For any active Nextbit Robin users running the latest LineageOS (any other up-to-date Android distribution is welcome too), what issues are you experiencing with your device?
Any random freezes or reboots?
Little less activity here so I decided to write. It's not my daily driver, rather its my backup. I'm using /e/ Foundation on it and it's great! Obviously the battery is deteriorating, but for its uses (emergencies), its doing great. Hopefully, whoever is still out there using this device, its going great as well! Looking like its a solid EOL from its developers as well.

You made me turn it on once again. My battery is still in a bad state, but for a few minutes I got to re-live memories I had with this phone.
Running the stock ROM, last update
Happy to see some people still use their Robin from time to time !

Stock ROM! damn! With the slim chance we get Android 12 from developers, this device has lived its life!
Yep, still use them. I solved the problem with battery from powerbank. I'm using unofficial pixel exp os on 9 android, but it's very laggy and throttly phone.

Hello. I continue to use the Nextbit Robin in 2022 and 2023. I managed to completely restore 3 smartphones out of 4. Everything has been restored to perfect condition. I also printed out a full copy of the conceptual case "in holes-grid" using the original drawings. It seems there were once sold on Ozone. At the moment I have mint and midnight at my disposal
What is included in the package:
-Original box
-Documentation
-Original, mint, flat charging cable
-The key for the SIM card
-Protective film for the display
-Improved battery, high capacity
-New Display
-Improved fast charging device
-New case
-Android 11 or 9
Rom :
Lineage 11 Mokee 11 Pixel 9
For my part I'm using robin nexbit with last lineage os ROM possible cause now no more update out the device seems to be too old to get a newer lineageos rom
The sharp corners and stiff edges still provide just as challenging of a buttplug alternative as the day I first keistered it.

So my Nexus has been under repair for the last two weeks. Just got it back last night.
When I sent it in for repair there were only a handful of roms, now there are like ...lots.
So, was wondering, what is considered right now by the Verizon community for the Nexus, the most complete, feature rich, stable working rom for Jellybean?
I know it's a loaded question, but hopefully someone can give some insight
you should trie this one!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1613902
I`m using the maguro version and its great!!! its almost nothing you cant change on this rom!! It is simply amazing:laugh:

If you are interested in Jellybean, I would suggest Eclipse Jellybean. I have flashed Paranoid and Vicious and they are both very good ROMs but I really like the included features and continuous updates of Eclipse. I am on verizon as well and have had zero problems with the exception of the custom navbar utility. Not the navbar itself, mind you, just the utility that allows you to customize the softkey icons on the fly. Otherwise, the features are great and they don't include a ton of useless features and mods that will add to instability, kill your battery, or just slow your phone.
Well, I think that ParanoidAndroid is one of the best rom.
The hybrid mode made your phone looks completely different. It's awesome.
It's based CM10.
The thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1619582
Unfortunately, not everything is so good in this rom. The actual versions are not very stable (maybe for the CM kernel). I would recommend to wait untill ParanoidAndroid 2.0 (which should be very stable).
This is an example of how my Gnex looks like:

I am really tempted by the Find 7a, it looks decent on paper but I am reading a lot of things that are putting me off, can owners comment on their severity or if they are indeed problems?
Bluetooth - lots of reports that it is flaky. I can't live with this. I need a solid handsfree connection in the car, and preferably solid audio out too. Is this a software problem or did they put crappy hardware in it?
Battery - plenty saying the battery drains like 30% overnight in standby. This is not good. Is it resolved in Color OS 2.x beta? Any better in CM?
Storage - oh man. Why did they do that? Way to cripple a phone.
ROMs - I know they are pretty open with an unlocked bootloader but I am not seeing much in the way of ROM development. It's pretty quiet over here and their forums aren't exactly buzzing with developers.
How is the state of CM11 on the 7a? Does it fix any of the issues mentioned above?
Any general comments on the handset? Is it worth the punt or in that price range better to go for something more established like a Nexus 5 or LG G2?
Thanks
C
I think I can answer all your questions as I'm involved with parts of the 7a third party development myself.
First off, the hardware is fine and top notch, all the things you read about are in software and resolved by installing nameless ROM (all of the things you mentioned).
The battery depletion overnight (8 hours) is about 3 to 4 percent on nameless ROM with Wi-Fi and 3g permanently on and NFC off.
The storage issue can be resolved by executing my partition tool which you can find on the official oppo forums together with the nameless ROM download.
As for your intention of using cm11, I would stay away from it, it takes forever to get things fixed on that and some things are still glitched on it.

Thanks @MrColdbird that is really useful info. Good to know the hardware isn't at fault.
Nameless ROM looks great and good to see some solutions to the crazy partitioning scheme. I assume you guys will be releasing Nameless for the OnePlus One too?! The One seems to have a minor hardware upgrade compared to the Find 7.
One last thing, I know it is personal preference but how do you find the size of the device, there is no getting away from the fact that it is pretty huge...?
Agreed about CM11 - they seem really slow at fixing things these days, perhaps they are trying to support too many devices and spreading themselves too thinly. They seem to fix one thing and break about a dozen more with each M release.
It's been like that since the first A10 update on February, (I'm global version)I'm on V11.0.14.0 now and it's has yet to be fixed, it's really starting to annoy me as I used to use that feature almost everyday, but it seems that Xiaomi is doing that on purpose, even the EU update has this bug now, people have been reporting ever since the first A10 update on February but they still released the EU update without fixing it (because they really don't want to), so I starting to think that we should make a petition on change.org or something because I've never seen such a bad customer service/development team from any other company in my life, I think it's just because this is stock Android not MIUI. I've been using the Feedback app since the first day they released it but i didn't get any response regarding this issue, doubt they check those reports, I had hopes that this was a bug it looks like it's a feature for people with Stock Android, so they can sell more MIUI phones.
Any thoughts?

