Dasaita 9 inch px5, in need of display. Can't find anywhere. - MTCD Android Head Units General

I'm trying to find a 9 inch display digitizer and possibly controller board or driver board or whatever it's called for my head unit. Pictures and all the part number and serial numbers I can find are attached below. Without going into details of fist hit my stereo a couple of times and yeah even though the parts are cheap I'm unable to find one. I got another head unit for like a hundred bucks and then try to see if that one would work but that one doesn't have a separate driver board and it just flat out wasn't working and then I bought another digitizer and display separately that closely mastered I had but I guess because the driver board isn't the same the unit doesn't display anything. The core board gets warm so I can tell that it's actually turning on as well as see the power out of my bench power supply being used but other than that it's not lighting up the display at all there's no click there's no backlight so I'm guessing it's incompatible with that driver board. Can anybody help me find these parts? I'm looking specifically for the display the digitizer the glass that the whole thing the whole display itself. I don't think I need a controller or driver board but just in case I'm going to get one anyway and just replace that in the ribbon cables just everything except for the head unit that has to do with the display. If you have any questions let me know and again pictures are attached for your reference

What did Dasaita suggest when contacted for support and spare parts

@DJYoshaBYD I had exactly the same issue with my 9in Dasaita head unit.
There is a known issue with the TFT board that the backlight regulator component (Zener diode - D1) on the TFT board that will overheat and damage the component if you run the display at 100% brightness for extended periods of time. I was able to get Dasaita to provide me a replacement TFT board (that is specifically what you ask them for) and it solved the backlight issue for me.
The TFT board is IMG_20211215_093943.jpg in your set of images

If you still need/want the LCD panel, I have the one that I purchased from Dasaita for $65 (US) which I did not end up using. I would let you have it at my cost + shipping. I have the exact LCD pictured in IMG_20211215_094017.jpg from your images above.
I have listed the LCD display on eBay:

Give me a total for the display. I'd like it expedited. I don't need the board itself the board should be fine I just need the display the digitizer the glass and the ribbons basically the whole display minus the controller board. The board didn't burn out or anything like that fist for some reason landed directly on my stereo and shattered it. LOL. So that's why I need another one. So just the LCD and the digitizer are all I need. So if you can give me a price for just those two things and a price for overnight and like two day like give me a couple of different prices for you know shipping plus like the regular base shipping and we'll go from there

@DJYoshaBYD sent PM.

Sorry to hear that your display got shattered.
The display and digitizer are all in one, just what's shown in the eBay listing is included. I have not even removed the screen protector film from the display.
Will ship it to you in the same packaging that I received it from Dasaita. You can get shipping estimates from eBay as I have also provided shipping box dimensions.

As much as I want to get it dude like I'm going to need like the whole display. Like the LCD the digitizer with the glass and the control board with it and the cables so I mean the whole display as it comes out of the head unit itself so basically from the ribbon all the way to the front of the display I need all that if I'm going to pay you know 80 bucks for it. If you could do 65 flat for the whole thing so 50 and then 15 for shipping I'll pay that. But all I'm seeing in the ad is just the display itself with no digitizer or anything which means I have to spend another 15 or 20 bucks on a digitizer and get a control board of mine's burn out so if you can do all of it for 65 flat I'll do that

I'm offering the display for what I paid Dasaita for it and don't have the ribbon cables, etc. I do have a TFT board that I would be willing to include for the "Buy it Now" price + shipping. When I bought the display from Dasaita, I was wanting the whole front end of the head unit too, but that's what they sent me.
For what I'm offering the item for, I'm not looking to turn a profit. It's just that I sold the vehicle that the head unit was in and now I don't need these parts. Based on what you've indicated, what I am offering would very likely fix your head unit, if only the display glass was shattered.

broken screen

I have dropped my xda 2s and have smashed the screen also cracked the sliding part of the case on the front where the home buttons etc are. the sliding part of the screen is now very loose. any idea how much this will cost to repair looking at it i hink it may be past economic repair.
Hi m8, if your not going to repair it let me know what board type you have and how much you want for it.. I spent £120 on a new screen but later realised the main board had a crack in it.
Cheers
Martin
will do, £120 i assume that is for a bare screen? so with a case and fiting it is fair to assume im well over £200 just as well it is going to be paid for by the insurance co they just need to know how much for the claim to see whether they want to repair it or replace. i love my 2s but if it is being replace i think it will be an exec next time.
is the touch screen and the display all one integrated unit or 2 seperate units?

[SOLVED] How to know if I must replace Digitalizer, LCD or Both?

