be 10x higher than what China is actually sharing with the world.
Your chances of getting anything by demanding it unless you are going to try to file a suit in China (good luck) are almost zero. I agree this device is not being treated as a flagship by Xiaomi, the Redmi and Pocophone devices that sold much better got much faster updates, which is not cool. It's also been the case for a while now that the global users are second fiddle to China ROM users.
Basically there's nothing any of us can do, except wait, unless you want to try to develop your own rom, which given what I've personally run into is anything but easy for this device. I was barely able to get Android 10 booting, and lots of things were broken.
Pocophones and Redmis has much higher development in India. Even if the devs in China were affected by CoVid, and halts development, for example the Poco or Pocophone's software dev could still be running in full course. Most of the releases are Indian-first, you just need to change region to India and you'll get the update. For the Mix 3, if they're solely based in China, it'll be affected by the outbreak, release will stagger for more months but you'd still get the update nonetheless, albeit not on the time you expect it would be.
Unless not getting an Android 10 upgrade makes your phone unusable, I don't see the reason why people whine on these types of things. I mean, get a Pixel if you want to experience the latest bugs from Android.
^^ I agree, and also people should have in mind that software for Mix line does not come with all the bugs, that come to Redmi and other phones, so yes, they might get update faster, but see how many users of those phones are complaing about bugs and searching for fixes, as far I could see there are not bugs on this phone. But update is released today, at least some users are reporting that, so we will see if hos it goes, maybe I'm wrong..
Update has been released today, based on Android 10.
Doesn't Google mandate that phones should be supported for 2 or 3 years?
No, this is not AndroidOne program
I'm confused... We do have Android 10. Global has had it for a while.
No update for the 5g.
Shame on you Xiaomi.
This is my last Xiaomi.
I've had Android 10 since 2019 on my Mi Mix 3.

Settle down. Thanks
To answer your question, no.
I have learned that waiting for the stable release is worth it. If being first is your priority, than a custom ROM may be your ticket. But there are not many custom ROMS for the Fold 3.
That being said, I believe the Fold 3 is lower on the list because of number of units sold.
If you are impatient, hope you don't have a locked phone. Some carriers, like T especially, you will be waiting even longer!

First Samsung?
And when you say All other phones have Android 12...but do they? Really? All of them?
As of December 8th, 2021:
Here is the list of phones that should be updated to Android 12 already:
Pixel 3
Pixel 3 XL
Pixel 3a
Pixel 3a XL
Pixel 4
Pixel 4 XL
Pixel 4a
Pixel 4a 5G
Pixel 5
Pixel 5a
Pixel 6
And since I've had Android 12 on my ZF3 for about a month now, I'd say the fact that Samsung is second only to Pixel when it comes to update time frame, I'd say that's pretty damn good.
Seriously, relax.

No, and I've also been on the beta since it rolled out. However I give Samsung a lot of credit for doing their homework and research before releasing the live version. What could possibly be the utmost importance about android 12? Your phone will operate exactly the same without the update. All the update is going to bring are updated UI elements.
Does your phone not work on 11?
The only thing I'm frustrated about is how the phone paint at the exposed areas are peeling badly. It's not even 6 months and the peel is spreading out. And yes, I did go to the service centre and is not covered under warranty.

Canadians just got Android 12 today for Note 20 and Fold 3 so don't think you are that hard done by. The worst part of it is the files are all stamped Dec 23rd so Samsung sat on the update for over three weeks before it sent it to its customers. Also, still no dual SIM for Fold 3???

So, my OnePlus 9 Pro suddenly gets a green line on screen after an OTA. My phone has never been dropped and doesn't have a single scratch on it. I am 5 months out of warranty. I messaged OnePlus support on WhatsApp, and the guy over there told me I don't have to worry and I'll get free screen replacement. He told me to just take it to the service center. I do that and the service center people tell me to use OnePlus pickup and drop and send device for repairs that way.
I do that, The pickup is done and I'm being told I'll get updates regarding it. I can see that my phone is delivered to the service center but there's nothing else happening.
I call OnePlus call support to provide me with more details regarding this but most of the agents just hang up on me. I am concerned because this is my primary device and I'm using a cracked OnePlus 8 now.
I have done nothing to damage the device and this seems to be a fault of OnePlus and I have to suffer without my phone. I don't know what to do. I was thinking of filing a complaint on consumer forum portal.
OnePlus as a company has degraded a lot. I have been a OnePlus fanboy since OnePlus One. I have all the devices and seems like I'm done.
OnePlus to be as they were is dead. There's no proper support and these people are really irresponsible. I have no clue what's happening with my phone.
I can't ever recommend a OnePlus phone to anyone anymore. Just get a pixel already.
My work and everything is affected because of my phone. I even asked if they would provide me with a compensation device or a temporary device but the customer support agents simply ignore and say that "they don't have the authority" and most of them have simply stayed quiet not saying a single word till I had to hang up.
I hope this article helps you to save some time by simply getting a pixel next time.
This from me is a goodbye to oneplus.
I was a sincere fan and all they did was disappoint.

