Question How to rename zip from oxygen updater for Lokal Upgrade..? - OnePlus 9 Pro

Im in oxygen OS 12 beta 3 and want to rename the zip file from oxygen updater.
The zip files are with a long number and Letter named and Lokal Upgrade App didn't find the files with this Name.
How to rename the zip file for getting recognized from lokal Upgrade App..?

Oos.12.C.39 for example.

.. That didn't Work

Move the .zip in Storage. NOT in any folders.
That the second picture said.

Pretty sure the filenames have to remain as they were when you downloaded them in order for them to show in local upgrade. At least this is the case for me. The second I rename it, local upgrade won't recognize it.

Have you flashed hardSPL?
i thought i did
i have had to right cause im running custom ROM now
hit bbotlegger SPL-0.85.olinex
what is your problem exactly? your first post isn't very descriptive
i keepp getting 0068002
once i downloaded the NEW ROM on desktop i renamed it rhodimg.nbh. put that on my FAT32 SD card main mem just cleked and dragged took a lil time says 149 mb then it was done copying. so i took trhe SD and placed in cell phone hit tri color so it could pick it up but it just stated those #s and wont let me boot up the new ROM from the sd.........
149MB? that's quite small for the rhodium, was it a *.RAR or *.7Z? if so, those are zip archives, you need something like 7ZIP to open them
Badwolve1
Could it be its not in capitals like RHODIMG.nbh not rhodimg.nbh?

Nah, it's not case sensitive
Try a different MicroSD card, preferably a different brand. I remember with the Kaiser, some MicroSD card models from specific manufacturers (I believe Kingston) would just not flash from MicroSD.
It happens when you have these hidden files on the storage card, for example a file name .Rhodium.nbh exist on the storage, then Rhodium.NBH wont be executed.
If you check "Show all files", you'll see alot of these fragmented files starting with a ( . ), so just delete them and flash away.

That's a RAR file, not a cab. Besides, cab files don't contain ROMs, and won't flash from SD. It sounds like you already have a RAR extracting utility, but if you don't, download any RAR extracting utility (I use 7-zip and Universal Extractor). Then, rename the file extension of the file you downloaded back to .rar (so its icon is 3 books with a belt again), extract it, and rename the nbh file inside the RAR to rhodimg.nbh, if it isn't called that already. Take the NBH file and place it on your sd card, and all will be well
D Bo/ AWSOME !!
i download Universal Extractor

Well Said.!
THANKS EVERYBODY !!
Cant wait to try this ROM !!

Sure....what exact files are you downloading? You should be able to tell when you're downloading them that the extension is ".cab"...as long as that's the case, just put the .cab file on your phone and click it to run from there.

in other words. Don't unpack the "cab" files on your computer or phone... just transfer the entire "cab" package to your sd card or phone. Use file explorer (on your phone) to navigate where you have saved the cab files. Select the cab file and the installation will begin
aaand this too just for the noobness haha.. if you've d/l'd a .cab to your pc and have winrar installed on it.. winrar will show the .cab's icon as that little set of books like a .rar file.. they're both archives, but the .cab doesn't need unpacking.. it's like a windows mobile version of a .exe for the pc.. just saying, i did that too at 1st.. a loong time ago.. haha
just copy and paste to your phone storage and you are all set

Depends on what their recommendation is.
If its just a .zip with the .apk inside it, you can just unzip and install the .apk with a file explorer.
If it's a .zip made for flashing, just flash it via CWM.
Yea, the zip file didn't contain a apk, and via cwm it failed to flash!
not sure what to do now...

What folders are inside the ZIP? If it has things like "assets", "META-INF" and "res", change the file extension to .apk and install as normal.

yup that was it, just figured it out and installed them (when I downloaded a apk file which was exactly the same size).
Thanks!

zip files

Once you've put zip files on your device can you rename them to more sensible names as long as you keep the .zip? Will they still flash ok? Some of the names are rediculously long and cant be viewed properly, making it hard to select the right one.
I think you should be fine if you rename them.

renaming a zip doesn't cause any issues, i always rename my firmware files to their version and then flash them.

Wil I lose my data with this upgrade method?

Local upgrade method.
https://www.oneplus.com/uk/support/softwareupgrade/details?code=PM1574161738631
It's a regular update, so no.
Is there any reason that I can just directly download the zip file to my phone, instead of PC and transfer to the phone, as in the instructions below?
Thank you
How to upgrade system?
Download the software build for your device on this page. Please back up your data before flashing your device.
Plug your phone into your computer and copy the downloaded .zip to your phone’s storage. If you’re using a Mac, you can install Android File Transfer Android File Transfer for this operation.
After the .zip file is copied to your phone, go to 'Settings' - 'system update', click the 'settings' icon on the top right corner, choose 'Local upgrade', find the .zip file and click on 'Install' to confirm.
The update takes about a minute (depending upon the file size), once done reboot your device to boot into the latest Oxygen OS.

You can download directly in your phone, and place it in root of sdcard.
Also be sure the file ends with a .zip extension.
So I downloaded it, it was a jar, so I extracted it and put it in the root of my sdcard. When I try to do local upgrade, it says, "Move installation file into root directory." I moved the jar file as well, and it does not detect it.

Rename .jar into .zip and copy it in the root.
Thanks for all of your help. Upgrade is done, easy peasy! :good:

I use it to notify me when an update is available and to handle the download. After that I switch to the system updater to perform the local upgrade.