Hey I was wondering how could I know if I need to replace the digitilizer, the LCD or both? The touch screen seems to be working (it responds as usual) the issue is that the glass is broken. The thing is that the difference is price is quite big between digitilizer and both.
Thanks!
They're fused together and almost impossible to separate without causing damage. You'll have to replace the whole LCD/digitizer assembly
If you manage to separate them (i don't recommend) then you can get the cheap digitizer. You will need a hair dryer to melt the glue between them.
I didn't try this or will try it but this method is very popular for iphones.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I've spent 6 months trying to get a proper One X screen (complete unit, LCD+Digitizer). Not one of the 7-8 screens I have tried has had the digitizer fully bonded to the LCD. Many of the replacements had defective LCDs too (contrast issues, bad backlights etc).
When I got my One X back in April (had it for a whole week before a drop from pocket height smashed the screen!), I recall that there was no gap at all between the LCD and digitizer, across the whole screen area - they were bonded completely - something proven beyond doubt when a repair company had a go at getting the broken digitizer off the LCD underneath.
Every replacement screen I have tried has had a distinct gap - the LCD and digitizer are bonded but ONLY along the edges, not across the screen surfaces. I cannot see a way they could be bonded across the entire surface either, as the gap seems to be there because the digitizer unit holds the gorilla glass approximately 1mm above the LCD surface. Even if you could bond them, it wouldn't go right to the edges.
So now I have a flawless LCD, but an air gap. Pressing on the screen (eg, when checking for the Wi-Fi hardware issue), results in a sort of "reverse bubble" - a dark area where the two surfaces come into contact. That dark area is actually how the entire screen should look, and the air gap makes the display poor in direct sunlight.
Now I could put up with it, but the Ballistic case I have (to prevent more shattered screens) forces the digitizer into contact with the LCD in the middle of the screen which looks rubbish.
Does anyone know of a source of replacement screens that aren't the crappy sort I've been getting? Or am I wrong about the air gap? I'm convinced the ones on ebay are ALL these shoddy hand-made efforts with air gaps.
In case anyone wondered - I did ask HTC about a repair, but as you may know, they wanted a ransom fee if I didn't like their quote after posting my phone to them. O2 gave a free quote, but wanted £300! Their repair centre refused to just replace the screen, and insisted on replacing the perfectly functioning mainboard too.
£300 ? thats more than the phone's price, it shouldn't cost more than £100 if they wanted to rip you

No it's not - the phone is £380 on Amazon right now (it was £400+ but the One X+ release has devalued it more quickly).
If you'd like to provide a link to somewhere offering a complete new screen for £100 or less, I would be interested. Most companies in the UK are offering replacement screens for £150 or so, fitted.
Thank you all, today I went to a local store and they changed both LCD and Digitilizer for $120 (Dollars), they kept my LCD (which was working). I think it went way cheaper than expected

Thanks - I also just found that over in the other thread in the General section. Finally I might have my One X back!

Lapdock LCD panel part number & disassembly

I had a spare lapdock laying around and got curious if the lcd panel was compatible with my cracked exopc tablet.
I couldn't find any information on what model or brand the lcd was, nor any dis-assembly info on the screen, so I decided to wing it.
First thing you notice is that there's an aluminum bezel, much like on a macbook air - this has to be heated and peeled off with an exacto or similar object, it's very easy to bend it out of shape, so be cautious and patient with the pressure and heat, There's a bunch of tiny screws around the magnesium frame that have to be taken out, two on the corner near the hinges, and three underneath the hinge cover, that just pops and slides off. Once you take those screws out, the frame comes out easily along with the 40-pin LVDS cable, (I'd post pictures of the process, but it's pretty straight forward)
I don't know if there's any variation on the LCD panels that are used in the lapdocks, but for the one I took apart, it's a
CHI MEI N116B6-L04
Which for my intents and purposes, was perfectly compatible with my exopc tablet as a replacement lcd. :good:
In terms of cost efficiency, a replacement screen would've cost me 60 bucks, I bought the lapdock for 60 bucks; but I assume they go for around 50 now. So in the end I payed about the same for a replacement lcd + all the effort and risks to disassemble it - the extra parts I have left over, that I'll probably use as a tablet keyboard dock (like a ghetto asus transformer dock).
In the end, at least I finally used that thing for something. Hopefully this was informative for someone.

Anybody replace the LCD screen? mine is broke, looking at ebay..

has anybody ordered and replaced the LCD screen on this phone?
i managed to crack mine after some month of abuse. anybody recommend an lcd screen assembly from ebay?
Yes. I have replaced a few as I work in a mobile phone repair shop.
Not sure if I'm allowed to post eBay links here but anyway here it is:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Huawei-P...948322?hash=item1a172c98a2:g:jcoAAOSw6WdXidIF
The client actually bring the screen for me to replace his broken screen, came with screen and frame pre-assembled like this. While I have ordered one for a similar model for the Huawei Ascend G8 a few times it's pretty simple and hassle free when you buy it pre-assembled like that.
I could buy without frame but you get the hassle of adding adhesive manually which comes with the risk of the screen either not sitting on properly or pushing up because the adhesive was too weak or not applied properly. I've done a few G8's with and without frame, worked pretty well in my experience.
Note that the huawei P9 has two pentalobe screws on the bottom like the iPhones do and you will need to take the sim card / sd card tray out before opening it up. The whole metal back cover pretty much unclips from the screen frame. Do check iFixit disassembly guides on how to do so. Most of it is unplugging cables and unclipping stuff, the battery is a bit tricky the adhesive is usually strong for them. You gotta pull the battery adhesive tab if there is one and most likely the battery will still be stuck to the housing even with it removed because there is even more adhesive that is separate from that tab (pry carefully if you intend to do so of course, LCD cable runs under the battery if I remember correctly).
You can also buy cheaper from here but the quality as you can see is quite lower: http://www.eddogo.com/lcd-display-t...-with-frame-for-huawei-p9-eva-al00-black.html
As always make sure to match it up with model number.

Screen replacement

Hi,
I tried upgrading my PX3 chip to PX5 and in the process of disassembling the device I noticed the touch screen digitizer connector was not completely intact and I couldn't put it back in one piece. Now my chip is upgraded and I can hear the radio when I start my car but all I'm seeing is a black screen.
Is there anyplace I can buy a replacement for the whole screen (8 inch)? I searched some old threads and came across some links to Aliexpress selling exactly what I need but they weren't working anymore and I couldn't find any sellers right now, or more likely just didn't know where to look.
Any help would be most appreciated, would hate to have spent $90 on the new chip and then have to buy a new head unit to replace the whole damn thing just because one screen connector is broken.
Have you thought about contacting the reseller for spare parts (aftersales service)?