Guess it's true that you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself as the villain.
On a side note I'd like to tell you more about that line.
It doesn't appear on black background.
Its like a blur line on other colors
When I scroll, the line weirdly turns green.

I saw several reports on twitter about these green lines, did this happen on the oxygenos 13 ob2?

For me it happened on OOS12
Something doesn't add up.
How long was the warranty period for the OnePlus phone you have.
Which OnePlus region is your phone from? The model number will be on the box.
Which ROM do you have installed?

I'm with you. OP is dead. The customer service run around was a nightmare. I talked to an agent every 2-3 days and none of them could tell me anything useful. I emailed and support chat'd. No replies in email. Support chat doesn't understand English well enough and kept asking me unrelated questions but still couldn't help. I was just trying to return a device (10Trash).
It was never like that before. They claimed they sent the shipping label 5x but it never arrived to any email. I would get the reservation number email that comes just before the shipping label but never the label. I eventually got the return label by asking them to send it to multiple email addresses. While googling this issue, it's apparently not uncommon since 2020 on reddit and other places. People not receiving their label and blaming it on person, but they received the reservation email as well.
Then it sat in their facility for over a month, contacting agents every 2-3 days to get any update. Eventually some higher up reached out to me to tell me they hadn't processed my refund because I didn't return the case. Which was already mentioned that I just wanted the phone refunded, not the case. Somehow that information was lost. It took about 5 weeks to get the refund, after they had possession.
I put a bunch of friends and family onto OP devices because of how amazing the 5, 6 and 7 series were, the community support and the actual Support were also great at that time. I can no longer do that.
I've had Nexus and Pixel devices, I am hoping the Nothing Phone 2 or 3 is really great. This OP9 will be my last OP device and I will no longer recommend them.
Oppo/OP made a mistake doing things this way, maybe they didn't realize a lot of their popularity came from us 'tech guys' recommending them to our friends and family after such great experiences. And now it's too late for me, and you.
Of the 12 or so people I've got onto OP devices, about 10 of them are still using them. The other 2 went back to Samsung for the camera. As they come into EOL for their phones, I don't have a good suggestion for them, yet. I did just get another friend onto a OP9 this week (amazon $300, non pro) but I told him I can't recommend anything OP, newer than that so don't fall in love too much.
Of all of the mistakes I feel OP made, changing oos and bugs in android 12+ has to be the worst. I can deal with dumb customer service when the phone is so stable I don't need to talk to them. But they blew it all over.
I've never seen a OnePlus service center here, are you in India?

No ROM. I installed an OOS 12 OTA and boom there's a green line on my display. Warranty is over, as I've mentioned before.

Yeah, OnePlus was always a recommended phone from any friendly neighborhood 'tech guy'
And yeah, there was a time OnePlus made sense but right now its nothing but an average Chinese OEM and nobody gives a crap about OnePlus anymore tbh.
OnePlus is no longer anything special, or to put it in better words the OnePlus we all got to love and appreciate is dead.

Which oos 12 version did you have installed before the green line appeared
Which OTA version did you install when the line appeared
Which country are you in?
I have a OnePlus 8 Pro that has been kept on OxygenOS 10. That was the last truly great operating system from OnePlus. It runs faster than some newer devices on Android 12. It's truly a shame because they're one of the only brands of Snapdragon phones that can be bootloader unlocked and rooted. Maybe you can roll back to Android 11, or unlock and flash to a custom AOSP rom.

c.66 I assume gave the green line and they have confirmed it. The OTAs are also paused I think. I've heard that 9 and 9R users are also having the green line issue.

You might try reaching out to OnePlus to see if they'll fix it under 'warranty' anyway. Maybe cite as many threads from here, OnePlus community (if that's still a thing), reddit and google, of others having the same issue. Maybe they are willing to do something for you. That's scary an OTA can brick the screen. Reminds me of the Nexus 6P ota that broke the main cpus

I've sent the device in. AND.. Spoiler alert to any future OnePlus Customers.. their service is an absolutely nightmare (I most certainly am not exaggerating this) . They simply will not tell you what is happening with your phone or how long will it even take until they do something about the issue. I had sent my device on 21st of October 2022 and so far I got nothing. My case was even escalated to their so-called 'higher team' specifically some guy named Anthony Francis but they also have been ignoring me. Their 'Higher Team' told me they will contact with an update in 5 days on 6th November but they have not given me any update till now that is 17th November. Will post email screenshots.

That's such a shame. I had a similar experience with a refund. It took 5 weeks, countless agents, emails and support chat. The old OP was not like that in my experience. This stinks like Oppo
I wish you success and an update
Here few people's doing online fix this issue

Every since OnePlus has merged with oppo they don't know what they're doing. You can see this with countless Nord phones coming out.