I've lost any faith in Xiaomi support and customer service. I can confirm that, as European consumer, I've never seen a company ignoring their userbase as Xiaomi. I'm more disappointed as I was using Xiaomi phones and devices for years and now I feel like they're totally betraying their customers. No petition will change this attitude and they confirmed it, since they say that they make money through software and ads and not with the hardware.
Best way to use the A series is using a custom rom: until now I feel that Pixel Experience builds on A2 lite and A3 are way better than stock roms.
In customs roms and in the global version they are also lost and in all apps, not only the stock camera, they leave us 1/4 or at most 1 / 3s of exposure time, this problem I have seen in all roms whose base or vendor is 10, even in many gcam, except some, that if they manage to jump the exposure time limit, which makes me think that it is something that is in the vendor of the new update, in the global rom It has been reported since the first failed updates, the 48Mpx have also disappeared in the Open Camera, Android 10 has been a disaster for the cameras and apparently it is the intention of Xiaomi the limitation because if they had not corrected it a while ago.
I think the custom roms should all be done again with vendor 9 as the base, instead of vendor 10, since these limitations are absurd, or in any case find the solution.
Should be fixed with the upcoming May security patch updates as some users have been reporting.
Why:
Still using my night design Nextbit Robin. Had it since 2017 coming from a Nokia N900 which I only stopped using because community software support was fading. Always found the design to be very beautiful and hard to change phone because I am not a big fan of other phones which are all so big and just look alike.
What:
I am on LineageOS (the latest) primarily. I do not use Google Apps or root. F-Droid and Aurora Store does things for me just fine. Only during the Pokémon GO craze I temporarily switched to OmniROM for microG (OmniROM supported signature spoofing), but besides that the lack of Google Play Services never prevented any other functionality (even bank app works fine).
Using my phone primarily as OTP authenticator, for QR bank payments and occasional messenger things.
Also take pictures to quickly send them to my desktop computer via e-mail.
Issues:
- Recently switched from PIN code to fingerprint and I notice it is very troublesome accepting my fingers (especially after I shower). I have my left thumb configured once, and my right thumb x4 trying to improve it, but still have situations where it fails many times.
- Battery performance. Device seems to randomly shut off when at 50%. I might switch to a slow charger to see if that helps fix the issue, worst case scenario I have to replace battery which seems like a cumbersome process, but thankfully original battery replacements seem to be not that expensive or hard to find.
Yes I do.
In 2018 I got a problem with SIM: it was disappearing randomly. I thought it was a hardware issue and bought Blackberry Priv to be my primary phone. This was at the end of 2018. The battery was also an issue as it was dying fast. So... I've been using Priv from 2019 to 2021 and I liked the keyboard but totally locked bootloader, awful software and extremely slow permanent memory chip made me to but a new battery for Robin, flash Lineage 17 (18 is laggy for now) and now I'm using it again. SIM issues gone btw.
I use mine as a main phone.
For some google apps (esepcially Chrome and Maps) it's not as fast as it used to be but everything else works great.
I don't play games on it though.
After 2,5 year of usage my battery started to let me down and the phone would die around 30%. But then I bought a new battery at Aliexpress and still works like a charm.
For camera I'm using Gcam and I'm satisfied with the results.
For the rom I'm actually still on AICP rom of Android 7.1 but would like to change it soon.
An old tester Robin was dropped into my lap the other week and I'm in love with the design. I put a matte skin and glass screen protector on it and it's now my smart TV remote this thing is so dang charming.

Try to use it as your daily driver, it's even better !
I have been using it since 2018, then a year later phone has stopped charging.
I ordered a new power ic on Ali and continued to use it, but half a year ago I dropped it on the asphalt, which was the reason for buying a new phone.
I really like this phone, but it has a terrible battery and overheats.
Im on android 13 beta.
I m charging phone 2 times per day.
I know is too early for some things because is beta version.
How battery life going at your pixel with android 13?
It's pretty bad my phone was fully charged and was listing to the radio out in the garden fence painting via WiFi and within few hours I here the low battery beep thought to myself it can't be flat looked and was on 9% I'm on 13 B3 latest hope they issue hotfix fast
Thought it was me, but yeah it drains very fast.
The a13b3 runs smoothly but drains crazy
Same thing here. Battery seems to drain much faster on A13B3 than it has on the previous builds.
I didn't spam press anything and it just triple posted my comment... Anyone with higher permissions can remove those duplicate posts.
Οk then so , it's not just me..
Keep patient...

I'm on A13b3. This is sitting untouched overnight. I've also noticed it feels warm even without use.

I am not on A13 Beta, but have experienced abysmal battery life ever since updating to March update (A12L), April/May/June updates didn't change anything in that negative regard. Before, the phone barely lasted the day - since March, I have to top up every day. Reset didn't help. Never had those problems with my P4 XL. Right now, my P6 Pro is reminding me of my P3 - and not in a good way. To have massive battery anxiety throughout the day is not something I expected from a flagship phone with a 5000 mah battery.
